1: wtf happened?

How have things come to this!?

Loke the landlord was smiling a mischievous cat-like smile at the two tenants sitting across the table from him.

The first tenant was Levy McGarden. Wearing just a white oversized T-shirt, white slippers, and a lacy black thong, she read the documents that were in front of her. Her right foot was vigorously tapping on the floor and cold seat was running down her neck. As each second passed, her hands crumbled the documents she was reading.

The second tenant was Gajeel Redfox. All he had on were black sweatpants and expensive looking sneakers. His muscular arms were crossed and he was leaning back, staring up at the ceiling as if there was something worth his time up there. His pointer finger on his left hand was tapping on his arm at a steady beat.

"So? Who's going to keep the apartment?" Loke asked with amusement written on his face.

Levy slammed the documents down on the desk. "I'm keeping the apartment."

Gajeel stood up. "You're funny. I'm keeping the apartment!"

Levy stood up. "I've just moved all of my stuff in and I'm dirt poor now! You expect me to take all of my stuff and find a new place to live!?"

"Relax! You'll get a refund so get the fuck out!" Gajeel cried.

"No she won't!" Loke cried.

Levy and Gajeel looked away from each other and stared at Loke.

"I won't get a refund!?" Levy asked.

"No refunds!" Loke answered.

"What about me!?" Gajeel asked.

"No refunds!" Loke repeated.

As a result, Gajeel flipped the table they were all sitting at. "Fuck this bullshit! So the money I spent on that apartment is gone!?"

"Seems like it," Loke said with a shrug. "Should have read the contract."

"So what are we gonna do!? I can't afford another place to live!" Levy cried, digging her fingers into her sky blue hair.

"You're just asking to get beaten up!" Gajeel yelled at Loke as he cracked his knuckles.

"Hey! Whoa! Wait!" Loke cried, standing up.

"What!?" Levy and Gajeel yelled.

"I'm really sorry about this whole misunderstanding, but our strict 'no refunds' policy means the one who give up the apartment won't get their money back. But I have a better idea on how to settle this problem!" Loke said.

"You're obviously going to make things worse..." Levy grumbled, pulling down the ends of her T-shirt to cover her thong.

"This better be good!" Gajeel demanded.

Loke smiled. "The both of you can share the same apartment!"

Gajeel and Levy were silent for exactly 9 seconds. Then, the both of them charged at Loke. Soon, Loke was crouching on the ground as Gajeel and Levy kicked him out of anger.

How have things come to this!?

"Wow, Levy! You have so many boxes!" Levy's best friend and former roommate Lucy Heartfilia exclaimed as she entered the apartment Levy had just moved into.

Levy, who had followed Lucy inside, sighed. "Yep. I'm still not done unpacking though. I've never realized I've had so many stuff."

With a large smiled, Lucy scanned the apartment that Levy had just bought. It was spacious for an apartment in the city and the walls were a perfect shade of white. There was one bedroom, one bathroom, a cute kitchen, and a large area that could be safe to say was supposed to be the living room. The tall windows had translucent curtains on them and some items were already unpacked and put in their rightful places. However, there were still boxes laying around.

"I'm just glad that I got a place as nice as this for a really cheap price," Levy said.

"That's kind of suspicious, don't you think?" Lucy asked.

"Yeah, I thought so too, but I kept on checking in with the agents and the agency and everything," Levy answered. "This place is legit. This place even comes with some basic furniture."

Lucy noticed a certain unopened box sitting on top of another box. Lucy walked over to the box and took out the item that had caught her mind. "Nobody uses this anymore, but you still have it."

Levy glanced at the item before walking over to another stack of boxes. "It belonged to my parents so of course I still have it."

Lucy adjusted the lens. "You know, if you're running low on cash, you can sell it and get some good money."

"You're always going on about money," Levy answered, opening a box with an exacto knife.

Lucy put the camera down and dug through the box she had taken the camera out of. "I don't think we'll be done unpacking everything today!"

"Nope," Levy responded. At the same time, box she was working on had opened with a pop. She moved the flaps out of the way and started to pull items from it.

"You know, you could have continued to share a dorm with me instead of moving out," Lucy said, pouting.

"I know...but once the school year is over, I'm homeless. I need a stable place to call home so getting my own place sounded nice," Levy said.

"That's fair," Lucy deducted.

Levy smiled at Lucy. "Are you gonna sulk around or help me?"

Hours later, it was nighttime and Levy was waving good night to Lucy from the window of her apartment. The apartment was on the third floor so Lucy had to look up and wave back. Levy stood there until Lucy entered her car and drove off.

"Okay...what should I do about these boxes...?" Levy wondered out loud.

Most of the boxes were unpacked thanks to Lucy's help. However, there were still some remaining boxes laying around.

Levy eyed the old camera that was sitting on the counter of the kitchen island and smiled bitterly. "I finally have a home."

She dragged her feet to the kitchen island and picked up the camera. As soon as her fingers touched the body of the camera, however, she quickly put it down. It seemed like a normal camera but it held a memory she did not ever want to remember.

"Levy! Say cheese!"

She shook away the flashback that was about to form in her head and walked away from the kitchen island. Her phone was sitting on top of a box so she grabbed her phone to look at the time. "It's late...maybe I should call it a night."

She entered the kitchen and opened the fridge that had thankfully come with the apartment, only to find out that there were no beer cans. As a result, she put on her jacket that was laying on top of another box and exited the apartment.

The city was cool at night and the lights were blinding. People flooded the streets and the cars on the road were honking at each other.

Levy was scrolling through social media on her phone as she waited for the crossing light to change so she could cross the street to the 24 hour store that was across the road. When she looked up, she saw that the light had changed and people were crossing the street. As a result, she shoved her phone inside of her jacket's pockets and crossed the street.

The 24 hour convenience store had a "Help Wanted" sign on the window. "I should apply for a job here," Levy mumbled to herself as she pushed the door open.

"Welcome," The cashier announced, sounding dead inside.

Without acknowledging the cashier, Levy walked over to the back where the refrigerators were. She opened the fridge and grabbed a few cans of beer.

Suddenly, a young man who looked beaten up ran inside of the store. It was obvious that he was trying to hide from someone or something based on the way he was suspiciously looking around the place.

Levy eyed the boy. None of my business, she decided.

The boy approached a shelf and crouched down. Then, he noticed Levy looking down at him. He shook his head and put a finger to his lips.

Levy did the "okay" sign and walked over to the cash register so she could pay for her beer. I should honestly be saving up my money since I used all of my savings to buy that apartment...

As the cashier scanned the cans, Levy couldn't help but feel worried about the boy who was still crouching behind the shelf. What happened to him?

Her question was answered when a group of tough looking guys ran inside of the store. The one with long black hair and a bunch of piercings seemed to be the one in charge.

"Find him!" The guy in charge yelled.

The other guys started to push shelves down in order to find the beaten up boy. The cashier hopelessly looked at the mess. "I guess I won't be getting a promotion..."

I should get out of here, Levy thought once her beer cans were scanned.

The long-haired guy appeared next to her and took a can. He held it up as if he was doing cheers with her before he opened the can.

"That's mine!" Levy cried.

"Okay, and?" the guy asked.

"Give it back!" Levy demanded.

The man blinked and looked around before pointing at himself. "Are you talking to me?"

"Gajeel! We found him!" One of the guys cried from the back.

The long haired guy, named Gajeel, took a sip of the beer before walking over to the guys.

Levy watched him in horror. That was how much money down the drain!? He can't just do that!

She took off one of her slides and threw it at Gajeel. It hit him on the back of his head.

Irritated, Gajeel turned around and rubbed the spot. "What the fuck!?"

"You're asking me that!? Dude, what the fuck!? You just took my drink like it was nothing!" Levy cried.

Gajeel scoffed and held up the can. "So you threw your shoe at me over some drink!?"

"It's not just some drink! It's money!" Levy cried.

"Speaking of money," Gajeel turned around to face the other guys. "Beat him up! He stole money from me! Make sure he learns to never, ever, steal from Gajeel Redfox!"

The guys saluted before they began to beat up the boy who was hiding.

"I'm sorry! I won't do it again! Ahhhhhhh!" The boy wept.

"Oh, so you beat up people for stealing from you, yet you do the exact same thing!" Levy cried.

Gajeel faced her. "You're still talking to me, shrimp!?"

"So it won't be wrong if I teach you a lesson for stealing from me!" Levy cried.

"Wow! All this just over a can of beer!" Gajeel cried in disbelief.

Levy took off her other slide and began to hit Gajeel with it. "Don't you ever steal from me again! Give me back my beer!"

"Ow! Stop hitting me!" Gajeel yelled.

"Boss!" The guys yelled.

"Get back to work!" Gajeel ordered.

The guys saluted before continuing to beat up the boy.

Gajeel then grabbed the slide that Levy was hitting him with and threw it to the side. "Look," he said, showing Levy the can of beer.

Levy crossed her arm. "What? Decided to give it back, you hypocrite?"

Gajeel turned over the can and poured the drink onto the floor. Once he was sure it was all poured out, he dropped the can onto the floor and crushed it with his feet. "There. Now we both don't have it. Problem solved."

Levy stared at the crushed can with her eyes wide. "...I'm gonna kill you..."

"What? I don't speak mumble," Gejeel aksed.

Levy looked up at him and glared at him. "I said that I'm going to kill you!"

With her tiny hands, she started to hit him. Gajeel, annoyed over the fact that he was getting beaten up by a small girl, ran off. "We're outta here!"

The guys quickly followed behind him.

Once Gajeel and his entourage were gone, Levy got on her knees. "...all that money...down the drain...!"

The next day, Levy entered her university classroom with a gloomy expression on her face. She walked up the stairs and sat next to Lucy.

"Exhausted from all of the unpacking?" Lucy asked without looking up from her phone.

Levy sighed and rested the side of her head on her right hand. Her right elbow was resting on the table. "I was robbed last night."

Lucy blinked and leaned closer. "Sorry, I didn't hear that well. I thought you said that you were..." She trailed off when Levy nodded. Then, she gasped. "You were actually robbed!? But you've just moved!"

"I know, right!?" Levy cried. "All I wanted was a beer but that guy with freakishly long hair thought it would be funny or something to take it!"

"Wait, what?" Lucy asked.

Their friend and Lucy's roommate, Juvia Lockster, entered the classroom and sat with them. "Love," she said, sighing obnoxiously loud.

"Gray?" Levy and Lucy simultaneously asked.

Juvia nodded. "We're together, right? So how come it seems like we're not even together?"

Because you guys aren't actually together, Levy and Lucy thought.

"I mean, he's always flirting with every single girl he sees!" Juvia cried.

It's not on purpose. He just has a bad habit of taking his shirt off, Levy and Lucy thought.

"And he doesn't show any affection towards me!" Juvia cried.

Because he only sees you as a friend, Levy and Lucy thought.

"Why's love so hard!?" Juvia yelled.

"Maybe Gray's just not..." Levy trailed off when she noticed Lucy vigorously shaking her head and making an "X" with her arms.

Levy cleared her throat and tried again. "Maybe Gray's just not...not shy?"

Juvia blinked. "Not not shy?" Then, a bashful smile slowly spread across her face and her hands went up to her cheeks. "Shy...Gray is shy..."

"Really!? Not not shy!?" Lucy mouthed at Levy.

"What else was I supposed to say!?" Levy mouthed back.

5 minutes later, class had begun and the professor was giving a lecture. However, the lecture was interrupted by a pink haired student who was holding a bouquet of pink roses.

The professor sighed. "Natsu Dragneel. Late for my class, as usual."

Natsu, the pink haired guy, waved at the whole class with a large smile on his face. Then, he showed the professor the bouquet. "I had to get these first."

"How are flowers more important than my class!?" The professor cried.

"So you're saying that my girlfriend is less important than your class!?" Natsu cried.

"Yes! That's exactly what I'm saying!" The professor cried.

Natsu locked eyes with Lucy. "Yo! Our professor just said that you're not important!"

"No, that's not what I was trying to say!" The professor cried.

"Oh? So what are you trying to say?" Natsu asked.

The professor opened his mouth to say something. A second later, he closed it.

Natsu triumphantly walked up the stairs to where Lucy was sitting. Then, he got down on one knee and presented the bouquet to her. "I fought someone to get these flowers for free!"

Lucy laughed as she stood up and accepted the flowers. "Don't lie. I know you fought someone then stole these."

Natsu stood up and kissed Lucy on the cheek. "You know me so well."

Levy and Juvia cringed. Ugg, they're too lovey dovey!

When classes were done for the day, Levy and Juvia stood outside a building to wait for Lucy to come out with Natsu.

"Imagine having the same classes as your boyfriend," Juvia said before sighing. "Couldn't be me."

Levy crossed her arms. "Having a boyfriend seems stressful."

"Relationships with anyone, whether it's with a sibling, friend, or significant other, are stressful," Juvia said.

Levy shrugged. "I guess."

From the corner of her eye, she saw their other friend Erza Scarlet peaking behind a nearby tree. Levy looked around before walking over to Erza. "You good?"

Erza jumped when she heard Levy's voice. She quickly calmed down. "Levy! Good to see you!"

"Did something happen?" Levy asked.

"Actually..." Erza suspiciously looked around the place before digging inside of her purse and grabbing a small shopping bag. "I bought it for myself online but they turned out to be smaller than I thought. But they're your size so I got the idea to make this your housewarming gift."

Levy suddenly grew nervous but accepted the gift.

"What is it?" Juvia asked, appearing next to Levy out of nowhere.

"I have no idea," Levy answered, reaching into the bag.

Her fingers brushed against something lacy but she couldn't tell what it was. As a result, she pulled the whole thing out of the bag. The minute she was able to identify what her gift was, her face turned as white as paper.

It was a lacy black thong.

"Levy! I need that to add to my collection!" Juvia cried.

"What!? You collect this kind of stuff!?" Levy cried as she shoved the thong into her purse.

"Yep! One day, Gray will see me in all of them!" Juvia answered with a sly smirk.

"Uggg, I'm leaving!" Levy cried, running off.

"She took the thong," Erza noted with a smirk as she and Juvia watched their tiny friend run into the distance

Hours later, Levy had come back from her shift at a restaurant. She kicked off her sneakers and slid on her white slippers before making her way to her bedroom.

"Sleep. Needed. Now..." She mumbled as she flopped down on her bed.

As she did, her bag slid off her shoulders and fell onto the floor. She sat up and saw that the thong was sticking out of the purse.

Levy looked around before sliding out of her black leggings. "Wouldn't hurt to try this on..."

Second later, all she had on was her oversized white T-shirt and the thong. She at her full body mirror in order to see how the thong looked on her. Then she frowned. "I don't have a boyfriend to show this to..."

Suddenly, she heard her front door swing open and heavy footsteps walk across the apartment.

Levy froze. Is that Lucy? No, she doesn't have the spare key. I haven't even gotten the spare key yet.

"Yeah. I'll move the money," a familiarly deep voice said on the other side of Levy's bedroom door. "I'm checking out the place right now. Why'd you put girly furniture in here?"

Slowly, Levy opened her door a crack to see who had broken into her house. Then her mouth dropped to the floor when she identified the person.

There was Gajeel Redfox, the same guy who she had met at the 24 hour store. He was on the phone with someone as he took off his shirt, revealing his toned abs and muscles.

"The money will be moved into the apartment by tomorrow," Gajeel reassured.

Levy studied him from where she was standing. Gajeel had black sweatpants and he was wearing expensive white sneakers. Why's he wearing shoes inside? Does he not know basic etiquette? You don't wear shoes inside!

When Gajeel looked in the direction of where Levy was, Levy quickly closed the door.

"I'll call you back," she heard Gajeel say.

Levy had her back against her door as she scanned around her room for anything to use as a weapon. So first he robs me of my beer. Now he comes to my house to rob me of...doesn't matter! This time, I'll fight back even harder!

The minute the doorknob started to turn, Levy grabbed a lamp and rose it above her head. This time, you're dead!

The door flew open but to her surprise, there was nobody behind the door. Levy slowly crept out of her room with her lamp in her hands. Where did he go...?

Suddenly, someone grabbed her arm, causing her to drop the lamp and for the lamp to break into thousands of tiny pieces. Levy was effortlessly pinned to the wall and when she looked up, she saw that the pinning was done by Gajeel.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" Gajeel demanded.

"That's what I want to know! This place is my place!" Levy cried.

Gajeel then recognized her. He let go of her wrists and pointed at her. "You're the crazy beer shrimp!"

That's what he remembers me as? Levy thought, resisting the urge to face palm.

"How did you get in here!?" Gajeel demanded.

"I live here! How about you!? How did you get in here!?" Levy demanded.

"I live here!" Gajeel cried.

The both of them blinked.

"Did you buy this place with your money?" Levy asked.

Gajeel looked at her as if she was speaking an alien language. "No, duh!"

Levy quickly slipped away and sprinted towards the front door. Gajeel ran after her. "Where are you going!?"

"To see the landlord so I can have this place for myself!" Levy cried.

"What!? This is my place though!" Gajeel yelled, picking up his pace.

They both squeezed through the door frame out into the hallway. As they made their way down the hall to the elevator, they kept on shoving each other out of the way. Then they saw that there was a sign saying that the elevator was out of order.

"Fuck!" They cursed as they made their way down the stairs.

There was still pushing and shoving as they made their way to the first floor. Finally, they arrived on the first floor and they sprinted to the end of the hallway where the landlord lived.

Levy banged on the door. "Landlord! Open up!"

"Are you in there!?" Gajeel yelled, kicking the door down.

Inside of the apartment, a girl who's most likely a model was sitting on the landlord Loke's lap. They were having a heated make out session but were interrupted by Gajeel kicking the door down.

"Oh! Hey, guys!" Loke cried.

"I'm keeping the apartment! Tell the little shrimp to move out!" Gajeel demanded, storming inside.

"What!? That's not fair! I had it first!" Levy cried, following after Gajeel.

"Whoa whoa whoa! Wait!" Loke cried.

Under the piercing glares from Levy and Gajeel, Loke kissed the model on the cheek and waved goodbye to her as she left. Then, he walked over to a desk. "Please, have a seat," he said, gesturing to the two chairs across from him.

Levy and Gajeel glanced at each other before they reluctantly sat down.

"Okay. What's going on?" Loke asked.

"I bought apartment 321 recently, but this guy sitting next to me said that he also bought it," Levy answered.

"Names?" Loke asked, opening a drawer.

"Levy McGarden," Levy answered.

"Gajeel Redfox," Gajeel answered.

"Let's see...found it!" Loke grabbed two files from the drawers and put it in front of them. "So, those papers are your housing contracts. With two different agents, the both of you bought this house at the exact same time."

"What!?" Gajeel cried, grabbing the file that had his name on it. He scanned the documents in the file before grabbing Levy's file. Then he dropped it onto the table and laughed sarcastically.

Levy took the documents out of her file and read them. "You can't be serious..."

"I'm afraid I'm not. They payments were made at the exact same time," Loke answered with a shrug. "So...I guess one of you will have to give up the apartment to the other one."

And that leads to the current situation: Gajeel and Levy were still kicking Loke as a way to take out their anger.

How have things come to this!?
