This idea has been floating around in my head for a while and I finally got around to writing it! Im only doing phases 1, 2, and part of three. And if I ever get through those I might do the other 8. I'm doing them in chronological order (for the most part,) and I might change a tiny piece here or there. I'll proably get 2-3 chapters out a week, just depends on how much time I have. Also im looking for a beta, so if you are instrested PM me, and I'll get back to you.
These are the 2012 Avengers, and this story takes place about a month after the New York invasion. So most of the movies will be the future for them.
Tonys' eyes fluttered open and he was suddenly aware of the bright fluorescent lights that were definitely not in his and Pepper's room. He also became aware that he was in fact on the floor. Disgruntled he sat up and looked around. The room was fairly large and felt even bigger with the windows that stretched floor to roof on the back wall. There was a bed pushed up against the left wall with a nightstand on either side and a yellow armchair in the corner by the window. An empty desk and chair was next to the other nightstand, and across from the bed, there was a dresser. The two doors seemed to be his only way out.
Briefly, he wondered if he had gotten drunk and just wandered into one of the spare rooms of the tower, but the grass fields outside the windows suggested otherwise. The last thing he remembered was whining to Pepper about her turning the book lamp shed been using to read off so that he could sleep. Shed refused at first, but after his constant nagging, she had given in, turned off the light, and gone to bed.
So, there was only one logical reason he'd be in this strangely nice decorated room.
He had been kidnapped.
The thought was not a pleasant one, considering the last time Tony had been kidnapped he'd been forced to create weapons of mass destruction. He figured since Avengers Tower arguably had the best security in the world, the people that had taken him would be looking for something along those lines. Last time he had gotten out he had help and his captors had been dumb enough not to double-check his work. Something told him it wouldn't be the same this time.
With a huff, Tony stood and walked over to the door next to the dresser. Surprisingly it was unlocked but upon opening it he found why. It was a small bathroom, toilet, sink, shower, the works. Currently, he found no use for the room, so he closed the door and then walked over to the other one.
He tried the handle and found that this door too was unlocked. That was definitely strange if they were holding him captive, he didn't exactly see why they would let him waltz right out the door. Or maybe they wouldn't- maybe there were two guards right outside that door waiting for him to open it and shoot him.
That however was a risk he was going to have to take, plus if he was dead, he wouldn't have to build them anything right? Carefully he opened the door and peeked out into the hall. There were no guards, instead he was meet with three more doors on the opposite wall. He slipped out of the room, careful to not let the door slam.
The hall was sparse, and there was a total of six doors, three on each side. Both the walls and floor were the same dark gray concrete color, and from where he was, he could see no cameras which was good. If they saw him escaping… well it probably wouldn't end well for him. Then again, they had left the door open. So maybe he hadn't been kidnapped- or he had but by S.H.I.E.L.D. and it was just there was of saying this was their new base? Tony wouldn't exactly put it past them… they'd did sneakier shit.
Suddenly he heard an ear-splitting scream come from one of the rooms across the hall. That made him freeze, there were other people here? Wait... was it Pepper? If it was Pepper and they were torturing her he couldn't just leave her. She was the love of his life for Pete's sake!
Carefully he crept forward and to the middle door across the hall where the scream had come from. He tested out the handle on the door, and was relieved when it was unlocked. At first, he saw nothing but how identical the room was to his own, and then he caught sight of the pile of red and black on the floor. Except it wasn't a pile, it was a person curled up in the fetal position.
The person however was not Pepper but another redhead he knew. Natasha. She was whimpering and thrashing around a bit, but appeared to be in no danger. Was she hurt? If she was bleeding out or slowly dying of some poison, he couldn't just stand there.
Tony quickly rushed over to her and knelt by her side. "Natasha?" he asked softly, placing a hand on her shoulder. She didn't appear to be hurt, then again there was that possibility of poison. "Natasha? He asked again when no response came. He gave her a slight shake, and she only whimpered more. "Natasha!" he said much louder this time.
That was a mistake.
In a whirl of movement, she had him pinned against a wall, and a knife pressed to his neck.
Her hair was ruffled, she was breathing heavily, and appeared to be perfectly fine. So, had she been asleep? Did the famous Black Widow have nightmares? Or had she just been fucking with him? Either way, he decided to slowly raise his hands, indicating he meant no harm. "Wow wow wow, it's me! Tony, you know the guy who's tower you've been living in for the past month?"
With that she released him and stumbled back a bit, shaking her head. After a few moments, she composed herself and took in her surroundings, obviously not recognizing them. So not S.H.I.L.E.D after all? Natasha had a level 7 clearance level and would have undoubtedly been notified about something like this.
"Where are we?" she asked.
Ok, so they weren't going to talk about the fact that she'd nearly killed him for the fifth time this month. Got it.
"No idea, I think we might've been kidnapped. But most of the doors seem to be unlocked and I haven't seen a single security camera." He explained.
"Isn't the whole reason everyone moved to the tower, because of security?"
"What it wasn't my charm?" Tony said feigning hurt.
Natasha just rolled her eyes and sighed. "we need to find a way to get out of here... Wait do you know if the others are here too?"
"They might be," he responded simply.
"Well then, let's go find out.
…
Ten minutes later the six Avengers stood in a circle in the middle of the hallway. Turns out, they all got their own little suite and each of the six-doors led to them.
"So, no idea who did this to us?" Steve asked.
"Absolutely none. I thought S.H.I.L.E.D might've been behind it seeing as we seemingly have free rein of the place, but Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable are here and I don't think anyone at S.H.I.L.E.D besides Fury and maybe Hill has the guts to kidnap them. Plus, can you imagine how many agents it would take to carry Thor?" Tony said and got scowls from Thor, Natasha, and Barton.
Steve sighed. "Well then, we might as well look around. See if we can find any way out of this place," he suggested. After a few moments of consideration, the others nodded. "Natasha, Banner, and Stark go to the left, me, Thor and Clint will check out the right. Meet back here in ten." the Captain ordered, and without another word, everyone split up.
Tony followed Natasha down the hall, and Bruce kept pace with him. When they reached the end of the hall they were meet with a large room. It resembled a living room, with a rather big orange sectional in it, facing an even larger tv.
Natasha went to inspect the windows that lined both the left and right walls, probably trying to decide if the glass was bulletproof or not. While he and Bruce found nothing better to do then decide that if they sat on the couch a poisonous gas would release. However, on the coffee table was a small wooden box with a yellow sticky note atop. Before Tony could read it, Bruce picked it up and read the one word on it allowed: "enjoy"
They both returned their gaze to the box. "should we open it?" he whispered to Bruce, not particularly wanting Natasha to hear.
"No! What if it's a bomb?" Bruce whispered back.
"What if it's a key out of this place?"
"if they made it so easy to get out why would they go through the hassle of kidnapping us?" Bruce pointed out.
"Good point," Tony said, but then completely ignored logic, and let curiosity get the best of him. He snatched the wooden box from the table, flipped the lid open, and found something he had not been expecting.
It wasn't a bomb or a key, but 15 discs.Movie discs.
"Uh... Natasha?" Bruce called out, and the red-head turned her head, caught sight of the box, and came over.
She read the note and examined the box before sighing. "Well this is defiantly unexpected." she mumbled before putting the box back down on the table. "find a way out?" she asked, to no one in particular.
"who-" Tony began but was quickly cut off by another voice.
"Nothing but a kitchen, and dining room. The fridge is fully stocked, could probably last us two days. Three if we ration. You?" Someone said, and Tony turned around to see that it was Barton who had spoken, and the other two Avengers were with him.
Natasha sighed and went to join them. "No, the glass is defiantly bulletproof, and even if we did want to risk the hulk breaking it, there may be civilians here. Plus, there's probably nothing around here for miles. However, Tony and Bruce found a box full of CDs and a note saying enjoy."
"huh," Barton mumbled.
"What is a CD?"Thor asked, and Tony couldn't stifle his sigh, he and the others had been trying to get Steve and Thor caught up on modern technology.
Surprisingly enough though it was Steve who answered. "A CD is what people sometimes use to put into devices and play movies on." Everyone looked at the 70-year-old surprised, but Steve just shrugged.
Thankfully though, it required no further explanation since Tony had been forcing the two to watch every "important" movie. I.E Starwars, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and stuff like that.
"So, what are we supposed to do? Watch them?" Steve asked, approaching the box.
"We have nothing better to do... so might as well," Tony said picking up the first disk. "Huh. This one is called Iron Man." he said reading the title.
Bruce picked out another one. "This one says Captain America: The First Avenger."
"Wait so these are movies about us?" Barton asked.
"Looks like it Legolas" Tony replied promptly, then spotted a small piece of paper in the box. It listed the name of every movie inside, and the order to watch it in.
"Looks like we're starting with me!" Tony said with a shit-eating grin. A chorus of groans escaped everyone. "I'm not that bad, am I?" he asked feigning hurt.
"Let's get this over with," Natasha mumbled and plopped down on the orange couch. Clint fell in beside her, followed by the rest of the team.
"Great! I'll get the snacks!" Tony said before disappearing down the hall.
