She picked up her cup of coffee and turned to leave the shop. A big body was standing there. A pair of brown eyes settled on her, and he broke out in a smile. He remembered her well. Her long, wavy, hazel brown hair and her greenish blue eyes that seemed to be cyan colored had been in his fantasies a couple of days after meeting her.

"Akiva?" He asked.

She remembered him. They had only met once. He was a friend of her cousin Seth.

"You don't remember me," his smile fell.
"No, I remember you," she said. "I don't ever forget a face, but I have a hard time remembering your name."
"Roman," he said.
"Roman. Right," she smiled. "It's nice to meet you again."
"Do you have a moment? It would be nice to talk a bit before going to work," he said.

How things had changed since running into each other that morning at the coffee shop. After that they seemed to run into each other every morning at the same place. They talked at first and it slowly grew into a relationship.

And now they were here in a motel room in another town. Someone had knocked on the door and Roman had opened. A woman had stormed in and started screaming at him. Akiva should come to his aid but she stood there frozen. The other woman clearly knew him, and Akiva felt her heart sink in her chest.

"Galina, please," Roman tried.

The woman had a name. Galina. Roman knew her. The question was who she was.

"I knew you were cheating on me!" Galina yelled.

Akiva felt her heart break. He had someone else. Or at least she thought she was something to him. She needed to know for sure.

"Who are you?" Akiva asked.
"I'm his wife!" Galina growled.
"You're married?" Akiva asked.
"You didn't tell her?" Galina asked. "Oh my god, you really are a piece of shit."

It suddenly made sense why Akiva had never been to Roman's house. He kept making excuses about it being remodelled. They always met at her place, or she went with him on business trips like this weekend.

"We'll talk about this later, Akiva," Roman said. "And you, Galina..."
"I don't think so," Akiva said.
"What are you even doing here?" Roman asked.

Roman clearly ignored Akiva's last statement and focused on Galina instead. It didn't matter. She needed to get out and it couldn't happen fast enough. She picked up her bag and looked at the table. Her phone was there next to Roman's phone and car keys. She picked up her phone and before thinking twice about it maybe being a bad decision, she picked up the car keys too. She quickly made her way through the room and over to the door.

"Where are you going?" Roman asked.

Instead of acknowledging Roman, Akiva looked at Galina.

"I hope you divorce his sorry ass," Akiva said.
"Oh, I am," Galina said.
"You can't be serious!" Roman raised his voice. "Calm down and let's talk."

Akiva made her escape. She could hear the couple arguing behind her. She hurried to Roman's car, unlocked it and got in. She adjusted the seat, put on the seat bell, turned the key and hit the road. She had been driving for about 30 minutes when her phone started ringing. Roman's name flashed across the screen. She hit the green button and made sure the phone was on speaker so she didn't have to pull over to talk.

"What?" She barked.
"Where are you?" He asked.
"Where do you think I am? I'm going home," she said.
"You stole my car?" He asked.
"I'm borrowing it. I'll leave it locked in your driveway and put the keys in the mailbox," she said.
"It's my car!" He yelled. "How the fuck am I supposed to get home?"
"If you can't afford public transportation, I suggest you start walking," she said.
"You can't be serious," he said.
"I mean this from the bottom of my heart," she said. "Fuck you, Roman. Don't ever contact me again."

She hung up and threw the phone back on the seat next to her. Of course he continued trying to call several times. She turned up the volume of the music and ignored the phone. She was done with him. There was nothing he could say or do to undo what he had done.
