A/N

So this started out as a oneshot until it got too long and then a plot came out of nowhere so I guess we shall see. It's been a while since I've wrriten anything but I watched both Z-O-M-B-I-E Movies and it inspired me. I love it so much.

Hope you enjoy.

This is an alternative to what happened with the Moonstone in the second movie. SPOILERS FOR ZOMBIES 2.

Disclaimer, I own nothing.

The cave shook again and everyone staggered, remaining to stand upright. The wolves all looked towards their leader; she always knew what to do. The stone they had been searching for had finally been found.

"We have to move it out of here" Willa insisted, looking towards her number one wolf Wyatt.

Wyatt nodded in agreement, "Legend says that together, our pack can move the stone"

Willa didn't hesitate, "Everyone, Lift!" she commanded.

Her pack instantly responded and everyone gathered around the luminescent stone and grabbed hold, watching Willa for her signal.

Everyone lifted at once, they managed to lift it slightly but the gravity of the stone quickly sank back into the floor of the cave with a resounding thud.

Willa moaned in frustration, they needed to save the stone. Soon, or they would all be crushed by the cave walls. The cave was practically collapsing around them, it was unstable and it wouldn't be long before…. They needed to hurry.

Wynter the usually cheery website scrunched her face up in exasperation, "It's too heavy" she gasped.

"There's not enough of us" Willa realised. A lot of the pack were too sick and not with them currently. It was only a few of them that were strong enough to take this last chance, following the tunnel from beneath the school to the power plant. Though the wolves had already charged their stones, it seemed like the wolves at full strength were not enough to move their precious stone and save the pack. She had failed.

"Then perhaps you need a bigger pack!" A voice shouted triumphantly.

"Addison?" Willa stated incredulously, before looking round at the people she had brought with her. Ned stood by her side like always and her best friend Bree but was also accompanied by some of the other zombies and cheerleaders. She had brought them together.

"We can here to help" she stated. "Come on everyone! LIFT!"

Everyone was desperate and immediately obeyed instruction. The stone slowly made its way about the ground and everyone lifted with all their strength. The cave started to shake again but it distracted no one from moving steadily towards the exit of the cave. The ground violently shuddered, causing them to drop the stone and in that instant, a massive boulder fell and blocked the exit with a resounding thud.

There was silence briefly.

Everyone took a few seconds for the dust to clear. The cave was dark, only the lightly radiating from the stone cast a warm glow on to all of the occupants.

Ned immediately ran over to the boulder, punching it pathetically.

"Were trapped" Ned stated softly, too shocked to panic. Finally zombies, humans and wolves were working together and now… they were going to die, suffocate to death in a cave beneath an abandoned power plant.

"I'm so sorry everyone" Willa stated quietly, speaking out in the silence. It was all her fault. She was the Alpha and responcible for her pack and she had just lead them to their death.

"It's not your fault" Wynter replied adamantly, sensing her leaders thought pattern.

The cave shook again and more debris came falling from the top of the cave, Ned jumped out the way to avoid the falling debris and landed on his best friend Eliza.

"Sorry" he grimaced.

Eliza understood and held his hand, squeezing it lightly. Then her eyes travelled up his wrist where his Z band was and her eyes widened.

"Zed! You're Z band" she exclaimed loudly, drawing the attention of the entire cave.

"What?" Zed responded confused.

"It's still broken, you can take it off and move the slab!"

The cave filled with gasps and Ned looked around and saw everyones hopeful expressions, staring at him like he was some sort of saviour…. And not the monster that he was.

"What? I'm not ready! What if I can't control it?" Ned protested worried.

"Zed, you can do this" Addison gently encouraged, "We all believe in you"

The cave shook violently again. They were running out of time.

"Zed… you have to" Addison reminded him gently.

Zed still seemed pained.

"This is a crazy idea!" Zed complained, "I…"

"Zed" Eliza stated quietly, yet the sound bounced and echoed of the walls so everyone could hear everything in vivid clarity. "We don't have much choice here"

Zed frowned, "I understand that Eliza but I doubt I'll lift the slab to escape…" he admitted slowly, "Not when there are humans trapped in here with me… and I won't hurt them. I'm sorry. But I won't"

The humans let out a shaky breath.

"Zed…. You won't hurt us" Addison insisted, taking a hand and stroking his face.

The cave violently shook again and Eliza knew what she had to do. The only way any of them were going to get out of this. Eliza fell forward slightly and grabbed hold of Zed to steady herself and ripped the Z band of her friends wrist.

"NO!" Zed panted. The process was starting.

"Hands on the stone!" Willa exclaimed.

Her orders were instantly obeyed and they worked together to move the stone.

Addison remained standing in front of Zed and guiding him in front of the massive slab of stone.

"Come on Zed, you can do this" she pleaded with him, looking into his eyes which were getting redder by the second.

Great black veins were spreading like wildfire and he let out the most inhuman sounding roar of pain that any of them had ever heard.

Zed panted heavily for a couple of sections as he adjusted before his gaze settled on the humans that surrounded him. His back to the slab.

"Zed" Eliza slowly spoke, "Speak to us, we need you to move the slab"

"Zig zagg gwag gwad" Zed spat out, panting in between breathes.

All of the zombies in the room stiffened.

Eliza felt a pit of dread in her stomach, this was all her fault. Zed couldn't do it and now they were all going to die.

"No!" Addison interrupted, "You can do this Zed! Lift that damn slab"

Addison could see that Zed was desperately trying and truth be told he was.

Zed let out a roar of pain, his senses had heightened, he could feel all of the heart beats in the cave beating loudly and quickly in response to fear. He gripped his hands to his ears and scrunched his eyes in pain. He needed to get out of here.

Zed stumbled towards the slab, his right leg dragging against the floor and grabbed hold of the bottom corner. He let out a huge roar and he held up the slab that was keeping them trapped.

The others wasted no time and immediately started moving the stone through. They didn't have long and they could all tell that Zed was struggling.

Zed had his back to them as they passed him holding the stone but he couldn't help but turn his head and groan loudly when a human passed. He knew he couldn't hold it, the last of his humanity was fading and he was losing the fight to the beast inside. He could only fight his instincts for so long.

Zed couldn't tell if everyone had made it through or not but with a last resounding grunt he threw himself to one side as the cave slab slammed shut.

Addison and the others had made it past Zed and were on the way to escaping the tunnel when they heard the slab slam shut.

There was silence for a moment as they waited for any sign of movement, but after a few moments had passed, there was no sign… of anything.

"Keep going" Addison instructed.

Willa nodded, "Let's get the stone out of here!"

Her pack and the others continued carrying the stone out of the tunnel and up to the surface but Eliza and Addison moved slowly back towards the entrance, the dust was slow to clear but they crept forward slowly.

"You got the band ready?" Addison asked.

Eliza looked down in her hand, the Z band has been completely crushed by her strong grip and by the damage she had inflicted to get the band off.

Eliza let out a half sob, "We should get out of here" she cried, "The bands broken"

Addison looked sharply at Eliza before looking at the remains of the band in her hand, "no…" she whispered.

"You're not safe Addison" Eliza spoke, knowing her friend wouldn't want to attack her but had little choice.

As the remainder of the smoke disappeared Addison walked right up to the entrance of the cave and looked back at Eliza with a tear in her eye.

"I'm completely safe…. He's trapped"

Addison felt her other eye tear up too, with the last of his strength he had thrust himself into the cave and trapped himself just to keep her safe. She half expected him to waltz out from the darkness, with a smirk on his face. She could picture his swag walk reattaching his Z band with ease looking all sexy in his Prawn outfit.

The tunnel began to shake and Eliza grabbed Addisons hand.

"You're not safe! This tunnel is about to collapse! I've gotta get you out of here!"

"No! I'm not leaving without ZED!" she yelled. "ZED!" she screamed again.

"He would want you to be safe!" Eliza stressed as she dragged her through the tunnel to the entrance.

At this point Addison was full on bawling her eyes out, she loved him. She didn't want to leave him. She attempted to resist Eliza's pull but she was stronger and forced her out of the tunnel.

They only just made it before the earth slammed back together again, the tunnel collapsing in on its self as if it were never there in the first place.

"No!" Addison screamed falling to her knees. Sobbing her heart out and hitting the floor with rage. The others who had made it out with the stone were strangely silent. This should have been a happy occasion but what had just happened was as clear as day.

"You killed him!" Addison screamed, her eyes piercing Eliza's like a dagger.

Eliza physically recoiled in shock.

"If you hadn't taken his Z band off him he wouldn't be…" she broke off unable to say the word. There was silence for a few seconds as Addison tried to calm herself down, "It wasn't your choice to make Eliza"

Those words hit her straight in the face. It was all her fault. Zed said he didn't want to remove the band and the only one he ended up hurting…was himself.

Eliza's eyed filled with tears, "I'm so sorry Addison" she whispered.

Zed may have been her best friend but for Addison, Zed was the love of her life. Her soulmate.

"Just leave" Addison spoke calmly, void of emotion. She knew was in shock but she would take feeling nothing over the feeling of losing Zed.

Eliza knew better than to argue, the shock and horror over what had just happened was catching up with her and she slowly walked away.

Addison watched her leave and turned to face Willa. "Let's get the stone home"

Willa didn't feel much like smiling but she gave a weak smile, they may have saved her pack but they lost one of their own and didn't feel like celebrating much.

It didn't take long for them all to move the stone together back into the woods, they placed it in the centre of the main room and all admired as the moonlight hit the centre of the stone causing light to explode onto the walls, creating incredible patterns.

Addison watched the light bouncing on the walls, in another setting it might have even seemed romantic. All she felt now however was vacant and empty. Emotionally drained.

"Addison you ok?" Wyatt asked, approaching her from the side.

Addison gave a forced smile, " I'm tired" she muttered. The days events had totally drained her and all she wanted to do was pass out and do nothing.

Wyatt wrapped his arms around her and squeezed. Addison stiffened in shock and let out another sob.

"Come on, let's get you home"

Addison nodded tiredly and allowed Wyatt to take her home. It was getting dark, enough that the zombies can to run to get back before curfew. Last thing they needed was trouble from the zombie patrol.

Wyatt was the perfect gentleman as he walked her home. He knocked on the door and her parents opened and him in too. Addison didn't complain as she got sent straight up to bed, obeying her parents orders. She knew that no doubt Wyatt was about to explain everything to her parents and she didn't think she could face hearing it. Witnessing it has been enough. With that last thought, she passed out fully clothed on her bed. Dead to the world.

Addison awoke early the next morning and the weight of what happened the night before came rushing back to her in an instant. She methodically changed clothing and grabbed the essentials. She knew what she had to do today.

She walked into Zombie Town confidently. She only hesitated when she stopped outside Zed's house. She paused, trying to work up the courage to knock on the door. She was unprepared when the door opened and Zeds father appeared.

"Addison?" Zevon exclaimed.

"Um Hi Mr Necrodopolis" Addison stuttered nervously.

"Please, it's Zevon. Come on in, I'm afraid Zed's not here" he told her, "he never came home last night"

"Addison!" Zoey yelled with a smile on her face and leapt in to give her a big hug.

Addison gave a watery smile as tears began to escape her once more.

Zevon immediately sensed that something was extremely wrong.

"Zoey…. Go to your room"

Zoey looked confused at her father, "But daaaad"

"Now sweetie" her father gently insisted.

Zoey let out a huge sigh and stomped off to her room.

"Tell me…. What happened…. After?" Zevon asked seriously.

The following conversation was the hardest thing Addison ever had to say and the hardest thing that Zevon has ever had to listen to.

"Do you think he's still alive?" Zevon asked impatiently.

Addison blinked shocked, "He sacrificed himself to save us"

Zevon shook his head, "Look, it's quite difficult to kill us when to use my sons terminology, full on zom"

"You think he's still down there…. Trapped" Addison gasped, that was an even worse fate than she dared to think.

"Then let's go save him" Zoey interrupted innocently.

"Zoey" Zevon sighed, he should have known that his daughter would be curious.

Addison blinked away her tears with sudden determination.

"You're right. We can do this… but we might need a little help" she smirked.

A plan was forming.

"Addison?"

Addison turned and smiled. "Hi Willa"

She looked confused, "Are you ok?" she asked concerned. This girl had saved her pack.

"I need your help"

Willa smiled, "You saved my pack…. Anything we can do we will"

"I hope you stand by your word" Addison smiled, "We need to save Zed"

Willa blinked, "Honey…."

"I spoke to his father. He said that in full on zombie mode they can survive pretty much anything. We need to find him"

Willa nodded, a little doubtful but didn't dare vocalise her thoughts.

"I need to know. We have to find that cave and dig him out"

Willa contemplated that statement for all of two seconds before bursting into a grin.

"You helped me save my family…. Let's go save yours"

Addison grinned.
