Tohru was about to go to the shop for food. She checked the fridge, and found it empty. There was nothing but torn plastic and foil; even the carton for the milk was lost. She then saw a hole in the back corner of the fridge, decorated with a few dark droppings. Tohru knew that the house had no rats, due to Yuki's abilities to drive them away, but this was still odd.

"Hey" Kyo said, "Wh-". He suddenly halted, staring into the destroyed fridge.

"Oh, Kyo" Tohru said, "I think there's a rat".

"That isn't a rat!" Kyo exclaimed, "It can't be!".

"Do you think so?" Tohru asked.

"What sort of rat can dig through a goddamn fridge?" Kyo asked.

"Well, then what could it be?" Tohru asked.

"I don't know" Kyo said, "And I don't think I want to know".

"Oh" Tohru said, "Anyway, I guess we'll have to go get some groceries".

"Get some mousetraps too" Kyo said.

"Mousetraps?" Tohru exclaimed.

"We have to do something about the.. whatever they are" Kyo replied.

"I guess so" Tohru said, "But..". She sighed.

"Fine" She finally said. She went to the store, bought some food and mousetraps, and returned home. At this point, Kyo had repaired the fridge and informed the others of the problem.

"Did you get the mousetraps?" Yuki asked.

"Yes" Tohru said sadly, unpacking her bag.

"I'll go set them up" he said.

"So will I" Kyo declared, grabbing a handful of the traps, and darting off. Yuki followed his lead, and soon the traps were set everywhere they could be. Tohru made dinner, and the day went on.

The next morning, Kyo awoke and went to get his morning milk, only to find the fridge just as empty as it was yesterday.

"What the hell?" he said, looking around. He decided to check the traps, and found that every last one had been triggered and depleted of its lure, and not a single one had caught anything. "The fuck?" Kyo exclaimed. His outburst awoke Shigure.

"Whuh.. What are you doing?" Shigure said, entering the room.

"The fridge is empty!" Kyo shouted, "And all the traps failed!".

"Well so they have" Shigure said, more impressed than anything else.

"I'm going to the store" Kyo said.

"OK" Shigure said, returning to his bedroom. After his excursion, he returned with some take-out breakfasts (the store wasn't open when he arrived). At this point, Tohru and Yuki had also woke up.

"Hey" Kyo said as he arrived, "I got some breakfast". He put his bag on the table, and they ate the sad take-out breakfast.

Later in the day, after school, Tohru and Kyo were out shopping. They were getting ingredients for dinner, and also a variety of traps to catch the pests that had taken up the house. The soon finished the trip, and returned home.

"I'll go set these up" Kyo said, grabbing the traps and walking away. As he put the traps around, he noticed something in the darkness. It looked like a pair of slimy eyes, glaring down a scaly, serpentine nose. He instantly reacted, grasping at the creature. However, the creature had a trick up its sleeve. Kyo suddenly drew back, his hand burning.

"Ow, fuck!" Kyo exclaimed in pain.

"Kyo!" Tohru said, "Are you OK?".

"It burned me" Kyo said, "Those things burned me".

"That's not good" Tohru said.

"It's alright" Kyo said, "These things are going to be gone by morning".

"O-oh" Tohru stuttered. Soon, all of the traps were set up. But, Kyo was not finished: He went to the fridge and cupboards, and, using various things he found, reinforced them to a great degree. Tohru then made dinner, and then everyone ate and went on.

The next day, Tohru woke up and got out of bed. Something felt different, but she ignored it, at least until she tried to move. When she tried to move, she realized that she was stuck fast to the floor. She looked down in a panic, and saw a glue-trap binding her feet. This glue-trap was also seemingly nailed into the ground. As Tohru squirmed and panicked, Yuki suddenly entered.

"Tohru!" he said, "Wha-". He looked down at Tohru's trapped feet, and realized her problem.

"Don't worry" Yuki said, "I'll go get some vegetable oil. That will help get you free". Yuki went downstairs, and saw that the table had been destroyed, reduced to no more than a handful of splinters and rags, as well as the remains of the traps they had laid under the table. The traps had no sign of use, besides a couple of grey crow-plumes stuck in the glue-traps. The cupboards and fridge had once again been drained, with some of them completely destroyed. As Yuki looked at the scrap, Kyo arrived.

"Where's Tohru?" Kyo asked.

"She got caught in a glue-trap" Yuki said.

"How?" Kyo asked. "

There was a glue trap beside her bed" Yuki said, "I think those things might have done it".

"What?" Kyo exclaimed, "Are you crazy?".

"Nevermind" Yuki said, "We need some vegetable oil".

"Why the fuck do we need vegetable oil?" Kyo asked.

"To free Tohru, you dumb cat" Yuki explained.

"Well, I didn't get any" Kyo said.

"Then go back to the store to get some" Yuki said.

"Do it yourself you damn rat" Kyo replied, before going to find Tohru. Yuki sighed, and decided that he would have to get the oil himself. After the trip, he returned home to find Shigure packing away all his belongings.

"What are you doing?" Yuki asked.

"I'm leaving this hellhole" Shigure said, "And burning it down as I go".

"What?" Yuki exclaimed, "You can't do that!".

"Why not?" Shigure asked.

"Well, for one, Tohru and Kyo are still inside" Yuki spluttered.

"They can run" Shigure said dismissively.

"Tohru's got her feet stuck in a glue trap!" Yuki said.

"Really?" Shigure said, perking up. He then spied the bottle in Yuki's hands.

"I'll go help her out" Shigure said, taking the bottle and running off. Yuki soon heard a loud bang and some angry shouting from Kyo. He sighed, and went to gather his own possessions (Shigure's idea to leave did seem rather smart). Meanwhile, Kyo was helping Tohru free her feet from the trap. The door was barricaded to keep out Shigure and his perversion. As he worked, he heard a knock at the door.

"Go away you mutt!" Kyo shouted.

"It's Yuki" Yuki said.

"You go away too!" Kyo replied.

"I think we should leave this house for a while" Yuki said, "Go pack".

"Don't tell me what to do!" Kyo shouted, despite the fact that he was certainly going to follow Yuki's lead.

"I think we should go too" Tohru said.

"Yeah" Kyo said, "We should".

"Oh" Tohru said, a little confused. Soon, Tohru was free.

"Thanks, Kyo" Tohru said, stretching her feet.

"Y-you're welcome" Kyo said. Kyo looked away, and noticed something scuttle past. It looked like some sort of fish, at least from the tail. He walked over to where the creature had gone to. He found a large crack in the wall, under which was a small spatter of sawdust, which preserved the creature's footprints. Some of the prints were like fowl, whereas the others were like a mole, or perhaps a gopher.

"What is it?" Tohru asked.

"It's one of those things" Kyo explained, "It's in the wall here".

"What?" Tohru exclaimed.

"Wait a sec" Kyo said, leaving. He soon returned with a hammer, a wooden board, and some nails. He went over, and nailed the board over the crack. He then left to pack his possessions. Tohru also went to her own things, and quickly packed them away. As she sifted through her things, she felt a horrific pain in her wrist. She looked down, and saw a bloody rat-bite going deep into her flesh. Tohru head swam, as she fell to the ground in a faint. She soon woke up to the voice of Kyo. Her hand had been bandaged, presumably by Kyo.

"Are you OK?" Kyo asked.

"Yes" Tohru said, "I'm good".

"I think you should go to the hospital" Kyo said.

"What?" Tohru exclaimed, "Bu-".

"You need to get it checked out" Kyo said, "It might be infected".

"OK" Tohru said. After a relatively short trip to the walk-in clinic, Tohru and Kyo quickly gathered up their remaining possessions. Soon, lunchtime was upon them. During lunch, Shigure explained his plans.

"I secured some rooms" he began, "But there were only 2 rooms availible".

"So how are we going to divide the rooms?" Yuki asked. "I propose that you and Kyo go together" Shigure said.

"And leave you alone with Tohru?" Kyo exclaimed.

"Really Kyo" Shigure replied, "I thought you'd be better than that".

"What the fuck do you mean by that?" Kyo demanded.

"Actually" Tohru interjected, "I don't really want to stay with Shigure".

"Why not?" Shigure asked.

"Well, uh" Tohru began, trailing off.

"I have a better arrangement" Yuki interrupted, "I'll go with Shigure, and Kyo and Tohru can have the other room". Everyone accepted this arrangement.

"Anyway" Shigure continued, "I've also booked to get the house fumigated".

"Better than burning it down" Yuki said.

"What?" Tohru exclaimed.

"Shigure was going to burn the house down in the morning" Yuki explained.

"No I wasn't" Shigure lied.

"Don't lie" Yuki replied. The plan went through perfectly, and after around a week, the house was pest-free. After they repaired and replaced the various things that had been damaged, the house was back to normal.
