Day One: Mind Control

Peter knew something was wrong on his way to the Tower. At first he thought it was his Spidey-Sense telling him someone was infiltrating it. But if someone was infiltrating the Tower, Tony would have contacted him and if not Tony, then Karen would've done so on the swing to get there. He looked around to see if anyone was following him but that wasn't the case either.

He dropped halfway to the Tower's entrance where Tony stood. He was in his suit and Peter immediately assumed they were going on a mission. He barely managed to catch him in time to go with him. As he walked closer, though, his Spidey-Sense got worse. His hearing picked up on Tony's heartbeat. It sounded weird. Out of beat.

"Mister Stark?" Peter said, stopping halfway.

"Hello, Spider-Man," Tony said, turning to face him. His helmet was still on so Peter couldn't see his expression. "I was waiting for you."

"Yeah, it's Friday," Peter said. He frowned, not that Tony would be able to see it under his mask. It wasn't like him to call him Spider-Man, unless others were around. "Just got finished with a patrol and thought I'd change here."

"That won't be necessary," Tony said, lacking emotion.

"What-"

Tony raised his hand and sent a blast his way. Peter barely managed to jump out of the wall and cling to the Tower wall. This was definitely not Tony. He swung over to a different building when Not Tony raised his hand again.

"Karen, what is this?" he asked his AI. He landed on a nearby street light.

"It seems something is wrong with Mister Stark," was Karen's response.

Peter face-palmed. He never would've guessed that. It wasn't as if the man wasn't firing at him. If this was Karen's attempt at humour, Peter would have to teach her later and tell her not to joke when it comes to Tony's wellbeing.

"Who are you?" Peter asked, facing Not Tony again. "What happened to Mister Stark?"

"What are you talking about, Spider-Man?"

And there it was again. Tony, more often than not, called him 'kid' or some other nickname. It was rarely his name or Spider-Man. Whoever this was was stupid to think Peter wasn't going to see that slip up.

"Okay, time to get serious, Karen," Peter mumbled. "Is this really Mister Stark or a clone or something?"

"This is Mister Stark," Karen answered. "Something appears to be controlling his actions."

"Contr-"

Peter jumped out of the way as Not Tony tried to fly at him. He thought about webbing him but stopped himself. He didn't want to hurt Tony's body, not that webbing him would do that. But if he messed up somehow there was a chance anything could happen.

"How?" Peter cut his question short.

"Similar to a necromancer, if you will," Karen said.

"Isn't necromancy for dead people? Mister Stark's heart-"

Peter was too busy trying to figure this out to notice Not Tony rushing him again. The fake gripped his neck and slammed him against the wall. Peter gripped at Not Tony's hands, but made sure not to grip too hard to avoid breaking him, and tugged down. While still in his grip, Not Tony tossed him to the side.

Peter went to stand but Not Tony slammed his foot into his side, knocking him down again. He rolled to the side when Not Tony tried to stomp on him. He used his webs to snag onto the nearest building again.

"Stop moving around, you little pest," Not Tony growled.

"Karen!" Peter prompted, urgently.

"Someone is in his mind and controlling his actions. Mister Stark isn't conscious right now."

"Someone like who?" Peter asked, losing his patience. "Aliens? A demonic spirit?"

"Demonic spirit," Not Tony scoffed. "You watch too many movies, Spider-Man. I'm more sophisticated than that."

"You're not sophisticated. Who takes over Tony Stark, Iron Man's, body?" Peter scoffed. "That's pathetic, man. Get a real life."

Not wanting to deal with another blast, Peter shot a web at one of Not Tony's hands, sticking it to the wall.

"Give me back my Mister Stark," Peter snapped. "Karen, suggestions!"

"Knock him unconscious and find the source. Get it out," Karen said, plainly.

"You said it's in his head. How do I get in his head without killing him?" Peter said. "I don't even know-"

"FRIDAY has managed to break through," Karen interrupted. "Her voice was glitchy but I deciphered that she said Mister Stark had an encounter with a wizard today."

"Oh...That makes things easier," Peter sighed in relief. "How should I knock him out without going too far?"

One thing Peter feared the most was hurting people he cared about if he didn't know how far to go or if he forgot to hold back. He was very conscious when it came to his enhanced strength, but mistakes could happen and he didn't know if he could live with himself if he almost killed someone he loved.

"Choke him out," was Karen's blunt answer.

"With his helmet on?" Peter asked, incredulously.

"Force it off and push against his throat. Not too rough."

He'd have to hurt him after all. Not too much at least. He knew Karen would tell him if he was adding too much pressure. With hesitation, Peter webbed Not Tony's other hand to the wall.

"Get these webs off me," Not Tony demanded, trying to tug them free.

As a safety measure, Peter added two more on Not Tony's arms. He swung down and walked up to him. He webbed Not Tony's legs when he saw the imposter was about to kick him. Not Tony struggled and groaned and Peter didn't doubt he was glaring at him.

Peter struggled to get the helmet off while trying to ignore the insults Not Tony was shouting at him. He found himself punching (lightly) the side of the helmet and twisted it every which way. Eventually, he managed to force it off with the helmet having some dents in it.

"Okay, tell me when I'm adding too much pressure," Peter told Karen.

Before Not Tony had the chance to say anything else, Peter pressed his hands against Not Tony's throat and pressed. He wanted to let go the moment Tony started wheezing and gasping for air, but stopped himself knowing that he needed to get him unconscious so he could find the wizard controlling him.

"Karen, it's not working."

"More pressure but not too much."

With even more hesitation, Peter pressed harder against Tony's throat and squeezed his eyes shut. The strained noises from Tony made him shudder and he wanted nothing more than to let go already. Why wasn't this working? If he did this much longer he'd end up killing Tony.

"Karen!"

"Almost there. You're holding back too much."

Peter tried to shut out the world as he pressed harder. He almost found himself hyperventilating, terrified if he was really doing the right thing. Within a few seconds Karen spoke up again but Peter was still too busy trying to deal with Tony.

"Enough. That's enough. You're going to kill him."

Peter's eyes snapped open and he stepped back, stumbling and almost falling back. He placed a hand over his heart and took deep breaths to calm himself. He could still hear Tony's heart beating and he deflated in relief. He never wanted to do that again.

He shook his head to try and get out of his panic. "Okay, where's the wizard? Did FRIDAY say?"

"Yes. The wizard is-"

Peter swung over to the old car garage where the wizard was at. The cars in there were mostly rusted and probably hadn't been used in years. Cobwebs were in the corners of the ceiling and dust was everywhere. It was a poor place for a wizard to be in but one that he maybe thought no one would look.

His Spidey-Sense tingled and he ducked when a dart was shot his way. He jumped onto one of the cars and saw the wizard he was looking for behind one of the cars. He stood straighter and came out of hiding.

"Hey, man," Peter said, plainly. "So, you thought it was a good idea to take over Iron Man's body, huh? It was actually pretty dumb."

"My plan was fool proof until you decided to cut off my connection with Stark," the wizard growled in annoyance.

"Nah, I don't think so." Peter shot a string of webs to his dart gun and brought it to himself. He looked it over. "Why bother using this if you're a wizard who can control minds? Did you run out of steam on Mister Stark?"

Peter tossed the weapon to the wall and webbed it in place.

"You said you were waiting for me," Peter continued. He stepped off the car and walked up to the wizard. "Were you going to try and ruin my reputation as Spider-Man? Try to find out my secrets?"

"We don't need secret vigilante freaks like you around," the wizard said.

"Oh. Well, I seem to be pretty liked here for the most part. Get with the times."

Before the wizard could say something snarky, Peter punched his face. He twisted him around and forced him against the wall, pulling his arms behind his back. Like how he didn't want to extremely hurt loved ones, he also didn't want to extremely hurt others either. But there were times where some people deserved a good punch.

Besides, this guy was a wizard. He could take it.

"But don't you dare try anything on Tony Stark again," Peter said, twisting his arm. It wasn't enough to break it but it definitely hurt, if the groans from the wizard meant anything. "Don't involve other people if you have a personal issue with me."

The wizard tried to struggle in Peter's grip and that only encouraged Peter to hold him tighter. He still didn't plan on breaking any bones but he definitely wanted the wizard to be sore after this.

"Peter, I have contacted the police. They'll be here shortly," Karen informed him.

That was one thing Peter forgot to do, too focused on wanting to find the guy who had the nerve to use his mentor (and much more than that) against him. He pulled against his arm, perhaps a little too much this time because it dislocated. Again, he was a wizard, it would be fine.

Peter turned him around and stuck him to the wall.

"You-"

Peter shot webs on his mouth, tired of his talking and not wanting to get more frustrated. He left the area and made his way back to the Tower where he assumed Tony was still at. It had been a couple hours so the webs would've dissolved and Tony would be free.

Peter walked into the Tower and was greeted by FRIDAY. She told him Tony was down in the lab and wanted to see him. Before going down there, Peter took his backpack and went to the bathroom to change in his normal street clothes. Then he went down to the lab and saw Tony working on something on the table.

"Mister Stark?" Peter said, similar to how he did earlier that day. He didn't step past the door. His Spidey-Sense wasn't tingling so he assumed he was fine.

"Come in, kid, don't stand there like a stranger." Tony waved him in.

Peter smiled. That sounded much more like the Tony Stark he knew. He walked up to his side and looked up at him. He didn't look too exhausted with only minor bags under his eyes. He did have some bruising on his neck though, from when he pushed against it. Other than that, he seemed unharmed.

"FRIDAY informed me on what happened," Tony said, bluntly. "You okay?"

"Are you okay?" Peter asked instead. "You're the one who was taken over."

"I'm fine. It was a strange feeling waking up after that and being stuck on the wall," Tony said, winking at the last part. "Thanks for your assistance."

"Anything for you, Mister Stark," Peter said enthusiastically. "I got the wizard dealt with. He won't be bothering you or anyone again."

Tony looked at him suspiciously, raising an eyebrow. Peter shook his head quickly.

"I didn't kill him!" he said, quickly. "I punched him and dislocated his arm but other than that he's fine! I promise!"

"I didn't think you'd kill him, kid. You're much better than that," Tony said with a smile. "I was wondering how far you went, that's all. If you still held back."

"Of course I did." Peter frowned. "I was angry he hurt you but I wasn't going to permanently damage him."

"Sometimes anger can do bad things to people, kid," Tony said.

"I know."

Tony patted his head. "But I know you're too good for that, too. I trust you, Underoos."

"Thanks, Mister Stark."

Author's Note: Hey, ya'll! I'm here with a new fic. It's going to be all 28 prompts from Febuwhump (you can find these on Tumblr). A new chapter will be posted every day. It's my first time doing an event like this. And writing Tony and Peter (and others involved). That being said, I have some notes regarding the writing:

One: I've only seen a limited amount of movies (Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming), because the Canadian Netflix is...well. It doesn't have a lot (it doesn't even have the first Iron Man movie). Anyway, the point of this is to say that nothing I write will be related to Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. I've only seen bits and pieces of them.

Two: like I said this is my first time writing these characters so they may be OOC at times, which I apologize in advance for. I'll get better as I go.

That's all for now. I'll see ya'll in the next chapter.

Thanks for reading!
