Another day, another research assignment for Ash and Goh. Professor Cerise's exact words were "There is a rumoured reflection cave in Kalos that's said to be a portal to an alternate dimension. I would like you two to check it out for me."

Ash and Goh are currently on a flight to Kalos, waiting for a plane to land. While on the flight, Ash took out his wallet and opened it up, and took out a bunch of photos, taken over the years. They are all photos of him and his friends, from Kanto to Alola. One picture, however, Ash found himself staring the longest at. It was a picture of him, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, and Korrina, taken at Shalour. On the back of the photograph was the autographs of everyone in it. It was decided that Ash should keep the original, since everyone else there lives in Kalos. Goh peeked over, and saw the photo.

"Hey, neat photo, Ash! Who's in it? I recognize the Korrina girl, but who's the others?"

"The blonde guy is Clemont, the Lumiose City Gym leader, the smallest girl is Bonnie, his sister, and the girl next to me is Serena, my childhood friend." Ash explained.

"Huh, she's pretty cute!" Goh remarked. Then, he smirked. "Is she your girlfriend?"

Ash blushed "No! She's just a friend! Why does everyone say that about every girl I travel with? For the love of Arceus, Goh! People have asked if Chloe is my girlfriend!"

Goh laughed "I'm just saying, man. You two look cute together."

Ash humphed and put his wallet away. "Whatever." Though deep down, Ash is in thought. What Serena said still resonated in his head. "Next time we meet, you'll like the person I've grown into!" He hasn't seen her in two years. How much has Serena grown since? And the last thing she did. The kiss. Ash has been kissed before, by Melody, by Latias, but Serena's kiss felt different. It wasn't weird, or awkward. It felt nice, magical. He felt her warm, soft lips touch his, and when she was pulled away by the escalator, he almost wanted to lean forward, to make it last as long as possible. The feelings in his mind back then were unfamiliar, but certainly not unwelcome. He kinda wants to feel that again.

A few hours later, the plane landed in Kalos, and Ash and Goh hailed a taxi to Shalour City and started walking in the direction of the Reflection Cave. Soon, the cave came into view. From the outside, it looks like any ordinary cave. But the moment one steps inside, they'll find themselves surrounded by what appears to be mirrors, all over the cavern walls. While Goh simply stood there, mesmerized by all the mirrors, Ash had other ideas.

He smirks mischievously, and looks at Goh. "Hey Goh."

"Yeah?"

"You know how the professor said that there are rumors of these mirrors being portals to another dimension?"

"Yes?"

"Want to jump in one?"

"What? You're crazy! Those are just rumors! No way that's true."

Ash grabs Goh's hand and rushes for the largest mirror in the room. A very familiar one at that. "The only way you'll ever know, Goh, is if you go! So lets f*cking GOOOOOOOOOO!"

"AAAHHHHH!"

The dio ran straight into the mirror, and seemingly ran through it, and they both landed on the cavern floor. Goh stood up and looked around. "See? There's no such thing as alternate dimensions."

Ash however, started walking out of the cave.

"Hey Ash! Wait up!"

Ash ran outside the cave, with Goh following closely behind. "How many times do I have to tell you Ash? Alternate dimensions don't exist!"

Ash wasn't listening however. His attention was on the two people in the distance. A boy with raven black hair, wearing a blue vest, and a girl with short, honey-blonde hair with a red fedora and blue ribbon. Ash grinned wildly, and bolted towards the duo.

Meanwhile, the duo seems to be in a heated conversation. "Ugh, come on, Serena! Why did I have to come out here? Goh didn't have to!" the boy whined.

Serena, the girl, smacks the boy on the head. "Quite your whining already! Honestly! You may not be so much a crybaby anymore, but man do you complain, Ash! Stupid… why couldn't you be like that other Ash?"

Ash started to tear up. "Why can't you be like that other Serena then? She's so much nicer…"

Serena glared at Ash "What did you say?"

"I mean… I'm sorry and I'm grateful to have someone like you."

Serena then grins and pets Ash on the head. "Awww… I could never stay mad at you cutie."

"ASH! SERENA!"

Serena and Ash perk up. "Who-" They look in front of them, to see our Ash running at them at terminal velocity. "ASH!" They both yelled out in unison.

(M)Ash and (M)Serena pulled Ash into a tight hug, all of them laughing happily.

Ash pulled out of the hug and looked at his alternate self. "It's been a while, me! How's your adventure coming along?"

(M) Ash replied, with a big smile, "Well you know the Kalos League? I won! I finally won a league!"

"Wait, seriously?"

(M) Serena nods "Yep, I couldn't believe it either, but this lil' guy actually did it. I knew your teachings help screw his head on right. Now he can actually beat me in battles! So how about you?"

Ash looked down "I um… lost the league"

Both Mirror natives were shocked "What? How? Sit down, we need to talk."

Ash explained to his mirror friends how the league went, and the whole Team Flare crisis-

"Wait, Team Flare were bad guys in your dimension?"

"Yeah."

"Huh, here they're just some nice scientists and research group. Weird."

This made Ash think. Does that mean all the past villain teams he encountered are good in the Mirror World?

Suddenly, Goh ran up to them, catching his breath. "Hey, Ash, sorry to interrupt your conversation with Ash, but- wait… 2 Ash's?"

"Yeah, he's my mirror counterpart. I told you alternate dimensions are real."

Goh blinked a few times. "I… I think I'll go look for Pokemon in the forest." and walked away.

(M)Serena watched Goh as he went into the forest. "Huh, he's quite different from the Goh I know."

"What is mirror Goh like?"

"Reckless but really reserved. He doesn't care much for Pokemon. Instead I see him spend most of his time buried in schoolwork, unlike his friend Chloe."

"So what did you do after the Kalos League?" Ash asked his mirror self.

"Oh, I went to Alola with Serena, and we helped start the island's first league. And in Alola" (M)Ash started to blush. He put his arm around (M)Serena's shoulder "we went on our first date! We're a couple now!"

Ash's eyes widened "Really?"

"Yeah, I never thought it'd be possible, but now I can't imagine life without him." (M)Serena replied and nuzzled her boyfriend's hair, causing him to giggle. "So, how about you and your Serena?"

"Oh um… no."

"Are you kidding me?" the mirror couple yelled in response. "She was so obviously in love with you! How could you not tell?"

Ash put his hands up in defense "I- I don't know! I guess I was too focused on Pokemon! It wasn't until she kissed me did I realize that she loved me!"

"She kissed you?" (M) Ash asked "My Serena never kissed me, and I realized her crush on me! Are you dense or something?"

"I mean, when she kissed me, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, you know? I'm not really sure what that feeling is though."

(M)Serena facepalmed, before knocking on Ash's forehead like it's a door. "Knock knock, dumdum! That feeling is love! You love her!"

"I do? Maybe that's why Serena felt so different from all my other friends. But, I'm not sure if she still loves me, I mean, it's been two years."

This time it was (M)Ash's turn to answer. "If Serena was willing to wait over a decade to meet us again, then 2 years is nothing. I'm sure she still has feelings for you."

"You really think so?"

"Yes, definitely. So go out there, and find your love."

Ash smiled. "Thanks, you two. I guess I'll be off to Hoenn. I got a girlfriend to get." As he stood up, he was held down by (M) Serena.

"Now hold on there, hotshot. Let's have one more Pokemon battle. Let's see if you're strong enough for me." She took out a Pokeball, which enlargened in her hand.

Ash grinned. "Oh you're on." He unclips one of his own Pokeballs.

"Delphox, come out!"

"Lucario, I choose you!"
