Triwizard Tournament
"Take care of your sister this year. I don't want to receive any letters from Snape about you two misbehaving again!" father snapped at Draco. I sighed and rolled my eyes. Father looked at me from the side of his eyes with the classic Malfoy sneer. "I expect better from you this year Amaryllis. If you don't keep your grades up, you can expect to be punished the entire summer." Father spat the words at me. I scoffed and stomped towards the train not bothering to respond or look back. It sucked that Draco was superior to me. It was worse that I was his twin sister. I hated the lot of them so much it made bile rise in my throat.
I slid into a compartment and flopped onto a seat. I took some deep breaths before changing into my uniform. I checked my newly pierced ears in a mini mirror. Over the summer I'd gotten multiple ear piercings and a belly button piercing. Father and mother absolutely lost it when I came home with them and the punishment, I received at their hands was well worth every hit.
Draco and his goons came by. "Well, there she is! The darling princess of the Malfoy family in all her glory!" Draco teased. I flipped him off and turned to the window. He slid in beside me and threw his arm over my shoulder. "Now, now Amaryllis! That is no way to treat your brother. What would mother say?" he scoffed. I turned to him with a sarcastic smile plastered on my face.
"Why don't you ask her. You're good at running to mommy and daddy whenever you have a problem you spinless twerp!" I growled pushing him out of the compartment. I slammed the door on him and his goons. I tried to calm down but honestly being related to him was not the easiest thing.
We were walking down to the dungeons when Parkinson smacked the back of my head. "How could you treat your sweet brother like that Amaryllis?! You should be ashamed of yourself!" she spat. I lost it. I grabbed her by her hair as she walked away. She screamed out as I pulled her down. "I know you are not talking to me little girl. You should know your place. You're just barely good enough to lick the dirt from Draco's shoes. So, before you come around trying to put me in my place know yours!" I yelled flinging her to the ground at my brother's feet before hurrying into the common room.
I climbed into bed and did a quick spell to keep others away. I slid out of my uniform and braided my white-blonde hair. I had grey eyes just like my brother which I truly hated, but my skin was much paler than his no matter how much time I spent out in the sun. I did not for the life of me want to look like him. I flung the braid over my shoulder and curled up under the covers. I stared at the ceiling. I focused on the green hue that seemed to float around and fell asleep.
I ate breakfast silently as Parkinson glared at me rubbing her head. I smirked and finished eating. Everyone was talking about the Tournament, but I personally didn't care. The family owl swooped down delivering the usual things for Draco then flew over to me with letters from mum and dad complaining about my behavior at the station. I crumpled them up and swished them around in the juice jug. "They're not going to like that Lis!" Draco whispered in my ear. "They can kiss my ass because I don't give a damn. Why are you over here? Go over there to your little puppy. She misses her owner." I muttered looking directly at Parkinson.
Draco followed my line of sight. "Maybe you should date someone then you wouldn't be so uptight!" he mumbled. "It's so nice to see siblings getting along. Your schedules. Oh, and Miss Malfoy do watch your language!" Snape drawled as he moved in front of us. I held out my hand for my schedule. Snape handed me my schedule and I examined it carefully. "I don't understand why you didn't pick the same extra circulars." Draco sighed looking over my shoulder at my schedule.
"I needed a break from my brother believe it or not. Grow up a bit will you. Also, I don't need to date someone. I'm perfectly fine on my own you know!" I smiled as I grabbed my bag. Draco rolled his eyes and tsked. "Your sister is a fiery one!" Blaise chuckled as I walked away. I hurried up to the library before my first class. I wanted to look for a book to check out.
I was searching the shelves for a book I couldn't find last year when I bumped into another fourth year. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." Neville apologized quickly. I waved him off. "No need. Neither of us were aware of the other." I shrugged. He stood there with his mouth open staring. I put a finger on his chin and closed his mouth. "Anyways. See you later." I smirked moving past him. I started focusing on the shelves again.
"I know where that book is!" Neville whispered excitedly pointing at the slip of paper in my hand. He grabbed my hand and led me to a section I hadn't looked at yet and pulled the book out. He held it out to me, but I kept my eyes on our still connected hands. He dropped my hand and looked at the floor muttering apologies. I sighed. "Thanks for helping me find this it would've taken me ages." I smiled at him.
He stammered and a slight blush appeared on his face. Shaking my head, I went to check out the book. I read it all the way to my first class. Draco was reading the Daily Prophet at dinner and I busied myself by finishing my book. "Lis, what do you think of the article?" Parkinson asked snatching my book. I glared at her. Draco took the book from her and gave it back to me. "I think you need to take a break every now and then from kissing Draco's ass." I smirked. Parkinson lunged across the table and Draco and Theodore grabbed her and pulled her back down to her seat. Draco leaned over to Parkinson and whispered in her ear.
I cracked open my book and started reading again. Draco kicked me under the table, and I reached over and smacked his head. "No kicking!" I scolded. Blaise pulled me back down to my seat. "That's enough playing for one day you two." he chuckled. "Lis needs to learn to be nicer. Or date someone. She might be nicer if she had someone." Draco scoffed. I groaned and slammed my book shut drawing even more attention to us. "You want me to date someone so badly!" I laughed. I leaned over and kissed Theodore, then Blaise, and finally Pansy. "Happy now big brother!" I smirked in his face.
Pansy freaked and rolled around on the ground shrieking. Draco looked around speechless at the scene we'd caused. "I don't think I need anyone. If I did, I think I'll decided when on my own dear brother." I ruffled his hair before leaving the Great Hall. I sighed in frustration as I made my way to the dungeons. "Hey! Amaryllis are you ok?" Neville asked running to catch up with me. He put a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded. "I'm fine Neville. What are you doing here?" I asked looking around. "You looked mad and I thought if you needed it you could use someone to talk to." he mumbled. I folded my arms and looked at him. "You may not need it now but if you do, I'd be willing to talk to you." he smiled looking at the ground. "Really. I didn't think you would. My brother and his goons bully you all the time. I figured you'd want nothing to do with me." I spoke softly. Neville's head shot up as he shook his head. "I remember every time Draco and his friends would make fun of me you would tell them off. I was grateful I just didn't know how to say it. You seem like a much nicer person than Draco." he insisted blushing slightly.
I smiled at him and ruffled his hair. "Thank you, Neville. If I ever need someone to talk to you, I'll be sure to find you." I gave him one last smile before heading further down the hall. I heard footsteps and turned to see Neville behind me. "I almost forgot you dropped this in class earlier today. Thought you might want it back." he held out a bookmark that I had made myself. I took it gratefully. "Thank you." I kissed his cheek and went to my dorm.
I stood in line with the other Slytherins as we waited to welcome the visitors to the school. Draco nudged my arm. I shot him a look and focused my attention back on the front of the line. He nudged me again and I heard his goons snickering. I shot them a look and they went silent. "I need to talk to you dear sister." Draco muttered from the side of his mouth. I nodded and looked forward. "I saw you talking to Longbottom the other night after you left the Great Hall. What were you doing?" he whispered.
"Talking. He wanted to return something I'd lost earlier that day. Why?" I eyed my brother. He fidgeted under my gaze. "Just thought you were seeing him or something. I, just like mother and father, would prefer if you saw someone more suited to the family's taste. I don't think you should hang around him much is all." Draco looked at someone past me. I followed his eyes and saw Neville look away. "You'll scare him. I told you the truth. He returned a bookmark I'd dropped in class. I'd been looking for it all day if you cared enough to notice." I punched his shoulder.
He rubbed his shoulder and glared at me. After the guests were inside, we followed and sat down at our tables. I droned out while Dumbledore and the Ministry people talked about the Tournament. "How can this not interest you in the slightest?" Blaise leaned over and whispered to me. I smirked and shrugged. "I think watching will be more entertaining than competing, don't you?" I whispered back.
He eyed me a moment before smiling. "If your brother catches Longbottom staring at you again, he might just do something about it." he smirked and nodded his head at the Gryffindor table. I looked over and saw Neville look away. I tilted my head in confusion as Blaise chuckled. "Poor boy, he's head over heels for the Malfoy princess and she doesn't even see it." Theodore scoffed putting an arm on Blaise's shoulder. The two laughed and shook their heads.
I ignore their teasing and turned to see Draco looking at me with a raised eyebrow. "Did you honestly not know?" he asked with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and put my head on the table. Draco and Parkinson snickered. The feast started and I quickly busied myself with eating. "Poor thing. What did you say to make him like you?" Parkinson scoffed. I let my eyes meet hers and she looked down. "I didn't do anything. I was just looking for a book and he helped me find it. I have never said much of anything to him." I spoke softly. Parkinson kept her head down.
I looked towards the Gryffindor table. Neville had been looking at me again and looked away. His friends followed where he was looking, and I looked away. "Tell him to stop looking at you like that before I kill him." Draco growled. "Okay Mr. Ferret." I smirked. Blaise and Theo started laughing until they caught Draco's eyes. "I'm not kidding Lis! You tell him soon. I don't like the way he's looking at my little sister." Draco muttered grabbing my arm as we headed down to the dungeons.
"Let go of my arm." I sighed trying to get out of his grasp. He held on tight and stared into my eyes. "Fine, but I can only tell him. I can't control his feelings though." I mumbled. Draco let my arm go and stormed off. "Older brother mode activated!" Theodore called after him. Draco flipped us off. I put my head on Theo's shoulder and sighed. "My poor brother needs to lighten up." I scoffed. We laughed all the way back to the common room.
I found Neville a few days later in the greenhouses. He didn't hear me enter so I tapped his shoulder. He was reading a book about plants and jumped when I tapped his shoulder. "Oh, it's just you." he sighed and smiled. "My brother talk to you?" I asked. Neville nodded. "Stop staring at me so much. I don't think it's safe for you to stare at me so much. You'll incur more of my brother's wrath if you do." I whispered.
"Draco told me I shouldn't have feelings for you. I know. He and his lackeys had a long talk with me during Care of Magical Creatures a few days ago." Neville mumbled. "Draco's right. Especially after what my aunt and her husband did to your parents. You shouldn't like me. You should hate me if you can. You shouldn't look at me like that." I laughed. As I was talking Neville had started looking at me the same way he had on the night of the Welcoming Feast. He reached up and tucked my hair behind my ear.
I felt a shiver pass through me at his touch. "Neville you shouldn't care for me. My brother will kill you. Hell, my mum would kill you. I don't want that to happen. Please tell me you'll try." I begged. Neville cupped my face and kissed me. I was shocked at first but then I relaxed and responded with equal enthusiasm. He pulled me onto his lap as I ran my fingers through his hair. He kept a hand on my hips and one on my neck. "I can only try not to be so obvious, but you shouldn't stare back at me either you know." he whispered in my ear.
I nodded and put my hands on his shoulders. "I hear everything you're trying to say." Neville spoke softly as he stared into my eyes. "Good. You'll tame your feelings, and my brother won't kill you. You'll also stop staring at me and I'll stop staring back. I should go now." I mumbled getting off his lap. He grabbed my hand. "Lis, you should think about why you responded to my kiss like that." he murmured in my ear. I turned to him only to find he was standing and rather close. He put his hands on my hips and pulled me flush against him. I stared into his eyes as my heart raced in my chest.
I saw someone outside and started to move away. "I didn't mean to disturb you two!" my best friend Luna giggled as she ran off. I shot him a glance and he released me. I kissed his cheek. "Get rid of your romantic feelings for me Neville." I kissed his lips one last time before running after Luna. I caught up to her in front of the Great Hall and put an arm around her and pulling her to me. It was lunch time and people eyed us as they passed. "What's going on here?" Theo asked as he and Blaise approached.
Luna made kissing noises and I put my hand over her mouth. "Nothing. Nothing is going on." I panted managing a small smile. Luna removed my hand from her mouth and started making the kissing noises again looking at someone past them. Neville hurried past into the hall and Theo and Blaise shared a look. They took off into the hall towards my brother. "If I get in trouble, I'm blaming you." I teased Luna. I hurried after Blaise and Theo. Luna followed and sat next to me.
"Did you talk to Longbottom yet?" Draco asked eyeing me and Luna carefully. Luna started with sound effects again and I stuffed a bit of sandwich in her mouth. "I handled the situation already." I whispered. Blaise scoffed and Theo hit his shoulder. "Is there something I need to know? You two have done an awful lot of snickering since you sat down." Draco rolled his shoulders. They started to look at the Gryffindor table when I spoke up. "I kissed Luna!" I lied.
People stared at us and gawked. Luna nudged me. "Help." I whispered to her. Draco opened his mouth to say something. "Don't worry so much. I found it to be quite the experience." Luna giggled. I put an arm around her and rested my head on her shoulder. "Do I even want to know?" Draco asked twirling his wand in his fingers. Luna shook her head. "I heard something different." Blaise chuckled.
I kicked him under the table, and he glared at me. I feigned innocence and went back to my food. "I heard Amaryllis was caught kissing someone. Who was it?" Parkinson smirked as she sat down. "According to Lis it was Luna, but Blaise and Theo seem to be saying it was someone else." Draco stared at me. Luna giggled and got up. "I'll leave you two to sort it out." she winked and skipped away.
"Who was it?" Draco asked leaning onto the table. I stared back confidently. "No one." I shrugged. "I heard it wasn't anyone in Slytherin." Parkinson smiled. I waved my wand at her under the table and she went flying off her seat. "I told Neville to get rid of his feelings for me just like you asked. you did not and have no right to demand I tell you who I do or don't kiss." I waved my hand in the air.
Draco sat back looking very upset which mad me a little happy. "Would you prefer if it was one of us?" Theo asked winking at me. Draco smacked the back of his head. "Was that a no?" Blaise asked raising an eyebrow and grabbing my hand. Draco growled and Blaise released my hand. "They're just teasing you!" I reached over and pinched my brother's cheeks. I turned his head to Parkinson. "Doesn't he just look so adorable like this?!" I laughed.
Draco knocked my hands away and muttered to himself for the rest of lunch. He put an arm around me as we left the hall. "Answer honestly Amaryllis. Did you Luna catch you kissing Neville?" he asked quietly as we made our way to class. "No." I answered calmly. "Did she catch you in his vicinity?" he asked changing tactics. "Sort of." I responded. He tensed and took a deep breath. "Did you kiss him?" he spoke quickly and his grip on me tightened. "So, what if I did? I was told to tell him to stop staring at me. So, I kissed him so he would stop looking at me." I scoffed. Draco pulled me into a side hall.
"How is kissing him going to get him to stop staring at you like that?" he sneered. "Did you or any of your friends see him staring at me today? No. Let it go Draco!" I pulled away from him and stormed off towards our next class. Over the next few weeks Neville kept his word. Draco lightened up on the whole big brother thing and Blaise and Theo stopped teasing me about it. I followed the rest of the students down to watch the first task.
I moved to sit between Blaise and Theodore, but Draco pulled me next to him. "He still doesn't trust us." Theo smirked putting his head on my knee. I leaned down and ruffled his hair. "I have to share a dorm with them. Of course, I don't trust them. Now get your head off of Lis' knee." Draco pulled me closer. I pouted and held my hand out to Theo. Draco grabbed my hands and tsked. "Did you not hear what I just said? I don't want you dating them either." he muttered. I turned and raised an eyebrow. "I'm not sure if I trust your judgement." I teased.
Draco picked me up and put me on the other side of him. Blaise and Theo started laughing. "We're just playing around Draco!" Theo chuckled slapping Draco's knee. I snickered and looked down to where the Champions were supposed to be coming out. I took out a notebook and started writing. "I thought you were going to watch?" Theo asked.
"I am but the first Champion hasn't come out yet." I mumbled scribbling in the notebook. Draco cracked his knuckles and I looked up. Neville was red in the face and looking away. "Maybe if you dated someone else Longbottom would leave you alone. What are you writing?" Draco wondered snatching my notebook. He flipped through and then looked at me. "What? I can't work on my homework while I wait?" I reached for my notebook. Draco held it out of my reach. It wouldn't matter much if he had my notebook. I always wrote in various languages every now and then to make it harder for prying eyes to get confused.
The first task began, and I watched silently as they brought out a dragon. I held out a hand for my notebook and began writing again. "They're absolutely gorgeous." I sighed. The three boys looked at me like I was crazy. I ignored them and kept writing as they whispered about something. Theo got up and sat on my other side and Blaise sat behind me. "Don't you guys think the dragons are beautiful?" I asked staring at the dragon below. Draco ruffled my hair and Theo leaned closer to my notebook.
"You certainly have a way with words don't you Lis? I wouldn't necessarily call them 'a beautiful sadness that would make even the gods weep'. Lis is so poetic!" Theo chuckled. I pouted and closed my notebook. I tilted my head in confusion. "He's staring again, isn't he?" I asked not even looking in his direction. Theo nodded and grinned. "Aww, you can sense him without even looking. Isn't that sweet Draco?!" Theo teased. "He's not the only one staring though. Since the beginning of this year, I've counted numerous students from all the houses staring. Not to mention the Beauxbatons boys and the Durmstrang guys." Blaise scoffed.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Draco demanded. I listened to them bicker for a while ignoring the urge to look over at Neville. I yawned and stretched. I caught a Beauxbatons boy staring as I stretched. I smiled at him and waved. My three bodyguards immediately glared at him until he focused on the Tournament. "Why?" I asked. "No!" was all they said in response.
I got a piggyback ride up to the castle from Theo. I was bone tired and in desperate need of sleep. "Theo is not a pillow or a bed Lis." Draco mumbled as I started to drift off. "He's not!" I gasped in mock shock. I rubbed my eyes and looked around. We were back in the common room. I slid off of Theo's back and stumbled towards my dorm. I stripped out of my clothes and curled up in me bed.
The next day I decided to spend relaxing, so I threw on a pair of old skinny jeans, a concert shirt, and a pair of sneakers. I grabbed my bag and threw my hair up in a ponytail as I walked around the castle. I already knew where I was going and let my feet lead me there. I sat in the alcove looking out onto the grounds. I hummed along to a tune that had been running around in my head for a while. I scribbled in my notebook as I went. I had most of my homework done so I tried out the first few lines.
This part of the school was normally deserted on the weekends so I could sing as loud as I wanted. My teacher praised me a lot for having a beautiful voice, but I thought I sound pretty normal compared to some of the other students. "You sound amazing!" Neville spoke softly from behind me. I jumped and turned. "How long have you been listening?" I gasped. He shrugged and looked at the ground. "A while now. I wanted to talk to you and then I saw you walking around so I followed you up here." he mumbled.
I rolled my eyes and smiled. "You're going to get me in trouble." I laughed. He looked confused for a moment. "Your bodyguards? They saw me looking at you again. I wasn't the only one. The way you were looking at the dragons made me want to watch you instead of the task." he admitted shyly. I managed a small smile at his words. "What did you want to talk about?" I asked. He kicked the floor with his feet instead of answering so I got up.
"Or did you just want to see me?" I asked walking over to him. He blushed and I smirked. "Did you not har what I told you last time?" I continued. "I heard you and I thought about it and I realized I don't care. I don't care about any of it. Even if you don't realize it now, I think you feel the same way. We can start off as friends if you want." he held out a hand. I eyed his hand a moment before taking it. He smiled and it was so heartwarming that I smiled without realizing it.
We sat in the alcove talking until dinner. "I'll see you around Nev." I laughed as we walked to our house tables. Draco was not happy when I sat down. "I made a new friend today." I smiled. Draco tsked at me and turned to Blaise. "I thought you made things clear?" Draco scoffed. "Since when is friendship a bad thing? You heard Lis. She made a new friend. Maybe Longbottom no longer has romantic feelings for her." Blaise smirked.
Draco turned back to me hopefully, but I was scribbling in my notebook again. "Are you sure Lis isn't dating Longbottom without you knowing?" Parkinson asked. I looked at her with absolute hatred. Theo chuckled "If you two are going to fight again can you wait until after dinner?" I rolled my eyes and finished eating. "You missed this morning's mail." Draco handed me a letter from the parentals. I opened it scanning quickly. I crumpled it up and tossed it into one of the torches on the wall. "You told them about people staring at me?" I cut my eyes at my brother. He shrugged and I stood up and stretched. "Ready to go?!" Luna asked. I wrapped an arm around her as we left the hall.
"Where did you go last night?" Blaise asked over breakfast the next morning. "Late night run." I answered quickly. He scoffed making me look up. "A late night run with Loony? Since when do you run?" he laughed. "Since first year. I find it very therapeutic." I tapped my fingers on the table. Classes dragged over the next few weeks. I was sitting in the library with Neville. "You should hurry up and find a date to the ball." I scolded. He gave me a look and rolled his eyes. "Don't be mad at me for getting a date before you could ask." I teased. I had been asked to the ball not two seconds after it had been announced.
"Go on. You can do it. I believe in you." I teased following him out of the library. He glared playfully at me making me laugh. "Who are you going with?" he asked. I waved a finger at him. "You'll find out at the ball. I might just show up with my bodyguards. I could show up with someone from another house. You're just being sulky cause someone asked before you could." I pouted tossing my hair over my shoulder.
"Why wouldn't I be sulky? I wanted to go with you, but you're taken already." he muttered. I smirked and stopped walking. "What?" he asked turning to look at me. "Good luck finding a date!" I kissed his cheek before going back to my dorm. I laid on my bed watching my roommates talk about their dresses and dates. "Who are you going with Amaryllis?" Daphne asking trying her shoes on. "A Slytherin as my family wants." I replied. "Is he in our year?" she asked with a trace of a smile. I gave her a teasing smile before hopping off my bed.
I rifled through her jewelry box and held up different pieces to her dress. "Wear these with the dress." I winked. She nodded and Parkinson turned to me. "Did you need something? Use your big girl words!" I teased. she huffed in frustration and grabbed her hair. "Can you help me too?" she managed. Daphne and I grinned. "Now was that so hard?!" I pouted. Parkinson started to glare but caught Daphne's eye. "Now, now Pansy! Lis is willing to help you, so behave." Daphne warned. I skipped over to Parkinson's things and picked out some jewelry that would best suit her and her dress.
I held her dress up and examined it a while. "Can I alter it? It doesn't suit you in the slightest. Matter of fact, I want to alter everyone's dresses." I frowned and waved my wand, so Pansy's dress floated in the air. "Sure! Need anything?" Daphne grinned. Parkinson gawked at me not moving from where she stood as I started changing her dress. "Something to eat and drink would be nice." I smiled.
"Parkinson should show off the curves she has so maybe a little lace?" I asked myself as I walked around the dress. I spent the rest of the day altering everyone's dresses and picking out matching accessories. I nibbled away on the last of my sandwiches Daphne had brought. "Are you not going to alter your dress?" Parkinson asked admiring her new dress. "I changed mine the first week we got here." I replied pointing to my shoes and accessories. They were plain before, but after I altered the dress, I'd altered the color to match my dress.
"Your brother wants to talk to you Amaryllis!" a first-year girl squeaked before running off. I sighed and got up from my desk where I had been writing an essay. I made my way to the common room and found my brother with his goons. I walked up quietly holding a finger to my lips to let the others know to keep quiet. I put my arm around Draco's neck. He jumped in surprise and pulled me down onto the couch. "What the hell?!" he chuckled. I shrugged and put my feet in his lap and leaned on Theo's shoulder. "What do you want? I just spent the whole day altering Yule Ball dresses." I yawned examining my fingernails.
"I just found out who your date is. Why didn't either of you tell me?" he scoffed. I turned to Theo with a smile. "Why didn't we tell the little overreactor?" I smirked. "It was because he's an overreactor." Theo chuckled. Draco smacked my head. "Am I overreacting right now?" he mumbled. "He will when he sees my dress." I whispered to Theo. Theo coughed and laughed. Blaise frowned and Theo leaned over and whispered what I'd just told him. Blaise nodded and turned to look into the fire, but I saw the hint of a smile there.
"You really spent the whole day altering dresses?" Draco sneered. "Of course. I wouldn't want somebody from my house showing up wearing something their parents thought looked good." I smirked. We spent the next hour joking about what our parents could have told us to wear to the ball.
I was still in my bath robe while my roommates dressed. I put on some red lipstick, a bit of blush, and mascara. I curled my hair, so it fell in gentle soft waves down my back. It was almost hip length, and I was proud of it. Mother would cut it in a heartbeat if she saw it. "Are you ready yet?" Parkinson groaned. I slipped out of my robe and into my dress and heels. The dress was green of course and made with satin and lace and hugged my body sensually. "There's the Malfoy princess in all her glory!" Daphne smiled. I put my jewelry on and sprayed a bit of perfume on before sliding the Malfoy ring on my finger. "You have to make sure everyone knows who you are and where you come from at all times Amaryllis!" I scoffed mimicking my mother's tone.
Daphne looped her arm through mine as we left dorm behind Parkinson. I slowed down and let Daphne go ahead to meet up with Blaise. I tucked my hair behind my ears to show off the piercings before walking into the common room. Theo put a hand over his heart and pretended to fall. I flipped him off and hurried over. "Ready?" I asked straightening his tie. "This is something I could get used to." he teased. I smirked and pinched his cheeks. "With the way my brother's glaring at you right now you should be happy if you survive tonight." I winked.
Theo and I looked over and saw Draco looking at us with a raised eyebrow. "I'm going to test something don't freak out." Theo whispered mischievously. I smiled and waved at my brother while Theo put a hand on my hip and pulled me closer with the other. Draco shook his head and waved a finger. Laughing Theo and I walked up to the Great Hall arm in arm. I walked around looking at the décor and thinking.
"I think your brother might try and kill me in my sleep." Theo whispered in my ear as he spun me around the dancefloor. I looked over and saw my brother shaking his head. "Shame! Poor Parkinson he should dance with her." I pouted. "Do you want to invite her into our dance?" he asked. I shrugged and we dragged her onto the dancefloor with us. I don't know how he managed to spin us both around without any mistakes or injuries, but it was fun. Parkinson smiled, she actually smiled. It was weird. I've never seen her smile except for when she's with Draco.
I took a drink break. On my way over to talk to my brother got asked to dance by a boy from Beauxbatons. I let him lead me onto the dancefloor and spin me around. He was quite fun and interesting. "You know a lot more than I first thought." he smirked. I hummed and pouted. "Are you sure you made the right assumptions about me?" I asked him with a playful smile. "I'm sure I didn't. I saw the way you watched the dragons during the first task. You had a pretty aura about you that distracted me from the fact that it was dragon. Anyone would've thought you were looking at a newborn kitten the way your eyes lit up." he whispered in my ear.
I laughed and hit his shoulder playfully. "Tell me more." I bit my lip as I looked into his eyes. "I would but I do believe your brother is on his way to break up our little party." he chuckled. I turned in time to see my brother stop beside us. "I need to borrow my sister for a moment." he smiled and led me to the garden outside. "Draco we were having fun! Why did you interrupt?" I whined. He raised an eyebrow. "Most of the guys in there kept staring at you and some looked like they were undressing with their eyes." he scoffed.
I tilted my head in confusion. "Oh please. You should be dancing with Parkinson. She looked so lonely and she has a date. That's not right." I pushed Draco back towards the party. Parkinson was sitting at the table eyeing the dancing couples with a sad expression. I shoved my brother in her direction before going to dance with Daphne who'd waved me over.
"Is his big brother mode on tonight?" she asked. I nodded and laughed. "His boyfriend mode should be on." I scoffed. She laughed as we danced around. Someone tapped my shoulder and I turned to see Neville. Daphne pointed with her eyes to the garden. I looked to make sure Draco was distracted before leading Neville to the garden.
Once I was sure we wouldn't be overheard I turned to him with my hands on my hips. "Neville are you crazy? You saw how overprotective my brother is being tonight." I whisper yelled. "I know but I just wanted to talk to you. You look so gorgeous." he whispered. I blushed under his gaze and turned away. The music could be heard from where we were standing, and he held out a hand to me.
I let him spin me around. "I would've been kicking myself later tonight if I didn't dance with you one time." he smiled at me as we danced. I let my head rest on his shoulder. "I'm really glad I got a chance to dance with you Nev." I whispered in his ear. The song was coming to a close as he dipped me. I stared up at him and felt my heart start to race. "We should get back to the party." He whispered picking me up. I blinked at him in surprise. He stared at me and then pulled me closer. I cupped his face with my hands and kissed him.
He put his hands on my hips and deepened the kiss. My fingers wound in his hair. I whimpered slightly as he broke the kiss making him smile. "I was enjoying that." I whined pulling him into another kiss. He backed me into the wall pinning me. "We should really get back to the party before your brother notices." he groaned cupping my face with his hands. I sighed and pouted at the ground.
"Not even one more?" I asked giving him my best puppy dog eyes. "Fine, one more and then we go back inside." he smiled at me. Our lips connected again I sighed in satisfaction. There was a rustling nearby and Harry and Ron walked by before doing a double take. "Neville?!" Ron gasped. I hid behind Neville and wrapped my arms around him. I waved at the other two. "I'm going back to the party Nev." I whispered in his ear before hurrying around the corner.
I checked my reflection in a mirror making sure my hair and make up were fine before going back into the party. "Where'd you go earlier?" Theo asked joining me at the punch bowl. I took a sip of my drink and looked around. "Kissing that Gryffindor again?" he whispered slyly. I smacked his shoulder. "Are we going to dance again or are you going to keep questioning me as my brother's friend?" I complained. "Both!" he chuckled pulling me onto the dancefloor.
"Question 1: Were you kissing Neville?" he asked spinning me. "Of course, she was. I made sure you guys were distracted so she could." Daphne giggled as she spun past with Blaise. "Question 2: Did you get caught? There have been a lot of people who came back inside after being caught by the staff." he wriggled his eyebrows. "Yes, we got caught. By his roommates. I left him there to answer their questions." I sighed. "His roommates caught you. Which roommates are you talking about?" Theo leaned closer. "Harry and Ron. They were so shocked when they walked past." I small smile lit up my face.
"You got caught what? With who? You were caught by whom?" Draco whispered in my ear. I jumped and turned. "I got caught doing nothing with no one and we were caught by no one and no one." I mumbled. Blaise and Daphne started laughing. I rolled my eyes and saw Neville walk back in with Ron and Harry. "Parkinson, I think my brother wants to go on a walk." I smiled and pushed the two out into the gardens.
"Question 3: Did you dance with him?" Daphne asked spinning me around. "Obviously, that's what led to them kissing?" Theo laughed. "You guys have to let me answer!" I complained putting my hands on my hips. "Should we invite Neville over and ask him?" Blaise smirked. I shook my head and pouted. Blaise turned my head and I saw Ron and Harry talking to Neville and pointing my way. They saw me looking and I waved politely.
Daphne covered my eyes with her hands and led me to our table. "Hey!" I whined. She uncovered my eyes and checked my make up. "Whew, that was dangerous. Your brother just came back in. You almost got caught young lady." she smacked my hand. I looked towards the entrance and sure enough there was my brother. I put my head on my hands and pouted.
Theo gave me a piggyback ride down to the common room since I was so tired. "Ugh, my feet hurt." I groaned kicking off my shoes. I cleaned the make up off my face and slipped out of my dress and climbed into bed. Daphne jumped on my bed and slid under my covers with me. "Get out of my bed." I grumbled rolling over. Parkinson climbed into my bed too and no matter how much groaning I did they never moved. I fell asleep on Parkinson's shoulder with one of Daphne's leg thrown over mine.
I stood in the stands between Theo and Draco watching the second task. "No journal today?" Theo asked leaning close. "No, not today." I mumbled tightening my scarf around my neck. He put an arm around me and pulled me close. "Who do you think is going to come out of the water first?" he asked. "With the task finished or incomplete?" I mumbled. "Task finished." he chuckled. "Cedric or Krum." I scoffed.
"Look!" I pointed to the water. Cedric emerged with Cho Chang. Theo slid me a small bag of gold. "When did you two make a bet?" Draco asked snatching the bag of money. "A while ago." I smirked snatching the bag back. Krum emerged next followed a while later by Harry. Blaise handed me a bag of gold with a slightly irritated expression. I clapped my hands together in glee. As more people passed, I collected more money. Draco leaned against the rails as I collected my money.
"For someone who isn't even interested in this Tournament you sure have collected a lot of money." Daphne laughed as we walked back up to the castle. Theo and Blaise were ignoring me. "Do you guys want to play a game with me and try and win your money back?" I asked wrapping my arms around their waists. "What game?" they asked looking at each other before turning to me.
I skipped around their defeated slumped figures. They'd lost many games trying to win their money back. "Honestly, you two. Why would you keep challenging her after so many losses?" Daphne scoffed staring at the broken Wizard's Chess pieces on the ground. I sighed and put my winnings in my bag. "What should I buy first?" I wondered. Theo slowly got up and started chasing around the common room. I slipped past a first year that had just walked in and ran through the dungeon with Theo on my heels.
He caught me and spun me around. I let out a squeal. "Did I make you mad?" I pouted. "Yes, of course you did. Do you realize how much money I lost to you today alone?" he growled. I frowned and started calculating. Theo picked me up and put me over his shoulder. "Come on little princess. Time for your punishment." he chuckled. I hit his back with my fist to no avail. "Theo! Put me down. I'll apologize." I tried hopefully.
Theo put me down in an empty classroom and I sat n a desk. "What is my supposed punishment?" I scoffed. Blaise stood in the door smirking. "Go on. You might be able to either beat her or talk sense into her." He chuckled waving someone forward. Neville slid past Blaise and looked around. Theo and Blaise left and closed the door behind them. I could hear them laughing in the hall still though. I sighed and turned to see Neville by my side already.
"Misbehaving?" he wondered sitting down across from me. "Not in the slightest. I'm a perfect young lady. I have no idea of what I'm being accused of." I sniffed pretending to be hurt. He raised an eyebrow. "What? You don't believe me. I thought we were friends." I frowned. He held up a hand to stop my pouting. "I saw you collecting money after the task. What are you going to do with it?" he asked with sincere interest. "Save it for a rainy day." I whispered. He let out a breathy laugh and pinched my cheeks.
"I can't talk you out of that." he laughed and ran his fingers through his hair. I leaned forward and poked his cheek. "How'd they get you here and how are you a punishment? You're more like a reward." I giggled. He blushed and turned in his chair. I slid from the top of my desk to his. "They told me something very different then what you're telling me. it doesn't matter. I tried to help them, but I can't. Time for me to go." he sighed. "What were Harry and Ron talking about at the Yule Ball when they were pointing at me?" I asked quietly.
Neville had been getting up to leave but sat back down. "They were shocked mostly. Then they thought you were using me. I didn't want to tell them that I made the first move. When you waved, they were stunned. Then your friends took you away and I saw Draco come back in, so I just left them there confused as hell." he sighed and held my hand. I smiled and bit my lip. "Every now and then they ask me about it, but I haven't said anything. You want to be friends for now and I can respect that." he kissed my hand.
"That's not what I said. I said we can be friends. I said nothing about being friends for now." I grumbled. Neville stood up and pulled me towards him. "You say one thing but mean another. When you kissed me at the Yule Ball you said something entirely different. Not with words but actions. You pulled me into a kiss. Three times. Of your own accord. Why is that?" he whispered looking deep into my eyes. A shiver ran through me as he spoke.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I blushed looking away. "Besides, who was it that backed into a wall while kissing me? You." I mumbled. He turned my face back to his. "Excuse me, but I also remember you saying you enjoyed kissing me." he grumbled. Our lips were almost touching. "You keep pulling me closer." I whispered. He leaned down and kissed me. I gasped and he deepened the kiss. He broke the kiss and stared at me. I put my head on his shoulder.
"Did I catch you off guard?" he mumbled. I wrapped my arms around him and started kissing his neck. "What are you doing?" he groaned. "One hickey for every offense. One for helping Blaise and Theo. Two for not asking me to dance at the Yule Ball sooner. Three for breaking our kisses. Four for pulling me towards you and saying I was the one who started it. And five for friendship." I softly kissed each hickey before sliding off the desk.
I left him standing there stunned. I waved as I passed Blaise and Theo and hurried down to dinner. They followed after me in shock. "What happened?" Daphne asked as I sat next to her. I put my head on her shoulder. "They set up an awfully mean punishment for me because I beat them at all those games." I whined pointing at Blaise and Theo. Daphne leaned over to them and they started whispering about the punishment.
Neville walked in looking dazed still. "Our punishment didn't work as well as we thought it would." Theo scoffed nodding at Neville then doing a double take. He got up and walked over to Neville. They talked in whispered voices with Theo occasionally glancing my way. Blaise and Daphne looked confused until Theo pulled down Neville's shirt showing them the five darkening hickeys I'd put on his neck this afternoon.
"Merlin's beard! What happened to him?" I gasped feigning innocence. They looked at me and I blinked back at them. "What?!" I mumbled. "You are wrong for that on some many different levels." Theo scoffed sitting back down. I shrugged and kept eating. I did catch some of his fellow Gryffindors looking my way during dinner. Luna skipped over after dinner and sat in my lap.
We went for a midnight run and fed the Thestrals. I laid on the ground and stared up at the sky. "You like Neville but won't admit." Luna smacked my forehead. I whined and rubbed my forehead. "We're just friends." I muttered. She smacked my arm. "You can be a bit of an idiot sometimes, you know that right?" she snickered and nudged me with her arm. "I could see those hickeys from across the hall. Why five?" she wondered.
I hopped up and dusted myself off before setting off for the castle. She chased after me teasing me all the way back inside. I ruffled her hair and sent her up to her common room. Draco stood at the common room entrance with his arms crossed and glaring at me. "I went for a run. What are you still ding up?" I asked shrugging out of my jacket. "Keep away from Longbottom for the rest of the year." he ordered.
I looked him up and down and kept walking. He grabbed my arm and spun me around. "I don't want you anywhere near him." he growled. "You're not my parent. You are my brother. All I'm doing is hanging out with my friends, studying, and keeping out of trouble. Stop butting in you satanic ferret!" I grumbled yanking my arm from his grip.
I was toweling my hair off after my shower when I caught Parkinson talking. "I think she likes him more than her own house. I mean honestly think about it. First Loony and now Longbottom. A Ravenclaw and a Gryffindor. I've known for a while now the girl had no real taste. She may be the Malfoy family princess, but she acts worse than the Mudblood Granger sometimes. Back in 1st year I thought that maybe her family only kept her around because people had already seen her with them, and they couldn't throw her out in the streets. I think if she was born into my family, we would've thrown her out regardless." Parkinson sneered. The group of girls around her cackled and nodded in agreement.
"If you have something to say to me Parkinson you should say it to my face you sneaky bitch!" I growled. She jumped and turned. "I didn't see you there Amaryllis!" she tried to laugh it off as I approached. Everyone in the showers stopped what they were doing. I continued to walk towards Parkinson as she backed up. "If you have something to say to me you say it to my face. Do you understand? What did you say about me?" I growled. "I said you act worse than the Mudblood Granger. What are you going to do about it?" she tried to act confident.
I grabbed a handful of her hair and slammed her backwards into the shower. The water was still running, and we were drenched in seconds. I had her pinned beneath me as I mercilessly slapped her face. "Don't. You. Ever. Talk. Badly. About. Me! Or. My. Friends! Again! I. Don't. Want. To. Have. This. Conversation. Again. Do. You. Understand. Me. You. Bitch!" I growled in between slaps. She whined pathetically beneath me. People started trying to pull us apart. I pushed them off of me and kicked Parkinson in the stomach and started punching her in the face.
She desperately crawled away from me, but I dragged her back her leg. Teachers arrived and they were finally able to separate us. "You crazy bitch!" Parkinson yelled. I had no scratches or any signs of being in a fight while Parkinson was nearly unrecognizable. Some of the girls were snickering or had their hands over their faces to hide their laughter. I took a deep calming breath and toweled off quickly getting dressed. I left without being questioned by any of the teachers.
Daphne hurried into the Great Hall and rushed over once she saw me. "I just heard you got into a fight!" she shrieked as she sat down. I examined myself and shook my head. "I don't think so. If I were in a fight, I would think there would be some injuries on my body, but there are none. So, I was not in a fight. Me and Parkinson were just talking." I scoffed and picked up a piece of toast. "I heard Pansy was nearly unrecognizable by the time Amaryllis was done with her." a 2nd year giggled as she passed with her friends.
Blaise gave me a thumbs up while Theo snickered and shook his head. I had just started on a croissant when Draco hurried over looking very upset. "What the hell Lis?!" he grumbled picking up a piece of toast. I quickly explained what she'd said and what I had done. Draco closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. "You could tone it down a little next time." he groaned rubbing his eyes. Theo choked on his drink. "Next time? There's going to be a next time?" Blaise leaned forward his curiosity peaked.
"You saw her on the first night back and just now they fought in the showers. Trust me there will be a next time." Daphne laughed. "A fight between two girls in the shower?" Blaise asked raising his eyebrow. "It was a one-sided fight if I'm being honest. I'd barely call it a fight. I have no scratches, no bitemarks, nothing. The only thing she knows how to do is trash talk. Why do I even waste my time?" I pouted. I heard scribbling beside me and saw Draco had written down the whole fight as I was talking and was sending the letter home to mother and father.
"How do you get out of a fight with not even a scratch?" Daphne asked. I took off my robe and rolled up my sleeves showing I was perfectly fine. "Blaise I would prefer it if you stopped thinking about the fact that they were fighting in the showers. I don't want my sister in playing a part in your wank fantasies later." Draco sneered. Blaise shrugged "I can only try."
Draco examined my arms out of the side of his eyes. "Where did you learn to fight?" he asked slightly confused. "It doesn't matter where I learned it." I mumbled. "You said the same thing when you came home with belly button piercing. 'It doesn't matter where I got it from!'" he mimicked. Blaise and Theo leaned forward. Draco held my robe in front of me as I pretended to lift my shirt.
I put my robe on and kept eating. The teachers came in and headed for the staff table. "How much do you want to bet she gets detention?" Theo turned to Blaise with a sneaky smile. I finished eating and left with Daphne. It was nearly a week later by the time I got my detention slip. Parkinson was back from the Hospital Wing and apologetic. She stood behind Draco as she apologized. "I'm sorry for what I said." she mumbled.
"See, that's the thing though. I don't believe you. I don't believe you in the slightest." I scoffed twirling my wand in my fingers. She turned to Draco who was shaking his head fighting back a laugh. "I can't help you here." he laughed. She kicked the ground with her feet. "When you can manage an actual proper apology like anyone else our age let me know." I smacked her cheeks and left the Great Hall.
I went up to the library to look for a book. I was halfway through a stack of books I'd gathered when Theo sat down. "Merlin's beard! You know where the library is?!" I gasped teasingly. "I'll have you know my grades are better than yours. Not as good as Blaise's or Draco's but I still rank higher than you." he smirked. "Aww, sweetie. I'm not even trying. I'm in the top 5 of our class and I'm not even trying. Could you imagine if I actually tried?" I teased. he frowned and rolled his eyes. "What'd you want Theo?" I asked closing my book.
"I'm just here to hang out with a fellow Slytherin." he grabbed a book from my stack and started reading. "Sure, thing buddy." I scoffed opening my book. I kept reading until I was done with all of the books. It was well after the sun had gone down. Theo helped me put the books back. We left the library before Madam Pince could snap at us. "I don't understand how you could stay in there all day." Theo frowned.
I shrugged and held my arms out. "You are such a baby." he muttered as he walked over putting me on his back. "I missed dinner cause of you." he mumbled. "Get Draco to reimburse you. Tell the satanic ferret I sent you. He'll make sure you're well and fed." I kissed Theo's cheek. "You should really stop kissing, touching, and getting so much help from me and Blaise now that you have someone special in your life." he scolded.
"I don't know who you're talking about." I yawned. He muttered something but I didn't catch it. Theo put me down in the common room. "Good night bodyguard." I mumbled. "Bodyguard?" Theo smirked. "I know Draco sent you up to the library to find me. Probably saw Neville in there and that's why you stayed with me all day." I stood on tip toe so I could pat the top of his head. "You knew?" he smiled. I nodded. "Why else would Draco or anyone else in my family send people they trust to look after me? You could just say 'fuck it I'm not going, and I refuse to do whatever my parents' wish.'" I giggled tiredly. I waved and stumbled off in the direction of my dorm.
I slid into Daphne's bed and fell asleep. She tried to wake me in the morning, but I rolled over wrapping my arms around her. "I'm tired. Do you think I can skip class today? I'm just not feeling it." I murmured in her ear. She wormed herself out of my hold and slid out of bed. "I'll bring you some food later." she mumbled as she got dressed. I nodded and went back to sleep.
I felt someone pulling me up a few hours later. I opened my eyes to find Daphne pulling me out of her bed. "Why?!" I groaned. "Your brother wants to talk to you." she whispered. I got up and changed into a pair of shorts and a tank before going to go talk to him. As soon as he spotted me, he pulled me out of the common room. He stopped once we were on the grounds. I sat down and folded my arms. "What?" I looked up at him.
