A Cup of Coffee

Caitlin Snow sits and waits at Jitters coffee shop on her phone scrolling through emails and text messages to kill time.

A man then walks up to her to greet her.

"Doctor Snow?"

Caitlin looks up to see to her surprise Bruce Banner. What made us surprising was he was no longer in his Hulk form.

"Doctor Banner?" she asked looking confused.

"I know it's a bit confusing. I assume you were expecting someone bigger and green?" Bruce joked.

"No it's just...I don't think I've ever seen you like this. Please sit." she tells him.

"Hope I didn't keep you waiting long." said Bruce.

"No. Not long. I appreciate you coming to meet me on such short notice" said Caitlin.

"Of course." said Bruce.

"I really should be thanking you a bunch. Your cousin helping out Frost." said Caitlin.

"Yep. That's my Jen. Best of the best when it comes to Superpowered Lawyers. You know when I was told that you and Frost separated bodies and became literal roommates my first instinct was to rush all the way to Central City and study it. Maybe could work something similar with the big guy" said Bruce.

Caitlin smiles softly.

"Scientific curiosity always gets the better of us huh?" she asked.

"Suppose it does" replied Bruce.

"So. I think we waited long enough. How about some coffee?" Caitlin asks.

After being served their coffee the two continuing their chat, catching up with their lives and whatnot.

"So what's been new with you? Surely after returning to your normal body and with the Avengers finding their new footing has kept you busy Surely.

"We came across someone in possession of ancient artifacts as old as many millenia ago. Ten rings of great power. Not made of anything known in terms of elements on earth. Not even Vibranium. Our guess it's purely Cosmic energy." Explained Bruce.

"Who has these rings?" Asked Caitlin.

"His name is Shang-Chi. His dad supposedly held those rings prior for 1000 years. Something like that alone makes you wonder how such a thing is possible. Welcome to the circus right?" said Bruce.

"What else do you know?" Caitlin asked.

"Those rings are a beacon. We don't know for who or what yet? But for now the rings stay with Shang-Chi under his protection. One of our guys, Wong is working close with him on those rings. The kid has zero idea about the direction his life is about to take going forward." said Bruce.

"Wow." Caitlin said in awe.

"Carol is supposedly on her way back to earth because of something supposedly on its way here. Knowing her and how busy she usually is in Space, this can't be a good thing. Definitely not a vacation." said Bruce.

"Nothing she can't handle right?" said Caitlin.

"God I hope so" said Bruce taking a sip of coffee.

Then the TV at the coffee shop played a broadcast of the Central City News.

"We're live at the scene where it appears The Flash is locked on a battle with a being from outer space. I'm not suehow much longer our hero could last. This may certainly be too much for The Flash!"

"Oh no" said Bruce and Caitlin.

The End.

The Story continues in Armageddon.
