CHAPTER 1

As he remained in his room with all the possible entrances and exits blocked off , he could not help but wonder how this had day had started normal enough.

flashback

earlier that day

He had woken up earlier than usual and which had meant that he might actually manage to make to the Academy a few minutes early.

He would normally be late but he wasn't going to start complaining about the fact that he was going to make it early cause it would make Iruka sensei really happy that he was taking his studies seriously and when he was happy with him he would buy him more ramen. A happy smile made it to his face as he thought about ramen.
Then the grin was wiped off his face when he remembered that he had skipped class yesterday to pull that prank on that mean old man who refused sell anything to him , even though he had the money. At least he had gotten him good , he thought to himself as he entered his class with a wide grin on his face and went to sit in his usual seat when Sakura shouted to him
"Naruto" he let a wide grin grace his face as Sakura motioned to the empty sit beside her,a pretty smile he had only seen her ever give Sasuke on her face as she said "come sit with me ".He briefly wondered whether this was a cruel prank of hers to bring his hopes up or whether he might still be in his bed sleeping and this might be another one of his dreams , but before he could could test whether this was a dream or not a loud voice interrupted his thoughts
"you must have lost all your brain cells if you think Naruto or anyone would want to sit with you Forehead", Ino shouted
from her seat."Have you lost your capacity to retain memories Piggy , because you seem to have forgotten that Naruto likes me"
,Sakura said emphasizing the word 'likes'.

Ino laughed openly as she said that "and you must be delusional if you think Naruto would want to be with you when he can be with me" turning towards
Naruto she gave him her best smile as she said "come here and sit with me Naruto, i even got some of your favourite ramen from
Ichiraku" ,unsealing a bowl of delicious ramen from a scroll.

Naruto was officially confused he pinched himself hard to make sure he wasn't dreaming as he watched on as Ino and Sakura continued
shouting at each other as to why they deserved to be with more than the other . Sakura claimed to know Naruto more while Ino claimed to have more
in common with him. He briefly wondered if he was under a genjutsu as e looked around the class and he noted that the rest of the class
was also in different degrees of shock just like him though Kiba seemed more irritated with the noise more than
anything else , while Shikamaru and Choji just seemed amused with what they were seeing .He absently noted that Sasuke wasn't in the class yet.

He was pulled out of his thoughts when Iruka sensei and Sasuke entered the classroom . Iruka shouted at Ino and Sakura to stop their shouting match which had turned physical with them pulling on each others hair , he told Naruto to take his seat.
In the end he somehow ended up in between Sakura and Ino ,with both of them leaning towards him with a loving smile adorning both of their faces , he decided distract himself from them so he turned his attention towards Iruka sensei who had just wrapped up his speech about how proud he was of all of them.
"Now i will announce your teams" ,Iruka said with a proud smile as he looked around the class though he sweatdropped
when he saw how Naruto was wrapped up between Ino and Sakura .He briefly wondered if the both of them were under a genjutsu before letting the thought go ,he had a job to do focus Iruka focus he mentally berated himself before looking at the paper in in hand and started announcing the teams.
"Team 1 Fuuki Kaze, Rikuo Tachibana , Ami Fujisaki" he went on
announcing the teams.
"Team 7 Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha , Sakura Haruno "
Naruto groaned most likely because he was in the same team as Sasuke ,while Sakura loudly celebrated the fact that she was
in the same team as Naruto, while Sasuke had no visible reaction to this and Ino just glared at Sakura.
"Team 8 Hinata Hyuuga, Shino Aburame, Kiba Inuzuka"
the members of team 8 just glanced at each other smiled, though he wasn't sure whether Shino was smiling because he couldn't see his mouth.

"Team 10 Shikamaru Nara, Chouji Akimichi, Ino Yamanaka"
there was no reaction ,nothing at all he had thought that Ino would have loudly expressed her unhappiness at being put
on a team with Chouji and Shikamaru .Instead she was ignoring her team and trying to feed Naruto ramen with Sakura protesting that she should be the one to feed him , while Chouji just continued eating some chips as if nothing interesting happened while Shikamaru continued on napping oblivious to the chaos taking hold.

He told everyone that their jounin sensei's would be arriving in about an hour to
collect them, he left his class as soon as possible. He sighed loudly as he wondered what was happening, he wondered if he was the one under a genjutsu and tried dispelling happened , so he continued walking as he thought about what he had seen . Sakura and Ino had been fighting about
who would get to sit near Naruto of all people, they had ignored Sasuke completely and surprisingly enough none of the other fangirls expressed their indignation at not being put on a team with their Sasuke.

He wondered if they were also shocked at seeing Sasuke's loudest and most loyal fangirls Ino and Sakura switching their
affection from Sasuke the Rookie of the year to Naruto the dead last .He continued to wonder about what exactly happened but then decided the headache he would most likely get from thinking about it was not worth it , they had their own jounin sensei's now. All of them were no longer his problem let the jonin worry for them now and Iruka walked out the Academy feeling more free than ever.

Soon after Iruka left Shikamaru stopped pretending to be asleep .As he surveyed the chaos in the class room , as he watched Sakura and Ino bicker about who would make Naruto more happy he concluded one thing.'I am not the only one ' .Why couldn't I have found a different room to nap. He couldn't help but think about how this would affect the timeline. He was sure about one thing it was all going to be so troublesome he thought as let out a loud sigh.
