Blind Love

Chapter 1: Noah and Liza Marie

Noah Puckerman wakes up to the sound of Liza Marie Anderson screaming, "Dada and Papa, I can't see you!" repeatedly. Yet he couldn't see either, and he asked, "Quinn, where are you?"

Before, he feels someone hold his hand and hears Quinn ask, "Puck, Can't you see me?" Noah just says, "No, I can't! What fucking happened to me and Liza Marie? Why can't we see?"

Then Noah hears Liza Marie crying and hears her say, "Take me to Uncle Nono! I want Uncle Nono! G'pa, please take me to Uncle Nono!"

Soon, Noah feels a child being set on his lap and feels her hands on his face before he says, "Liza Marie, is that you?"

Then Liza Marie starts to cry as she lays her head on his chest and Quinn says, "There was an explosion at the base. After, Burt took me to pick up my parents from the airport. You were found holding Liza Marie..."

Liza Marie interrupts Quinn saying, "My Nana Carole, Dada, and Papa are with Uncle Finn. Uncle Nono, I remember what happened. We were coming back from the bathrooms when it happened. There was a loud boom and people were screaming. Then something hit my face before there was another loud boom."

As Liza Marie says what she remembered, Noah asks, "Did your face feel like you were being stung by bees, Liza Marie ?"

Liza Marie whispers, "Yes!" Before she started to cry again.

Then Noah says, "Could you see if Liza Marie can share a room with me?"

There was no answer. Which made Noah say," I really don't give a shit if it's not allowed! Liza Marie feels safe with me here! I want us to share a fucking room! I bet Kurt would have been just as pissed as I am right fucking now! That those fucking assholes don't care about making Liza Marie feel safe!"

When Noah and Liza Marie were moved to a room. Cooper and Rachel came to see Liza Marie, not knowing Noah was awake as they spoke. As Noah lay there, he heard Cooper say, "Mom and Dad don't want Liza Marie. They were wondering if you did."

Then Rachel says, "I can't take her, Jesse and I agreed I would focus on my career after she was born."

This made Noah say, "Bullshit! You are real pieces of work! Liza Marie is fucking blind and her flesh and blood family don't want her! You know what, I want her, and I am not going to abandon her like you are so fucking willing to do!"

Then Noah hears Burt and Quinn say, "Same here!" Before, Quinn says, "You know, I was foolish when I gave up Beth without thinking of Puck's feelings! I am not going to abandon Liza Marie and Puck! When they both need me and I know it will be hard taking care of them! But if I turn my back on them now, I am no fucking better than you! Now, get the hell out of here and never come back!"

And Burt says, "Rachel, I am shocked that you are willing to give up so easily on Liza Marie! Puck is a good man, and I am sure he'll be a great father to Liza Marie!"

Noah feels Burt take his hand before saying, "I may not be Liza Marie's flesh and blood, but I am still her grandfather, and I will not abandon her as you did! I stepped down as a congressman, and I bought back my old shop as well. Sarah called me after she heard about Liza Marie, she was afraid I would abandon her, too." Then Noah feels Burt's hand trembling before he says, "I didn't turn my back on Kurt after I lost Elizabeth, and I am not giving up on Liza Marie or Puck!"

Then Noah hears footsteps and Liza Marie whispers, "Bitch!" under her breath before she asks, "Grandpa Burt, could you put me on Dada Nono's lap?"

Soon Noah felt Liza Marie sitting on his lap after someone raised the head of the bed more, so he was sitting up. Before he wraps his arms around a shaking Liza Marie and says to Burt, "I know, I am not Finn or Kurt but…"

Then Burt interrupts Noah saying, "You have been like a son to me for a while now, and I am glad you are not Finn or Kurt. I love them, but I felt like you would have done a better job running the shop. Ha, I have watched you working on your truck a lot before I married Carole. Ha, I also inspected your work when you would bring it in for a tune up. Look, I know, you are blind, but I also know you are a fast learner. So, when you are ready there will be a job waiting for you at the shop."

This made Noah cry before he said, "Why would you help me? If I didn't invite Kurt and Blaine here…"

Then Liza Marie hits Noah's chest before saying, "Dada Nono, this wasn't your fucking fault! You didn't bomb the base, and you didn't kill Dada Kurt, Nana Carole, or Papa Blaine! Now, stop feeling sorry for yourself because I need you to be strong now!"

Then Noah hears Quinn and Burt laughing before Quinn says, "Liza Marie, you took the words right out of my mouth!"

After moving back to Lima, Noah and Liza Marie start doing months of physical therapy and getting used to using a walking cane. Plus, learning to read braille.

Soon, Noah went to work and Liza Marie started school. When Liza Marie sat at her desk, she got a text from Noah that said, "You got this, You are a Puckerman now! Show those kids just how tough you are, My Little Princess! Love Daddy Hulk!"

Later that day, Quinn sent Burt a video of Liza Marie fighting with a group of boys in the park and the message, "I wish Puck could see this! She doesn't have a scratch on her!" As Burt watched the video, he was reminded of the fight scene in the movie Daredevil with young Matt Murdock and his bullies.

Soon, Noah asks, "Burt, what are you watching there?" Burt just says, "Your Little Daredevil fighting ten boys all by herself. Remember the scene in the movie where young Matt Murdock fought his bullies' after he became blind?"

Noah frowns before he says, "God, this sucks! Am I going to have to rely on my imagination forever!?"

Burt didn't know what to say, so he just said, "I don't know, Puck. But I will be here to help you through it. You know, Quinn told me that Liza Marie and you will be starting group therapy together tomorrow."

Noah just says, "Liza Marie had been doing it since this happened and told me if I didn't go with her tomorrow. She was going to sing the Baby Shark song until I said I would go. Let's just say I said I didn't care, and she sang the song for three hours. Until Quinn was begging me to just tell her I would go. Ha, I let it go on for another hour before I said I would go, and Quinn made me sleep on the couch last night. Ha, but Liza Marie snuck me into her room after Quinn went to bed. She even helped me to the bathroom when I had to go and waited on me to ask if I was going to go to sleep with Quinn or her. Ha, Quinn heard her and yelled, "Liza Marie, you two might have made up, but I am still pissed at Daddy Nono!"

This made Burt chuckle and say, "I let Liza Marie sing that song for four hours once, and Carole wouldn't talk to me for a week. Ha, Rachel's dad told me after this that Rachel sang the song Tomorrow from Annie for six hours before her Papa caved. Ha, she wanted to go see the musical and her Dad kept telling her no."

Noah chuckles as he says, "Figures, I knew Liza had to have got that from Rachel. God, I couldn't stand her as a girlfriend, now I have a mini Rachel as a daughter."

After Noah says this, he hears Azimio say, "Hey, Mr. Hummel! How does it feel, going from having a faggot son to having a blind one?"

Then he heard Liza Marie scream and Burt say, "Holy shit!" Before he heard Liza Marie yell at Azimio, "That's my new daddy you're talking about you son of a bitch, and I am not going to let you bully him like you did my dada! Go to fucking hell, you asshole!" Soon, Noah heard Liza Marie's cane before he felt her hands on his legs.

That night, as Noah lay in bed, he heard Liza Marie ask Quinn, "Mama Quinnie, Why are there people like Meanie Z? Why can't people just accept each other and not bully each other?"

Quinn just said, "I don't know Liza Marie, but I am glad Daddy Nono isn't like that anymore. Now, get some sleep. Okay?"

Soon Noah feels Quinn getting in bed with him, and she says, "Puck, Liza Marie beat the shit out of Z. Ha, he looks like Mike Tyson beat him up. I think we have our hands full with her."

Noah frowns and says, "I don't know how you can handle all this, Babe? I am going fucking crazy here! I wanted to be the one protecting Liza Marie, not her protecting me! I feel like such a fucking failure!"

Then he hears Liza Marie say, "Daddy, you are not a failure! Now, go to fucking sleep, so I can!"

Which made Quinn laugh before saying, "She might have come from Blaine and Rachel, but that is definitely your daughter there." Soon they are all asleep, and the house is quiet.

The next day, as they enter the room where group therapy was being held, Noah hears the voice of Dave Karofsky say, "Hey Liza Marie, I see you got your new daddy to come finally."

Then Dave asks Quinn, "So, How did you get him to come?"

Quinn just glares at Liza Marie and says, "Don't ask."

Before they set in a circle of chairs with some other men. As Noah listened to the stories, he felt Liza Marie take his hand and after hearing one guy talk about how he had become blind. Liza Marie asked, "Did it feel like bees were stinging your face, while they were on fire?"

This made Noah cry, knowing he didn't feel that way, and she did. Then he says, "Quinn left with Burt to go get her parents while we were watching the air show at the base. Then Liza Marie had to go to the bathroom and I went with her. It wasn't an explosion, two planes crashed. Liza Marie was calling out for me and her dad's. It was like a war zone." Soon Noah was crying, and Liza Marie was crawling onto his lap.

Then Quinn said, "Puck, I wanted to tell you and Liza Marie what really happened the day Rachel came to see Liza Marie, but the doctors told me not to."

This made Liza Marie get up and pick up a desk and throw it across the room. Before, Noah asked, "Liza Marie, did you just throw a desk across the room?" She doesn't say a word before Noah says, "I know you are pissed, Little Daredevil."

Then Liza Marie says, "Daddy Nono, you were reading my mind. I didn't say anything!"

Noah walks over to a five hundred pound barrel and lifts it up with one arm. Before saying, "How the hell is this possible? What happened to me and Liza Marie?"

Liza Marie just says, "We're superheros! Like Daredevil!"

After which Dave says, "I agree with Liza Marie, Puck. Plus, Quinn and I are the only ones that could see that!"

Then, the man that became blind due to an explosion says, "I would do anything to be like Matt Murdock."

After the meeting, when they got home, Quinn sent the video she made of Liza Marie and Noah to Burt. Before Burt calls, saying, "Well, that explains how Liza Marie could beat the crap out of Azimio. I just hope you two don't dress in tights like Blaine used to."

Noah laughs before saying, "I will just wear my army gear, Burt. Hell, I might be strong like the Hulk, but I'm not bulletproof! I might even have Quinn make Liza some protective gear."

Before Quinn and Burt say together, "Liza Marie is not going to be fighting crime with you!"

This made Liza Marie get red in the face and say, "You just said something about us both dressing up like Papa used to! Besides, you can't keep my strength a secret from everyone! Hell, I beat up Z and those boys at the park in front of other people! Plus, if you don't let me go fight crime with Daddy Nono. I'll sing the Baby Shark song again!"

This made Quinn cave immediately before mumbling, "Lord, I am not going through that again!" Under her breath, she glared at Noah, who was trying to stifle a laugh. Which earned him another night on the couch.

When Noah got up to go to the bathroom this time, he did go back to his and Quinn's bedroom before saying, "I'm sorry, Babe. But you have to admit it was pretty funny."

"Says the person that hid my headphones on top of the refrigerator! That's why I made you sleep on the fucking couch last time! You should have told Mr. H. the whole story, and it was nine hours, not four! You know what? I'll sleep on the couch, because there is no way I'm going to be able to sleep with you when I am so pissed at you right now!" Quinn says as Noah feels the bed move before he hears Quinn cussing, as she goes to the living room to lay on the couch. Then Noah hears her scream, "Puck, you asshole! It smells like someone died on the couch!"

Then he hears Liza Marie giggle before Quinn says, "Oh, shut up, Mini Rachel! I'm still mad about that stunt you pulled last night! God, you two are going to drive me crazy!"

The next morning, Noah and Liza Marie wake up to Quinn slamming cabinet doors and mumbling again. Before they hear Burt say, "Come on, Quinn, it couldn't have been that bad!"

Before Quinn screams, "Mr. H, you haven't been living with those two for the last few months! Liza Marie and Puck are partners in crime, alright! It's like there are two Pucks here, and if Liza Marie isn't acting like Puck! She is like a Mini Rachel! I know they are both blind and are dealing with it the best way they know how. But I am about to go fucking crazy here! I mean, I feel like I need a break from them sometimes!"

Then Noah hears Liza Marie say, "Are you going to leave Mama Queenie? I'm sorry for being like Mama Rachel, but I am her daughter! Please don't leave me like she did! I'll be a good girl, I promise!"

Soon Liza Marie is crying and Noah hears her running down the hall. Before he feels her climbing onto the bed and lying on top of him. Then he hears Quinn clear her throat before he says, "Go! Take your fucking break! I didn't know Liza Marie and I were that much of a burden to you!"

Noah feels the bed dip before Quinn says, "Puck, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I was just stressed out. Okay?"

Then Liza Marie says, "Mama Queenie, that really hurt my feelings! I lost one Mama because I went blind, I don't want to lose you too."

Quinn moves again before she is hugging them both and says, "I'm not going anywhere. Okay?"

Then Noah said, "Don't scare us like that again, Babe, and please just talk to me next time you feel like that. Plus, Mr. H, if she talks to you again, I want to know about it."

To which Burt says, "You got it, son. Now, why don't we take the Squirt with us today? So, Mama Quinn can have that break."

Soon they are at the shop and Noah is working on a truck engine with Burt as Liza Marie is in the office coloring in a coloring book. When they heard Azimio ask, "Where's your little protector today, Puck?"

Burt continues working as he says, "She's around here, but I doubt she wants to see you here. Plus, don't you remember? It was her that put your arm in that cast there." Then Liza Marie says, "Hey! Asshole! Do you want me to put that other arm in a cast too?!"

Soon Noah hears him laughing before he hears someone running off. Then Burt's buddy Mick says, "Liza Marie made Z piss himself as the guys and I stood behind her. Sorry about the last time Liza Marie attacked Z before we could get to him."

Then Noah feels Liza Marie take his hand and lead him into the office. Before saying, "Say it, Daddy Nono! I know you are pissed that I saved your butt again. Now say it!"

Noah gets red in the face before he yells, "It's not fucking fair, Liza Marie ! I'm the adult here! I should be saving you! I mean, you have been able to use your strength and I have yet to pummel the shit out of anyone! I feel like a coward here!"

When they walk out of the office, Burt comes up to them and says, "Puck, you are not a coward. Okay? Plus, I doubt Z will be showing his face around town, once everybody finds out he pissed himself out of fear of a toddler." This makes both men laugh before Noah says, "You're right. That was pretty funny."
