Author's Notes: I am reposting some of my fics because I just deleted all of them in AO3 and some in fanfiction. (All those kudos, comments and subs gone with just a click of a button) Why did I do that? Its because my mental state frayed and I went spiraling out of control. Now, I'm still recovering from the aftermath of my own mental breakdown. I'm writing my own self-indulgent novel to help with recovery and I will be updating some of the stories which I have written so far.
"Excuse me,"
A soft voice suddenly interrupts his reading and he looks up from his book to see a young woman - no more than twenty years old - staring at him with an expectant expression on her otherwise ordinary face. Despite her unremarkable features, there is something about her gleaming, seafoam eyes that holds his attention.
"Yes?" He asks the woman, whom he now considers more of a girl than woman if compared to his long existence.
"Is this seat taken?" the slip of a girl dares to ask him.
Completely taken off guard, Aoku Shigaraki's brows disappears beneath his hairline.
He is surprise at the girl's boldness, the utter lack of propriety, and he briefly notes the way the girl's lips curl in an amused smile that doesn't quite reflect the hidden challenge in her emerald eyes.
(Eyes that seems to hide a whole world within them. Eyes the seems to blaze with an inner light and a promise of something eternal and yet with a hint of death.)
For a long while, he regards her in silence. Long enough to be uncomfortable for anyone. Yet the girl appears unbothered by his slow and close inspection. She remains standing there with her pale, delicate fingers resting at the top of the chair while she waits for his response.
He can tell that she would have waited for an eternity if he wishes it.
In the end, however, he nods his head and says, "No, it's not taken."
"Oh, great!" the girl exclaims.
A beat later, she plops herself on the chair across from him and flashes him a radiant smile.
(A smile so brilliant in its intensity that even a cold-hearted monster like him can feel its direct heat thawing his frozen heart and feels its radiance warming the blood in his veins.)
He soon finds himself completely enthralled by her.
The girl, on the other hand, seems to be entirely oblivious at the fact.
Aoku watches as the strange girl swiftly turns her attention to her shabby backpack where she starts rummaging the contents within.
Curious, he observes how the green-haired girl suddenly takes out a thick tome while she declares loudly, "Found it!"
"What's that?" He can't help but ask as he eyes the mysterious black tome in her hand.
"Something to read of course while I keep you company," the girl replies with a cheerful grin.
A frown mars his brows at the girl's odd statement, "Keep me company? What makes you think I need one?"
Then, all of a sudden, Aoku's eyes narrows in suspicion when he realizes that there is something strange in their entire exchange, which warrants a closer examination.
"Do you know who I am?" He asks the girl.
In response, the girl cocks her head to the side and looks him in the eye, "Of course, I know who you are."
At once, he tenses up and prepares himself for the inevitable.
"You are Mr. Broody," The girl finishes with a melodic laugh that reminds him of a half-forgotten song. "I've seen you frequenting this little coffee shop and brooding around this corner that I've started calling you Mr. Broody."
Once again, he listens as the the girl lets out another carefree laughter after her admission.
Aoku Shigaraki stares and stares while something warm and close to tenderness seeps into the arteries that surrounds his cold, black heart.
He shortly notes the way his heart beats a little bit faster.
For a moment, he acknowledges that the girl intrigues him.
She is without guile, without an ounce of fear towards him, and something about all of these qualities completely piques his interest.
And perhaps in the deep recess of his mind, there is a lingering thought that he might already be a fraction in love with this ordinary girl, who could be half an enchantress with the way she seems to easily bewitch him, or perhaps she is half divine with how she manages to revive a part of himself that he thought is long dead and buried.
