Hycan rubbed his eyes, trying to see in the dark cavern. The Riolu whimpered to himself. "Bringing a torch could've made this so much easier ..." He rubbed his eyes."Cmon, I can do this."
The Riolu felt across the cavern's cold, damp, pitch-black walls as he walked. He could hear the pitter-patter of his steps across the ground. "C'mon, I need to take a … left, yeah, a left!" The cave was still dark, still damp, and still dank.
The pup was beginning to grimace as sweat dripped down his muzzle. "Now … this way, right?" His nose wrinkled at the overpowering scent of moss, followed by mushrooms. "Maybe … this is the right way?" The scent of the moss began to become even stronger. Hycan's walk turned into a jog.
The cave began to light up with every step taken as the ground began to glow. Hycan peered down, seeing glowing mushroom after glowing mushroom. A satisfied smile grew on his face as he picked up his pace. "I gotta be close!"
The cavern was now alight with blues and reds and all other sorts of colors as Hycan walked into the center of a massive room. Floating just above the ground was a massive black crystal.
The crystal then stirred. The crystal began to shift, crunching and shuddering as it split apart and grew. It's sides shattered apart into a massive hand with three claw like fingers. The top of the crystal was an obsidian colored helmet of sorts, which held a row of three spikes. Just below the top, was the crystal's face. It's face had two eyes, which were just a multitude of multicolored shapes.
The crystal spun around once, revealing the back of the helmet, which was a white color and had a black eight pointed star. The star could best be described as a plus and an X sign put together.
Hycan stepped back as the peered down at the Riolu. He then heard a voice echo around in his head. It was old and grainy. Deep, but calm.
The crystal's eyes narrowed."I believe I have seen you before, boy." The crystal levitated, before crashing to the ground with a thud. The room dimmed slightly. "What brings you back here? Aside from wanting to listen to the rambling of an old Necrozma?"
Hycan's eyes sparkled as he spoke. "I-I wanna know your name!"
The Necrozma echoed a chuckle into the Riolu's head. "Eisenward."
Hycan's excitement changed to confusion. "Eisen? … that doesn't sound at all to what the his-"
Eisenward cut the Riolu off with a roaring laugh. "History! BHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm guessing there is a second Necrozma you're thinking of, kiddo?"
Hycan landed on his butt, before stammering out a rebuttal. "Silbernes messer! That's what the history books say about Necrozma."
Eisenward leaned in closer to the Riolu, almost as if he was sneering at the child. "Silbernes got himself shattered for world domination, am I right, boy? That fool attempted to use the world core for some inane reason, didn't he?"
Hycan's jaw dropped. "H-how do ..."
Eisenward clapped his massive obsidian claws together. "BHAHAHAHAHAAH, I told that idiot to go to the core, knowing that his hubris would probably blow up in his face."
Hycan sputtered, staring in awe at Eisenward. "Y-you're a hero!"
Eisenward lifted one of his claws, and gently rubbed the riolu's head. "Hahahahaha, no, boy, I'm just a simple old coot and a hermit who sleeps in a cave."
The Riolu's tail wagged. "Well … I still want to know more about you, even if you are a self proclaimed hermit."
Eisenward looked around the room, before gently tracing a claw across the glowing, mushroom infused walls. "I suppose I can enlighten you about myself. That and all the types of edible mushrooms."
Hycan smiled. "Well … there is a science fair about to start. These glowing mushrooms seem pretty cool."
Eisenward's eyes shimmered and shined for a moment. "Then I can be of some help then."
Eisenward means Iron wall in German.
Silbernes Messer means Silver Knife in German.
