Chapter 4: Hit Restart

AN: Shout out if you recognize the lyrics to the song Marron was jamming to! In honor of voting for DB Fandom awards closing (and this fic being nominated!) I am gonna go ahead and drop another update. Becoming other people's boss has been tough...I feel way to in charge LOL I hope you like it!

Marron sat in the middle of her living room, she kept beating herself for taking the bait and sleeping with Trunks yet another time in the past 48 hours. She's outright decided she must give herself space to breathe.

Absolutely no other man will be entering her space today! Not Pensil, not Coconu and especially not Trunks. Marron proceeded to throw out multiple frames with pictures of Pensil, it was a lengthy process to purge this many photographs but it was necessary.

Marron, glanced at her phone. Should she call Valese? Marron fiddled with the buttons on the phone. She best not bother her, she was probably out living her life...she didn't need to be bogged down by Marron's troubles.

She threw her hair up in a bun as she stared down at the intimidating pile of picture frames. She tried to put a positive spin on the situation. She has the entire apartment to herself now! She can throw out all this gaudy furniture and finally live in her favorite space...her pay at Capusle Corp has been very generous and Marron wasn't complaining.

She didn't have to worry about looking "too good" or "whoring out" like her ex would tell her. There was a relief that settled in her chest at the thought of this newfound freedom.

Better yet, Marron didn't have to worry about waking Pensil due to their different schedule. Speaking of that. Marron couldn't help but trace her thoughts back again to the evening prior yet again.

Marron dug her face into her hands, he was imprinted into the crevices of her mind. "How annoying," she grumbled. But she couldn't help it.

He nestled his head between the blonde's milky white thighs, his lips pressing gently against the insides of her thigh down to the steamy core, still covered by her white cotton panties. His royal blue eyes peeked up curiously, causing the blonde's face to light up red. "It looks like you made a slight miscalculation, Miss Chestnut."

Her breath hitched, feeling her extremities erupt in chills as his body grazed softly against hers. A trail of warm kisses trailing up right under her ribcage. She felt his rough hands cup the bottom of her breast as his lips descended down. She watched mesmerized as her hands gently raked down his lavender locks. A soft medley escaping past her plump lips.

Marron stood back up taking a deep breath, looking over to the small speaker sitting on the counter. "Okay Coffey," Marron began, waiting for the small machine to light up, "play my cleaning playlist."

And suddenly music blared across the small townhome. She straightened out her comfy drawstring shorts and white tee, as she picked up another box full of memories of he who she will not name and placed at the bottom of the staircase of the entrance. Opening up the windows of the small home allowing the bright sunlight to invade inside.

She hummed along softly as she swept away at the dust that accumulated at the entrance, feeling relief as the painful reminders of Pencil had disappeared from her space. The volume was cranked up the whole way up and she couldn't hear her phone blaring as she screamed along with the lyrics.

"I knew a boy just like you, he's a snake just like you... such a fake just like you" Marron inhaled deeply, taking it from the pits of her stomach. "But I can see the truth...transparent soul-"

She paused as she noticed Coconu and Valese at the small iron gate to her tiny garden. "Hey…"

Marron flushed violently, looking at her clothes and back out to the duo. Coconu's white curls flopped gently on the side of his face, brushing gently against his defined cheekbones. "What are you guys doing here?!"

"Don't kill me," Valese said sheepishly, "I brought Coconu along...we felt you needed some cheering up, especially from last night."

Marron stared over to Coconu again, kami... he was handsome. Marron's face and chest were flush red as she observed him, smiling gently at her, dressed in a plain white tee and jeans. Nothing devastating but he made it look good.

"We doin' a deep clean?" Valese excused herself into the house, interrupting the other two's line of sight. "Don't mind if I do, let's get rid of Pencil's crap."

Marron sighed in defeat as she watched Valese grab another box, "I call cleaning out the bathrooms!"

Valese promptly bumped into Marron, giving her a slight wink while looking over to Coconu. Marron's eyes widened as she realized what the brunette was implying. "No…" Marron mouthed before being left alone with yet another man.

What is it with her luck and attractive dudes lately? Is it the universe playing a sick joke on frumpy and uppity Marron.

"Oh uh…" Coconu blushed, "I didn't want to come in but Valese insisted."

Marron sighed as she plopped back down to the floor. "Yeah...she's got a tendency to tip-toe where she shouldn't be," the blonde muttered as she grabbed another box of pictures.

"Let me help you with that," Coconu exclaimed rushing over to the blonde, his supple hands rubbing against Marron's. The blonde, now beet red at physical contact, turned away as her grip on the box loosened, but slow enough for Coconu to grab with ease.

Marron huffed as she watched the white-haired man walk outside. Maybe it would be better to do dishes, besides there was so much the blonde wanted to completely get rid of, maybe having a set of muscles would be less stressing on her body. The blonde was strong, but not enough to warrant carrying around furniture by herself.

A part of her felt strange. Why was she so sensitive to a simple touch on her hands, was she so deprived of physical touch that simply a touch from another person would send her spinning?

"Mare?" Coconu waved a hand in front of the blonde whose brain was seeming to drift away. "Earth to Marron!" He jokingly shouted out causing the blonde to snap out of her trance.

"Pfft, sorry about that Coconu…" Marron replied sheepishly. "Do you mind helping me out upstairs?"

"Yeah, no problem," He replied, flashing a toothy grin.

Marron simply smiled back, guiding him upstairs to where Valese was hastily cleaning out the bathroom. "Girl, did you know how much expired makeup you have in here?" Valese asked incredulously, "Like...seriously…" she paused, waving an eyeshadow palette in the blonde's face, "you are asking for an eye infection!"

Marron rolled her eyes, walking past her in the narrow hallway. She cringed as the wooden floorboards creaked with every step she took. She made her way to the end of the hall going past the white door into her bedroom. She wanted to emphasize the point that this was not Pensil's room, it's not shared...it's totally and wholly hers.

"There's a whole lot of boxes in here, huh?" Coconu noted at the half-filled moving boxes. "I'm guessing this is about your hated ex?"

Marron chuckled, a twinge of sadness strewn across her face. "Unfortunately, that's the case," she replied, dropping a collection of men's cologne bottles into a box lazily. Coconu swore he heard some shatter, but it looked like the blonde couldn't care less.

"Why drop it in there if it's gonna shatter?" Coconu asked curiously.

Marron opened her mouth, but nothing came out.

"Do you need to talk about it?" Coconu looked up to her.

Marron paused, although she was looking at Coconu her mind drifted back to the evening prior yet again. Those were the same words that got her in this predicament in the first place. She allowed Trunks into her space, became vulnerable, and let him take over to help her forget.

What does he think of her?

Does he respect her as a person?

Enough to ask for consent…

"Mare?" Coconu's words broke through the blonde's thoughts again. He was standing close to her now, his hands gripping the sides of her arms. Was he shaking her out of it? All she could do was look up at his face, his emerald eyes displaying concern. His soft curly strands of white gently brushing against the blonde's forehead.

She noted how nicely his hair complimented his tan skin, how well defined his squared-off jaw was...and suddenly Marron's heart was beating hard as she took a slight step backward and almost comically tripping down with Coconu.

Of course, how many times will she be flung around over boxes? Just her luck she was breaking this hunk's fall. "You okay?" Coconu asked quickly, extending his arms out looking at the blonde up and down.

He almost wishes he didn't, her blonde locks strewn all over and her form-fitting top laid nicely around her ample bosom causing him to flush. His eyes diverted quickly, sitting away from her. "I figure you...probably don't want to talk about it…"

Marron rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, chuckling. "Ah, no it's just...you caught me off guard is all."

Valese rushed into the room holding 5 different types of hairbrushes, her eyes wide. "What happened here?!" Valese exclaimed, worried. She clicked her tongue, arms crossed as she looked over to Marron.

"Clearly Coconu is distracting you," Valese rolled her eyes as she turned her attention over to the suddenly disheveled man. "Be a dear and take out those boxes to the truck...clearly Marron is too frazzled to need your help."

As he walked out of the room, Valese walked over to Marron, getting down to her knees. "What's going on Mar?"

"I wish I could tell you, Val…" Marron groaned.

"You mind explaining this then," Valese replied nonchalantly pulling out a Capsule Corp high-security pass with Trunks' name on it. "How'd you get your hands on this?"

Marron's eyes narrowed down on the ID. That idiot…

"What is that?" Marron asked, clearly playing dumb.

"I won't tell…" Valese insisted.

Marron sighed, trying to think back to how the pass was left in the bathroom of all places.

She was basking in the afterglow of her orgasm, moonlight streaming in from the cracked window. Granted, she was covered in fluids...and that definitely made for a sticky situation. Her torso and breasts dripped in her new sexual partner's cum.

All things considered despite awkwardly laying on the canopy bed, he was actually a gentleman enough to bring her a towel. All things considered watching him, even in this low light made her...giddy?

She figured he was just raised to treat his partner correctly...but it was such a stark contrast to how carnally motivated he seemed just moments ago. Just thinking about the way he held her made her feel like she was on the brink of exploding.

He leaned his head on his hand, staring her straight in the eyes. "I don't want to break the atmosphere or anything...but," He looked away awkwardly. "I really gotta take a leak...where's your bathroom."

She looked at him, dumbfounded...of course, wondering where on Earth this man found her towels if not in her bathroom. "Door on the left," Marron said, almost in disbelief as he gave her an almost childlike grin.

She knitted her brows, trying to focus. The mood was definitely gone…

"Um...maybe it slipped in my bag?" Marron lied. She was almost certain Trunks left it behind, that handsome idiot…

"I highly doubt Trunks Briefs would leave his ID laying around, much less somewhere that someone could pickpocket," Valese replied dryly. "Look, do you understand there is so much high-security stuff down there...you cannot even begin to understand the implications of what will happen if someone finds out he lost this."

Valese, stared down at it and back to the phone in her hand. "Which reminds me…" she said in a sing-song voice, "a little birdie told me Bulla and Trunks are now duking it out for President…"

Marron's eyes widened, "Mrs. Briefs is retiring?"

"Uh-huh, she's still majority share-holder though...but my boss or Mr. Briefs will be the sole President of the company...and well," Valese opened up her phone, "I do want to help Bulla succeed...and letting her know Trunks was so callous as to leave his ID laying around will definitely give me good brownie points."

Marron quickly tackled Valese to the floor, snatching the phone swiftly. "I stole it!" Marron lied, "I stole his ID!"

Valese blinked, bewildered at the blonde. "Oh…" she stared up at Marron, flicking her forehead softly. "Dummy…"

"See...he had bumped into me when I was heading to the bathroom...and, he just told me a real smart-ass comment...one that really grinds my gears," Marron began haughtily, "One thing led to another and I wound up snatching it from him when he didn't notice...I'll hand this to Tr- Mr. Briefs personally…"

"You do realize you could lose your job Marron," Valese responded, "Why don't we follow my plan?"

Marron stared back at Valese blankly...she didn't think this far. "Well...maybe he will have mercy on me?" Marron replied, holding the ID in her hands.

Valese stared back to the blonde warily. "You sure?"

"I can only try, right?" Marron asked, "Besides...despite him being an asshole...I'm sure if he's frantically searching for it…" the blonde began, "I'm sure I can spin it in my favor."

"I see," Valese replied in a sing-song voice, "taking advice from the pro, hm?"

"A-Ah yes...definitely…" Marron said nervously.

"Who knows, maybe he'll think you are so kind and generous he'll fall head over heels with you!" Valese joked but noted as Marron's face blanched.

"Wha…"

"It's a joke...Mar…" Valese responded.

"Oh!" Marron exclaimed, suddenly laughing aloud. "I mean, he's really cute don't ya think?"

Valese slapped her on the arm chuckling as she tucked a curled strand of brunette behind her ear. "He's not my type...I like blondes and black hair...lavender is too much."

Marron pursed her lips tightly as she nodded in agreement. "Definitely too much."

Trunks had torn his entire apartment apart in a frantic search for a little plastic card. But it wasn't just any card, it was his ID card that granted him access to high-tech weapons. For all Trunks knows there could be a psychopath with Capsule Corp. machinery over West City right now!

He stood in the middle of a demolished apartment, his couch and table turned upside down. He raked a shaky hand across his scalp, breathing in deeply as he scanned the room closely. The once pristine and sterile apartment was now a pigsty.

Trunks donned his training latex suit, as he had moments ago returned from training with his father. While the clothes made him feel he was practically in the nude by how amazingly light they felt... he could feel himself being weighed down by his tactile senses with his gloves and boots, now those too are lost in the ocean of mess that has become his apartment.

He heard a knock on the door, at 10 PM in the evening...he eyed the door curiously, sensing a tiny ki signature.

"Marron?" he called out.

"How'd you know?!" Marron responded, her sweet voice drifting its way past the crevices of the door.

"Uh...doorbell camera?" Trunks responded...he lied...there was no doorbell camera. He quickly went to answer the door and when he opened the door he watched the petite blonde observing the doorbell to his apartment. He assumed to find the doorbell camera he was just talking about. She was out of her work clothes, wearing just a pair of mom jeans and a tank top. Maybe his outfit won't raise any suspicion

He stepped outside the apartment, hoping she wouldn't look inside. "Wha...What are you doing here?" He chuckled nervously.

"Uh...I was gonna bring you this…" Marron took out the coveted ID he had been frantically searching for, and suddenly his face erupted in happiness.

"Oh Kami, I've been looking for that everywhere!" He exclaimed, eyes shining brightly as he stared back at her. Catching a glimpse of her eyes, he flashed a toothy grin...watching as her fair skin turned bright pink.

"I figured this was important to you…" she replied shyly, kicking the tip of her foot against the floor. "You left it at my house...but I must let you know…" Marron began, "Valese is out to get you...I told her I stole it from you since she was about to tell your sister you lost it…"

"She's quite the sly one…" Trunks held the card. "Bulla is out to get me, y'know...she really wants to be President…"

"I've heard," Marron responded. "By the way...what are you wearing," she observed, leaning in to observe the form-fitting fabric.

"Uh...sauna suit?" Trunks replied sheepishly.

Marron looked back up to Trunks, smiling back. "Makes sense that a big strong guy like you does that, helps relax the muscles hm?" She replied, slapping him on his back, making the hybrid nearly cough out.

She was strong. Trunks looked at her, observing her muscular arms. He was intrigued…

"Too much?" Marron responded sheepishly, "My dad always said I needed to control my strength whenever possible."

He glanced at her again, his eyes lit up curiously. "Do you do martial arts?"

"Ah...yes, I used to when I was younger…" Marron responded, "My father was trained by Kame-Sennin, actually...he passed down everything he knew to me," there was a brief pause between her words as she noticed his intrigue. "Granted, I don't do that anymore…" Marron said, "so uh...don't expect me to go anywhere whoopin' ass...ya know…"

"Still, that's impressive!" Trunks exclaimed, a bit louder than he wished. "Kame-Sennin is a legend!"

"Didn't know you knew about the turtle school," Marron's voice dripped in excitement.

"Ah...yeah my best friend's father was also trained by Kame-Sennin," Trunks replied embarrassed, his cheeks red. "Sorry, too much?"

"No not at all," Marron smiled, the apples of her cheeks rosy. "I gotta head back home…" Marron began, "So... I'll see you tomorrow, Mr. Briefs?" She asked, smiling gently and rather cutely if you'd ask him.

His head felt like it was soaring, she was suddenly ridiculously charming and soft, carefully tugging along at his delicate heartstrings. He carefully nipped his wandering thoughts in the bud, smiling back.

"Yeah...I'll see you tomorrow."
