"Della, why don't you sit on the couch? You look exhausted."

Perry suggested for the twentieth time that day, and he wasn't wrong. For the past 3 – 4 weeks Della had been tiring very easily – along with her complexion, how pale she was.

"Perry, I'm…"

Della began before she began to faint as Perry hollered for Gertie to call an ambulance.

Once they were situated in Della's ER room and the doctor on call walked in,

"So, what brings you in, Mrs. Mason?"

Della nodded as she thoroughly explained how she'd been feeling the past month and when she was done,

"Have you considered that you might be pregnant?"

The doctor asked after hearing her symptoms as he nodded while Della spoke.

"I don't… I suppose that I could be?"

Della said questioningly as she looked to Perry as he shrugged, they hadn't exactly been at it very often but Della was thinking that she was dealing with a bunch of stress from work.

The doctor nodded as he placed his stethoscope on her already evident baby bump which Della had always labeled as bloating as he smiled after moving it around, hearing the heartbeats of the babies.

"Well, congratulations are in order. I hear two very healthy heartbeats. You're pregnant with twins, Mrs. Mason. And from my being able to hear the heartbeats, I'd say your 8 weeks along."

Della and Perry looked at each other and laughed as they hugged each other before kissing gently.

Once they made it back to the apartment,

"Oh, twins Perry. We're going to be parents!"

Della said as Perry hugged her gently as they giggled,

"I can't believe it."

Della looked to Perry,

"Are you happy?"

Perry smiled brightly as he kissed Della,

"Of course I'm happy. I'm going to be a father!"

Della smiled but it quickly faded,

"I'm going to be a mother..."

Perry looked to her with concern,

"You're thinking about your mother?"

Della nodded as the tears came,

"I don't want the absence of a mother growing up affecting how I raise these babies. I know I had Aunt Irene but I'm worried that I won't be good enough."

Perry nodded as he kissed her,

"You're going to be fine. I've seen you with babies before, you're a natural."

Della smiled through her tears,

"I want this to be perfect."

Perry smiled as they snuggled on the couch for the remainder of the day while at the office,

"Gert, is something wrong with Della?"

Paul asked as they had a rare lunch to themselves as Gertie nodded,

"I think so, she's been looking awfully pale and has been beyond exhausted for the past month, plus with what I think is a little weight gain around her middle which... Oh, Paul. I've seen plenty of pregnant women before, and I think Della might be pregnant!"

Gertie said as Paul put the puzzle pieces together and laughed for joy,

"About time that the stork came to visit them."

They smiled and finished their lunch and got back to work as Grace walked in,

"Hi, beautiful. How's Della?"

Paul said as Grace smiled,

"Haven't heard anything since Perry took her to the ER, it's been a few hours they should be home by now. What's got you two in a happy daze?"

Grace asked as she noticed the happier demeanor in the room as Gertie giggled,

"We think Della might be pregnant."

Grace smiled and nodded,

"We think she's pregnant too, especially Mom. She keeps saying 'Della's displaying all the symptoms I had when I found out about you and Samantha.'"

After a few minutes of plotting and planning, the team - along with Liam and the rest of the family decided to spring a surprise dinner on Della and Perry, without trying to give away that they all knew about Della's pregnancy.

Around dinner time,

"Oh, this is too kind of you."

Della said as she let everyone in with the food and everyone got to work without letting Della or Perry lift a finger as the two parents to be looked at each other with concern.

"What's going on?"

Della asked as Grace nodded,

"We want to help you. You've had a stressful time lately and you deserve to sit back and relax."

Della sighed but sat back and watched dinner being prepped and as they sat down to eat,

"What is truly going on?"

Della asked as Irene bit her lip deciding to ask the question,

"We've noticed that you've been a lot more tired recently, and tiring easily. Are you alright, Della? Are you sick?"

Della looked to Perry as he nodded with a gleam in his eyes as Della knew that they didn't have much longer to hide the pregnancy as she beamed,

"I'm not sick. Actually, I'm 8 - weeks pregnant with twins!"

Everyone laughed for joy as hugs were exchanged and congratulations lilted in the air as the atmosphere became lighter and happier with the joyous news.

Della felt blessed to have the friends and family she did for this amazing journey of a twins pregnancy.
