Luz and Eda have both wakes up from a blast, at Belos' castle. Along with trying to wake up, from their fight with his remaining loyalists, during a very big battle to take him down.
Luz and Eda mourned, "What happened, like seconds ago." said Luz. "I really don't know?" says Eda.
Both are just realized, King is missing, alongside Willow, Gus, Lilith, and Amity. Eda maybe feels her staff, and Owlbert is maybe missing. But Owlbert was there, so Eda was relieved he was there, so very likely the staff is there too. Now their vision has clearly pictured the place, as…
An Earth-based hotel room, and quickly found a hotel keycard on this room, to get out. When they leave, at first time for both, Humans (and they aren't related to either of them) dress in animal costumes, which Luz may and somewhat realized, they're Furries, so clearly it just a show other members their stuff, like again their animal costumes (from low budget to very high budget parts) and fanarts (from G-rated to R-rated content)… but as a variety of anthropomorphic animals.
Eda asks, why do even know them at all? Luz reply "The internet, and probably one of my classmates from her human middle school since I think maybe a furry herself".
They are seemly to be second to fourth-worst subcultures, behind very gross 'Otakus' and very obsessive "Disults" (Disney adults), in my opinion.
Eda, however, saw one of them, looking at them, and slowly walk away from them, with the other furries cover him, as means to seemly don't want them to follow.
"Did that guy with a black-furred goat mask, just looked at us, and left slowly". Eda saying to Luz. "What guy?" Luz replied.
Eda, however, asks Luz to stay in that room, while she will find the lobby to find, the reception desk to telling them two things, like why they're there, and "check" them out early to go back to Luz's hometown.
When she uses the elevator to go down to the main floor, she saw several furries from fully dressed to only two who just wearing animal props. Eda saying to herself in her mind, "I really don't how the three of us, are at a completely different location on Earth-like, as we were knockout by Belos' blast, and somehow my Harpy-form isn't activating here".
When she finally stopped at the main floor, thus get out of the elevator, and try to find the floor's map, where the reception desk at. But, when Eda is trying to read it, those two animal props furries she saw a minute ago, are also wanting to look at the floor map too, and they ask Eda where their convention room is to buy furry merch.
Eda, ask them where to possibly go at. Said, "They are at…" Eda stops saying, as she one of these two couples looks eerily similar, but she doesn't know they're from the Boiling Isles or from Earth. She instead asks them their names. The guy with a mixture of light brown and red hair tells his non-fursona name is Helx Airsch, and the woman who is slightly overweight, has a short nose and looks being dying her hair to be real red, reveals her non-fursona name as Tara Derrace, along they become a very happy furry couple since they found over the internet, like months ago. And this is their first time to attend this furry convention.
Eda is both somewhat happy while very confused at the same time, and both the couple were quickly realized they love her fursuit including the very anthropomorphic owl head and eyes… as well the very detailed Owl smell as well her body in very realistic feathers and asking her if she's really a very devoted fan of The Furry House show at Disney+. Eda said "What?! Why did you say that at all?"
She was even more confused about what she just says that in a worried face, until she finds a bathroom mirror where the floor map is, she looked at the mirror to find herself as a real anthropomorphic owl "form" and not really a fake fursuit, instead of her usual harpy form.
She didn't scream (instead scream in her mind) but is really shocked and horrified at how this happened, and she thought, therefore, that explains why she can't turn her harpy form at all. But when she touches her skin to hopefully, they aren't real at all, as she began to be touching it, reveals it is just normal witch skin, so the mirrors are going to be using an illusion spell, by a presumedly some Illusionist Coven witch, was around here to mess these furries up, as a prank.
So, she runs out of the bathroom, but the two furries that she talks to them, got their friends to talk about her "very detailed fursuit", with one of them saying "it super-hot how she looks". But she will run back to the elevator to going back to her room. And got on it, as the few furries following her for the "details" of her "fursuit". And then finally reaching 'her' hotel room, where both Owlbert and Luz are at.
When Eda has finally returned to their room, to think about this, Luz is trying to be figured out, what's going on before they assumed to quickly teleported back to Earth, but what location they're. Luz, turn on the TV, and… it turns to a normal county/city news channel, discussing the location and such, one new story quickly conformed to be at Charlotte, North Carolina, and for the next three-four days, it holds the Southeast FlufFest, the city's first furry convention. Eda also told Luz to possibly not used any mirrors until getting back at her hometown, due to the revelation from minutes ago back on the main floor.
Eda who is confused, "How this that blast, send us here, and us into this universe version of yourself, except Owlbert?" Luz said back, "I just equally confused, but for now, if I'm correct, they have got an International Airport to take us, back home where it's at…" the door was knocked.
An employee at the other end, ask them for any room service, "Hello, any room service, we either check on you're staying here, or you want anything fixed over at room, like bed maintenance for example?". Eda reply, "We are good for the moment?" The employee left the door, and now check the other door on the left, for the other guests, which happens to be the Furries, they attend here.
For the next few minutes, they have a plan to "check out" the hotel, get on the bus to the airport, if not, get take some 500$ from the city residents, and get a Cab to taking them to the city's airport, and we're finally letting them to Luz's birth hometown at Connecticut, where the portal is reactivated there, taking them back to the Boiling Isles, to finish off Belos after their uprising made a few hours ago.
They start to go into the elevator, Eda, Owlbert (turning as an object, for the moment), and Luz jog there to catch on, they made it. Before it went down, Eda saw that guy again, with the goat mask, with seemly "hyper-realistic" human and goat-like teeth. Eda can't figure out, if they're real or not given it's a fan convention here, as they are going down to the main floor.
When they got to the main floor, over about 70-90% are furries, while 20-10% are normal non-furry guests at the hotel, getting their plans and business about their day. The three, when to the counter to check out, and somewhat, unfortunately, it going to take a few to ten minutes to officially check out, at the reception desk. There was a scream coming throughout some parts of the hotel.
At one of the convention guest restrooms and a convention hall area, two murders as well, few furries were seemly having a fight with other furries with actual no reason, as acting like real animals. Along, that guy has begun to bite four furries and one non-furry guest into their necks and faces for again, no sane reason at all. While at the same time, the fighting happens.
One of the two people was bitten, are in pain, and developing somewhat flu, fever, and paranoia-like symptoms, while those five insane furries, were put down by the hotel police with the city police coming within few minutes to ending this.
While Eda is trying to ignore the situation over there, Luz will quickly see the aftermath, of a least she thought to be the actual one. Seeing some shock and worried. As, she wants to be returned to Eda, hopefully, if they officially checked out. She felt something briefly want to see more until it disappears.
One of the victims are developing some irrational thought, and successfully bite her arm, screaming in the process, as one of the five crazy furries, suddenly turn into attack mode, and bite a couple of the hotel employees, growl on them, as one of their shoes are grown out to developing feline-like claws, as well the physical changes with a couple of the infect legs, to resemble the cats and dogs. The other two of five crazy furries are returning to attack mode, attacking three into close four more furries and two non-furry guests. "Run!" as one red panda-themed furry in a horrifying shock. "Let get out of this room." a Wolf-theme furry said.
Luz, finally get out of the entrance of the convention area, and run back to the reception desk, Eda was gone, that point Luz was getting close to the lobby door to leave, were one of a different furry in a bird theme, has begun to be attacking her, *talking in broken and messed up wording*, before telling her "Help me…", before begun attacking her for real. Luz, try to kick the poor to be revealed as a female furry guest. Who her ear, begun to fall off on her face?
Luz has returned to the lobby door again, and this time, the other guests run with her. One of them began attacking the other guests. Luz has finally gotten out of the hotel. And some areas of the city are now in chaos suddenly. As Eda saw Luz in the crowd grab her hand. "Hold my hand, and also please don't come off this time". Luz, grab and all three of them run into the nearest cab, got on, and leave here.
