Rountree gave her a ride home, then they curled up on her couch together. She smiled and rested her head on his chest.
"Thanks for being here," she whispered. Rountree smiled.
"Of course. Hey, do you want to see the guy? We can still arrange a visit to Oakville," he whispered, rubbing her back. She frowned.
"No, I don't want to see him," she whispered, her voice small and scared.
"Okay, okay. You don't have to. Would it be okay if I visit him alone?" Rountree asked.
"Yeah, I just don't want to see him," she whispered.
"That's fine. What do you wanna watch?" he asked.
"Anything," she whispered.
"Hey, are you ever going to ride again?" he asked.
"I don't know. I don't think I'm ready mentally, you know?" she whispered, tears in her eyes.
"That's okay, it's whatever you're comfortable with," he said gently. They snuggled up and Fatima fell asleep on him. Once the movie was over, he carried her to bed. She immediately woke up and hugged him tighter. He smiled and kissed her cheek.
