Loki yawned slightly, as he flipped through the papers of his last mission. He had been working here for a while now. He couldn't tell how long, but it felt as if it already had been a year. Maybe two. All he remembered was popping into existence in the TVA, staring at the statue of their master. The Timekeeper.
That moment he had felt lost and without a purpose. Back then, he was lucky to have a certain agent near him. Mobius M. Mobius. The man had seemed awfully worried about the fellow analyst, saying he was talking about something crazy… Loki couldn't even remember what it was anymore. Nor could Mobius.
But what they both knew was that they got along well. They had met more and more after that, Mobius showing Loki the ropes.
And after a while, they found this new emotion.
Something akin to love.
Loki raised his head as he heard the noise of paper against the desk. Mobius had dropped some stuff onto the table.
"Hey, Lokes, you've been working for way too long." He spoke, letting out a soft huff as he pulled over a chair from the next office and sat down on it, stretching out his feet between Loki's legs as he would always do.
The ravenette furrowed his brows. "No, I haven't." He replied, setting down the pen he had been using. A mischievous smirk formed on his thin lips. "Maybe you are just a little too carefree now-a-days, Judge Mobius."
The two of them were known for constantly bickering, even if they should honestly be working. Or maybe a better word would be… Teasing.
The grey haired man let out a soft chuckle, simply because Loki wasn't wrong. He really was a little too carefree. "I've got about 30 minutes before they bring in the next variant. Come on… We could have some fun. Just you and I? Take a nice walk or get some lunch together?" He asked in his puppy voice, which reduced itself into a whisper toward the end.
Loki put his hands on his hips and tilted his head, faking a disappointed look. "Judge Mobius, so irresponsible." He said, though followed up with a snicker. "Fine then. But it better be worth my precious time."
Agent Laufeyson stood up and closed his files. They were nothing important, so he could just leave them there.
Taking Mobius' hand, the two TVA agents began walking down the corridor.
"How long have we been together?"
Loki perked up as Mobius asked that. He stared at the man over his packed bowl of salad (see, he ate a lot more than most of the other agents. And this salad had barely any nutrients). Mobius had his own bowl on their lunch table, but it was already empty.
The analyst blinked slightly, pressing his lips. "Is that a joke question? Time doesn't behave the same down here." Loki admitted, stuffing a fork full off lettuce and his mouth and delightfully chewing on it.
Mobius chuckled slightly and nodded. "Yeah, yeah… But how does it feel? I mean… I feel like we've been together for… Years now. Man, I wish we could count that stuff." The Judge looked off into the distance, right past Loki, who had to admit, he felt the same.
There was a certain pride about knowing how long you've spent together. Celebrating it when you know it's been a certain time. But they couldn't do that. That was reserved for the people on the Sacred Timeline.
"We could have a party if we knew. With just us. And champagne. And… Those little chocolates you like." Mobius continued, his smile wide. It was such an amazing idea.
It indeed was.
Loki set down his fork, swallowing the food in his mouth. He licked his lips, getting the taste of ranch off of them. "Then let's just do it today. Let today be our anniversary."
The 'younger' stood up and leaned over the table, long and slender body able to close the little distance. He pressed their lips together into a soft kiss. Mobius couldn't resist his soft lips. They were almost so smooth. Like he was kissing a God.
As they parted, there was the softest blush on Loki's cheeks. His blush was always so mesmerising. Mobius smiled, tracing his fingers over the other man's cheeks. It looked almost… Purple. Which was idiocy, truly. Loki was, after all, just like any other TVA agent. Right?
"Weren't you so adamant about going back to work?" Judge Mobius asked in a teasing way, giving his lover a smirk. Said man simply chuckled, giving a soft shrug. "Work can wait. Let's get some of those chocolates."
