Draco couldn't believe the night he was having. He had spent the past three weeks looking forward to Ron's birthday but now he wish he hadn't even come. All had been going well until they walked in. His ex girl, Pansy Parkinson and her new guy. Things hadn't ended well with them, and by that he meant that she had dumped him for his best friend, or should he say ex best friend. I mean he should have known that they would be here tonight, despite the shit Harry had pulled they still ran in the same crowd. Even more so, Harry had grown up with Ron at boarding school, so there was no way he wasn't going to turn up at his 21st just because Draco was there. He was also way too much of an ass to not take up the chance to rub the situation in his face.
After two hours of watching the new couple pull 'cute' faces at each other and putting on ridiculous displays of public affection, he had just about had enough. Draco was getting ready to leave when Pansy appeared out of nowhere.
"Hi babes, it's been a while," she drawled out in a clearly intoxicated fashion.
"There is a reason for that Pansy, now move out of my way I've got somewhere to be." This peaked her interest as she stood her ground even more.
"Where would that be, all your friends are right here?" She had a point. He had nowhere to be, but he wasn't going to tell her that.
"I'm actually meeting someone. Not that it is any of your business."
He figured lying was the only option, it would get him away from the party and better yet, it would make Pansy think that he had a girl on his mind that wasn't her. She looked taken aback, she clearly hadn't expected him to move on so soon. Draco felt a smirk creeping onto his face, but it quickly dropped. From the corner of his eye he saw Harry redirect his path towards them, a stern look on his face. Not tonight, Draco thought, and hastily manoeuvred himself around Pansy's frozen form to make a beeline for the exit before he got too close. He'd just have to text Ron a goodbye.
Once Draco exited the club he began to weigh up his options. He had no one to hang out with and no place to be. Going home felt like he was admitting defeat, so instead he decided to go for a walk around London. He had lived there for almost three years now but he felt like he never truly got to see it. Draco knew it was a beautiful city to live in, but right now it wasn't exactly in its finest shape. Everything looked a little damp and dark, plus the many clubs he was walking past weren't exactly the type of places you would recommend to someone who wanted to sight see in the famous city. Regardless, he kept on with his walk, shivering slightly thanks to the continuous breeze hitting his face. It had been raining for the past couple of days so there was a slight chill in the air - but he didn't live too far away, so he wasn't all that bothered by the lack of appropriate clothing he had on.
As he was walking past the last club on the street Draco heard a voice yell out. He doubled back and noticed a girl and a guy talking around the side of the building. The alleyway was dimly lit, but he could just about make out that the dude had the girl pushed up against the wall. Personally doing that kind of stuff in public wasn't his thing, but to each their own he guessed. Not wanting to look like he was creeping on them whilst the couple was clearly getting it on, he turned to continue on his walk home. He had only taken a few steps forward when he heard the girl scream for help. He turned around and quietly walked down the alleyway. As Draco got closer he realised that he had completely misread the situation. The guy had the girl pinned against the wall by her arms and it didn't look like she was enjoying it.
"Get off me you dick," she screamed at the dude. He was a siHermioner build to Draco but with dark slick hair and a natural tan.
As he stepped closer he saw the dude raise his hand and before he could do anything a thundering sound echoed against the walls as he slapped her right in the face. 'Watch your mouth you whore,' he snarled at the girl.
'Oi mate,' Draco spoke up as he stepped into the lit area of the alleyway, 'I think you should take your hands off her right now.' The girl looked at him with relief flooding her face. She was average height, with brown locks and a pretty face. She was definitely Draco's type, but that wasn't his main focus right now. The snarling face of the guy that was holding her down was.
'Fuck off 'mate', this is nothing to do with you,' he spat. By this point Draco was about a meter away from the couple.
'You know what, you are so right, I'll leave you to it,' Draco said. He saw the girls face drop in despair, clearly worried that her only chance of escape was leaving. He slowly took a step back towards the main street, watching as the guy turned back to the girl and gripped her harder. This was his chance he thought. Without hesitation Draco flung his fist into the guys right cheek, shocking him and knocking him to the ground.
'Yeah, I don't think so, dickhead,' Draco spat before grabbing the girls hand and pulling her towards him.
'Quick, we have to go before he comes to his senses,' he said, looking down into her big teary eyes. Still in a state of shock, the girl looked down at the guy on the ground. Draco could tell she was wondering whether or not she could trust him. For all she knows, he could be just like that idiot. The guy stirred, clearly beginning to regain consciousness, and her worried face turned to panic.
'Okay,' she said timidly, before letting Draco pull her out of the alley way and down the street.
