...New Friends…

Genevieve Black stretched and yawned as she woke up from her slumber. She sat up and smiled in her four-poster bed. She heard rustling in the bed next to her as her cousin Hazel woke up. Genevieve climbed out of her bed and into her cousin's.

"Morning Eve.", Hazel yawned tiredly. Genevieve laid down next to her cousin. Honestly, they were more like sisters than cousins. "Good morning!", she smiled putting her head down on the pillow. Hazel turned to her cousin.

"How'd you sleep?" she asked with worry. Genevieve sighed and looked down at a small scar on her midsection. "I had that nightmare again. Should I tell my mum I'm still having them?", she sounded frightened even to herself.

Hazel nodded and pulled her cousin into a comforting hug. "Come on it's our first day here." she pulled her cousin up and out of bed. A girl in their year Angelina Johnson shot them a friendly smile as she watched their interaction. The three girls got ready for their first day of classes.

Alicia Spinnet also in their year joined them at the Gryffindor Table for breakfast. The girls spoke in hushed but excited voices. "Miss Black?", Professor McGonagall handed me my schedule, "I had both your parents in my house. I'd ask that you not follow in their suit and make some of the decisions they made."

The professor then strode off leaving Alicia and Angelina stunned. "What did she mean?" Alicia wondered. Genevieve quickly filled them in on how her parents had acted in school. Her family had been overjoyed to tell them exactly how her parents acted.

"Then mum slapped him so hard he passed out. According to my aunt Giselle his face was bruised the darkest shades of purple and blue for months." Genevieve took a bite of her bagel.

Hazel laughed at the memory of aunt Giselle telling them stories from their Hogwarts days. The four girls began swapping stories from childhood and laughing. The beginnings of a beautiful friendship were forming.

Genevieve flopped onto an empty armchair in the common room at the end of her first month at Hogwarts. She was exhausted but felt extremely accomplished with her studies and progress as a witch.

Angelina sat on a nearby chair and laughed. "That is exactly how I feel." She smiled at Genevieve and turned back to her homework. "I really wanted to believe that as soon as I got here things might be different but they're not." Genevieve sighed sadly.

"What do you mean?" Alicia wondered flopping onto the floor at Angelina's feet. "When I was leaving Potions, Snape asked me if we were going to leave school every break all dolled and decked out like my mum and her friends used to." Genevieve sighed and tilted her head up to the ceiling.

Hazel shot her a sympathetic smile before turning to read Angelina's Transfiguration essay. "Your mum and her friends used to dress up?" Alicia giggled. Genevieve went up to the dorm and brought down a mini photo album.

The girls flipped through laughing occasionally. "I see your dad was very 'jealous' and in love with your mum." Hazel laughed as we turned the page. "You have no idea. I f they get mad at each other he starts calling her 'doll' which she hates." Genevieve scoffed.

"Your mum is an author, right?" Angelina asked. Genevieve nodded and quickly explained how her mum had been publishing books since she was little. "All the people in our family are just so awesome that it makes it a little hard to be in the same room with them." Hazel explained.

Seeing their friends confused faces she continued, "For example our grandpa, Ashton Richards, is an actor. He still looks amazing even though he's up there in age. It's slightly irritating."

Genevieve nodded solemnly and pointed to a family vacation picture. "Oh look! Uncle Aaron. It's kind of difficult to think we're related to him."

Angelina and Alicia gawked at my aunts and uncles. Even mum, dad, and grandpa. The two cousins couldn't blame them. they're relatives looked like they were related to the Greek god and goddess Adonis and Aphrodite.

Genevieve sighed and began finger combing her hair. "You two are really something else." Angelina giggled. Hazel turned the page and a photo of one of Genevieve's mum's school break outfits greeted them. It was leather and lace and Genevieve's mum looked stunning, exactly like a doll.

Alicia's mouth dropped open in shock. "Your mum looks gorgeous!" Angelina gasped. Genevieve shrugged and pointed at the picture of her mum and friends together in their outfits of leather and lace.

"I think if she'd become an actor like her parents, a model, or a singer that dad would've lost it by this point." Genevieve confessed with a small laugh. Hazel nodded and snickered. "This is my favorite!" Hazel shrieked with delight.

She pointed at a picture of Genevieve's parents on the day they helped Genevieve's mum move into her new place. "Dad said he had to keep a close eye on mum cause the 'neighbors' kept looking at her." Genevieve smirked.

"Didn't she notice?" Angelina asked. Genevieve shook her head with mock sadness. "Not once. Mum said she only noticed how much dad had changed since they were younger."

Alicia smiled as she flipped to the next page. "That was from our vacation this past summer." Hazel gasped. We flipped through the rest of the pages with smiles and laughs. "I'd love to wear one of those outfits." Angelina sighed longingly.

Hazel smiled mischievously. "Should I write a letter to my mum and ask her to send you two outfits?" Their heads shot up in surprise. "You'll send them into permanent shock." Genevieve teased smacking her cousin's leg.

"I'd love to!" Alicia jumped up and around excitedly. Genevieve turned and shot Angelina a smile that was returned with a sly one. "Which outfit?" Hazel asked ignoring the other two.

"All of them." Alicia's eyes widened in excitement. Genevieve giggled catching the attention of her friends. "I think that can be arranged." she winked. They laughed and watched Alicia dance around the common room.

Alicia collapsed into Genevieve's lap with a satisfied smile. "I'll send mum a letter in the morning." Hazel reached over and smoothed Alicia's hair. Genevieve put the photo album away and rejoined her friends to play games for the rest of the afternoon.

Genevieve put her head in Angelina's lap after dinner as they watched Hazel and Alicia picking out different outfits from a magazine. "This promises to be very entertaining!" Genevieve snickered. Alicia shot her a pouty look.

Genevieve turned to Angelina with a look of mock sadness. Angelina pinched her cheeks. "Play nice girls!" she laughed and ruffled their hair. Genevieve pouted and turned to Alicia. The latter was staring into the fire ignoring the rest of them.

Genevieve crawled over to Alicia and wrapped her arms around her. "Which outfit did you want to try first?" Genevieve asked with a smile. Hazel giggled and Alicia frowned. "I can't decide!" Alicia cried out in frustration. Genevieve burst out laughing.

"Why don't you try something simple to start out with?" she offered. Alicia blinked on confusion at Genevieve. Genevieve flipped to a page with cute winter outfits. Alicia brightened considerably and smiled.

Alicia turned and tackled Genevieve to the floor in a bone crushing hug. Genevieve let out a surprised shriek as Angelina and Hazel snickered and went up to the dorm. Genevieve pushed Alicia off and shook her head. "Time for bed!" she grinned picking up the magazines.

Alicia jumped on Genevieve's back as they headed up the stairs. Genevieve dumped Alicia on her bed before crawling into her own.

Genevieve sat by the lake watching the sky. She heard footsteps approaching. The Weasley twins stumbled into view laughing. They were carrying what looked to be some old parchment with them. She rolled her eyes and laid down.

She closed her eyes and took in the fresh air. "Do you think mum will be happy when she finds out?" she heard George ask. Fred shushed his twin and pointed where Genevieve lay apparently asleep.

Genevieve heard the faint sounds of them whispering and hitting each other. "I don't think she heard us at all. I think she's asleep Fred." George whispered.

Genevieve shifted and turned towards the lake. The twins went silent as they waited to see if she was awake. She smiled internally and slowed her breathing as she heard them approach.

Fred leaned over Genevieve to see if she was awake. He reached his hand out to tap her shoulder when she rolled over facing them. He stood and quickly pulled George away from the sleeping girl.

Genevieve grinned and sat up. She waved her fingers at the retreating backs of the twins. Laying back down she took out a book she'd been reading before. Alicia walked up 45 minutes later looking slightly irritated.

"Really E?! The twins were convinced you were behaving weirdly and asleep out here." Alicia tried to scold her friend but ended up smiling. Genevieve sat up with a smirk. "I did no such thing." she rose slowly dusting herself off and packing her things.

"What were you doing then?" Alicia demanded. "I heard them stumbling about, so I pretended to be asleep. Honestly, they were probably running from another punishment and were overthinking." Genevieve scoffed putting her bag on her shoulder.

Alicia nodded slowly in agreement. "Either way they're annoying Angelina and Hazel in the common room so let's go."

The two hurried up to Gryffindor Tower. They walked into the common room to find the twins and their friend Lee Jordan annoying Hazel and Angelina.

Alicia walked over and plopped down beside Hazel. Genevieve stood behind the twins and Lee with her hands on her hips. "We're not kidding! She was asleep but she rolled towards us when we went to check if she was really asleep!" Fred explained waving his hands in the air.

Genevieve leaned between the twins and put her hands on their shoulders. "Why was it important if I was asleep? Unless you boys were misbehaving!" she teased. The twins went red and stammered.

"You should make sure they behave themselves to the fullest!" Genevieve poked Lee's shoulder. Lee stammered and all three boys jumped up turning to me. "Oh, you're here!" George stammered running his hands through his hair.

Genevieve rolled her eyes and waved to her friends. "I'm going to put my things away. Oh, Haz! Did I get any mail?"

Hazel nodded "I put them on your bed." Genevieve nodded, shot the three boys a sinister look before heading up to the dorm. On her bed lay a small stack of envelopes from the family.

She quickly wrote replies to her aunts and uncles, then opened the letter from her mum and dad. They were not happy that the nightmares were back, but they hoped she was doing well.

She gathered the reply letters and headed back downstairs. The twins and Lee watched her with obvious apprehension. She exited the Tower and went to the Owlry.

The school owl she'd picked nipped happily at her fingers and she petted the owl. "You'll have to make a few stops, but I hope you can handle it." she cooed and smiled at the owl. She was tying the letters when she heard the footsteps.

She spun around and almost connected her fist with George. "It's just us!" he yelled in surprise. Genevieve rolled her eyes and took the owl to the window. She watched as it flew off and the twins went to send their letter to their family.

A smile brightened her features as the owl flew off. She watched carefully until it was out of sight then started down the steps.

She walked around the school taking in the beauty of the castle. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and bumped into someone. She fell flat on the floor and whined as she felt a small bit of pain.

Whoever she bumped into held out a hand and she took it gratefully. They helped her up and she dusted herself off. She looked up to apologize. "I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going…" her voice trailed off.

"Oliver. Oliver Wood." The boy in front of her spoke. She eyed him carefully a moment. "My apologies Oliver." Genevieve gave him a smile before continuing on her way.

She made her way back to the common room and joined her friends in the corner where they sat together huddled up. "What took you so long E?" Angelina asked.

"I ran into the twins in the Owlry and a boy named Oliver on my way back", Genevieve explained taking a seat, "But enough about that. What are you girls up to?"

Alicia looks around and then the four girls lean in closer so that they aren't overheard. "We were just trying to figure out why the twins are so scared of you. They have a stronger reaction to you and Hazel than their own mother."

Genevieve shrugged and sighed. "Who knows with those two honestly. I wasn't asleep earlier. I just felt like teasing them a bit."

Angelina snickered and smacked Genevieve's arm. "What is so scary Eve?" Hazel muttered. Alicia rolled her eyes and chuckled. "Do you remember when you two told us about the time her mum hit her dad? The twins and Lee were eavesdropping."

"Hazel's mum hits a hell of a lot harder than mine!" Genevieve complained. Hazel nodded in conformation. "Oh, there was one time mum punched this really old tree and it fell down on grandpa's house."

Genevieve and Hazel burst out laughing at the memory earning curious glances from the others. They spent the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon going over their homework.

They were joined by other first years and began playing truth or dare. "Truth or Dare?" Hazel asked Alicia. Alicia chose dare and ended up trying to get a piggyback ride from a school ghost.

Genevieve turned to her cousin. "Truth or Dare dear cousin?" "Dare. I'll take a dare." Hazel grinned. Genevieve chuckled and smiled slyly. "I dare you to kiss the next person who comes through the portrait hole."

Everyone gasped collectively before staring in shock at Genevieve. Hazel shrugged and went over to the door. They watched with bated breath until the door opened. Hazel kissed the person then rushed back over with a blush darker than the curtains.

Hazel had kissed Oliver Wood. He stood in the doorway in shock. Hazel smacked her cousin's arm. Genevieve had burst into laughter and it made Hazel's blush darken considerably.

"Truth or Dare Genevieve?" Lee Jordan asked with hesitation. "Dare." Genevieve spoke with a smile. Lee and the twins shared a look. They produced what looked like a mix of different foods. "Eat this!" they grinned mischievously.

"What is that?!" Genevieve gagged as the smell hit their noses. "Raw garlic, liver, fisheyes, stinky tofu, durian, Casu marzu, vegemite, and Rocky Mountain oysters." Lee snickered. It was a mound the size of a softball.

Genevieve gagged again and turned away. "It is a dare E!" Hazel smirked. With great effort Genevieve turned and devoured the disgusting mound. "Major respect!" the twins gave her a thumbs up.

She looked paler and slightly sick. "I'm going to remember this you three!" Hazel gave her a sympathetic smile. The twins and Lee high fived each other. Angelina turned to Fred with a sly look on her face.

"Truth or Dare?" she asked. "Truth." Fred answered shocking the group. Genevieve who had just recovered form the horror of what she'd eaten looked around. Oliver Wood was talking to other people in his year trying to figure out what was going on and why Hazel had kissed him out of the blue.

"Who would you most like to kiss in this room?" Angelina questioned with a look that said he wouldn't be able to get out of it. Fred went red and looked around at their eager faces.

Hazel thought he looked a little long at Genevieve and smirked knowingly. "Wood. I think I'll take my chances with Oliver Wood." Fred grinned. Hazel shot Alicia a look. The group turned to George. "Truth or Dare?" Alicia asked George.

"Dare!" he shrugged. Alicia chuckled evilly. "Get Fred and Oliver to kiss on the lips." Fred went red and silently begged his brother not to. George nudged Lee and they picked up Fred and took him over to Oliver.

"Oh, please! Not again!" Oliver pleaded in mock desperation. George and Lee pushed the two together. Fred gave in and kissed Oliver full on the mouth. The whole of Gryffindor erupted in laughter as both boys began gagging and pretend vomiting.

Genevieve shook her head and threw her legs over Alicia's. "Truth or Dare Lee?" Hazel poked him as the three sat back down. "Truth!", Lee spoke quickly, "You girls' dares are terrifying." Genevieve laughed evilly. "You have no idea."

"What's your main fantasy that you dream about most often?" Hazel continued poking him. Lee became flustered and grumbled. "Going on a date with Angelina." He blurted out.

Alicia whistled and nudged Angelina with her foot. The game continued with more dares and truths. The group of first years became more and more flustered and embarrassed.

"Truth or Dared E?" Angelina asked after her dare to eat raw garlic. "Dare" Genevieve spoke confidently. Hazel sniggered and nudged Angelina. Angelina, Alicia, and Hazel whispered conspiratorially.

"Let someone draw a 'tattoo' on your back." Angelina smiled as they emerged from their mini meeting. Genevieve shook her head and began to get up. She tore across the room and up the stairs to the girls' dorm. Alicia and Angelina caught up to her before she could hide under her covers.

They dragged their friend back down to the common room. Genevieve gave the others a pouty look with puppy dog eyes and began whimpering. "Anything but that. I'll do any other dare!" The others that were playing looked at each other.

Genevieve leaned down in front of her cousin and widened her spring green eyes and whined again. The group looked away trying not to cave in. She pouted and went over to the weakest looking bunch, the twins and Lee.

She pouted and shook her long black hair. Genevieve poked at them and when they turned around, she had her best puppy dog eyes on them. Lee slid over to another one of the boys from their dorm. Genevieve turned her eyes on the twins.

"Fine. We'll change the dare." Hazel giggled watching them. It really looked like Fred liked her cousin and George and Lee had already given in. Genevieve stopped giving them puppy dog eyes and sat back down in her seat. Alicia snuck up behind her and pinned her to the ground as Angelina drew on her back.

They chuckled. "What? What is it? What did you two draw?" Genevieve pouted trying and failing to look. The others burst into laughter making Genevieve really curious. The game continued and turned into mini competitions.

Hazel was in a three-way arm-wrestling battle with Lee and Alicia. Lee lost first and collapsed onto the floor. "Since you lost come up with the next event." Alicia soke through gritted teeth as she used every last bit of her strength against Hazel.

"I think a staring contest sounds interesting." Lee chuckled slyly. He sat up and pointed at Genevieve. "Why me?" she pouted. Hazel won the competition. "Who else?" she ignored her cousin's pouting.

"Fred and George haven't been in a competition yet." one of the other first years supplied. Fred and George shot the boy a look. Genevieve hid behind her chair and listened to them try and con their way out of it.

Hazel looked around. "Where is she? Where did Eve go?" The others looked around just noticing Genevieve had disappeared. Angelina snuck up behind Genevieve and poked her. Genevieve jumped up with a squeal. The others shook their head and made space for the three to begin the competition.

Genevieve sat down and took deep breaths. "Ready! Go!" Lee snickered. Genevieve opened her eyes and realized she was in a competition with Fred. A voice in the back of her head told her that this was dangerous, and George was a better rival.

"This is awkward." Fred mumbled. Genevieve smiled then widened her eyes. Fred took a deep breath trying to calm himself down, but Genevieve looked really cute. She leaned closer keeping eye contact.

Hazel and George began humming the Jeopardy! theme song. Genevieve smiled and sighed. "We are now past 10 minutes and neither of them has even budged!" Lee announced to the onlookers.

Genevieve pouted at Fred. "Can't you just give in!" she whined. Her eyes slowly becoming irritated and they felt heavy from keeping them open so long. Fred grinned noticing the effort she was putting in. "I think you're closer to giving in than I am!" he teased.

Tears leaked from Genevieve's eyes as she fought to keep them open. Fred was caught off guard by the tears on her face and blinked. Genevieve jumped and cheered. "I win!"

Fred leaned back and laid on the floor. "What was that?" George asked in a whisper. Fred shrugged. Lee was collecting money from the bets that had been made. Fred sat up and looked at Genevieve who was being congratulated by the girls. What had happened to him? He was so close to winning but when he saw those tears he froze.

Genevieve separated herself from those who were around her. She went over to Fred and held out a hand to him. He took it and she shook it. "That was quiet a fight you put up. What a nice rival to have! Thanks Freddie!" she smiled at him before joining her friends as they went up to bed.

Fred watched until they were out of sight. Oliver Wood came over and put a hand on his shoulder. "Is it possible that you like her?!" he teased. Fred went red and George looked at his brother for an answer. Lee made kissing noises and Fred began chasing his friend around the common room.

Classes were getting harder to pay attention to as the winter holiday approached. Genevieve sat in the window watching the snowfall. She had some things on her mind that she wanted to think through.

Her mind kept going back to the staring competition. Fred hadn't been ready to give in so why did he? "Was it because she had cried trying to keep her eyes open? Does he possibly like me?" the innocent Genevieve in her mind spoke softly. "No! No way! This was Fred Weasley we're talking about here. He probably was just caving himself." the mature Genevieve spoke waving off the thoughts of the innocent one.

Genevieve sighed and climbed down and began walking down the hall. She pulled her robes around her and made her way up to the common room. Alicia jumped into her arms as she walked in.

"The clothes arrived today!" she squealed excitedly. Genevieve let Alicia lead her up to the dorm. Angelina and Hazel were already trying on their clothes. Genevieve opened her box. She smiled and went over to Alicia's.

Alicia had a gorgeous bell sleeve shirt, pea coat, wide leg pants, and a pair of Doc Martens. Hazel had a wrap shirt, capelet coat, palazzo pants, and Chelsea boots. Angelina was already in her outfit of sailor pants, ruched shirt, cape coat, and Doc Martens.

"Where is your outfit?" Angelina asked turning to Genevieve. She waved at her bed where she had a batwing shirt, swing coat, skinny jeans, and Chelsea boots.

"Where did you go after breakfast?" Alicia asked spinning around in her outfit. "Watching the snowfall." Genevieve answered putting on her outfit. She spun around with Alicia until they were both dizzy.

Hazel convinced them to go with her outside for a snowball fight. Genevieve shrugged and followed her cousin and friends. They walked onto the grounds and joined other first year girls.

They separated into two teams and the battle began. Genevieve hid behind their makeshift fortress and lay on the ground panting heavily. She really needed to keep in shape. Hazel smirked at her. "What?!" Genevieve gasped.

Hazel gave her a signal to talk in Latin. "Remember the paintball fight. We should use those tactics. We can win." Genevieve nodded and they began to explain the tactics to their teammates.

In less than 15 minutes the other side had surrendered. Genevieve collapsed into the snow and smiled. "You are so out of shape Eve!" Hazel giggled. Genevieve threw a handful of snow at her cousin. The two giggled and threw tiny amounts of snow at each other.

They followed the others inside to warm up and get some hot cocoa. "What are your plans for the holiday E?" Angelina asked as they sat down. Genevieve put her hands around her cup to warm them.

"I'm going to France to visit an old friend." Genevieve answered taking a sip of the drink. "An old friend?" Hazel seemed confused. "Yeah, she goes to Beauxbatons. I met her when mum was doing a book signing tour.", Genevieve put down her drink as her words confused her cousin, "I told you about her before. Fleur. Fleur Delacour."

Realization dawned on Hazel and she nodded. "The Veela girl." Genevieve laughed and shook her head. "Part Veela, but still." Alicia watched the cousins with a smile. "You two act more like sisters than cousins you know."

Hazel and Genevieve tilted their heads in confusion and stared at their friend. Angelina reached over and ruffled their hair causing them both to giggle. "Do you guys want anything while I'm there?" Genevieve asked.

Within seconds she had a long lists of requests from all the girls who'd participated in the snowball fight. "What's all this?" Lee asked as he sat down with the twins.

"Genevieve is going to France for Christmas. We were just requesting things for her to bring back." Alicia mumbled as she added more to the ever-growing list. Hazel smacked her hand. "You can't request a French boyfriend Lis!"

Alicia sighed and erased her request with her wand. Genevieve gave her a small smile. "I can bring you back some photos!" she winked conspiratorially. Hazel shook her head and smiled.

Genevieve turned to the newcomers. "Did you guys want me to bring you back?" she asked with a smile. Genevieve slid the list and a quill down to them. She watched as they thought carefully before writing down some suggestions.

She leaned over curiously. "What did you guys request? Things for pranks?" The twins put hands over their hearts pretending to be offended. She rolled her eyes and turned to talk to Angelina.

They talked about their holiday plans for a while. "If E's going to France what are you doing?" Angelina turned to Hazel. Hazel blushed. "Mum is a singer so I'm helping her for her tour over break."

"Does your family do normal?" Alicia asked. Hazel and Genevieve shared a confused look. "Dad has 22 motorbikes in the garage, and he's been trying desperately to get mum to get him another." Genevieve sighed. "Motorbikes?" Alicia looked confused.

"Yes, motorbikes. Flying motorbikes. Mum owns one too, but she thinks dad has too many." Genevieve smiled slightly. "Your dad is going to get rid of a few of his bikes?" Hazel asked, eyes wide.

"Maybe. I already asked just in case he could save one for me." Genevieve downed the rest of her drink. "I should ask uncle Sirius for one too." Hazel murmured. Alicia and Angelina shot each other looks and turned to the other girls.

Hazel poked them and tried to get them to turn around. With a sigh Genevieve turned back to the boys who were now giggling and snickering. "Are you three done?" she asked curiously.

They nodded and slid the paper back towards her. She read through their requests and nodded. "Will do." Genevieve smiled and slipped the request paper into her coat pocket. "Did you ever figure out what was drawn on your back?" Lee asked.

Genevieve shook her head and then smiled slyly. "I've been trying to figure out why Fred let me win the staring contest when it was clear he was going to win." She stood up and let her friends know she was going up to pack.

George and Lee stared at Fred who looked away trying to hide a blush. Genevieve ruffled his hair and left the hall. She packed only what was necessary with lots of room leftover so that she could bring back all of her requests and gifts.

She went to her trunk and put her clothes for her trip in her bag. Most of the girls had requested sweets and pictures. Genevieve flopped onto her bed and rolled around still thinking about why Fred had let her win.

Genevieve stepped off the train and ran over to her parents. "We missed you too Eve!" her mum smiled at her. "She never hugs me first." her father folded his arms and pouted. Genevieve rolled her eyes and gave her father a hug.

They walked through the barrier as they talked about her first term. "You guys played truth or dare?" her father asked as they walked up the steps into the house. Genevieve nodded.

Her siblings Matthew, Diane, and Leslie came running down the stairs and tackled her into a hug. Her mum went to the kitchen and brought lunch to the living room with the help of their house elf Whitley.

They ate their sandwiches and chips as they listened to Genevieve talk about her first term of school. "You never found out what they drew on you?" Leslie interrupted. Genevieve smiled at her little sister and shook her head.

"What else happened?" Matthew asked his gray eyes full of wonder. Genevieve ruffled her brother's mahogany hair. "We ended up doing dare competitions next." she explained. Matthew's eyes widened as she told them about the competitions and the three-person arm wrestling.

"What did you have to do?" Dianne asked picking up another sandwich. Genevieve went silent. Her mother and father shared a look. "I had to do a staring competition." she mumbled lost in thought.

"Did you win?" her mother asked taking a sip of tea. "I guess I won. The other guy sort of went strange at the end and I was declared the winner." Genevieve sighed but a smile tugged at her lips.

"He went strange?" her father asked. "Yeah, I had tears running down my face from the effort of keeping them open for nearly twenty minutes and he 'flinched' for lack of a better word." Genevieve sat back in her chair.

Leslie and Dianne shared a look. "This guy you were up against…" her father began but was swiftly kicked by her mother. "One of the Weasley twins, Fred. Nice kid, but for some reason Fred and George act strangely around me. I asked him but he doesn't even know himself." Genevieve scoffed and shook her head.

Her mother had a smile on her lips and nudged her father. "Oh, I nearly forgot!" Genevieve gasped. She rummaged through her pockets and pulled out a long list. "When my friends heard I was going to France they asked me to pick up some things for them."

Genevieve braided Leslie and Dianne's black hair as the twin girls communicated silently with their gray eyes. "Is it possible that Fred likes you?" they asked. Genevieve scoffed. "That boy and his twin like pranks and mischief too much to notice anyone of the opposite sex."

The twins took their bags down to the front door. Genevieve shook their words off and took her luggage downstairs. Her mum and dad were whispering in the kitchen. Matthew stumbled down the stairs and hit the wall. Genevieve sighed and helped him up.

"Are you ok Matthew?!" their mum ran into the room. Matthew nodded and their dad leaned against the doorframe and smirked. "It's time to go." Everyone picked up their bag and they left.

"Genevieve!" Fleur shouted as she ran towards Genevieve with her arms open wide. Genevieve jumped into her friends arms with a squeal of excitement. Passerby stared at the two giggly girls as the danced and spun around. "I missed you too Fleur!" Genevieve laughed.

"How was your first term of school?" Fleur asked. The two girls put their heads together as they walked and talked through the airport. "There you two are!" Genevieve's mum waved as the rest of her family approached the young girls.

Fleur's family waved to them from the entrance. "Come on! let's start your holiday in France!" Fleur smiled as they went over to her family.
