A.N. – Okay, so this is my Code Lyoko Halloween special! For all of you reading my current story, please know the next chapter is in the works and will be released some time in the coming week. This is set during season 2. On to the terrifying night!

Night of 100 Frights
It is currently Halloween at Kadic Academy, and everyone is geared up for tonight. The school is holding an annual Halloween Dance while everyone else can choose to go out into town with everyone else and go trick-or-treating. Everyone has a costume for tonight and fortunately for the Lyoko Warriors, Xana has been quiet, allowing them to prepare.
Everyone has been planning what they were gonna be for weeks. The Lyoko Warriors decided to go a different route this year and go as they're Lyoko avatars. Since no one would believe them, and no one else knows about Xana or Lyoko, this would be easy to pull off. But before anyone could party the night away, they had to survive a day of school and learn about Halloween or do some Halloween based assignments in class.
The group dispersed out of class and gathered by their usual bench.
"Why do we have to learn about Halloween. It's just a holiday for candy" Odd says, obviously done with today.
"Some actually associate it with evil or darkness" Jeremy replies.
"Yeah, yeah, I know Einstein. You're a walking history book."
"Yeah, and tonight, you're going be a walking purple cat."
"Hey, it took me months to prepare that outfit! And I think it looks fabulous!"
"What about the rest of you?"
"I was able to create a samurai outfit from various pieces of clothing and stickers. I also got a fake sword to be more authentic" Ulrich says.
"I found an old Japanese outfit that I can use. I just need the makeup and I'll be set for tonight" Yumi replies.
"I did the same as Yumi. Only I used various pieces of my clothing to get as close as possible. I think it will work" Aelita replies next.
"What about you Jeremy?" Yumi asks.
"I really don't have anything" Jeremy replies.
"I think Einstein doesn't want to embarrass himself by dressing up as he was on Lyoko" Odd says with a smile.
Everyone laughs, even the girls, even though they didn't know what he looked like on Lyoko.
"Maybe you should go as Einstein, since you seem like a distant relative" Ulrich says to him.
"I'll figure something out. Maybe I'll just dress up and go casually."
"Are you sure Jeremy? You'll be more out of place then everybody else" Aelita asks.
"Halloween's never been my thing anyway. But I should take a night off from developing the anti-virus."
"Since you're glued to the computer, maybe you should dress up as that" Odd says to him.
"Ha ha, very funny" Jeremy replies, glaring at Odd.
(This is basically a clip show showing off everything.)
Everything is going into place for tonight. Some students help Jim set up the gym for tonight. Students head out into town for last minute makeup and any other face paint. Yumi head over to Aelita's room at the dorms to prepare for tonight. The guys however head up to Jeremy's room.
Everyone at the academy has dressed up as a ghost, goblin, witch, or something evil or deadly. The girls were putting on the finishing touches. Aelita finished putting on her sleeves and the one earring she has, like on Lyoko. Yumi pulls out her fan and puts it in her holder that she made. She applies the makeup to give her face that pale white color, with a little blush.
The guys were almost ready to go in Jeremy's room. Odd applied his purple face paint to finish of his Lyoko avatar look. Ulrich finished tying his headband around his head. He places the fake sword in its sheath and attaches it to his outfit. Jeremy however, dresses nicely. Even though it's not really a costume, he could play the part of a casual gentleman.
Walking out of the dorms, all the Lyoko Warriors met and headed down to the gymnasium. They all walked complimenting each other and when they arrived, they saw a line outside the gym and all the monsters that the students dressed up as. Jeremy explained to Aelita that all these creatures were not real, as she never experienced Halloween before.
However, the evil AI known as Xana has different plans. He sees all these new ideas and plans to put them into action. He activates a tower in the forest sector. Things were only about to get worse…
Jim was investigating all the students getting into the gym. Masks were prohibited, but everything else was okay, as long as it was fake. It was the Lyoko Warriors turn to go inside. Odd was first.
"Della Robbia, I thought your purple attire was lousy enough. Now, you've taken it up a level and dressed as a giant purple cat" Jim says to him.
"First, everything I wear is fashionable. And second, it's unique, isn't it?" Odd replies.
"One, don't play smart with me Della Robbia, or you'll spend your time in the dungeon with Executioner Jim and second yeah. Now head in." Next was Ulrich. "Stern, a samurai. I though you'd be a martial arts warrior. Pull out the sword." He does so and Jim feels its plastic. "Okay, head on in." Next was Yumi. "Ishiyama, what is this?"
"Umm a geisha outfit?" Yumi replies, almost curiously to why Jim asked.
"Seems a little inappropriate don't you think?"
"Maybe, but I'm the entertainment type, not the overly sexualized ones that people make them out to be." Yumi pulls out her fan and heads in.
Next was Aelita. "Stones, exactly what are you?"
"Umm, I…I, uh…I'm not sure. I guess an elf" Aelita replies, not knowing what her Lyoko outfit represented.
"A kind of weird elf. And a lot of pink. Ever since I know you Stones; it's been pink everything."
"Just like Odd right. He has purple, I have pink."
"I guess the Della Robbia family line has an obsession with a certain color."
"Guess so." Aelita headed in.
Jeremy was last for the warriors. "Belpois. Do you not know the meaning of the word dress up?"
"Can't I pass as a well-dressed casual gentleman?"
"I guess, but you could have been a little more creative, like your friends. I mean look at Della Robbia is a purple cat."
Jeremy headed in.
Once inside the warriors all converged in one area of the gym while everyone else danced or chatted. Everyone at the academy was stunned by their costumes. However, only the warriors knew the truth behind what their costumes meant.
"Everyone else notice the looks we're getting" Ulrich commented.
"We're unique Ulrich. We're not some standard monster you see every year" Yumi replies.
"Yeah, but I want to be remembered as Odd Della Robbia, master pranker, not the giant purple cat" Odd says.
"Odd, I told you that I can't change your avatar, I can only upgrade it. Your stuck with it" Jeremy tells him.
Out in the dark streets of town a pile of black mass rises from the ground and takes shape. The creatures open their eyes and reveal the sign of Xana. They head to Kadic Academy and to the factory to stop the warriors, and into town to give the residents a true night of fright.
Some time has passed, and the warriors started to dance. Mostly by themselves, but there were some songs where Jeremy and Aelita and Yumi and Ulrich have danced together. Odd was the lone bachelor, but it didn't stop him from trying to find a date for the rest of the dance. Ulrich went over to him eventually.
"Any luck?" Ulrich asks him.
"No. Every girl here I dated or is too young or too old. And in extreme cases taken" Odd replies.
"There is someone out there for you Odd. Only problem here is that everyone knows your tract record. The only way you can find the right one is someone who can look past that or someone who doesn't know about it. You may not find one here to be honest."
"What about you?"
"Let's just say William is trying again."
"Yumi ain't gonna let him take her away from you."
"Yeah, but when is he gonna get the message."
Yumi was talking with William over in a corner.
"Sort of a suggestive costume, don't you think?" William asks.
"Don't get any funny ideas" Yumi warns him.
"No, it's just I don't see you as that type of girl."
"I am Japanese, and this is my heritage, especially in my hometown." (Upon researching a geisha, the article mentions they are common in Kyoto, which is where Yumi is from.)
Yumi walked away back to her friends.
"Very strange. Yumi doesn't usually dress like this or even close."
"What's handsome trying this time?" Odd asks her once she rejoins the group.
"He was asking about my costume and how 'suggestive' it was" Yumi replies.
"Why?" Ulrich asks.
"Look up a geisha Ulrich, and I think you'll understand. I'm not gonna explain it to you."
The creature's shadows are shown as they walk through the gates of the academy. They get closer to the warriors' location. The sign of Xana is shown in their vision as they look around for a path to the gym.
Jeremy and Aelita continue dancing and Aelita can feel the tension in Jeremy through his movements.
"You okay Jeremy? You look a little tense. I can see it in your face" Aelita asks him.
"This is just not my scene Aelita" Jeremy replies.
"You need to learn how to have fun. You can't isolate yourself and glue your eyes to a computer screen 24/7. I mean, what are you gonna do when Xana is destroyed?"
"I'd like to focus on that when we get there. First, I want to free you from Xana completely."
Suddenly screaming is heard form the outside and all the students look to towards the door. Jim goes to investigate and sees nothing. Suddenly a creature comes out of the bushes and tackles Jim to the ground.
"Jim!" Some of the warriors say as they go to his aid. They look up and see a werewolf walking into the open door.
"What's that!?" Aelita asks.
"If I had to take a guess, a werewolf!" Yumi exclaims.
"Then we better scram before we become dog food!" Odd adds.
The werewolf lunges and the students all scramble trying to escape the werewolf. The monster growls as it looks for the warriors who have hidden under a table.
"I thought you said these monsters didn't exist Jeremy!" Aelita whispers loudly to Jeremy.
"They shouldn't" Jeremy responds.
"You think it's Xana?" Yumi asks.
"Could be, but let's not jump to conclusions. Let's try to figure out what this is first."
Suddenly the werewolf lifts the table to revel ate warriors and looks down growling at them.
"Hey ugly!" Odd yells as the werewolf looks over to him. "Bonzai!" Odd kicks the werewolf back and it glances back at them with the sign of Xana in its eyes.
"I guess that answers one question" Ulrich says.
"Xana!" Yumi exclaims.
"I guess that leaves only one option…run!" Jeremy says next and the warriors all run out of the gym.
The werewolf jumps across the gym, quickly gaining ground on the warriors. They quickly close the doors and locking them.
"That should keep him," Ulrich states as the werewolf jumps through the door. "Or not."
"We have to get to the factory" Yumi says.
"How? Who knows what else Xana has waiting for us on our path" Aelita states.
A scream is heard from the town. "Looks like Xana is busy working in town as well" Ulrich says as the werewolf strikes him from behind.
Yumi comes in from behind Ulrich and kicks the werewolf, knocking it out for now. "Let's go!" Yumi grabs Ulrich's hand, and they go to a safe place where the werewolf won't find them so quickly…in the sewers.
The group surveys Ulrich's injuries as he takes of his shirt. "Those are some deep cuts" Aelita says at the severity of it.
"Xana's looking to end us" Odd adds looking up to make sure the werewolf hasn't found them.
Yumi uses the tape around here ankles and feet for bandage. "There, that should stop the bleeding."
"Yeah, but now we have to save the town."
"And deactivate the tower" Aelita adds.
"You two go. Me and Odd will handle the beasts" Ulrich says standing up.
"Are you sure? You're injured" Yumi asks, concerned.
"It will take more than some overgrown wolf to keep me down." Another scream is heard from the town. "Go!"
Jeremy and the girls take off to the factory. Odd and Ulrich prepare to head into town. "Let's go make sure that our friend Mr. Werewolf isn't looking for us," Odd says as he climbs up. He lifts the cover and sees nothing around him. "Coast is clear. Let's go."
They both climb out of the sewers and run towards the town.
The other three reach the bridge to the factory but find another one of Xana's surprises waiting for them. They saw a group of people standing around a cauldron, wearing all black. Yumi couldn't see their faces, but she knew it wasn't good.
"I think Xana's taken precautions. There's three people standing around a cauldron near the entrance" Yumi informs the two.
Jeremy looks next and sees them. "Maybe we can sneak past them. They don't seem to notice us."
The three climb up and start to try to walk silently past them.
"And where do you think you're going!?" One of the cloaked figures asked. They all show their faces, and they realize who they are.
"Witches!" Yumi exclaims.
"Meaning?" Aelita asks.
"Magic…"
One of the witches launches a black mist at Yumi and she goes flying over the edge and onto the floor. She groans as she lands.
"Yumi!" Aelita exclaims.
"Let's go before we end up the same way!" Jeremy says as he grabs Aelita's hand.
The witches fire off more black mist spells before they jump down. They pick up Yumi and use the elevator to get down to the lab. The witches just look as the elevator descends.
"You two get down to the scanner room. I virtualize you to Lyoko" Jeremy says as he sets up the supercomputer.
Aelita helps Yumi to a scanner and Aelita takes one. "We're ready Jeremy" Aelita reports.
"Okay, get ready. Transfer Aelita. Transfer Yumi. Scanner Aelita. Scanner Yumi. Virtualization."
The two are virtualized into Lyoko.
The boys run into town and see a group of kids running. "Hey, hey little guy," Ulrich says grabbing the kid. "What's going on?"
"Something evil came up to us. It growled and we all ran" the kid said to them.
"Can you describe it to us?" Odd asks.
"It looked like…that!" The kid points behind him.
A trio of green faced monsters appeared with wings.
"Goblins, wonderful."
"Go on kid, hide! Get away from here!" Ulrich tells him.
"So how do we take on these goblins?"
"Like any other Xanafied enemy, by fighting."
The two rushed in and the three goblins take flight. The two look up and notice that they won't be able to defeat these things unless they learn to fly.
The two girls land in the forest sector. The Overwing appears in front of them.
"The tower is due west of your current position. Follow the path and eventually you'll reach it," Jeremy informs them as the two hop on and take off. "Be sure to keep a look out for surprises. I'm sure Xana wants to see this one through."
The two follow a narrow path and eventually coming up to a large area. Suddenly a laser is fired. "Yumi, watch out!" Aelita warns her.
Yumi immediately pulls back and the two eye the two krabs guarding the path to the tower. "Aelita, hide. I'll take care of them" Yumi tells her. She jumps off and hides behind a tree. Yumi pulls out her fan and heads towards the krabs. The krabs fire at her and she blocks with her fan. She throws one and hits the target. The krab wobbles before it explodes.
"Nice shot Yumi!" Jeremy tells her before she turns around to confront the other one. Aelita just watches.
The boys run around town as the goblins pursue them. They run as fast as they can, but still can't make any ground on the goblins.
"We need to find a way to get rid of these flying menaces!" Odd says to his friend.
"We need to find some kind of projectile" Ulrich tells him.
Odd picks up a rock. He turns around and throws it at one of the goblins. It hits one and it falls before disappearing. Ulrich picks up two more and quickly throws them at the goblins. They all fall and disintegrate in front of them. "That was easier than I expected" Odd says to him.
They see the black smoke around the ground, and it starts to form another monster. This time Xana choses the living dead. The zombies turn around and groan at the Lyoko Warriors.
"Zombies, again" Ulrich says.
"They're just specters."
A zombie scratches Odd and the fells a searing pain as he drops to knees.
"Doesn't mean they can't hurt. Let's move!"
The zombies go in pursuit of them…slowly.
Yumi approaches the second krab, which continues to fire at her. She blocks and flies high above it. She launches her fan, and it hits the target, and it wobbles, then explodes. Yumi flies back to Aelita.
"Hop on" Yumi tells her.
Aelita jumps on. The two take off on a narrow path and they both see the activated tower ahead of them.
"Tower spotted Jeremy" Aelita says to him.
"Yeah, but we got other problems."
Yumi sees two tarantulas blocking them. They get into firing position. They fire at them, and they land a hit on the Overwing. The two girls both do a flip as the Overwing devirtualizes below them. At the same time Yumi is hit by the tarantulas. She and Aelita run into hiding.
"Yumi, be careful! That was a thirty lifepoint hit you just took!" Jeremy exclaims.
"Thanks Jeremy. I'll try to be more careful." She peeks out to try to see the tarantulas, but they fire only hitting the tree. "If I don't get blasted in the face first."
The guys were hiding in a shop as the zombies come to where they are. They look around and groan as they start to search for them. The guys don't know how to defeat these guys without getting close.
"What do we do?" Odd whispers to Ulrich.
"How would I know!? We have no weapons to fight these guys with" Ulrich whispers back.
"Well, we gotta do something before Xana brings in more friends to assist them with."
Suddenly they hear a growling as their werewolf friend from earlier crashes through the window. They are hiding in the darkness, so the werewolf doesn't see them. The two stay as still as possible as it searches for them. The two act like statues because one wrong move and the werewolf would know of their position.
Yumi thinks of a way to get the tarantulas out of her way. She starts to use her telekinesis and throws a rock at them. The tarantulas scatter and the two take off into the open passageway. Aelita hides behind another tree while Yumi deals with the tarantula. But Aelita is faced with another problem as she hears groaning coming from behind her. She turns around and sees the Scyphozoa in front of her.
"Jeremy!" Aelita cries out.
"Oh no! The Scyphozoa! Yumi!" Jeremy exclaims.
"I got my own problems Jeremy!" Yumi replies back.
"Well, Xana's taking advantage of them. Hurry and find a way to either defeat them, save Aelita, or both" Jeremy informs her.
She quickly glances over and sees the Scyphozoa approaching Aelita. She runs up to it as it grabs her and starts to steal her memory. Yumi quickly slides under it as the tarantulas fire and accidentally shoot the scyphozoa, forcing it to drop Aelita. Yumi then quickly uses her fan to slice the tentacles off. The Scyphozoa floats away as Yumi defends Aelita from the tarantulas. She dodges to the side and then uses her fans to destroy both tarantulas.
Yumi goes over to where Aelita is. "You okay?" She asks.
"Yeah. Thanks" Aelita responds to her.
"Come on. You got a tower to deactivate."
The werewolf was still searching and now some zombies have entered. Odd and Ulrich begin sneaking out. The werewolf hears them and turns to their direction. It then grabs Ulrich and throws him outside. "Ulrich!" Odd screams and then the werewolf grabs him and throws him outside as well.
The two are then confronted by zombies and the werewolf. There were also goblins, witches, and any other frighting creature imaginable. They were surrounded and escape almost seemed impossible.
The two girls reached the tower and Aelita enters the tower. She walks up to the center and then levitates to the top.
The monsters approach the boys and the two close their eyes as they are ready to accept their fate.
Aelita lands on the center platform and places her hand to the interface.

The monsters prepare to strike and finish them off.

The monsters all stop and then disappear in front of the two. The two sigh in relief.
"Tower deactivated" Aelita declares as the screens fall.
Jeremy presses a button. "Return to the past now!" A white bubble appears, and the group is brought back to an hour before the dance.
"Xana's haunted city of doom was the best real like haunted experience I've ever had!" Odd declares as they walk to the gym.
"Why is that?" Ulrich asks.
"Because it felt like I was actually in the Hospital of Horrors, minus all the surgical experiments."
"Odd, everyday we fight Xana is a nightmare" Aelita tells him.
"Maybe for some of us, but to a point it's not scary anymore and you just take the hits as they come. You don't show fear."
"Where's Jeremy?" Yumi asks.
"I don't know, he said he had a surprise for us" Aelita replies.
Jeremy appears to the group as a scientist dressed in a white lab coat. "What do you guys think?"
"Who are you?" Yumi asks.
"Nobody. I'm playing a mad scientist since I'm kind of one already."
"You got that right Frankeinstein. Some of your creations are freaky" Odd says.
"I know. But hopefully my creations will benefit us in the long run and Xana will not be a threat."
With that they all headed in and danced the night away. This was one night of a hundred frights and definitely a night they would not forget or would ever want to repeat ever again.
