It was a pleasantly warm spring morning in the village hidden in the leaves. Today was April 1st which was a special day for many young boys and girls because April First marked the first day of a new school year at the ninja academy, and many young and hopeful future ninjas will finally get their chance to prove their skills and take the first step towards their careers and dreams. One of these children was a young twelve-year-old girl whose name was the one the only Himawari Uzumaki the sunflower of Kohana. Himawari had just been awoken by her mother for her first day at the academy. The young girl rubbed her eyes and then slowly opened them trying to adjust to the bright light coming through her window. Her sky-like blue eyes finally adjusted and she sat up letting her indigo hair bask in the sunlight as she forced herself up and out of her heavenly cotton wonderland. The girl's mother's name was Hinata Uzumaki and she had already left the room telling the girl to get dressed quickly and come downstairs for breakfast. As the girl replayed what her mother had told her she couldn't help but wonder why her mother seemed to be in such a hurry. As she pondered this question she suddenly popped her eyeballs wide open in the realization that her mother said today was going to be her first day at the academy. With this knowledge in hand, she raced to her closet and dawned the same attire she always wore a nice baggy beige jacket with a dark blue undershirt the only difference in her clothes were being that instead of a pink skirt she wore blue pants similar to the ones her mother used to wear as a genin. As she raced out of her room she accidentally bumped into a bigger body and she fell down onto her backside. When the girl looked up at the person she had run into she saw calm grey eyes look back at her along with black and blond hair moving due to the ac blowing in the house. This was an older boy living with her and her family named Kawaki. Kawaki started living with her family almost two years ago when he escaped from a group called Kara. Himawari didn't know much about the boy or the organization he escaped from but she respected and treated Kawaki like an older brother ever since he saved her from a woman called Delta and willing gave an arm for her. Kawaki and her older brother Boruto have become close in these last two years which helped develop the big bro Lil sis relationship She and Kawaki shared. Himawari quickly apologized saying "I'm sorry Kawaki-Kun I wasn't watching where I was going. "Well that was obvious, and it's fine now get up your sitting in front of the bathroom" cooly replied Kawaki. Despite the cold demeanor, Himawari knew Kawaki didn't carry any bad intent in his words. Himawari quickly got up and dusted herself off and carefully went to the kitchen to eat her breakfast. As she sat down at the table she watched two yellow flashes quickly appeared in the kitchen. Those flashes being her big brother and father. Both blondes quickly grabbed some toast and shoved it into their mouths as they scrambled for the door. Himawari's father Naruto Uzumaki was the Hokage of the village and always had to be at his office early in the morning while her big brother Boruto had to meet up with his master Sasuke Uchiha for morning training. Boruto had recently hit a growth spurt in the last couple of months and has caught up to Kawaki in height and continued to grow alongside him. Both Kawaki and Boruto are now taller than mama and only a couple of inches shorter than papa. As both men left Himawari felt a little sad that she couldn't have breakfast with her family as they used to before her papa became the Hokage and her brother a ninja. Hinata who was always able to tell and predict her daughter's emotional state quickly commented on how her father was going to be at the academy to conduct the entrance ceremony for her class. Himawari realizing this beamed at the chance to spend just a little more time with her father and happily ate her breakfast as she is mentally prepared for the day. However no amount of preparation that morning could have helped what was going to occur this fateful day.
