Three hours.

That was how long Isabella Swan had until she had to get ready for school. The gamer had been noticeably irritable throughout the day before. She didn't care that her dad picked her up from the airport in the police cruiser and essentially chauffeured her around the town and even to Seattle in it. That didn't bother her, nor did the comfortable silence in the car. What did bother the streamer was the fact that she had been unable to game until late. New Moon Online was having a double XP weekend on top of a rare drop event. She was missing all of that loot, damn it! All the grinding she would have to do when she finally hooked her computer up was going to be ridiculous but no! She had to go purchase a new TV for her room and pay to get it installed in the wall. She also had to upgrade her father's admittedly shitty internet.

Charlie tried to pay for the things his daughter wanted. She refused, opting instead to pay with the money she earned from her streams and writing reviews for GamerZ United magazine. He did, however, purchase her a new webcam, mic, and desk for her PC set up. Thankfully, when she got to Forks it was relatively early, so they got everything done by dinner and all that was left was the dreaded unpacking. So Bella spent her evening setting everything up. Charlie built the desk as his only daughter set up her consoles beneath the tv on a shelf he also installed into the wall. All of her fans wondered if she was only a PC gamer. Short answer: hell no. PC, PS4, Xbox One, as well as a 3DS and PSP. Her next big purchase? A Nintendo Switch. But that could wait. Finally, just a little after midnight, Bella had gotten everything the exact way she wanted.

She sat in her gaming chair, a gift from her father that she gave him a fierce hug for, and booted up her PC. Twin monitors, an LED keyboard that lit up neon pink, green and purple, and a butt load of space. This was her baby. Her first major purchase as an employed woman… er, teen. It didn't matter. She had some grinding to do. Which was what led to her gaming until morning.

Charlie was surprised to find her still up, eyes glued to one of her monitors as she clicked a staccato rhythm with her mouse as she tapped incessantly on her keyboard in a pattern privy to her alone. He couldn't help but chuckle as he watched his baby girl for a few more minutes. Bella was not aware of the world around her. So when he moved to get a look over her shoulder, she flinched violently as she jumped and yelped.

"Oh gods, dad!" Her hand was pressed against her chest as she panted. Forty years had just been scared off of her life. "You scared me."

Chuckling, Charlie shook his head. "I can see that, Bells. Sorry, didn't mean to."

Struggling to gain control of her runaway heart, Bella sat back down in her chair and gave her old man a smile. "Heading in to work?"

He nodded with a sigh. "Yep. Don't forget you have school today. You can play later."

"Oh come on, dad." Bella whined before giving a wide grin. "I'm going to play at school. During lunch at least."

Chief Charlie Swan rolled his eyes and pressed a gentle kiss to his daughter's head. "Sure, kid. I'll see you later. Be safe and have a good day."

"You too, dad." She called after him.

She leaned back in her chair and turned her gaze to her New Moon Online avatar. Another minute or two shouldn't hurt.

This proved to be a rather poor decision; another minute became an hour, which became two and then three. So KlutzyPhoenix ended up being late to school. In the red truck gifted to her by her father, Bella tried to fly across town in order to avoid being any later.

The truck didn't comply.

The time it took for the day to advance to lunch was unforgivable. While Bella could game for upwards of days at a time without so much as moving (save using the bathroom), listening to an uninteresting teacher's droning lecture about a subject that had no bearing on her future whatsoever was trying. Trigonometry was the dullest subject on her entire roster of classes. However, it was in Trig that she had her first encounter; a girl by the name of Jessica Stanley seemed to latch onto her. She had no idea why, but she just let it happen. The tiny brunette seemed to be shy towards Bella, but when it came to everyone else, she was a total chatterbox. Her voice was nice enough though.

Her second class was Creative Writing, which she had no problem with. She noticed a tiny girl in this class too, one who was more reminiscent of a pixie from the Twilight expansion of New Moon Online. She too seemed to sit rather close to Bella, not that the gamer girl noticed. She was a bit too into the drama she was writing for the class.

Next came History, which she ignored completely. Sure, she copied notes as they came up on the board, but she was more focused on the outline of her next review for GamerZ United. After that class was Spanish, where Jessica made another appearance. She only paid attention to half of the class, her attention mostly on the review she was working on. Jessica seemed to be on the fence about getting her attention, so focused on her own classwork.

Finally, lunch came and she could take a much needed break. Her earbuds blasting Twice's Get Loud in her ears, she whipped out her PSP and began grinding materials as she made her way to the cafeteria. Though she was completely ignorant to those around her, she never seemed to miss a step or bump into someone else. Even the wilder boys sprinting through the halls seemed to miss bumping into her completely.

When she entered the cafeteria, she reluctantly slid her system into her pocket and made her way through the lunch line, picking up a couple sandwiches and a Diet Coke. She was looking for a place to sit when a hand came to rest on her arm. Looking to her right, she noticed Jessica trying to drag her towards the table where she and rest of her friends sat. She was… underwhelmed. Eric was alright, but he reminded her of a stoner. Mike was like an irritating puppy. Angela was totally her type. Jessica was tolerable. Lauren reminded her of the red-haired girl from Huniepop; the one known as a mega-bitch. After finishing her lunch, she pulled out her PSP again and went back to her gaming.

Jessica tried to get her attention roughly five minutes into a particularly difficult boss fight. It was to tell her about the juiciest bit of gossip in this small town; the Cullens. Bella began to stop listening after she said 'Cullens'. The boss dodged her attack with a left-strafe and followed up with an upward slash of his flaming greatsword. Bella's character dodge-rolled and tossed a fireball. She missed and muttered a curse.

"And that's Edward Cullen," she looked up at the family with bored eyes as Jessica went on with her explanation about how unattainable he was in terms of dating.

"Who's the redhead?" Bella asked, finally speaking for the first time since lunch started.

"Victoria." Jessica's brows furrowed. "Were you not listening to me?"

Bella could damn near hear the pout in her voice. "So far she's the only one of them that has my attention. The rest of them aren't so impressive."

The silence that followed was offset by the noise surrounding them as well as the clicking of Bella's fingers against the buttons of her console. It wasn't everyday that someone wasn't enamored by the pale skinned siblings. Jessica peered over Bella's shoulder in time to see her purple haired avatar dodge roll out of the way of a rather intimating looking character much larger than the avatar she controlled. Much to Jessica's irritation, she noticed Angela also watching Bella play. If the new girl minded her personal space being invaded in such a way, she didn't make her discomfort known. Her focused seemed to be on the game, until at last, the sign of her victory flashed across the screen in red-orange letters. She saved the game and set it down. Apparently, the pause feature had no effect on the game play.

"So," Lauren was the one that decided to broach the topic, though there was a chance that it was her own curiosity. "You gay or something?"

Yep, mega-bitch indeed. Bella thought before leveling a harsh glare at the girl sitting across from her. "Is that a problem?"

Tension choked the atmosphere for the briefest moments. Lauren turned away from the new girl's glare.

"No." she muttered. "Welcome to Forks, I guess."
