When Karma Comes to Collect
I don't own KHR.
The Hashimotos looked around the cruise ship and nodded at all the amenities, from the pools to the outside bar off in the distance. When they had received a letter in the mail informing them that they had won a short free trip on the Sea Child, they weren't surprised. Hashimoto Ankoku was an important businessman and bound to become the next vice president of his company any day now. Hashimoto Amaya was a movie actress and while her name definitely wasn't well-known, she had recently been given a small role in what promised to be a popular blockbuster.
So of course they would be accepted to be part of a beta test of sorts for the new cruise ship with the best of accommodations the world could offer. And while it was admittedly a bit strange that the trip was only for three days, they couldn't find it in themselves to complain. They were very busy people, after all, three days was all the free time they had to relax and be pampered by the staff. So they just reasoned that the cruise line didn't want to make the same mistake as Titanic and left it at that.
"Shall we drop our stuff off in our room before we go inspect the bar darling? I must say I feel a little bit parched," suggested Amaya as she turned to her husband, who had dark, short-cropped hair and eyes a shade or two lighter than black.
"The sun is unbearably hot," Ankoku muttered as he glared at the sun like that alone could stop it from shining. Then he turned to his wife, who had long, dark purple hair and periwinkle eyes. "Let's go."
The couple then went below deck and after going down a few floors, found their room. It was a decent-sized room, with beds covered with beautiful blankets and there was a window with a great view of the ocean. The bathroom attached had fancy-designed faucets and the TV looked to be high quality. There was only one slight curiosity.
"Why are there two bunk beds?" asked Amaya, feeling a little miffed even though she was willing to look past this oversight if it meant a relaxing vacation. "Did they think we also had two children?"
Before Ankoku could answer, the door behind them open. The Hashimotos turned around just in time to find another couple walking in, their bags slung across their backs as well as in their hands. When they locked eyes with the Hashimotos, the new couple stopped in their tracks.
"Uh...I thought our room was 304?" asked the man with golden brown hair that covered his forehead as his gray eyes darted to his wife.
"It is 304," hissed the woman with long white hair that reached her waist as her dark golden eyes became annoyed.
"Check again," advised Amaya a bit shortly as she crossed her arms. "Because we were assigned to room 304 and I know we didn't make a mistake."
"Well, for your information, I memorized not only our room number but also the layout of the ship and the scheduled events, so no, we didn't make a mistake," sniped back the woman as she glared at Amaya, sounding very offended and even more annoyed than before.
"It was on purpose," Ankoku said suddenly. "They assigned us to the same room. That's why there are four beds, we're roommates."
There was a moment of silence as the other three pondered on this.
"Well, no offense to you two, but the only roommate I want is my own wife," the man stated simply.
"Agreed, let's all go to the office to sort this mistake out," Ankoku replied with a firm nod.
"Alright, but they better be quick about our new room assignments, or else I will leave a very nasty rev-"
"Sorry, but this isn't a mistake."
The new couple swiveled around as the Hashimotos looked past them with wide eyes full of alarm. At the doorway stood a man with blue hair styled similarly to a melon, another man with a bandage on his nose, and a beautiful woman with long, wavy blonde hair.
"You four really are roommates," the blue-haired man continued as he glared at them in a way that suggested he was disgusted at the sight of them.
The door had been closed...when did it open? How did they not hear it open? How did the Hashimotos not see them? Sure, their attention had been focused on the other couple but still…
"Who are you? How did you get in?" Amaya cried angrily as she tried to quench her uneasiness at the newcomers' sudden arrival.
"I'm Elena, this is Daemon, and this is Knuckle," the lady answered as she motioned to first the blue-haired man then the man with the bandage. "And we opened the door."
"Are you part of the management of the Sea Child?" Ankoku asked as his voice remained calm despite the indignation and irritation in his eyes.
"No, but we will be...ultimately taking care of you for the next three days," the man with the bandage informed them with no trace of a smile anywhere on his face.
"Wait staff then, huh? Well, this is majorly unprofessional," the white-haired lady chastised them, her voice full of scorn and pure displeasure.
"Yes, where is your manager? We as passengers have every right to be-"
"Oh, like you had the right to drop your own son off at an orphanage in a foreign country even though you two had the sufficient means to nurture and care for him?" Knuckle interrupted the golden-haired man as he took a step forward. "Mr. and Mrs. Sasagawa?"
Whether it was because the calm yet clearly angry man was now a step closer to them or because their past had been uncovered for all to see, both Sasagawa's faces turned pure white.
"And Hashimotos, don't go thinking you two are any better, in fact, you're even worse," Elena added through gritted teeth as her words dripped with hate and disgust while she stepped forward to stand next to Knuckle. "You knowingly sold your own daughter to people that made it their business to perform deadly experiments on children!"
Now it was the Hashimotos' turn to be frightened as Amaya felt her blood turn to ice while Ankoku looked so pale that it almost seemed like all the blood had been evaporated from his body.
"How...do you know about-" Mrs. Sasagawa stammered before the other passengers jumped into the conservation like a bunch of scared gazelles.
"She wasn't my daughter! I needed the money to make an important investment to move forward in my career!"
"He was obsessed with boxing! After our darling angel died, how could anyone expect us to keep that brat around?"
"She was in the way of my marriage! I had to get rid of her, she was just a waste of space anyway, she always was-"
"Enough!" Then suddenly, as if Daemon had somehow uttered some evil curse, the room swiftly darkened, despite the sun shining brightly through the window just a second ago.
"We don't care about the selfish reasons you cooked up to make you feel better about your cruelty," Daemon continued as he moved forward to stand next to Elena. "All we care about-"
Then in a blink of an eye, Daemon was right in front of Ankoku with his hand cupped around Amaya's husband's chin and a trident in his other hand.
"Is making you scream."
And thus began the worst three days of any of their lives.
I will leave it up to you whether Vongola let them live or not. Though I like to think that after the Ankoku and Amaya went to jail while the Sasagawas spent the rest of their lives always looking over their shoulder...
So what did you think? Please leave a review on your way out and have a great day/night!
