Nymphadora stared after Professor Snape left. Did the Professor just comfort her? In the most bizarre way? Nymphadora shook her head. She must have imagined it. She walked over to Madam Pince and gave her a note signed by Professor Sprout. She tapped her wand against the parchment when Pince wasn't looking and made it say, Most Evil Potions and How to be Aware of Them. She loved the book lots and she went to it whenever her favourite was out on the shelves. Madam Pince nodded her head and she gave the book to Tonks off the trolley, but not before looking at the note suspiciously. She grinned and started walking to her favourite place to read before she came to a full stop.
She and her friends had duplicated the note several times so that they could get any book they wanted. Her friends had helped her with this note. Her friends that she had been ignoring and been mean to all day. Anna, who just wanted to say sorry, but Nymphadora was too stubborn. Matt, who just wanted to explain what had happened, but she was too angry to talk with him. Her friends probably hated her, they probably never wanted to speak with her. And Nymphadora knew that their actions were justified, she deserved it.
Nymphadora took a few steps forward and then sank to her knees. She was a horrible person. She remembered a book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Her dad used to read that book every night for bedtime stories. She felt she was Alexander at the moment, with all the bad things happening to her. She shook her head and tucked her knees against his chin.
Nymphadora let a gasp of surprise come out as two arms wrapped around her. She turned around was meet with the kind face of
Aurora Sinistra. Her olive robes and her dark hair framed perfectly for her bright blue eyes. Her wrinkles became more pronounced as she broke into a grin. She had always wondered how old she was...
She hadn't realised she had thought her thought out loud until,
"Really Nymphadora? Asking a woman how old they are? You have no tact." Nymphadora swallowed and she hurried to apologize. Sinistra waved her apology off.
"That's alright Nymphadora, do you still want to know?" Nymphadora looked down and nodded shyly. Sinistra started to speak, a wild gleam entering her eyes.
"Well, I'm older than Minerva McGonagall." The Metamorphmagus' eyes went wide and she made a slight gagging sound. Sinistra nodded emphatically.
"I know, Minerva is really old. I was two years ahead of her in Hogwarts, the same year as the Black Twins, oops, sorry, Walburga and Luerita Black." Nymphadora let her Jaw drop, the Professor was old. Really, Really old.
"I know I'm Old Darlin''' Sinistra laughed a little and she asked seriously,
"What's wrong Ms Nymphadora?" Nymphadora then let her guard down and told Aurora all about how horrible she had been and what her friends had done. Sinistra listened with a patient ear and she asked a few clarifying questions.
Finally, after Nymphadora's rant, they both sat in silence. Tonks because of everything she had just revealed, and Sinistra because she shocked to the core. She finally said,
"Well Nymphadora, I'm going to tell you a story, I think this will help you" Nymphadora nodded and she started to listen to this tale.
Once Upon a Time, there were two boys, they were the best of friends. Their names were Fleamont Potter and Lyall Lupin.
"Lyall Lupin?" Tonks interrupted. "Binns called me that during History" Sinistra smirked and continued with her story, telling Tonks not to interrupt.
Fleamont was something of a prankster, while Lyall was a bookworm, of course, he would kill me if he heard that I had said that, but who cares? Then, Fleamont did something almost unforgivable, Lyall had gotten VERY angry at Fleamont, like how you got angry with your friends.
Sinistra sighed and looked at Tonks. " I can't really explain the next part" Tonks looked down, disappointed.
Sinistra smirked, "But I can show you"
Sinistra took her by the arm and they both ran up to Dumbledore's office, where they both knocked. A loud 'Come In' was heard and they both went inside. When they both were inside, Tonks wrinkled her nose, she was never the one to hate any colours, excluding Plae Yellow and Green, but there was too much Red and Gold in the room. As soon as Tonks regained her vision, she noticed that she wasn't the only one in the room. Along Professor Sinistra and Dumbledore, there was Professor Snape, Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, and McGonagall. Sinistra cleared her throat and she asked calmly,
"May Nymphadora and I use your pensive Professor? We require it." Dumbledore nodded and she had a good look at the place. Snape and Sprout were fuming, Snape's Black eyes flashing slightly in anger at Dumbledore. Professor Flitwick's eyebrows were slightly furrowed, but that was all. Professor McGonagall was the only one who didn't to be affected at all. Soon, Tonks was being dragged by Sinistra to the office and told to wait there. Tonks put her hands on her hips and she tapped her foot annoyed. She finally got bored of just waiting, though it had only been 2 minutes. She crept up to the closed door and put her ear against the entrance. Maybe she was just paranoid, but she thought they were talking about her. It was just a hunch, but she just knew that they were talking about her.
She listened closely and was able to catch a few words. Nymphadora...What...Do...Headmaster...Wrong...Dora...Alright.
Tonks shook her head and withdrew herself from the wall. She growled, frustrated, she had gotten barely any information, but at least she knew they were talking about her. As footsteps came towards the door, she stepped back, pretending to be filing her nails. She looked up carelessly and raised her eyebrow, making her look more like a Black than ever. Sinistra smirked and leaned in close to her, speaking quietly,
"Ms Nymphadora, we have a choice, we can either stay here and listen to the memory, or we can go to my office, you can choose." Tonks nodded towards the door and they both left. Hand in Hand.
