A BIG TIME SKIP

Tonks and Anna walked across the Black Lake. It was freezing outside, considering it was December. Tonks would probably be staying at Hogwarts this Christmas. She couldn't bear to look her parents in the eye. Anna grinned at her, wearing her blue overcoat. Tonks looked up, snow was falling slowly, dripping on her face, making her eyes more crystalized. It was gorgeous, but then again, Christmas at Hogwarts always was.

Nymphadora glided on her skates, the ice holding her up. She loved Winter. She loved it so much. The only holiday that was better was Spring, and that was only because of all the colours that were around.

Neither Charlie nor Matt had apologized yet. Tonks was more than ready to forgive them. She was a little more stable than from the beginning and she felt happy. Really happy.

"Hey, Anna? What are you doing this Holiday?" Anna looked at her and smiled, her brown eyes lighting up.

"Well, Mum and Dad are planning to take Matt and me to Australia. We've never been and Matt really wants to go. He says that there is a lot of cultures there." Tonks nodded and she looked at her nails, biting them slightly. She really wanted her two other friends again. Tonks was so busy thinking that she didn't see where she was going and she tripped over her boots, sending her sprawling. Normally, Tonks wouldn't mind falling down. Yes, she would be annoyed and yes, she would be embarrassed. But she wouldn't be hurt.

But this time, Tonks had fallen down on the ice. Hard cold ice. She grimaced as she got up, favouring her right leg. She inspected it, Anna coming towards her. It wasn't that bad, but it was cold and bloody. Tonks touched the gash curiously and winced as she felt a burning sensation go through her leg. Anna helped her up.

"Are you alright Tonks?" Anna said, her voice quavering. Tonks looked at her and grinned,

"I'm fine Anna, nothing a bit of Metamorphing can't handle." She then looked at her leg and willed it to cover up the already bruising. She winced once again with pain. She suddenly gasped, using her cloak to hide her injury. Her bone must have been out of place. So that meant only one thing.

Tonks ankle joint was broken and sticking out of place. It was visible, considering every time she put pressure on it, it would tear a little of her skin. She fell down again, gently holding her leg up in pain. Anna sat down next to her, looking through her books she had grabbed from the Library. She threw the books down in annoyance, they had nothing about healing spells! Tonks rolled her eyes and looked into the distance. She squinted, Tonks could see someone. She gasped and watched a boy come towards her. This brownish hair and brown eyes were fixed on her. She suddenly came to a realisation, this boy was Matt.

Matt dropped onto his knees and looked at her leg. He said, a hint of amusement in his voice,

"Quite a tumble you've taken Tonks." Tonks laughed but immediately clutched her leg. Damn, it really did hurt.

"What are you doing here Matt?" Matt looked at her as he pulled out his wand.

"Actually, I came out here to look for you. I wanted to, well, uh." Matt suddenly pointed his hand at her leg and muttered,

"Espikey." Tonks' leg suddenly felt very hot, then freezing cold. She felt it and grinned. Though it was still sore, she was feeling much better already. Matt started to wrap her leg in some gauze.

"Matt! You never answered my question!" Matt looked at her, his cheeks becoming red. Tonks wasn't sure if it was from the cold or from something else.

"I cam out here to say sorry to you Tonks." When Nymphadora didn't say anything he continued,

"I now realise that I've been a big prat to you. Best friends don't keep secrets from each other. Can we please put this all behind us?" Matt looked up, his cheeks still red. Tonks suddenly slammed into him.

"Of course I forgive you. Idiot. What did you think?" Matt grinned and hugged her, wondering where Anna had gone to. Maybe she decided to leave them be? He sighed, the girl he had thought of, like his little sister, of course, was no longer angry at him. He hugged her tightly. He was sorry, really sorry. Charlie was also Sorry, but he couldn't work up the courage to actually go up to Tonks. Tonks had even missed his birthday. Charlie was very upset when he heard, but he had gotten a letter from someone. It had said something about how Charlie was amazing and how he should have a good rest of his 15th birthday. Charlie had shone him the letter and Matt had read it. It had little hearts and stars everywhere and was written with what suspiciously looked like a certain Metamorphmagus' handwriting.

It was Tonks. All Tonks. She was the best friend anyone could ever have. He couldn't bear losing her. Never.

Because there was only one Nymphadora Tonks.
