Vienna by Billy Joel
Played in the background. One of her favorite songs.
Brooke Davis Scott. Took her time updating her children's photo albums. It was a past time she enjoyed and looked forward it took place days after their birthday. Every year.
From innocent babies and toddlers. To the children they were now.
It was a tradition. A keepsake. She could look back on. Along with them when they were old enough to appreciate it.
The Scott triplets had recently just turned 12.
Dakota. Mathew. And Nicholas.
Nicholas Keith Scott was their sports lover. He watched and played. He had his father's looks. Blond hair. Blue eyes. With his mother's personality.
Mathew Alan Scott was their observant. Smart. Reserved. Loving. Book reader. He enjoyed learning and longed to travel. His bedroom was covered with books and cut out pictures of various places he wanted to travel too when he got old enough.
He had blond hair and hazel eyes.
Lastly Dakota Maya Scott. She was all brown hair. Hazel eyes. And dimpled grins. She was a combination of both her parents. You never knew what to expect when it came to her. She had her mother's big heart and stubbornness. Along with her her father's love and loyalty to family and friends.
Hearing footsteps coming down the stairs. Brooke finished the remaining photo album then put it away with the others.
Lucas smiled at the sight of his wife. In front of the fireplace.
"You checking up on me.?" Brooke asked.
"I am. I know how emotional this day can be for you."
"The kids are asleep. And might not be up for school tomorrow given how late it is they slept tonight." He informed her.
Brooke moved over. Making room for him to join her.
He sat down beside her. Wrapping his arm around her.
While she cuddled into him.
"Let them sleep in if they want. This is the last year we get before everything changes. I want to savor it." Brooke replied.
Lucas leaned over kissing her gently.
She kissed him back.
"Let's go to bed. Hosting a birthday party for countless 12 year olds along with friends and family is way more tiring then i realized." Lucas announced.
Getting off the living room chair he had been sitting on. Extending his hand to hers.
She took it. Letting him lead her up the stairs.

Hours Later
In the morning
Brooke awoke and smiled. Smelling the mouth watering aromas. She knew her husband was making breakfast. She got out of bed. Put on her robe and slippers then headed out of their bedroom.
The kitchen was the heart of their home. Alot happened here. This morning was after birthday brunch.
Waffles. Eggs. Sausage. Bacon. Lucas did it all. Being raised by the beloved Karen Roe cafe owner. He learned everything about cooking and baking from her.
Aside from his three children who were already seated at the table. There was also their kids best friends that had slept over.
