Hello Everyone. This is my first try at doing fanfiction. This is honestly a project that I did not intend to do, but a couple of people who are both important parts of my life motivated me enough to do this.
This is mainly a storyline that will follow Spider-Man and his friends. The members of the Avengers are not a main part of the stories that I have in mind. It's mainly all about Spider-Man and his allies/friends (i.e. Wolverine, Agent Venom, Anti-Venom, Iron Fist, Power Man, etc.) Also, the way that this story is, I will put a warning up since there will be times that this can get pretty graphic with blood and gore. It is not going to happen now, per se, but for future reference, just letting you all know. The timeline of this story is mainly about 8 years into the life of Peter Parker as Spider-Man so he's out of college and is a young adult at 23 years of age, trying to make his way in the world.
Our story begins in an alley in Queens, NY.
Scorpion just stands there, astonished and mouth agape, realizing that his barbed stinger just got destroyed. Before him stands a 6' 6" tall man with a suit of yellow and black, a smirk gleaming from his face as he destroyed the stinger with no effort. Once realizing that the man has unbreakable skin, Scorpion starts to realize in horror who exactly he is fighting. Luke Cage, with a grin across his face, then utters the words in a triumphant tone "My turn, little bug." As this is said, Luke Cage winds up and throws a straight jab right in Scorpion's torso, sending him flying across the alleyway of this brawl.
As Scorpion flies through the alley, Iron Fist is in hand to hand combat against a man garbed in a blue and orange suit with a white hooded cape. Looking into the man's face, he saw he had a mask designed as a skull painted in white underneath the hood. Danny had heard of this man before in passing and to not underestimate him. He couldn't remember the name that he was given...was it Taskmaker? Taskmopper?...Oh, Taskmaster! That was it! Apparently he's able to copy and mimic the strength of one's fighting style and stances by just fighting them and looking long enough. Danny thought that was doubtful as he had learned all facets of K'un L'un's martial arts when training to be the Iron Fist. As he thought this to himself, he began to realize that Taskmaster had gone from being on the defensive to now being able to anticipate and dodge his every move, as if he knew the exact attacks that were going to transpire. Stunned in astonishment, Danny then said to Taskmaster, "How are you able to hold your own against me? I studied and learned ancient teachings from the Shaolin Monks!" To which Taskmaster replied, "Kid, I've fought heroes stronger and faster than you." As this is said, Taskmaster is matching his every move, stopping the offensive advance that the Iron Fist was making and is now using the moves that he saw against the martial artist. Danny has now switched to being defensive, thinking about his every move to make sure he does not leave himself open. As he is blocking the offensive advance that Taskmaster is doing, he then hears gunshots in the background. He sees Crossbones and Punisher having a firefight just across from him as they are shooting and dodging the bullets they are firing off at one another. Seeing this opportunity, Taskmaster draws his sword, going in for the ltha;l strike on Iron Fist.
As Taskmaster goes in for the kill, Luke Cage stops his advance towards Scorpion, who is reorienting himself after the jab, he sees out of the corner of his eye the action that Taskmaster is about to do. He makes a mad dash to where Taskmaster and Iron Fist are as he stops Taskmaster's strike, catching the hand that is wielding the sword as he turns his head to where Danny is at and screams at him "Do it now!". As Luke Cage yells this out loud, Danny then focuses his chi and he forms his right hand into a fist as it then starts to radiate the yellow energy of his focused chi and closes the gap in on Taskmaster. Taskmaster then realizes the plan that is unfolding before him as he sees The Iron Fist closing the gap to make an attack with his fist, which he now sees is glowing yellow. Out of pure fear and instinct, he pulls out an item shaped like a baton that extends out to shape a circular shield as he covers his flank from the glowing fist that is heading right towards him. The fist makes contact with the shield as a huge repercussive blast reverberates throughout the alleyway and neighborhood as some of the glass off the windows of the buildings shatters and falls to the ground.
As the repercussions of the blast shake through the alleyway, Crossbones and the Punisher pause their firefight as they are shaken from the blast. As they reorient themselves, the Punisher sees that The Scorpion just fell from the blast before he could fully restore himself from the initial attack made by Luke Cage. Seeing this opportunity, Frank gains his footing and pulls out his shotgun that he had on his back, loading it with shells, ready to kill him. As he advances towards the stunned enemy, he then sees a spray of flames burst through the air, beginning to envelop him as hejumps back out of pure instinct. He then traces the origin of the flames to see Crossbones shooting it out of his gun as he stops and puts in a new fuel cell into it and pulls the trigger, spewing more flames from the gun as the Punisher rolls to the side, dodging the incoming flames. As he takes cover, he sees how some of the flames caught onto his black trench coat. He then forms an idea of how to gain the upper hand in this battle. He pats down the coattail to extinguish the flame, and starts to take it off to execute his plan. He then rolls out of cover, shoots his shotgun, throws the trench coat, towards Crossbones' direction, and unloads all of his shells from his shotgun, closing the gap that is between them for a more personal battle. As The Punisher rolls out of cover, Crossbones stands poised and ready to pull the trigger of his flamethrower as he is knocked back by the initial shot of the first shell from the shotgun. He centers himself and sees a large black coat thrown in his direction, impairing his vision as he then feels jolts of pain from the unloading of the shells from The Punisher as he gets knocked back multiple times from the force of the blows. As he feels each shot, he begins to fight through the pain of the shots and sees that the coat has finally fallen to the floor, revealing The Punisher advancing towards him. The Punisher notices that his preemptive strike has ended, realizing that his coat has fallen to the ground as he keeps advancing, putting away his shotgun and drawing his knife, ready for the close quarters combat that is about to unfold. As Crossbones reorient himself, he notices how the Punisher has drawn his knife and realizes that he may have the advantage as he quickly pulls out a pistol, firing straight as the Punisher. As the bullets fly at the Punisher, he continues his pace, not moving or strafing away from them, but instead shrugging off the impact and pain of the bullets that are hitting him on the chest of his skull designed suit. Crossbones looks in astonishment as he reloads and is ready to fire another hail of bullets at the vigilante. The Punisher stops Crossbones right as he is about to pull the trigger and disarms him, leaving him open for a strike from his knife. As Crossbones is disarmed, he sees the blade coming along his right flank as the blade skirts along his torso, just grazing the top of his crossbone designed suit of armor, happy to know that he really did receive top of line gear before taking this gig. As he smirks victoriously, Punisher just looks in bewilderment as he just says aloud "Aw Fuc-" as Crossbones headbutts him, jolting him backwards and losing his grip on his knife. Crossbones does a right hook, leading to Punisher blocking with his left arm and gripping the right arm with his left, leaving him open for attack. As the Punisher grips Crossbones' right arm, he starts to knee him in the stomach multiple times. Crossbones is put on the defensive as he tries to block each blow with his free left arm only to have the Punisher wave it off with his right arm and proceed to keep on the offensive. The Punisher realizes that this is a war of attrition, given how durable Crossbones is and how there's only so much energy that he has. As the Punisher keeps wailing on Crossbones, he senses something amiss as he looks to his left and immediately ducks from a shield that could have nearly taken his head clean off had he reacted a second too late. The Punisher turns his attention towards the man who threw it, Taskmaster, as he makes a mad dash towards him in almost a frenzied rage. As Crossbones regains his footing and looks up, he sees that the Iron Fist is getting up from being beaten as he sprints ferociously towards him, drawing his knife for the lethal blow. As he raises the knife for the attack, all of sudden his charge is put to an abrupt end as he hears a random THWIP. Hiis feet are now somehow webbed to the ground along with his knife and hand enveloped in spider webbing.
Eight minutes earlier
Spider-Man swings through the city of New York, admiring it's gorgeous skyline, thinking to himself how thrilled it is to be today. "I can't wait to meet the professor today with Eddie! This new job is going to be fantastic!" Peter thinks aloud as he climbs up a building, perking atop an eagle shaped metal gargoyle as he looks over his home city, about to shoot a web from his left palm as he then sees the repercussions of the blast resonate from the neighborhood on his right hand side. He gives a sigh of dismay, thinking to himself that maybe it wouldn't be so bad getting his job back at the Daily Bugle and J. Jonah Jameson might not be so angry if he comes back with pictures of Spider-Man from this battle as he swings towards the trouble. As he swings, he starts to think to himself how he just wants one quiet day, just one day where nothing bad has to happen and how he can actually make it on time to where he has to go for once. When he reaches the location, he sees the battle between the heroes and villains that is happening. He also begins to look around the whole area, seeing that the NYPD has cordoned off the entire area, making sure that no civilian gets injured during the battle that is unfolding in the alleyway. Spider-Man is relieved to know he won't have to worry about the endangerment of civilian lives as he scopes the battlefield, seeing the firefight that was between Punisher and Crossbones turn into close quarters combat. Spider-Man begins to think that the heroes have it handled and they don't need his help. Right as he is about to webswing away, he notices the tide of the battle change as Iron Fist gets beaten by Taskmaster as he then throws his shield at Punisher, garnering his attention. He sees Crossbones go in for the kill at Iron Fist as he thinks aloud "Ok, I better stop this. Time for me to end this!"
Now
Crossbones stands there immobilized by the webs as Spider-Man drops in from above and remarks, "Wow everyone! You had a whole party happening here and forgot to invite your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man? That hurts!" As he says this, everyone turns to him, Iron Fist and Power Man having a smile across their faces as the Punisher just rolls his eyes. The Scorpion turns his attention to Spider-Man after gaining his footing and screams in anger "Kill the web head! We already have our hands full with these heroes! We don't need him interfering!" to which Spider-Man replies "Awe Scorpion, that hurts, coming from a fellow arachnid. Was it something I said?" As he moves gracefully over to where Scorpion is at and shoots impact webbing from above, stunning Scorpion long enough for him to spin and weave a large web to render Scorpion ineffective in the fight. As he webs up Scorpion, he delivers a strong right hook to the side of Scorpion's face, knocking him out. Danny addresses Spider-Man, saying "It's good that you came when you did. They had us on the defense for some time, but now that you're here, we can definitely turn the tide." Spider-Man replies "I'm glad I could help. Let's beat these guys!" as all four of them group up together and dash towards Taskmaster and Crossbones, ready to end this fight quickly.
Meanwhile, in an abandoned HYDRA base underneath New York
Captain America starts inspecting the tunnelway that he has just entered, checking out every crack and crevice. There was a raid that happened here, Steve thought to himself as he scouts out the area. He knew he really shouldn't be here, considering how close he is to this situation, but he knew if anybody was going to have luck with this kind of situation, it would be him. As he goes down the long corridor, he suddenly sees bullet cases on the floor along with some patches of dried out blood. Whatever happened here, happened a great while back as he then thinks and hopes that he isn't too late to retrieve what he hopes is still here. As he progresses through the tunnelway, he sees disabled automated turrets, shredded from gunfire as he also sees more blood that leads into an open room that encompasses the rest of this base. He wonders what happened here as he wanders around aimlessly through the now empty research facility, hoping to find any clues. As he scours through the empty base he finds files, showing targets of assassination throughout history, including some that he has known when he lived before being in ice. As he goes through them all, one name has caught his eye that stands out above all others, "The Winter Soldier" as his eyes widen in horror from what he reads more of these missions and covert ops. After looking at the files, he inspects an area along the side of the empty base. There was something that was there before, something that only recently got moved as he investigated further. There was some kind of pod here, he thought to himself as he then realized where this pod might be and that there is no time left to lose!
Back in the alley, things seem to be going well, so far
Taskmaster is being kept on his toes as Spider-Man keeps changing his attacks just quick enough for him to not mimic his fighting style. Spider-Man says "Look Taskmaster, as much as I like fighting against ya, can we cut this short? I really have to be somewhere." To which Taskmaster replies "I couldn't agree more, Spider-Man." As he says this, Spider-Man's spider sense starts to tingle, turning his head to where his sense is telling him to look. He turns, seeing a 5'9" brown haired man, clad in black with goggles and a face mask. Spider-Man's eyes widen in surprise as he says aloud "I have a bad feeling about this." As this is said, The man takes out two pistols from his holsters, firing them upon the group, whether they be friend or foe. Luke Cage absorbs the incoming barrage as Crossbones gets behind cover and Taskmaster uses his shield to protect himself from the shower of bullets. As the bullets tear through the air, Spider-Man and Iron Fist dodge the bullets as the Punisher takes cover from the hail of bullets. As Iron Fist is dodging, he advances upon the foe, focusing his chi into his hand, forming into a fist and now radiating with his energy as he then jumps up high, making a straight jab at the man. As he flies through the air, fist aimed at the man, it is stopped abruptly as the man stops the attack with his left hand, pushing him back slightly, unraveling the gloves and some of the arm sleeve that was a part of his outfit from the impact. As the sleeve unravels, it shows a metal hand as he picks up Iron Fist with just his hand and throws him to the side. As the Iron Fist gets thrown to the side, hitting his back against the wall and falling onto the ground, the man then tears off the rest of his sleeve with his right hand, revealing his left arm completely made of metal with a red star on the shoulder of the metallic arm. As Spider-Man sees this, he then says "Oh yeah, this is definitely not good!" As his spider sense tingles harsher than before.
Well everyone, I hope you enjoyed this first chapter of the first step of Spidey's adventures. I do have more ideas in mind and I hope you all enjoy reading this as I continue writing the rest of this first arc of Peter/Spider-Man's life. I have a lot more plans with this fanfiction if this takes off!
