Chapter 1: Heading to the Unknown World

Afternoon

"It's finally over." Mickey said, feeling relived it was over.

"...No." Sora said, as he looking at the floor with sadness

"We'll find Kairi, let's head back to Master Yen Sid. We can figure it out." Riku reassured, hoping that they could find her.

"No, I know what to do." Sora said with a serious tone, while looking up at the sky and then looking at them.

"Sora..." Mickey said with a slight surprise.

"My whole journey began the day I lost her. And every time I find her... she slips away again. I thought we'd finally be together. But she's out there, alone. Not for one more second." He said, determined to find Kairi.

"We'll go to!" Donald said, determined to help Sora.

"That's right!" Goofy replied, he also want to help him.

"Thank you... Donald, Goofy." He smiled a bit from that response but he turns serious. "But this time, I have to go alone."

"Sora, listen. The power of waking isn't to go chase hearts around! Even if you do find Kairi, you might never come home to us again." Mickey said with a worried look on his face.

"I will. And we'll both be back. Before you know it." He reassured with a smile, confident that he'll return with his friend.

"Please..." Mickey begged, trying to reason with him. As the few seconds Riku steps in this scene.

"Let him go, Mickey." Riku said, as he puts his hand on Mickey's shoulder.

"Riku..." He said, looking at him with concerned.

"His heart and his mind are made up." He calmly said, understanding "Now, believe in him."

"Yeah... Safe journey, Sora." He reluctantly said, hoping he will be safe.

"Thank you." Sora said, as he turned away at them he summoned his keyblade, and aimed at the sky with a beam of light, the lock symbol appeared in the sky, he disappeared to nothingness.

[Kingdom Hearts Ost: Where am I]

Night

"Ughhh..." He groaned as he slowly opened his eyes and he lay on the cement.

"Where am I?" He questioned as he got up and looked around to examine the place.

He was standing in the middle of the street with few cars parked along the sidewalk and various buildings everywhere. It kinda reminded him of San Fronsokyo were he visited but it's different. It has a 1940s vibe around the city. There are a dozen people walking the sidewalk, ignoring the boy is laying on the floor.

"Hmm, I'm guessing this is were she's at?" He thought, looking at the ground for a moment with his hand on his chin. "Well maybe I could ask people they know about her."

"Well here goes nothing." He said, walking to the streets, hopefully if they saw Kairi.

[Kingdom Hearts Ost: Traverse Town Theme]

Bit Later

After Sora walked around the streets, trying to find his friend, he even asked people if they saw her, but the people gave the kid the response of "I don't know" or just simply ignored the kid. As it gets weirder by wandering around the town he sees human-animal, living giants, which gave him speechless, even though despite the fact that he already experienced weird things before so this isn't the first time.

"Nobody knows where Kairi is..." He sadly thought to himself, looking at the ground, as soon he continued walking he heard his stomach growling. "Huh I guess I've must've been exploring around the town without my appetite." Chuckled himself, putting his hand on his stomach with embarrassment.

He saw a small cafe and head there for something to eat.

"Welcome, sir." The Owner behind the counter greeted the young man. "Please, sit anywhere you'd like."

He examines the cafe, he sees three of them, there are two adults, a male and a female, and a teenage girl (Who is around his age), who was drinking a milkshake away from the adults.

"Thank you." He said, as he sat down on the bar stool, picking up the menu.

"What would you like sir?" Owner politely asked, cleaning the cup.

"Um, I would like an orange and a sandwich please." He answered, giving the menu to the owner.

"Alright then." He replied, readying the order.

As Sora waited for his meal, another male headed towards the younger female.

"Well, well, well... What have we here? What say I buy you a real drink, sister?" The man offered, who is using flirtatious accent. Which caught Sora attention.

Realizing this older man was trying to catch her attention, the girl looks back to him with an uninterested glare.

The man placed one hand on the girl's cheek, while the other had a firm grip on her thigh.

"What's this guy doing!?" Sora's thought, turning his head in the right direction with disgust. "He's putting his hand on her!"

"We've already got drinks, thanks." Very masculine voice came from her.

The guy was surprised to hear the voice coming from her and raised an questionable eyebrow, but he changed the subject and continued to play it off. "Uh... that's quite the deep voice you got there, little lady but it's cool."

Before he continues to flirt with her, Sora interrupts them by yanking his hand off her which surprises the man and young girl.

"What are you doing?!" Sora yelled, taking the girl behind him. "She just told you she's not interested, so back off!"

The girl was shocked at the boy's actions and wasn't expecting his arrival.

"Kid you don't know what you are dealing with." Man calmly said as he clenches his fist, while threatening the kid. "I'm part of the mafia, so I suggest you leave before things get worse for you."

"So what!" Sora said, giving the glare to him. "You think you can put your hand on women, well guess what i'm not gonna let that happen when i'm here!"

As soon the man going to gives the kid last chance, that's when the black creature came from the ground which shocked everyone except Sora.

"Oh hell no! I'm not gonna be eaten by those things!" Man yelled, fleeing away from the creature. Everyone else escapes while leaving Sora and the girl all alone.

"Don't worry, I got this." Sora said, turning his head at the girl, giving her a signature smirk, as the girl heads somewhere safe so that the brunette could handle those creatures.

[Kingdom Hearts II Ost: Twilight Town Combat]

[Information: Protect the girl from the Heartless]

"No matter where I go the heartless will be there." He thought, summoning his kingdom key, readying his battle stance. As the heartless started to jump on him, he quickly dodge it and started to slashing them with his keyblade, as few heartless started to disappear, he quickly finished them off with a strike raid, all creatures were gone.

[Music Stops]

"Well I guess that's done now." He said, dismissed his keyblade. "Are you okay?" He turns around and heads to the girl where she at, checking her if she's fine.

"Yes... i'm fine." She answered.

"Good. That guy was bad news. He's trying to do things to you. At least Heartless are gone." Sora smiled, rubbing his nose like he usually does.

"...Do I know you?" She asked innocently.

"Um no, we haven't met." He answered with confusion on his face, feeling wondering why is she asking that question, that's when he realized. "Wait a minute, you lost your memory?"

As she tried to speak but was interrupted by a masculine voice. "Beat it spikey kid this is our business." the girl grit her teeth and pulled down on her hat.

"...What was that?" He questioned, while looking around if someone is here.

"N-nothing!" She said, while waving her hands trying to prove that nobody was here.

"Ookay then." He said, who was slightly convinced. "Like I said before you lost your memory?"

The girl gave him a simple nod in response.

"Oh um, sorry." He said with sympathy about the girl lost her memory.

"It's fine, i'm trying to find out who I was before." She reassured him. "Only thing I found was my name, other than that nothing."

Sora felt bad for her that she lost her memories, just like another friend who suffers amnesia. Despite that he is new to this world, he will help out people if they need help or not.

"Kairi, if your here or somewhere... hang in there." He thought, then he spoke. "Well how about I can help?"

"R-really?" She said, a bit surprised.

"Yeah, maybe if we find someone knows who you are." He smiled, putting his hands on the behind his head. "And beside my friend once told me 'Sometimes memories just need a little help getting out.' "

"Thank you! Uh, I'm sorry, but what's your name?" She asked, with an adorable smile on her face from that response.

"I'm Sora." He answered. "And you are?"

"Sora..." She whispered, it felt like she knew the name but doesn't remember before, so she ignored it that it wasn't him. "Well it's nice to meet you Sora, i'm Filia." She sweetly replied.

"W-wait a minute Filia are you going to trust this kid that you met!?" Masculine voice yelled, which comes from Filia's hat, which caught Sora's attention to know where the voice coming from.

"He he sorry about that, but there's something I need to show you something." Filia said, feeling nervous. "Is it okay that we could go to somewhere that is private?"

"Um sure." He said, feeling confused by her response. As he follow her to the direction where she need to show something.

Filia lowered her hands, crossing one arm over the other to her forearm, she felt nervous that she going to show him her secret, but if he willing to help out, then she has gain to establish friendship. As they went to quiet place so that many people couldn't hear or see.

"Do you think we can trust this spiky kid?" He whispered, feeling concerned why she starting to trust him, out of all people that she already knew not to trust people lightly.

"Yeah it felt like I could trust him..." She replied, feeling unsure... as if something or someone is telling her what to do. After a few minute they headed to the alleyway so that it won't draw attention.

"Samson, you can take hat off now." She said, feeling ready to show him her secret.

"About damn time!" Voice exclaimed, Filia's hat began to move on it's own, drawing Sora attention.

Her hair launched the hat into the air, two eyes formed at the top of her head, with a sharp teeth. As the hat was coming down, the thing began to devour it a whole. While Sora just stare with no reaction.

"Well... now you know about my secret. Um Sora, this is Samson. Samson, this is Sora." She nervously said, preparing his reaction.

"...Hey, never seen a parasite before." Samson said, while waving the kid.

[JOURNAL UPDATE]

Sora: Chosen hero of the Keyblade and the one who defeated Master Xehanort. His search for Kairi has brought him to an unknown world. Will he find her?

Filia: The girl with a parasite in her head. She has no memories of who she was before. Can she find out who she was?

Samson: A parasite that's bonded to Filia. Despite his brash attitude, he is very protective of Filia.
