Gray Wing sighs as he sits curled up in the nest he was sitting in. His arms wrapped around his legs. After he tried getting Sparrow Fur from his brother, who refused to go, he wanted to escape everything. River Ripple took him in and kept an eye on him. He thinks that no one would worry about him.
"You are essential to everyone. You are the glue to the groups." River Ripple tells him one time. The Clear Sky doesn't understand, but his attitude has hurt his brother. Everyone in his group hasn't seen the hurt that Gray Wing has been in. River Ripple can see it and has a desire to help his young friend.
"Am I being selfish?" Gray Wing asks River Ripple one time. River Ripple takes the younger man into his arms.
"No." River Ripple tells him. Both men stay silent.
"Let me help with the hunt." Gray Wing states to the man that's taken him in.
"Will that help you?" River Ripple asks him. Gray Wing nods. Both men hunt, but Gray Wing's asthma catches up to him. River Ripple gets him to calm. Both men return, and Gray Wing leaves. When Gray Wing returns to Thunder and the group is thrilled to see him.
River Ripple sees the hurt in Gray Wing, but being with the people he loves helps heal him. The semi-loner knows that Gray Wing will have doubt and guilt, but he will move on. River Ripple had promised himself to look after the younger man. River Ripple can see how much love Gray Wing loves everyone but can't see the love everyone has for him.
