This is my contribuition for the Digiweek 2021 on Tumblr, Day 7 - Home. I enjoyed writing this one a lot, so there's a very high chance I make a better and longer version of it in the next few days. Hope you enjoy!

The apartment was really noisy that afternoon. The radio was on and there was some happiness screaming sometimes. Sora, Mimi and Hikari were about to get ready for a graduation ceremony. Sora was probably the most nervous girl among them, as it was her own graduation from high school, as well as Yamato and Taichi's. Each one of them had invited another Destined Children for the ceremony, so the eight teenagers were attending to the event later that day.

There was a lot of makeup stuff spread all over Mimi's bedroom. Sora looked at it astonished.
"Wow, Mimi! You have so many make up things! I kinda feel jealous because I only have basic make up."
"Me too."
"Most of them I got as birthday presents I believe." Mimi shrugged. "You two can pick whatever stuff you want from here. Some things I barely use anyway."
"Thank you." Hikari and Sora said at the same time.
"So, since we have only one mirror that we can use for doing our makeup, we have to take turns."
"Why don't we do each other's makeups?" Mimi suggested with a smile. She loved a challenge. "Like Sora does mine, Hikari does hers and I do hers."
"That sounds like fun!"
"I like that."
"Okay!" Mimi said excitedly. "Who wants to go first?"
They couldn't come to an agreement, so they decided for a little game. The first one to lose would be the first one to have their makeup done.
"I knew I would end up losing it." Sora complained. "I don't have any lucky in these games."
"So Hikari will do your makeup."
"Alright, but can you watch me?" She asked. "I don't really know how to blend colors and stuff like that."
"Sure." Mimi nodded. "The first thing you need to do is prepare her skin, so the makeup won't melt or fade with time."
"Okay."
"You can use this drop shaped sponge to help you spread it over her face."
Hikari did as she said and then kept following her instructions. For the eyeshadow, they chose a lavender tone that would match Sora's dress. The last thing Hikari had to do was apply some blush on her friend's cheek. When she was done, Sora opened her eyes and saw her reflection in the mirror.
"Oh my God, Hikari!" The red haired girl exclaimed. "This looks amazing! I loved it!"
"Really?" She asked happily. "All credits go to Mimi though. She's the one who told me how to do it."
"Yamato is gonna be amazed to see you." Mimi teased and winked. "I bet he won't be able to keep his eyes off you."
"Thanks, I guess." Sora replied quite embarrassed.

About an hour later, the three girls had their makeups done. There was only one hour left before the boys arrived to pick them up. Their dresses were hung in the upper doorknob of Mimi's closet and they were absolutely stunning. They had agreed to match and wear the exact same dress, but in different colors. Sora loved a red dress she saw, but since she and the girls also had agreed to go with light colors, she chose a baby blue one. Mimi's dress was light green and Hikari picked a light pink one. They all had a thin strap and a pair of elbow length gloves in the same color as the dress.
"You know, it's unfair that you two got to pick dresses as the same colors as your digivices and I couldn't." Sora protested rather playfully.
"It's not our fault yours is red and out of the color palette." Mimi stuck her tongue at her and laughed. "But your dress is blue, which is Yamato's digivice color. It will be a pleasant surprise for him, I guess."
"I think it's cute." Hikari confessed. "I would have picked yellow if I didn't love pink so much."
"Look at you two being so lovey-dovey over your boyfriends." The older brunette teased.
"Like you aren't." Sora teased back. "You were the one who actually a gray dress. You! You never wore that color in your life."
"Okay, okay. You won." Mimi admitted. "I did want a gray dress, but it's not like me. I love colors."
"Did Taichi find a date?" The bearer of Love asked Hikari. "I know he was trying to find one last week and he was starting to feel desperate because his first options either turned him down or were going with someone else. Yamato tried to help him, but he couldn't find any girl that would agree to go with him. I felt sad for him."
"I'm not really sure." Hikari replied. "I remember him telling me he found someone, but I know he sometimes lies so he would feel better about something and hide how he truly feels. I guess I'll just have to wait and see."
"In case he doesn't, let's make a deal." Mimi suggested. "We all try to cheer him up as much as we can. I know the three of us are dating, but we can still make this night unforgettable for him."
"I like that. I'm in!" Sora said.
"Me too, though it's kinda obvious." Hikari said smiling.

After the girls were already in their dresses and taking some pictures of each other and mirror selfies, they went to do their hairstyle. Mimi wanted to have hers a little curly, and Hikari was better suited for the job than Sora. The red haired girl simply tied two locks of her hair, one of each side of her face, in the back of her head with a hair clip and Hikari's hair was so straight no hairstyle would last on it, which made her a little sad.
"Don't be sad." Mimi placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled. "You still look stunning!"
"Mimi's right." Sora nodded. "Hairstyles don't mean anything."
Hikari smiled at them, but she knew they were just trying to cheer her up.
"We have only fifteen minutes before the boys arrive, so let's finish getting ready. Then we can take some more pictures with our full outfits on."
It took them about five minutes to get ready, so they had ten to enjoy each other's companies before they left. They all lined in front of the full length mirror in the same position and Mimi adjusted her cellphone in the perfect angle to take a great photo of them.
"Wow, it looks amazing!" Hikari exclaimed when the brunette showed them how it turned out.
"Don't we look like princesses?" Mimi said excitedly. "We're all so stunning and beautiful. We'll be the stars of this party!"
"We are really are!"
"Okay, the boys are here." Mimi informed as she quickly replied to Jou. "Should we invite them up?"
"I think we'll be late if we do." Sora replied. "Let's just go down instead."
"Okay."
They grabbed their last items and left to meet Yamato, Jou and Takeru.

The three boys were casually waiting for them in the street, dressed as fancy as they could be. All of them were wearing black pants, but different shirt and tie colors. Yamato was wearing a black shirt and a blue tie, not too light and not too dark. Jou went for the casual with a white shirt and a black tie, while Takeru wore a lavender shirt and purple tie. The girls whispered to each other and giggled in excitement when they saw their boyfriends. They, on the other hand, could barely hold their jaws in place when seeing how even more gorgeous they all looked.
"Wow." Yamato said in admiration as he looked Sora up and down. He couldn't help but grab her hand and spin her around.
"You like it?" She asked; her cheeks a lot more pink because of the blush.
"Are you kidding me? I loved it! You would win the prom queen title if you were competing for it."
"Nah, you know I don't really like being the center of the attention."
"It's kinda hard not to be looking that way." He smirked and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her against his body. "Lucky me that got to go to prom with the hottest girl from Odaiba."
Sora smiled and soon their lips met in a passionate and deep kiss.
Jou, opposed to Yamato, had a more discreet reaction. He would blush heavily before making a comment, even after years of dating Mimi. It was hard for her to get used to his way, but eventually she grew to love it. She didn't need a huge public display of affection.
"How do I look?" She asked him with a smile.
"Honestly, you look stunning. I love the color of your dress."
"Thank you. I'm not really into green, but it looked amazing in me. I'm not gonna lie."
"You and your ego that can be high sometimes." He said playfully.
"Hey!" She playfully complained between laughs and light slapped him in the arm.
"You look great." Hikari said as she stood by Takeru.
"Thanks, you do too." He looked at her. "Your makeup is perfect. Did you do yourself?"
"No, Mimi did. I thought it would look a bit too much, but I'm quite happy about it. I like how matching your shirt and tie are."
"Thank you."
"Takeru, stop being so slow." Yamato teased his brother. "Just kiss Hikari already."
"I'm sorry if I like to keep things private. I won't kiss her in front of you."
The rock star rolled his eyes. "Yet you used to flirt with other girls when I was around."
Sora slapped him in the arm. "Yamato!"
"Yeah, Takeru. Kiss her. It's prom! We're allowed to get out of our way tonight." Mimi joined the conversation. "Doesn't Hikari look absolutely gorgeous?"
"She does, but…"
Hikari grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him into her, pressing her lips against his. Before he knew it, he had his arms around her back and their kiss became slow and deeper. They only pulled away from each other when Yamato's voice echoed and they got into Jou's car to go to the ceremony. It was going to be an unforgettable night.
