Author's Note: I've been gone for almost a year. I apologize for not updating this story in a while. I'll make one thing clear though. I'm not giving up on this story yet.
Chapter 4: The Unknown
Max opened his eyes. Where am I? Everything was pitch black. Complete silence. There was no surface underneath him. I'M- FLOATING-
"Welcome Max," said a masculine voice.
"WHO SAID THAT?" Max looked around and saw nobody.
"You can call me anything you want. I have no name."
"UMM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO CALL YOU. WHERE AM I?"
"This is the center of the multiverse. Every single universe in the multiverse is connected to this place. My sole purpose is to help organisms reach their desired destinations. I have a unique power to teleport you to any universe Max."
Max began to calm down. His fast paced exhales and inhales slowed down. "Wow.." This is fucking crazy.
"Which universe would you like to travel to Max?"
"Uh, I'm not sure. What are my options?" Max scratched his head.
"Any universe."
"Uh, I don't know which universes exist in the multiverse. All I know is my universe."
"Any universe you can think of exists in the multiverse."
Max raised his eyebrow. "Anything?"
"Yes, anything."
"So there are universes with no humans?"
"Yes."
"Is Earth overrun by monkeys in one of the universes?"
"Yes, would you like to go there Max?"
"No, of course not. It probably smells like monkey shit there."
"Where would you like to go then?"
"I don't know. Wait.. But what if I get stuck in another universe forever?"
"Every single universe in the multiverse has a Multiverse Mirror. Find it, and then you'll be able to return back to your universe."
"Isn't it impossible to find ONE Multiverse Mirror in one colossal universe?"
"Max, I can teleport you to universes where it's easy to find the Multiverse Mirror. Finding the Multiverse Mirror in each universe will then be easy for you.
"Hmmm.. I honestly don't know which universe I want to go to. Take me to a random universe?"
"I cannot randomly teleport you to a universe Max. You must choose."
"Ugh.. Look, I honestly don't know which universe I want to go to. I'm still processing all this new information in my mind."
"Use your imagination Max. Anything you can think of exists in the multiverse. Now, where would you like to go?"
Use my imagination? Cmon Max, just think. I don't want to get eaten by sharks when I come back to my universe. JUST THINK!!! WAIT I THINK I KNOW. "Uh, I know where I want to go."
"Where would you like to go Max?"
"I want to go to-"
