"…who are you looking at?" Cana grinned as Lucy stared blankly out of their classroom window, her eyes trained on one very specific figure. She was currently in class with the brunette and two of their other friends during a self-study period, their desks all pushed together in a square.

"The new kid," Lucy sighed without paying much attention to what she was really saying. "I think I want him,"

"L-Lucy!" Erza blushed a dark red, Levy quickly slapping her hands over the blonde's lips. Cana roared with laughter at the thoughtless confession, the succubus entering a wide-eyed panic as she fully gathered her thoughts.

"Ah, it's always so fun to hear you when you're not paying attention," The oracle snickered as the pixie carefully pulling her hands away.

"When was the last time you ate, Lu-chan? It's not like you to space out so much," Levy asked with a worry-filled gaze.

"Loke gave me a kiss almost a month ago…it was enough to get me through midterms," She sighed, still staring outside at the class currently out on the field. "Fruits are starting to lose their effect too. I feel hungry more often than usual,"

"That's not good," Erza frowned, the heat in her cheeks still present as she spoke. "I want you to eat too, but as the student council president, I don't think I can allow you to attack anyone even f—"

"I'm not going to attack him!" Lucy whined, hiding the embarrassment evident on her face. "I just… he's just… it's his fault!"

"Oh, did he hit on you? Or did you see him shirtless? Ooo, does he smell good? C'mon, details!" Cana ebbed, grinning as the blonde shyly offered an explanation.

"He was fighting Gray, and I saw his horns come out," Lucy fwahed, drooling a bit as she thought back to the moment. "I know he's a dragon, and I just—he looks so powerful, I wanna tas—"

"I think we got it," Levy cleared her throat as she slapped another hand over Lucy's mouth.

"So his horns got to you?" Cana grinned as she leaned in closer. "Think they're as thick as his dick?"

"C-Cana!"

~000~

Lucy really couldn't get the new student out of her head.

He joined the school during the beginning of their spring semester and was placed in the classroom down the hall. A lot of girls thought he was cute at first, sexy even. But as they quickly found out, he was too loud and obnoxious, a hassle that seemed hellbent on challenging anyone and everything to a fight.

He apparently knew the ice devil, Gray, when he was younger and was related to Gajeel, Levy's boyfriend.

Even though he was close with some of Lucy's friends, she still didn't have much of a chance to approach him. She wasn't usually one to go out of her way and meet guys, especially when she was so... enamored. Lucy made it a goal to try and avoid men when her hunger was slipping.

And she especially wanted to avoid him.

It happened one day by chance; Lucy was finishing some paperwork in the student council room one day after school. As the treasurer, she had to finish approving some club budgets and ended up staying late.

"Take that, you slimy lizard!" She heard Gray's familiar voice shout from the courtyard as she began to leave the school.

"Oh yeah? Bring it on, ice for breath!" The new kid shouted back, the two of them scuffling in karate gi's nearby.

Lucy yelped when she saw him light up in flames, kicking the devil off of him and standing with a wickedly sinister grin. She could see his skin turn to scales and horns begin to sprout from underneath his strangely pink hair.

Her footsteps slowed at the sight of his wide back, breath suddenly shallow as her heart pumped wildly. A familiar feeling bubbled in the pit of her stomach, awakening the desire she'd long since suppressed.

He looked strong…and yikes, she had a thing for horns.

She'd seen horns before, what kind of kink was this?! Maybe it was just his horns, but god did she want to grab onto them and ride him like a—

Nope.

No.

She was not going to feed on him.

She couldn't! Even though he looked strong and she did wonder if his horns were as thick as his—

This wasn't going to happen. One hundred percent nope. It was an internal conflict she had when it came to accepting her true self. Eating another person's energy just to sustain her own life felt wrong and upsetting because anyone could die if she lost herself in the process.

"Juvia…" Lucy began with an excited voice, opening the door to greet her friend, only to have it falter into a light whisper as she was unpleasantly surprised.

The two planned to study together this evening as they had a test coming up. Luckily, both of their parents left town for the week, leaving them available for such a late event on a school night. It also provided an excuse for Juvia to come over and eat Lucy's cooking. But she wouldn't say anything about that.

"Juvia thought it would be fun to have others over for dinner too! Gray-sama and Natsu-san needed help studying too; Juvia hopes Lucy-san doesn't mind." Juvia said as the blonde moved aside to allow the three in.

"O-Oh, no, no problem. My pleasure," Lucy forced a smile and desperately her breath as the boy with pink hair walked past her.

"Thanks for having us over," Gray said as Lucy led them into her living room, the three taking a seat at her coffee table. "Gildarts said he'd give us remedial lessons for the rest of the year if we don't pass this next test,"

"You can count on me, English is my best subject," Lucy said, pulling Juvia with her as she made up a quick excuse. "I'll—we'll be right back, just going to check on dinner. I hope you like beef stew!"

"What's wrong, Lucy-san? Juvia thinks you're acting a bit strange…are you not feeling alright?" The siren asked as Lucy leaned against her kitchen counter in dramatic agony.

"Why did you have to bring him here…I can't deal with that guy!" She whined, clutching onto the blunette as she sobbed.

"Natsu-san? Does Lucy-san not like him?" Juvia asked as Lucy shook her head.

"I'm...crazy about him, if he gets too close to me, I really think I might jump him," She sighed, clutching her stomach as it began cramping with a delirious want. "I've been hungry for a while now, and he makes me feel even worse,"

"Eh?! Why wouldn't you tell Juvia something like that sooner?!" She gasped. "Juvia wouldn't have brought him in, maybe Juvia should ask him to leave."

"N-No, I think I can manage," Lucy chewed on her lip, rummaging through the fridge to pull out her stash of fresh berries. "It'll be rude if I make him leave all of a sudden...I want to help him if he's stuck on the homework, too."

"Alright, but tell Juvia if it gets to be too much and we'll leave,"

Juvia understood her struggle similarly since the two of them were both creatures who thrived by consuming lewd energy. The siren was lucky to have met Gray, a person powerful enough to keep up with her and provide his strength when she needed some.

They returned to the separate room where the two boys exchanged heated glares, the room began to clash between hot and cold temperatures as they stared at one another.

"What are—"

"Shush, staring eye contest! Loser has to go get dessert at the good convenient store down by the school." Gray hissed as he narrowed his gaze at the other boy who was steaming to win.

"As if I'm going to lose to you, ice tits!" The pink-haired boy grinned as he held a fierce stare. "Don't forget, I like their chili mango popsicles,"

"You're the one who better remember that I like their triple frozen chocolate shake sticks," He shot back, the girls already groaning at their immature behavior.

"This got old when it was just Gray and Gajeel," Lucy shook her head, flinching as their competitive egos raised to another level. Whenever he got serious it seemed as though on cue, the horns would sprout from his head.

"Gray-sama, we came here to study," Juvia whined, leaning against the table as she tried to steal his attention. It worked well enough, the devil weak to the pouty look of his girlfriend, cringing when the new kid whooped and jumped up with a grin.

"Darn it…"

"I win! Alright, get a move on, we'll wait for you while you get the good stuff," He grinned, motioning for Gray to leave.

"Fine…" He grumbled, snatching Juvia's hand as he made his way towards the door. "You made me lose so you're coming with me,"

"E-Eh?! Wait, Gray-sama, Juvia can't—"

Lucy blanched as the front door slammed closed, a shiver crawling up her spine as her fear sunk in.

"I'm Natsu! I don't think we've ever met," The boy grinned, his horns now gone and tucked under his hair.

"L-Lucy," She gulped and flashed a quick smile, avoiding his handshake as she sat down instead. "Do you want to get started before they come back? Dinner should be ready by then too,"

"You alright? You look kinda shaky." Natsu asked, frowning as she only answered with a rapid nod and the flipping of pages through her textbook.

"Hey, if I made you uncomfortable, I'm sorry. I'm not really used to makin' friends with girls," He said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck with a pained smile.

"O-Oh no! That's not it at all!" Lucy said quickly, feeling her heart thump as his smile twisted sweetly. "It's just me, I'm not feeling all that well."

"Really? You shouldn't be cooking and studyin' if ya feel sick," He pouted. "Sure you don't want to get some rest?"

"I-I'm okay, thank you,"

"If you say so," He chuckled in an attempt to steer the conversation in another direction. "So, English? Gray told me you were really good at it,"

"Yeah, it's my favorite subject," She smiled lightly, Natsu perking up with a wide grin.

"That's cool! My favorite is chemistry, are you any good at it?"

"I'm not half bad," She giggled, her attention quickly stolen by the clinking of a pot top in the kitchen. "Oh, excuse me,"

"Anything I can help with?" Natsu asked as he followed her into the other room. "My mom has me help out with cooking all the time. She says I'm the best stirrer in our house."

"Okay, go ahead," Lucy smiled as she handed him a spoon, avoiding any contact with his fingers. One touch and she was sure he'd send shivers down her back.

She took a moment to approach her fridge, opening it to pull out ingredients to make a side salad.

"Hey, where do you keep your salt? This is a little bla—"Lucy's shriek cut the dragon off, his surprise appearance right behind her scaring the wits out of her. They bumped into each other, Lucy subsequently falling on her behind while the contents she held spilled haphazardly.

"Crap, gosh, I'm so sorry, are you alright?" Natsu groaned as he reached down to help her up. Lucy's nose was buzzing with his up-close scent, her mentality scrambling to choose a side while he was vulnerable before her.

"Don't touch me!"

"Y-You really need to go!" Lucy gasped as she picked herself up from the floor, cringing as Natsu's face flashed a look of hurt. His hand that she'd slapped away hung loose in the air as she turned to run upstairs, tears pricked at the corner of her eyes.

"Yeah...okay…" Natsu said to himself, moving to clean up the small mess before returning to the living room to gather his things. The front door opened as he slid his bag back into his shoulder, Gray and Juvia looking at him curiously as he made his way past them without saying a word.

"Oh, no, Lucy-san…" Juvia frowned and rushed for the stairs. "Gray-sama, Juvia's sorry but could you leave too? Lucy-san must have pushed herself too hard,"

"Got it," He grumbled, knowing full well what the blonde was going through. "But I'm taking some of that food to go,"

Juvia ignored her boyfriend who prepared his leave as she ran up the stairs to console her starving friend.

"Lucy-san?" The siren felt her heart twinge at the sight of her bawling friend, her body shaking as she attempted to shake off the onslaught of her emotions.

"I-I-Is he go...gone…?" Lucy asked as she breathed out heavily, holding her stomach, one eye turning a bright purple.

"Yes, Juvia saw him leave, did anything happen?"

Lucy sobbed as her friend crouched by her side, holding her close to her chest as she wracked with tears.

"N-No, but I was so...so close to losing control…" She dry heaved, rejecting the heavy desire to shift personalities. "I just…I can't help myself when I'm around him,"

"Juvia understands…"

Lucy forced herself to skip the next couple of days at school, recuperating from her nearly experienced episode. The world probably wouldn't have ended like she assumed it would, but she still wasn't comfortable with the idea of needless sex.

Natsu didn't deserve to get dragged into her issues either, it was best to give them time apart before she did something she'd regret.

When she walked back onto campus, her friends immediately flocked by her side and staved away any unwanted character.

Strawberries were beginning to successfully settle her stomach and being away from other scents and the sight of Natsu helped calm her frazzled mind.

Their eyes met in the hall during lunch, her stomach twisting in knots as she looked away with a pained gaze. Her heart still beat and her cheeks still flushed with color, the little voice in the back of her mind begging to turn her attention back towards the strong dragon.

But she was thankful that the day was uneventful and that Juvia kept a special eye on her.

Putting away the dodgeballs after their physical education class at the end of the day, Lucy wiped the sweat from her brow and sighed with a soft smile. She should take breaks from school more often to clear her head and settle her stomach properly.

"Hey, Lucy?"

She froze at the sound of his voice, her skin running with a warm shudder, against efforts to keep herself suppressed.

"...What are you doing here?" Lucy gulped, turning around to frown unwittingly at his downward gaze. "Shouldn't you have left campus by now?"

"Do ya hafta be like that? I really don't know what I did to make ya so mad...I came to ask you about last night. Gray told me you were out here,"

"I'd really rather not talk about it," She turned herself away from him, holding her arm crossed over her chest. "Could you please leave? I have to finish cleaning up."

"You were real sweet before I tried to help you up, I don't get it and I don't think it's fair for ya not to tell me. I know that's kinda forward of me, but I don't want to leave you upset with me. So tell me what I did wrong and I'll fix it! I'm not all that good with girls, so I want to make it up to you, please,"

Natsu hastily stepped into the storage room, letting the door shut as he raised his voice. Lucy shrunk back and against the baseball bat cages, her unsteady gaze connecting with Natsu's desperate one.

"S-Stop it! Why can't you listen, just leave me alone!" Lucy yelped as he grabbed her wrist, her heart beating rapidly in her chest as his scent invaded her nose.

"I really can't, so please, Luce, tell me what I did wrong!"

If she were able to keep her focus, Lucy would have noticed the tears ready to stream from Natsu's eyes and the gold flecks that began replacing the deeper onyx shade. His strength and power wafted under her nose, Lucy quickly falling victim to the urges she could no longer hold back.

Natsu's strange attempt to find the truth was met with Lucy's shaking body, her knees weak and buckling as she suddenly lost her strength.

"O-Oi, shit, I screwed up again, didn't I? I'm not trying to scare you, I'm so sorry, Luce, are you alright?" He kneeled down to help her up, panicking as her temperature rose as well. "What—"

Lucy cut off the bumbling beast with an attack on his lips, her arms quickly coming around his neck to hold him close.

He was quick to melt and kiss back, matching her desperate fervor.

She mewled as he pulled her into his lap, maneuvering them so he was instead against the cages.

The room felt humid as Natsu's heat began to rise, their kisses becoming sloppy and deeper every passing second.

He groaned as she sucked his tongue into her mouth, Lucy's better instincts guiding her movements smoothly. She moaned as his hands fell to her hips, strong fingers kneading her ass gently in his grip.

She weaned from his lips for what felt like hours, their bodies panting and chins dripping with the small flow of drool.

Lucy pulled away first, her sobriety fading as she desired more of his flavor. She whimpered and clung to the dragon as he nuzzled his nose against her cheeks, too far gone to stop now.

"More…" Her purple eyes gazed up into the bright gold ones of her partner. "I need...more,"

Lucy woke up with a frightened gasp, her heart beating erratically as she looked rapidly around her.

It wasn't her room or the shed in the back of the school, but instead a bedroom that looked entirely too unfamiliar to her. Her eyes bulged out of her head as her eyes drifted downward, seeing that she was no longer in her uniform, but a t-shirt that was oversized and covered her like a dress.

She jumped as the door creaked open, the blonde pulling up the blanket to hide best she could.

"Oh, good," Natsu's bright eyes met her curious and confused ones, his hands carrying in a tray with tea, what looked to be soup, and some medicine. "I didn't know when ya were gonna wake up. I was about to call an ambulance,"

She inched away slightly as he lowered the tray on top of the bed, taking a couple of steps back himself. He gazed down at her with a half-smile, shoving his hands in his pockets as he cleared his throat.

"I know ya aren't very comfortable with me, sorry for being so forceful earlier," He nonchalantly kicked at his carpet, avoiding Lucy's eyes as she stared at him. "I didn't know you were so hungry either...I feel bad for kissin' you without your permission."

"You knew I was hungry?" She asked, nervously toying with the blanket ends as he nodded his head. "So you know that I'm…"

"Gray told me aboutcha when I asked. He said you don't like other people knowin', but my nose is pretty powerful. I could tell when I transferred here. I wanted to ask if you were alright, but my instincts got the better of me."

"I don't really remember what happened," Lucy frowned as she pulled the blanket further around herself, cringing as she let it sink in that she was no longer in her own clothes. "What happened? Where's—where's my uniform? What did we—what did I—"

"D-Don't worry!" Natsu quickly said as Lucy began to panic. "You were lookin' real sick and got all sweaty so I put your clothes in the wash; they're almost dry. And as far as what happened...we only kissed, I swear. Ya fell asleep on me and I woke up sometime after. I only brought you here cuz I wasn't sure if your parents were home or not. I didn't want to get you in trouble."

Lucy breathed in through her nose and out of her mouth, nodding as she calmly accepted the reality of their situation.

"...I didn't take too much from you...did I?" She asked, surprised as Natsu shook his head.

"Yoy barely got anything from me," He shrugged. "I'm pretty powerful, ya know? This ain't even how I really look! I'm about a million times bigger in my real form!"

"Thank...thank goodness…" Lucy said, unable to stop the production of her worried tears. She rubbed her eyes, hiccuping slightly as the stress of the last few weeks seemed to roll off her shoulders.

"Oi, oi, don't cry!" Natsu rushed to her side, panicking as her bottom lip trembled and various tears slid down her cheeks. "Did I do something wrong again? I'm so sorry, Lucy,"

She shook her head as he tried wiping some tears away with his thumb, the blonde sniffling through her confession.

"It's just that I...well I... there's a reason why I'm so hungry," She sighed, not minding Natsu as he held her face in attempts to keep the waterworks from continuing. "I can't control my other half so well, so I was always worried about eating...I didn't want to accidentally kill someone,"

"Aww geez, that sounds rough," He frowned, sitting back on his knees while Lucy tried her best to calm down. "O-Oh! Sorry, sorry, I got too close to ya again, didn't I?"

"I-It's okay!" She said quickly, grabbing his wrist as Natsu tried to hurry off the bed.

"You don't have to force yourself," He cleared his throat, the both of them blushing as Lucy pulled her hand away. "I don't want you to be around me if you don't wanna be,"

"I should apologize," Lucy smiled solemnly as she fiddled with the edges of the blanket. "I didn't yell at you because I hate you or that you make me uncomfortable,"

"Oh!" Natsu's face seemed to light up as she continued.

"It's that...that I thought you were…" Lucy's lips twisted and her heart began to beat at a rapid pace, her eyes locking with Natsu's as she confessed. "I think you're really cute and I was scared that I would do something to you! My strength wavers a lot when I see you…"

"O-Oh," Their cheeks settled with a vibrant cherry color, both looking at each other with curious and shy eyes. "W-Well...um—that's, that's really good to know, you know, cuz I...I think you're really cute too,"

"Thank...thank you for feeding me, by the way," Lucy mumbled as her eyes fell to her fiddling hands. "I haven't felt this good in a long time,"

"No problem," Natsu nodded, scratching the back of his neck as he fumed with embarrassment. "Y-Ya know, I don't mean to be too forward or anything, but if, if you're ever hungry again..."

He gulped as their eyes met again, the bat of her long eyelashes making him a bit dizzy.

"I...I wouldn't mind being there for you... I'm plenty strong so...uh, and I won't do anything you don't like, or um…" Lucy giggled a bit as he stumbled to find the right words. "I just wanna make sure you're alright. And if I can help you in any way, then I wanna help. Especially if you're makin' yerself sick."

"Is it okay if I take some time to think about it?" Lucy asked, smiling as Natsu quickly nodded in agreement.

"Y-Yeah, no worries! Please don't think you have to say yes either, I want us to be on good terms,"

Before either of them could say anything, the timer for the dryer went off, making the dragon flinch and almost fall off the bed.

"I'll––I'll go get that! I should be getting you home soon anyhow, it's already pretty late," The dragon cleared his throat as he stood up to retrieve her uniform.

Lucy anxiously twiddled her thumbs as she waited, hoping that the sound of her erratically beating heart wasn't too obvious. She split a secret smile after Natsu had left the room, feeling flattered and just all around giddy.

She wanted to call Levy right away to tell her that he seemed to have feelings for her too, maybe omitting his offer to feed her for the time being.

Lucy wanted to immediately say yes at that moment but didn't want to seem too eager. Although it wasn't one hundred percent definitive. She struggled with the thought of consumption for so long that it didn't seem okay to suddenly be on board with the idea. She just wasn't sure, especially considering how far things could go between them.

"Your bag is downstairs, so you can come down after you've finished changing," Natsu said as he set her clothes down, leaving the room just as fast as he'd entered it.

She was soon ready and heading towards the door, the dragon sat in front of it, lacing up his shoes.

"Ready?"

"Yeah," Lucy said, her hand tightly gripping the strap of her bag. Her stomach churned slightly as Natsu took hold of her hand, leading her out into the nippy night air.

He flashed a grin as he swiftly lifted her into his arms, wings popping out from his back and carrying them into the sky.

Lucy stifled a shriek and clung onto the dragon for dear life, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck.

"Why didn't you warn me?!" He cackled as she hid her face against his chest, trying to calm her ragged breathing.

"Well that's no fun, now is it! Yahoo!" His excited howl burst against the raging winds that slapped both their cheeks.

Her throat bubbled with slight amusement at Natsu's enthusiasm, the fear lifting slowly from her chest.

"It's just beautiful up here, ain't it?" The dragon asked as he slowed down a bit, gliding in the air. Lucy turned her eyes away from his softly spread smile, the sight of the night sky quickly replacing them.

The city lights danced below them, mixing and creating twinkling stars that mimicked those above them. Lucy traced her favorite constellations and laughed, hugging the dragon tighter.

"Oh, I adore it, thank you so much," He smiled at the sound of her breathless tone, gently gliding them down towards her neighborhood as it came into view.

He set her down in front of her door, Lucy embarrassed as she missed his warmth that held her.

"Safe and sound, hm? I'd never hurt ya," Natsu grinned as he took a step back from Lucy, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Thank you, Natsu," She swung slightly in her place, her hands tightening around the strap of her schoolbag. "I'll see you at school on Monday?"

"Yeah, I'll see ya," He cracked a small smile, both wavering slightly as they said their goodbyes.

"Or," Lucy said as Nastu turned on his heel to walk away. "Can I get your phone number? If that's okay,"

"Ah, yeah! I'd––I'd love for you to have it!" She giggled as he stuttered and stumbled to pull the device out of his pocket, the two sharing their numbers through infrared.

"I have enough to make dinner for two," Lucy said quickly before he could turn away again. "To say thanks? I really appreciate what you did for me today,"

"I'd like that a lot," Their smiles spread contagiously, both churning with the desire to spend just one more second together.
