I decided to enter this story into the APictureIsWorthAThousandWords Halloween2 Contest and ended up in a tie for the Newbie Award with another awesome writer. I'm so proud I decided to enter the contest and I hope you all will enjoy it too.

Fright and Delight
I hate Halloween!
It was Halloween night and my best friend Rosalie had convinced me to go to our local corn maze's Fright Night, with her and her boyfriend Emmett.
Since moving to Forks, I learned that Forks' corn maze was a major attraction, and an even bigger attraction was Fright Night. It was one night only and everyone, young and old, flocked to it.
"Rose, you and Emmett go in. I'll just wait here and get some hot chocolate or something." I said as we got closer to the front of the line.
"No Bella! I know you aren't one for all the scares, but I invited you because I want to have fun with you!"
"It's more of a couples' thing, you don't want me hanging around."
"Don't worry Bella, I can protect you as well." Emmett laughed while flexing his muscles, causing a small grin to grace my face.
"Emmett's right. He's big enough for the both of us to hide behind." Rose said as we finally reached the front of the line.
"Come in if you dare folks!" Said the scarecrow manning the rope at the front of the line as we handed over our tickets.
It was dark as we entered the maze and I found myself having to hold onto the back of Emmett's sweater until my eyes adjusted. You could hear screams, laughter and voices as we walked farther and farther in.
"Brains! I need brains!" Hollered a guy dressed as a zombie as he jumped out from the corn in front of Rose, who let out a scream.
Emmett started to laugh as he took Rose's hand and led her around the corner.
"Damn!" Rose swore as she hooked her arm around mine and pulled me in closer. "Stay by my side Bella."
We walked further along the maze, various other horror characters jumping out from behind the corn stalks and scaring us until we came to a fork in the maze.
"Do we go left or right?" Emmett asked.
"I vote left." Rose said as she let go of my arm.
We turned left and continued to walk down the maze for a few minutes before Emmett stopped us. "I don't know babe; I think we should have turned right."
"Okay then let's turn back."
It was then as we were walking back towards the fork that a group of screaming teenagers came running towards us, being chased by a demonic Santa Claus carrying a chainsaw that sounded and almost looked real. Rose and Emmett were able to get out of the way, but it was too late for me as a man dragging his date behind him, clothes-lined me in the throat, and sent me into the mud, my glasses flying off and landing somewhere amongst the corn.
"Shit, are you okay?" Asked a dark, blurry figure as they held out what I assumed was a hand.
"Yeah, I think so." I said as they helped me up. "I lost my glasses somewhere in here, my father would kill me if I broke another pair."
"Let me help you find them." A cellphone flashlight was then turned on and I could make out this kind stranger was male. "Here they are!"
"Thank you!" I exclaimed as he handed me my glasses that were thankfully still intact. "I'm horribly blind without them."
As I put my glasses back on and could finally see in the glow of the flashlight I was awestruck.
He was gorgeous, with copper-colored hair that stuck out at all ends like someone spent hours running their hands through it. His eyes were the color of emerald, shining like two pristine jewels and he was quite a bit taller than my five-foot stature.
"I'm Edward." He introduced himself with a crooked smile.
"Bella." I blushed as I readjusted my glasses and started to bite my lip. A nervous habit I'd had since I was a small child.
"Bella! Bella! Where are you!" I heard Rose calling.
"She's over here." Edward called. "She had a little accident."
"Oh my God! Are you okay?" Rose cried as she ran up to me, hugging me in the process. "You must be freezing, covered in all that mud. Come on, let's get out of here."
"I'm fine, Rose. Thanks again for your help Edward." I smiled.
"Anytime." He called as Rose took my arm again and we went off to find Emmett.
I couldn't keep the smile off my face the rest off the maze. I even laughed when someone dressed as a creepy clown came up next to Emmett and his reaction was to grab Rose and I and start running towards the exit.
"Well, that was fun!" Laughed Rose as we headed towards the hot chocolate stand.
"Yeah, I'm glad I came."
"I bet. I'd like to think it was because you got to hang out with me, but I think it's because of the cutie who helped you up."
"Bella met a guy?" Smirked Emmett. "In there?"
"He helped me when I got knocked down. It was nothing, I'll probably never see him again."
"Hey, there's my cousin." Emmett called out. "His family just moved here. Edward! Over here!"
I couldn't believe my eyes when I turned around and standing there next to Emmett was Edward from inside the maze.
"Guys, this is my cousin Edward. Edward, this is my girlfriend Rose and our friend, Bella."
"I'm glad I got to see you again Bella." Edward smiled, as he took my hand in his.
"Me too." I blushed again.
"Wow, you move fast Eddie!" Emmett laughed. "Let's go back to my place and watch some scary movies. Just so you know, Eddie, Bella is terrified of horror movies, so you'll have to sit really close to her!"
"Sounds great." Edward said as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me in close to his side.
And suddenly I loved Halloween!
