The war between the United states and Russia was coming to end with the Russians withdrawing their forces from Europe and a newly aligned peace treaty was settled amongst the two superpowers. Although nearly a quarter total of the US military was broken or crippled, Hunter 2-1 a squad of Army Rangers praised as heroes in preventing the bombing of the US capitol were earning a bit of Rest at Tokonosu Airport as they await their next assignment.
The 75th Rangers were assigned there by CENTCOM to provide training for the JSDF in the event that the Russians were to break the truce but a looming greater threat arises...
Outbreak Day 1
1530 Hours
In one of the aircraft Hangars Newly promoted Cpl James Ramirez is ontop an airport vehicle watching an English dubbed fantasy anime on his phone, Sgt Dunn on the other hand was cleaning his Scar-H with thermal scope. The rest of the squad were rookies and the two of them including the newly promoted Staff Sergeant Foley are the only vets experienced in combat against the russians.
"Hey James do you think these guys will last a second?" Dunn said while pointing at a group of rookies practicing their aim with their unloaded rifles.
"If they were with us at DC, Not even a second and they're Rangers? Oh please" James said in a sarcastic tone.
"True that bro but they're the best the good o'l USA has to offer" Dunn remarked but their chat was interrupted as the PA announced the members of Hunter 2-1 to head towards the Briefing room. The atmosphere was tense as 1st Lieutenant Foley and the regiment commander- General John Morshower stood in front with a projector detailing their briefing.
"Tokonosu city is being overrun and we're instructed to head towards a school at the southeast of central called Fujimi Academy according to local reports there are at least a hundred students, we're ordered to evacuate any survivors." Foley said gesturing at the projector showing burning cars,buildings but most of all gruesome pictures of people being eaten or bit.
"Just when i thought the war was over huh? Now we got cannibals" Dunn said gesturing at Ramirez.
"That takes the piss out of being Ranger don't it?" Ramirez said causing Dunn to scoff a bit.
"Heard that one before, dude" Dunn said, focusing back on the briefing showing the layout of the School building with detailed floor plans showing their entry and exit.
"you are going to fast rope in on the roof and move inside through the stairwell into the hallways to find anyone that is alive. Then you are to exfil using any vehicles in the vicinity because our birds are limited at this time helping the JSDF and taking the refugees here." the Colonel said pointing at their designated entry point and exfil.
"We get in and save those kids. Kill anyone that is hostile, hooah?" Foley said and the entire room responded back proudly.
Half an hour later.
1600 Hours
The Carnage was all too great as the 6-man Ranger squad in the blackhawk saw how in a few hours the city has broken down and shot to hell. Burning Buildings,Cars and the distant screams of people fleeing for their lives or being overrun by the dead. it was an all too common sight for the experienced Rangers Dunn,Ramirez and Foley as this reminded them of what happened back home when the Russians attacked.
The school rooftop was infested with those things and they could see a stairwell and massive mounts of furniture form a barricade blocking the dead from going across, there were thousands of corpses of both staff and students littered around the school. The noise of the Blackhawk likely attracted the undead as the door gunners began firing some rounds from the minigun on the undead students ripping them through like cutting the grass.
"Jesus all this in a few hours." Dunn said to Ramirez, who sadly looked on.
"Hey Sarge! I see some survivors! Two of em on the other side of that Barricade!" a young Ranger called out pointing at the two Highschoolers waving at them, One was boy with spiky black hair holding a baseball bat and the other was a girl with long orange brown hair along with a small ponytail on the back of her head.
"Take us down!" Foley said to the Pilot as they drop the fastropes over their positions and in a matter of a few seconds the entire Ranger squad roped down to the two and began securing a perimeter. The blackhawk then turned away as Foley starts to question the two about the situation in the school.
"Tanaka! Get over here!" Foley said gesturing to a Ranger who goes up beside him.
"Ask them if there are any other survivors here" Foley said to Pvt Tanaka but as he was about to translate the boy spoke up in fluent english.
"There were three of us here but he turned and we had to put him down, I don't know about anyone else." Takashi told him much to the shock of the rest of the squad.
"Does she speak english too?" Foley said, pointing at Rei of which Takashi answered.
"Yeah she does, English is part of the lessons we learn here. I'm takashi and she's Rei."
"Dunn! You take care of these two while we move in." Foley said much to the annoyance of Sgt Dunn.
"You two stay on my ass, don't stop for anything." Dunn said as the squad began making their way inside of the school.
Foley,Ramirez and the young Ranger from earlier were at the front checking the hallways or classrooms for survivors and any of the dead. Ramirez was armed with a suppressed Scar-H with holographic site and M203 Grenade Launcher, he made short work of a couple of stragglers in the hallway feeding amongst the mangled bloody bodies of the students and staff.
Foley then signalled for the rest of the squad to move forward in diamond formation with Rei and Takashi sticking next to Dunn. Suddenly they were ordered to hold as they could hear a commotion from the hallway next to them, judging from the sounds its likely from a pair of survivors.
"Ramirez,Kyle take point and see whats going on." Foley gestured at the two with their weapons drawn began to look over. Ramirez saw a group of Undead seems to be swarming a group of students, One was a boy wearing the same uniform as Takashi with glasses over a crazed expression spread across his face armed with a makeshift nail gun and the other was a girl of which she wore the same Uniform as Rei also wearing glasses but she had long pink twintails on each side of her body, two others were there a student and teacher. The student was a girl and she had long purple hair armed with a wooden stick used for kendo, the teacher had blonde hair but she had a clueless look as if she had no idea what was going on.
The boy knocked some of them down with the nails from his makeshift gun but soon it began to Jam and one of the dead began creeping its way towards the girl.A horrified look was spread across the pink-haired girl's face as her back was turned towards a trophy case, suddenly the Zombie creeping towards her was knocked down silently by a bullet fired from Ramirez. The blood from the Zombie was now spread across her uniform and parts of her face but she was safe luckily.
The two Rangers aim steadily at the Zombies swarming them as one by one they fell and until they were all down, the squad began moving up to greet the new survivors.
"Clear over here Staff Sarge." Ramirez said aiming his SCAR further down the hall alongside Spc Kyle.
"Everyone alright?" Takashi asked them in Japanese.
"Who are these guys Komuro?" Saya asked, gesturing at the Tough looking soldiers who glanced back at them.
"Judging from the patches on their Uniforms and that flag on their shoulders, They're Americans." Saeko said.
Hirano's eyes lit up as he saw Dunn's SCAR-H with a thermal Scope of which he then began to speak in english.
"Hey! That's a SCAR-Heavy mark-17 with a thermal Scope one of the most famous Battle rifles in the world! Its military-grade!" Hirano said, coming a bit too close for Dunn's comfort.
"Hey dude, keep back would ya? Getting a bit too close for Comfort besides we are the military." Dunn said pushing him back a little.
"Can i hold it?"
"Are you fucking crazy? I ain't gonna let some civvy hold my primary."
"Then how about your sidearm? That's an M9 Beretta" Hirano said pointing towards it.
"Is this a guy a fucking nutjob or is it just me?" Dunn said glancing at the rest of his squad. Foley gestured at them to stay quiet and then looked back towards the group of highschoolers expectantly looking at them.
"Alright i'm assuming everyone here speaks english yeah?" Foley asked the group to which they all Nodded in agreement except for Saya. Ramirez began to notice that Saya was visibly shaken at what happened, Saeko then comforted her which seems to calm her down a bit.
As the Ranger squad and Survivors journey their way in the hallway on the third floor of the school, they found more gruesome evidence of what happened earlier. One of the corpses had its intestines torn out spread out across the floor, another was dragged and badly mangled with bites across from the upper body to its thighs. Blood were spread all over the floors and walls including the lockers,windows or Doors its likely that the students were panicking as the incident occured.
"I thought i've seen it all but this.. This is too much." Dunn said glancing at the corpse.
"We still got a job to do, Dunn keep moving." Ramirez said tapping a hand on his comrades shoulder before moving with the formation.
"Hold…" Foley said signalling the squad to stop. "Door way" Foley gestured at the opened door staffroom, the squad stacked up and moved in checking the corners of the room until the all clear was given.
"Clear" Dunn said as he finished scanning the room gesturing to the Survivors to get inside while a pair of Rangers kept watch on the Hallway. The staff room was spacious for at least 20 people, the Rangers breathed a sigh of relief as they managed to find a safe place to recover and plan their next move.
"Overlord, this is Hunter 2-1 we managed to Recover at least 7 survivors awaiting further orders over." Foley said on his Radio.
"Overlord Copies all, sweep for more survivors if you can and drop them at LZ Bravo located at Takagi manor at least 20 clicks from your position. Friendly forces will be there to greet you over and out." Overlord said on the Radio and suddenly Saya's eyes lit up at the word "Takagi".
"Safe zone? Why the hell does it have to be at my house?! I demand an Explanation!" Saya said as she went up to Staff Sgt Foley.
"We don't know why Miss, But i suggest you calm down and let us do our Job." Dunn said as he put a hand on her shoulder which made her somewhat Uneasy.
"Ma'am we are going to do everything in our power to have you and your friends to Safety, we guarantee it." Foley Said and she soon backs off returning to her Highschool friends, the Rangers began planning their way out.
"Hey Staff Sarge, looks like a bus in the parking lot. I think its still operational" A Ranger wielding an M249 SAW said as he pointed through the window to the parking lot. The parking lot was infested with Zombies and its likely that they have to go loud in order to clear the way for everyone.
"Good eyes Parker, Alright team huddle up." Foley said as the Rangers gather around the table at the front of the room. Foley asked Takashi to come over and soon used a marker from one of the boards to draw up the layout of the parking lot.
"Alright Ramirez,Dunn you two are gonna move up and clear a path towards the Bus but keep the Dead off our backs. Rest of us are gonna move up with the Civvies, Parker you cover the Rear while Kyle and I are on front Security. We move in fast and Hard Hooah?" Foley said and the Rangers responded by saying Hooah then Foley's attention began to turn towards the group of survivors.
"Do any of you know how to drive? We're gonna need a quick getaway." Foley asked the group and then Miss Shizuka raised her hand up with a smile spread across her face.
"I can! I got my license!" Shizuka said as she Jumped up proudly causing her rack to jiggle and bounce a bit causing Sgt Ramirez to have a nosebleed underneath his Face Mask. Dunn chuckled a bit as he noticed his comrade staring a bit before finally snapping out of it.
"Glad you're in Japan huh james?" Dunn said much to Ramirez's annoyance.
"Shut the fuck up Dunn, now ain't even a good time." Ramirez said as he brandished his weapon and the Squad begins to stack up at the doorway.
