When Spider Man Encountered Omni-Man

Today was a relatively normal day in the city of New York, people were living their best lives and all was very well. Crime rates were low and just about every citizen residing in New York had the heroic web-slinging superhero Spider-Man to thank for, especially after he'd fought the likes of Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and many other villains.

But underneath the mask, Spider-Man was more than just a superhero, he was a usually ordinary person like everyone else. His name was Peter, Peter Parker, and he'd gotten his powers during a school field-trip when a radioactive spider bit him.

Ever since that day, since the tragic loss of his Uncle Ben Parker, Peter had been using his spider-like powers to face bad guys and protect the innocent to ensure that nobody had to deal with an Uncle Ben scenario like Peter had to deal with. Little did the wall-crawling superhuman know what this day had in store for him, it would be a day when universes collided.

Dressed in his Spider-Man outfit, Peter swung through the city as he flicked his wrist and web-lines shot out of his wrists as he went. Whenever he did the web-swinging, it was like swinging on vines made of webs in a jungle full of buildings and people.

On the ground below, observing citizens brought out their cameras and I-phones to take photos of their city's hero to share on social media, happy to see Spider-Man just like every day.

Peter paid little attention to what the citizens were doing, he focused on web-slinging and looking out for any bad guys to take care of. Just then, his ever-useful spider-senses went off and the intrepid yet nerdy superhero was on alert for nearby threats. Despite his powers, he never saw what was coming his way...

KA-WHAM! Something heavy struck Peter like an incoming train, ramming into him with just about enough force to daze him. The web-slinger's mind reeled, what was going on?

Initially, the attacker was a blur and Peter could hardly see who it was. He felt himself flying through the air, unable to move his arms. He crashed through the side of a building and impacted with a pillar, Peter slumped and sat there for a while until he regained most of his senses.

Still reeling with dizziness, Peter cautiously looked up and saw a towering, muscular figure floating with a cape flapping behind him. One good look at his face and Peter was shocked...

"M-Mr. Jameson?" The science-minded hero coughed.

Clad in a pink-red n' white outfit with an O-symbol on the front while sporting dark hair with patches of white, blue eyes and a face with a handlebar mustache, the man whom Peter assumed was Mr. Jameson looked down at the web-slinger with a cold look. There was something strange going on, since when was Daily Bugle chief J. Jonah Jameson secretly a superhero-like being?

The Jameson-like man gave Peter a cold growl and grabbed him by the scruff of his outfit before slamming him into a wall, Peter groaned and flicked a web into the man's face. Blinded for a brief period, the man tore off the webbing and chucked Peter through a window.

'There's something up with Jonah.' Peter thought, "It's almost as if he hit his head and fell into a pit full of bizarre chemicals that gave him Superman-like powers or something.

It was at this point the web-head started to assume just that; Mr. Jameson had fallen into a pit of strange chemicals that gave him superpowers and influenced the chief of the Daily Bugle into going after Spider-Man. It made sense; Jameson was being influenced by super-ooze that was also bringing out his secret desire to humiliate Spider-Man.

Peter could see it now, he had to find a way to beat Jameson and break the spell on him. He shook his head, shaking off the dizziness and ready to fight this wacked out version of Jonah.

He turned his body around and flicked his wrist, shooting out a line of webbing that latched onto a building. He swung from it and flipped around before making his way to the roof of an apartment building, Peter turned to see the super powered Jameson rocketing towards him.

Breathing slowly, the amazing Spider-Man leaped into the air and his insanely strong nemesis flew under his feet. Thinking quickly just as his feet touched the ground, Peter flicked his wrists and web-tagged "Super Jonah". He grasped his webs with all of his strength and maintained his grip upon his foe, "Jameson" tried to break free, but Peter held on longer and tightened his grip.

Then, with just enough strength in his veins, the youthful hero swung his body and sent his foe flying into a water tower on a nearby roof, causing the tower to crash down and water sprayed everywhere onto the rooftops.

"Ok, Mr. Jameson!" Peter yelled, "You better have a good explanation!"

"The only explanation here is that looks can be very deceiving."

"Huh?"

Water splashed and the Jameson-looking superhuman got back up, he faced the Spider-Man with a fierce-look on his face and flew towards him at full speed. Peter barely had time to move before the insanely strong mustached powerhouse rammed into him, lifting Peter off his feet. Peter struggled to break free, he punched "Jameson" in the face, trying to stun him.

"Do you think you can stand a chance against me, Spider-Man?" Super-Jameson asked, "You're not even from my race and dimension, no other being can stand a chance against me."

'Ugh, ok then.' Peter thought, 'At this point, Mr. Jameson has gone mad.' He ushered all of his might and broke free from his foe's grip, punched him in the torso and quickly flicked some very thick webs right into "Jameson's" face. With his enemy blinded temporarily, Peter let loose another line of webbing and started web-swinging through New York's skyline like mad.

Suddenly, a large mass rammed Peter in the back, almost completely shattering him out of full consciousness. He knew that "Super-Jameson" wasn't done yet apparently, the man had torn off the webs from his face and was still as determined than ever before.

BAM! Peter felt himself flying through the air and smashed into a rooftop, dazed and nearly weakened. Luckily for him, Peter's bones were still holding together even after the impact.

Peter was about to get back up when "Super Jameson" descended and pinned him down, standing over him in an intimidating manner. The black-haired super human then proceeded to punch him, his flying fists bruising Peter's face until he felt a sense of dizziness.

'Beaten by Jameson.' Peter thought, 'Of course, it's like fighting Superman.'

"Super Jameson" stopped punching and dropped to a knee, looking at Peter curiously as if he wanted him to get back up. Then he reached over and pulled off the Spider-Man mask, revealing the face of Peter Parker. Peter looked at "Jameson" with confusion, it felt like he was dealing with someone who shared Jameson's face but wasn't actually him. Was this really Jameson?

"You almost remind me of my son, Mark." The mustached man said, "However, while you two look alike, you're not him. But at least you're still as strong as him, Spider-Man."

Peter grunted, "What's gotten into you, Mr. Jameson? How do I look like John and since when was his name 'Mark'?"

"'Jameson?'" The Jameson-look-alike chuckled, "My name is Nolan Grayson, but most fellas know me as Omni-Man, I'm not that Jameson guy. Oh, for the love of... THINK, PARKER, THINK! Has nobody heard of 'Invincible'? Does that ring any bells for you now...?"

Hearing Omni-Man speak about 'Invincible' made Peter's mind scramble for a while as he thought long and hard, then it clicked in his head.

"Now I remember..." Peter remarked, "You're from that over-the-top violent and gritty superhero comic about a strong and invincible superhero teen who has an alien dad. Aw, shit. My world just collided with the world of Invincible where Mr. Jameson is a Superman-like dude with a different name, the multiverse just went wonky. Just damn perfect... AH!"

Omni-Man started rapid-punching Peter, his fists bruising his face and causing another bout of dizziness to the web-head. Then he stopped and said, "About time ya caught on, Spidey?"

"Can you please leave me alone now?" Peter groaned, he reached for his mask and put it back on his soon-to-be fully bruised face, "I don't have all day to deal with someone like you and there's other things to do, taking down small-time crooks and having dinner with MJ."

Hearing Peter's request to not be bothered made Omni-Man smile calmly and he extended his hand, helping the web-slinger to get back on his feet. "Of course, Peter." Omni-Man said, "Besides, I didn't mean to cause a calamity since I was curious about your strength. Now, I have to leave before that Jameson guy finds out about me and before my family starts to worry."

Peter and Omni-Man shook hands and the super Jameson-look alike gave the web-slinging superhuman a nod before taking to the skies, Peter watched until Omni-Man was gone until dived off the roof before web-swinging through the New York city skyline.

Today had been a very strange day with multiverse-shenanigans involved, but at least Peter would live to fight bad guys and see his dream girl another day. As long as he didn't run into any beings just like Omni-Man again, all would be fine for now. While he swung across the city, Peter began to think of how he would tell the real Jameson about his encounter with Omni-Man.

The End
