Sharp yellow eyes followed the other figure in the room, as it frantically paced around strewing papers and equipment everywhere. Lilith had been sitting in the infirmary of the Sanctuary III for a while now, as Tannis patched her up from her not so nice first encounter with the self proclaimed God Queen Tyreen and her brother.

Apparently the bitch did not only deprived her from her powers, but also during the fight she also damaged her arm pretty badly. A dislocated shoulder the scientist had said.

Initially she had dismissed everything, she did have a duty as commander to respect, and couldn't allow weakness to show in front of others, especially in front of their newcomers, which she was more than grateful they saved her life. However Tannis had asked, no, demanded that she'd immediately head over to her infirmary so she could have a proper look at the damage that was done.

Whatever calmed her down, Lilith thought. Only that instead it had the complete opposite effect on the cryptic woman, it sent her in even more distress than she'd ever seen her.

The other woman had looked over at her entire self, with the former Firehawk feeling rather nude and weak under her meticulous green eyes and her Siren powers, she could see the blue markings poking out from under the red coat at times, she was one of the few people Tannis could allow herself to lower her guard when it came to hiding her special abilities.

She had patched and fixed her now bare arm, gently wrapping it up and placing it into a makeshift sling for the time being, all the way while mumbling to herself.

Which led to this whole walking and pacing around for whatever reason Lilith was unaware of, she only knew that it was starting to annoy the hell out of her.

"Tannis, would you stop for a moment?" that startled the other woman for a moment, but got her attention at least, better than her carving holes with her shoes in the floor with how much she walked.

"What's wrong?" she asked, direct, she didn't like circling around things.

The other woman frowned at her. "There's absolutely nothing wrong Lilith."

Yellow eyes rolled. "Could have fooled me."

"Is this a poor attempt at humor? I'm afraid I do not understand it."

Lilith could tell the other woman was trying, and failing to get her distracted and forget the question by changing topic.

"Listen, you've been walking around and talking to yourself ever since I got here and you patched me up, I think that if there's something wrong I deserve to know it."

She could see Tannis shuffling around, not wanting to talk, even trying to find a way to run, even though the door was open, however the lab was her place, if nothing then Lilith was the wrong person here.

"Please tell me, I can't help you if you won't talk." she pushed one last time.

Tannis looked away. "It's a dumb thing."

"It can't be that dumb if it got you worked up that way, so what's the matter? Is it my arm? Is it that bad?" she asked.

"No, your arm will be fine with the proper treatment, it will heal just fine, do not worry about it." still she sounded nervous when she said it.

"Is the lack of my tattoos that bad of a sight to see?" to think that when she was a kid she wanted nothing more to get rid of them, now she just wanted them back again.

"It is quite the jarring sight to see such a fierce warrior as yourself being stripped of their strength so easily."

Oh so that's what it was, it wasn't because she wouldn't heal, it was because she got hurt in the first place. Now things clicked, Tannis was afraid she'd die…

"Tannis, listen, I will be fine, the Vault Hunters will help me get what's mine back, that bitch won't win. Besides I'm far from powerless, I have still got my guns, I can still shoot." she said with all the confidence she could muster, in truth she didn't know if things would go well at all, but she didn't want to make her friend worry even more.

"You sound awfully confident, then I shall try my best to make myself as useful as I can be."

And here was the other thing, even though the other woman wouldn't admit it, Lilith very well knew she feared to be abandoned and alone again, they had taken her in for protection, not because she was useful and knowledgeable, that had just been a welcomed bonus.

"You think that's why we keep you here? Tannis you're a friend, and no one will leave you behind, even if something were to happen to me."

Lilith got up from her seat and approached her, looking at her before laying a hand on her shoulder when she was sure she wasn't going to escape nor feel sick from the contact.

"I'm going nowhere, okay?"

At least… not for the time being.
