RESIDENT EVIL X THE PROMISE NEVERLAND CROSSOVER
"I can wait promise. So just leave us here"
Those were the last words Phil ever said to Emma, Don and Gilda before they escaped from the orphanage, after they set it up on fire and left with the other group of kids that were 6 years old and up to avoid being harvested. Phil knew the other kids manages to escape when momma came back and told him that they all managed to escape to safety.
After that night Phil and the rest of the children were all separated, and sent to different orphanages. It has been a year and a half since that night. Phil has spent time at the new orphanage getting to know some of the other kids he never met before. The caretaker who currently taking care of him and all of the other children who call her "mom" is a tall women who has brown shoulder length hair, red eyes, and pale skin. Even though Phil calls his new caretaker 'mom' whenever he speaks to her, but in his mind he will only address her as the caretaker knowing what her true actions are in raising all the kids.
Phil has done a lot to distract himself over time like playing games with the other kids or reading some books from the library, while silently waiting for the day Emma and the others will come back to save him along with all the other children. It was good at first knowing that there were no kids being 'adopted' since the other kids escaped, but not all things last forever.
The harvesting has started again 8 months after Phil was transported to the new orphanage. The first one to go was a boy named Dylan who was 8 years old. Phil didn't know him that much, but he did enjoy playing tag with him along with the other kids. When Phil found out that Dylan was being harvest, Phil felt very surprised but also very sad that another kid was going to be adopted, and they will never know that once they get adopted, that would be the last time anyone would ever see them alive. Watching Dylan say his final goodbyes and leave with the caretaker was hard to watch, and Phil became sad for the next few days after that.
The second kid to be shipped off was a girl named Alex. Alex was a 11 year old girl with very short black hair with a slight tan skin standing at 4'10ft. Alex became very nice to Phil from the moment he was introduced to the other kids when he arrived at the second orphanage. While Phil was hesitant to make friends with any of the other older kids, because he knew any one of them would eventually be adopted, Phil warmed up to Alex very quickly. Alex reminded Phil of Emma in a way so that's why he gotten attached quickly. Phil learned very quickly that Alex has huge interest for reading books. So whenever both of them would go to the library to read, Alex would be there to help try to improve his reading or read books to him general which Phil seems to enjoy very much. It would be around the first year since Phil been here that it was announced by the new caretaker that Alex would be adopted.
(Flashback)
Alex and Phil were playing outside with some of the other kids having a great time and laughing Then that's when the caretaker came out and called the other kids to come to her.
"Kids I have special news to announce, Alex can you please come forward and turn to face the others." The caretaker says with a smile on her face. Alex goes up front and does what she
"Alex here is going to be adopted by a nice wonderful family" The kids all around them began to smile and cheer for Alex. Alex makes a surprised expression before smiling and screaming in excitement.
"Phil isn't it great I'm finally going to be adopted!" Alex excitedly said with a bright smile on her face.
Phil eyes started to water as he slowly forced a smile on his face. "That is great Alex, I am happy for you."
Alex continues to smile and quickly goes to Phil to wrap her arms around his small body to give him a hug. Phil slowly puts his arms up to wrap them around Alex neck and just looks up at the sky while continuing to hug. A black raven flies high in the air and Phil couldn't help but stare at it, watching it fly away into the distance.
Phil buries his face in Alex neck while continuing to hug her. In his mind Phil can only say "I'm sorry" and tears slowly start to fall down his face.
(End of Flashback)
On the day Alex was going to be adopted, Phil spent the whole day with Alex doing all kinds of activities that involve playing all kinds of games ranging from board games to playing outside. Phil favorite thing to do with Alex was to have her read him a book to him whether it would be in the library or in the bedroom on one of the beds.
Before Alex was getting ready to leave she gave him a necklace she made for him so he can remember her once she was gone. The necklace Phil was given has a black leather cord with a metal wolf attached to it.
Soon it was time for Alex to leave so once she gotten ready and came down with her suitcase she told everyone goodbye individually including phil. As Alex was about to walk out the door with the caretaker, Phil ran over to Alex tackling her into a hug. This caused Alex to stumble back making her drop her suitcase to fall down to the ground and stare at Phil who was hugging her around her waist.
"I..I..I don't want you to leave" Phil said while tears were coming down face as he tightens his grip around Alex not wanting to let go. Alex gives a small smile and gives him a hug while rubbing his back with her right hand.
"I know Phil…" Alex pulls away and brings Phil head up to so he can look at her. Alex grabs one of Phil's hands and grips it tightly while staring into Phil blue watery eyes.
"I know"
Phil eyes widen as he can feel the grip of his hand from where Alex is holding tighten even more and can even feel it shake trying not to let go.
"A…Alex?"
Alex gives a sad smile and gives Phil one more hug before letting go and getting up and grabbing her suitcase. Phil gets up quickly after her and continues to stare at her.
"Phil can you make me a promise?" Alex said as she puts out her pinky finger.
"Yes Alex?" Phil puts out his pinky finger.
Alex wraps her pinky finger around Phil tiny pinky and twists it.
"Promise me…promise me that you won't forget about me.. ok?"
Phil nods as another tear runs down his face "I promise Alex"
The caretaker comes towards Alex and kneels down to her. "Its time to go Alex, we don't want to be late don't we." Alex nods and pulls her finger away from Phil and makes her way to the door. She turns towards Phil with a blank expression then she closes her eyes. She opens them back up quickly to give Phil one last smile than leaves with the caretaker. All of the other kids think she giving one last happy smile to everyone before going to see her new family, but in Phil head he knew that she may look happy but her eyes are telling a different story.
Phil spent that night crying into his pillow while laying down as the sounds of the other kids sleeping can be heard. Phil peeks his teary eyes out from the pillow to look up at the window near his bed to see the full moon out that shines into the room. Phil slowly gets up to sit up straight from his bed to lean over to open the drawer next to him on the left side of his bed to pull out the necklace Alex has given to him.
Phil continues to stare at the necklace as time goes by and tightens it as more tears start to fall down his face. Phil begins to put the necklace on around his neck and grips the metal wolf at the end towards his chest and silently cries again. Unknowns to him a raven can be seen standing by the window looking into the room watching the whole scene of Phil crying the entire time.
As time slowly goes by Phil has spent time the first couple days crying alone. While he didn't cry much during the day, he continues to mostly cry at night when he's sure that everyone is in the room is asleep. The other kids have noticed very quickly that Phil has become very sad since Alex has left and they have tried to find ways to cheer him up.
"Phil come play tag with us we could use another player" says one boy with messy black hair.
"Hey Phil do you want to play with us instead" says a girl with long brown hair while wearing glasses.
"Phil I know how much Alex loves reading to you so whenever you want I can always read anything you want" says another girl with shorter red hair.
No matter how much the kids try to offer things to Phil or try their best to cheer him up Phil would always decline and say No. The other kids decided to leave Phil alone but they would remind him from time to time if he wants to play or talk he can come to them.
Whenever Phil was alone he would spend his day laying down on his bed, then he would sometimes go to the library when he is sure there no one else there. Phil would grab one of the many books Alex has read to him before and just try to read it before giving up halfway and just hold the book.
Anytime Phil decided to go outside, he would walk all the way towards the forest to go nearby tree to sit down and stare at the sky and everything around him.
After a few weeks since Alex has been "adopted" Phil has decided to hang out with the other kids to play with them. While Phil may still be a bit sad he decided he wants to continue to play with the other kids.
"Hey Phil do you want to play tag with us?" said a boy named Evan who was only 9 years old with short purple hair.
"Sure Evan I would love to play!" Phil smiles as he joins with the other kids who want to play.
"Ok I will be it and will give everyone 5 minutes to hide in the forest starting… now" Evan declares.
All the children including Phil start running and make their way up north into the forest to find a place to hide. As Phil runs into the forest, he sees kids all around him making their ways towards different directions around him but Phil decided to continue going straight ahead. The farther you go into the forest the chances of being the last one to survive are high. As Phil continues to run and search a place he could hear loud shouting far away from behind him which indicates that Evan has begun tagging the other kids he sees which furthers Phil motivation to keep running straight ahead. Up ahead Phil sees a tall tree that has large bushes around it so he makes his way over there through the bushes and hides behind the tree.
"This has to be a good spot, the bushes here can cover me when I am behind the tree. Now I just need to wait." Phil thinks in his head with a determine look as he sits down waiting.
As time goes by slowly for Phil as he waiting for someone to comes towards his way, Phil glances down to look at the necklace hanging from his chest that Alex has once given to him only a few weeks ago. "I miss you Alex" Phil thought to himself as he twirls the metal wolf of the necklace. Suddenly a loud screeching came out of nowhere which startles Phil and causes him to look up. A black bird flies down towards him landing on the ground in front of him. It turns to look at him.
"A raven" Phil stares at it in amusement. "What are you doing out here raven?"
The raven turns its head to the side but continues to stare at Phil while Phil continues to stare back at it.
"Well of course you can not talk since you are only a bird. But I think I learned from a book that ravens can mimic words humans say.
Phil gets up on his knees and slowly moves towards the bird trying his best not to startle it and fly away.
"I wonder where your family is… do you have a family out there?"
The bird just moves its head at its body to start pecking at it before shaking its head.
"I'm guessing that is a no then. I had a family with a different group of kids… Emma, ray and the others but they all escaped and the rest and I got separated into different places. That's how I ended up here. I do have a new family here and I do like them because they are nice."
Phil slowly pulls his right arm with his hand out and moves it towards the raven.
"I wonder if I can pet you. Can I pet you please? I will be gentle."
Phil continues to move his hand and puts it on top over the raven and gently lowers his hand down while staring at the bird. As his hand is near the bird he sticks one finger out and gently puts his finger behind the bird head and touches it. The raven opens its peck up a bit but nothing happened yet so Phil decides to put the rest of his fingers on the bird and gently pets it. Surprisingly the raven manages to stay still as Phil starts to pet it behind his head down to its upper body.
"You are a very beautiful bird. Your feathers feel very soft." Phil smiles as he continues to pet the raven. The raven closes its beak and seems to be very much enjoying the attention its getting from the human. Soon Phil decided enough is enough and pulls away and goes back to lean against the tree.
"I wonder how the game of tag is going over there on the other side?" Phil thought to himself. While Phil was thinking the raven flies its way towards Phil and lands on his lap.
"Hello there, I didn't think you would come to me that quick" Phil says with a surprised look on his face. The raven on his lap gives him a quick glimpse before looking down and poking at his clothes. It eventually goes and towards the necklace Phil is wearing around his neck.
"I see you are interested in the necklace I am wearing." Phil smiles as he starts to pet the bird again behind the head. "This here on the necklace is a wolf. I wonder if you seen any wolves."
"I got this necklace from someone who I really care about. But she no longer here now and I miss her every single day." Phil's eyes began to water a bit but he continues to talk.
"I miss Alex… I miss Emma… I..I… I miss everyone." Phil says in a sorrow voice. A tear gently comes down his face but Phil quickly stops petting the raven to wipe it away along with his eyes.
"I wish I can run away and escape this please by myself." Phil says as his nose starts to stiffen
The raven looks at him and moves its head toward Phil hand and pokes at it with its beak. Phil looks at the raven and goes back to petting it again. "Soon I will have to leave and head inside later so I wont be out here long." The sounds of a stick being stepped on along with the footsteps of someone running towards Phil direction can be heard. The raven opens its mouth to make a harsh sound before flying off into the sky.
Phil gets on high alert and puts his hands over his mouth to keep himself quiet and not make a move as the noises arounds him gets louder and louder. Then all the sudden it just stops out of the blue. Phil continues to keep his hands over mouth.
All the sudden two hands come out of nowhere and grab Phil arm and shoulder "AH HA I GOT YOU PHIL" Shouted Evan as he does a sneak attack tagging Phil.
"AHHH EVAN" Phil said as he eyes wide as he was caught off guard.
"I got you Phil. You got really lucky while you can but I still managed to find you. When I saw a bird fly off from the ground in the direction you were at I went to check that spot out and I didn't actually think you would be there at all. You happen to actually be the last person I managed to tag."
"Really!?" Phil said in shock
"Yes totally" Evan nodded with a grin. "Anyway we should head back I'm sure the others are wondering where we are and we don't want to worry mom." Phil nods and gets up and follows Evan as they make their way back to the house. On the journey home Phil stops and turns around to look back and looks at the sky.
"I wonder if I will ever see you again" Phil whispers to himself.
"What was that? See what now?" Evan asks coming towards Phil with a confused look on his face.
"Oh well while I was hiding I saw a black bird. It was actually a raven and I actually got to pet it." Phil says with a smile on his face.
"Really no way that is so cool!" "I wish I could pet a bird but they are always in the air and anytime I try to get close to one on the ground they always fly away." Evan said with a pout and crosses his arms over his chest. "But anyway lets head back now" Evan begins to walk back and Phil looks back one last time before following Evan. In the distance at a tree on the tree branch a raven could be seen watching the two boys leaving.
As Evan and Phil make their way back to the house Phil can see all the kids and the caretaker waiting for them with happy faces.
"No way Phil was actually the last one to get tagged?" said by one child.
"How did you survive for that long Phil?" said another.
"Well I happened to find Phil deep in the forest almost close to the gates that we have to stay away from." Evan said with a smile on his face.
"No way … I didn't know I gotten that far I probably didn't notice." Phil thought to himself.
"Anyway Phil told me he found a raven bird out there in the forest and he actually got to pet it. isn't that amazing!" Evan exclaimed
The kids around them began to awe with looks of excitement began to show on their faces.
"No way Phil you are so lucky"
"I wish I can pet a bird"
"ravens are so cool"
"My.. my isn't that interesting to hear" the caregiver said as she gives Phil a smile on her face. Phil gives a smile and nods back. The caretaker than begins to walk towards Phil and stands next to him on his right side.
"Now children now that I got all of you here I have some wonderful news to announce. Phil here is going to be adopted soon within the next few weeks." The caretaker said as she continues to smile.
All the kids began to scream in joy and celebrate that another one of them is going to get adopted. Phil on the other hand feels like the world around him is going to explode. "No.. No… No this cant be happening… PLEASE NO" Phil thought in head as he trying to process the news that the caretaker just said. One by one all the children around him began to congratulate him for being adopted.
Phil tries to force a smile on his face trying his best not to freak out. Phil turns towards the caretaker who happens to be looking at him this whole time waiting.
"I cant wait to be adopted Momma" Phil says with a fake smile and goes to hug the caretaker. Later that night after everyone has eaten dinner, taken a bath and are now in bed Phil is sitting sideways looking at the floor thinking.
"How is this possible? How can I be adopted so soon, I am not even six years old yet. Did Emma make a mistake thinking only those six and up can be adopted? Did they change the rules?" So many questions begin to fill Phil head as he tries his best to figure out why.
"Oh no, if I am getting adopted soon then that means I won't be here when Emma and the others come to rescue me and all the other kids."
Phil gets off from the bed and walks towards the window and looks outside. "I have no choice but to run away now. I can't stay here anymore, it's no longer safe for me to be here. What am I going to do?"
Phil walks away from the window and heads towards the bedroom door slowly opens it and sneaks out. Phil makes his way down the halls quietly tip toeing trying not to make any noise as he continues to walk.
Once Phil makes it towards the kitchen, he walks over to the drawers and opens one up and puts his hand in to reach for something. Phil then slowly pulls out a kitchen knife. "If I'm going to be adopted then I wont give up without a fight" Phil said determinedly.
