Chapter 10

A/N

Alright. I have some bad news. I don't really have time to write too much and come up with new plots because of school. I'll wrap the current plots up with the next few trials and I might continue this some other day maybe next year. I'll still post Dynasty and Victorious fanfics but they're most likely gonna be one or two-shots. I have some ideas but as I said, I don't have much time to do so. I've also been more into making edits now so yeah.

DISCLAIMER: I don't own any of these characters!

It's the big sixteenth birthday every girl looks forward to. And Jade was no different. Although, she was looking forward to it for a different reason. Jade absolutely hated being treated like a little kid and her turning sixteen meant she was officially transitioning into adulthood.

Brushing on the finishing touch onto her face, Jade sighed, her fingers finding their way to the small gold locket resting on her chest. She placed the black bristled brush back into its original place and got up to check herself in the mirror.

Satisfied with her appearance, she walked out the door and down the grand wooden stairs of the penthouse. Jade stepped into the dining room, where her parents had already started breakfast. "Morning mom, morning dad." She greeted, grabbing a croissant from the large silver platter in the middle of the table.

"Happy sweet sixteen darling."

Her dad motioned to the chair next to him, "sit down and have a proper breakfast sweetheart."

Covering her mouth with the back of her hand, she muffly spoke, chewing the croissant, "Can't. Cat's waiting for me downstairs. She's taking me to a spa and we're going shopping or something."

"Alright, have a nice time. Happy birthday sweetie." Richard replied.

"Bye!" Jade called, small crumbs trickling out, "Sorry!" She added on.

Downstairs, waiting for the birthday girl, Eric paced back and forth, listening to the recorded version of the file, going over the evidence. Cat on the other hand distracted herself, trying to make friends with every guest who passed by.

Hearing the familiar ding! snapped Cat's attention to the elevator, just in time to see her friend step out. Cat bounced up to her, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JADEY!" Drawing Eric's attention too.

Jade winced at Cat's loud birthday wishes, "Quiet down. There's people around."

Cat's hand flew to her mouth, "Oops, sorry," she apologized.

A soft tapping noise hit the ground over and over again, directing Jade's attention over to see Eric making his way over. She stepped forward, narrowing the gap between them, placing a hand on his shoulder, she turned him towards her. "Hello."

Eric's hand went to the back of his head, "Whoops, didn't see you there, but then I can't see anything now can I?" He joked.

Jade chuckled, "so is there a particular reason you came?"

"As a matter of fact, yes," Eric offered a small recording device, "the information my team gathered. It makes a pretty strong case, nearly airtight."

She lightly tossed it in her hand, "wow, maybe my family should fire those bozo's and hire you guys. A week and they've found something resembling a case. In two days, you guys found an early airtight case."

Eric blushed, "Thank you, I've got a pretty good team."

"Hey, why'd you drop it off now instead of at the lawyer meeting?"

"Emmy wants me to take her on a romantic vacation for a couple days."

"Wow, how much will it cost?"

"I'm not sure, Emmy handles most of the budget and my money, you know, since I can't see anything?"

"Eric." Jade started, "do you know how much she spends?"

"She told me she just goes shopping for basic necessities, it shouldn't cost much." He shrugged.

Jade took a deep breath in, "Eric. No. Emma does not only buy necessities. I've seen her with dozens of shopping bags, all from designer brands. Have a chat with her about it alright?" She patted him on the shoulder and walked away, grabbing Cat with her.

"I have so many things planned for us today!" Cat squealed.

"Mhm, alright. What's the first order of business then?"

"SPA DAY!!"

Cat and Jade exited their ride, and stepped in front of the large, luxurious, black, building. Jade looked at Cat, impressed. "This looks really nice." She mused.

The red-head smiled, pleased with herself. "C'mon!" She bounced through the door, up to the front desk.

"May I help you young ladies?" The woman sweetly asked.

"10 o'clock appointment for Cat Valentine and Jade West!"

The woman, whose name tagged read, Lori, scrolled through the list, "Ah, here we go, the pure luxury pack right?"

Cat excitedly bobbed her head, "yup!"

"Right this way ladies," Lori motioned to a sleek hallway. "Your package includes a full luxury mani-pedi, a 60 minute elemental nature massage, a 75 minutes personalized full facial, and a diamond microdermabrasion. This should take approximately 5 to 6 hours." Their guide explained to them.

Reaching a door in the long hall, she pushed open a dark grey door, revealing a dimly lit room. Lori motioned to 3 women in the room, "and this is Raina, Iris, and Evelyn, they will be your attendant, getting anything you want during your stay with us."

"Do you guys have champagne here?" Jade asked.

"Of course. Chilled at exactly 46 degrees with a variety of cocktails or flavored champagne. Do you have a specific request?"

"Kir Royale with rose champagne instead of regular." Jade requested, "and strawberry sparkling water for Cat, make it look like alcohol, I can't have her hyper this early."

"Of course Ms. West." Turning towards the 3 attendants, she nodded towards one, named Iris, who scurried off to get her order. "Alright, I'll leave you guys alone now."

A brunette stepped forward with 2 grey bathrobes, "Please change into these,"

Reaching out, Jade grabbed the robes, handing one to Cat, "alright, thank you."

When 4 o'clock finally rolled around and Jade had been delivered back to the grand penthouse to get ready. Approaching her large bedroom doors, she pushed them opened, gasping at what was waiting for her.

A beautiful black tulle ballgown adorned with flecks of ruby red gemstones and a 4 feet train was displayed on a mannequin, greeting its owner.

Jade lightly brushed her fingers over the delicate jewels along the neckline, admiring the masterpiece standing in front of her.

""You like the dress?" A voice from the door startled the birthday girl.

Looking over, Jade saw her mother standing in the doorway, she smiled, "mom, this is gorgeous! How did you make this in such short timing?!"

"I may have had a around 20 tailors working on it with me. I'm glad you like it sweetheart. Now go put it on! I want to see it in you."

Jade nodded and splayed her finger on the mannequin, gripping it and wheeling it into the bathroom.

After some time, the grey door was pulled inwards, and out came the raven-haired beauty, the dress fitting her perfectly, hugging all the right curves.

Sarah clasped her hands together, "Darling, it look magnificent on you!"

"Thank you, you did brilliant with this dress."

"Come here," she patted Jade's vanity chair, "let me do your hair."

Jade grasped the middles of her dress on each side, lifting them up for easier walking and plopped herself down.

Her mothers fingets quickly got to work and grabbed Jade black and gold marble design brush, gently running it through her daughter's jet black hair. She held her hand out, "red extensions".

2 of Jades finger grabbed a silver handle and pulled the drawer opened, revealing a collection of colorful extensions. Picking out a couple darker red streaks, she placed them in her mothers hand.

Once receiving the streaks, she twisted the red streaks on opposite sides in the front. Picking the brush up again, she went through Jades hair again, "so what did Cat take you to do today?" She asked.

"Took me to Mercury Spa and booked the luxury package."

"Yeah? Did you enjoy it?" Sarah's hand reached for the small box on the vanity containing small black bands, braiding sections Jades hair.

The mother daughter duo talked for near 30 minutes as Jade's mothers fingers danced across the dark hair, creating delicate twists, sectioning half of it to be pinned up in a bun with braids wrapping around it, curling the bottom half creating beautiful beach waves, and topping everything off with small white pearl pins and a sparkly ruby comb, nestled neatly on the bun, matching the dress perfectly.

"You've clearly given this look a lot of thought," Jade mused as she turned side to side, admiring her mothers once again, fabulous work.

Sarah beamed, "of course! My baby's turning 16!"

Jade playfully rolled her eyes, "I'm not a baby anymore!"

"Well in the eyes of the law and me, your not an adult either," she answered, pressing a kiss to the side of her daughters head. "The make-up teams coming in in a few minutes, pick out your shoes in the mean time."

Jade nodded, "alright, bye, see you at the party."

Sarah walked to the door, pulling it open, "love you sweetheart!"

"Love you too!" Jade called back and scrunchedher nose, she never did like saying that but she did love her mom. Lifting up the dress once more, she glided over to her closet, knowing exactly which pair she wanted.

Jade bent down and picked out a pair of black heels, adorned with black crystals, looking almost like an evil version of Cinderellas glass slippers.

Slipping into her heels and sitting back at the vanity, she waited for the makeup team to come in and make her look like she's going on a red carpet, in the meantime, she decided to scroll on her phone.

An hour later, she was finally at the venue and ready to be presented at her party, she took a deep breath in, calming her nerves.

"AND NOW, THE BIRTHDAY GIRL, JADELYN AUGUST WEST!" She heard the announcer say.

Jade cringed, she hated her full name, but nonetheless, she walked through the smoke clouds, a small smile gracing her face as she scanned the crowd.

The fake smile broke into a real one upon seeing her boyfriend, all dolled up, floofy hair and a nice new suit. The birthday girl stood there for another minute, letting the journalists get there pictures. She didn't want them here but her manager had invited them anyways, telling her it was good publicity.

Once the flashes died down, she walked over the Beck, whispering, "you look very handsome."

"Your one to speak, have you looked at yourself? A freaking goddess." Beck whispered back.

Jade grinned, "why thank you babe."

Cat bounced up to the young couple, wearing a dusty pink party dress with many ruffles, "JADEY! YOU LOOK SO PRETTY!" She squealed.

Andre also walked up the the now trio, "girl, you look like fineee" he said, exaggerating "fine", with Tori in tow.

Jade snarled, "Vega. Why are you here. You weren't invited."

Tori looked at Andre sheepishly before he spoke up, "uhh, she's my plus one.."

Jade's cold blue eyes glared at him, making him gulp, "Invite her as your plus one to my parties again and you'll lose your invite too," she hissed and added, "and so much more."

The music and atmosphere of the venue suddenly changed, Andre finally letting out the breath he'd been holding as the light gloweda soft red as opposed the bright white before, and a soft waltz music started playing.

Robbie came up behind Cat, "You wanna dance?" He asked, offering a hand.

Cat smiled, "Yay! Dancing!" She happily took her boyfriends hand.

People around them started pairing up, already waltzing around the room. Even Tori and Andre was paired up, stumbling through the dance as they both had no idea how to waltz.

Beck bowed, "malady, may I have this dance?" He asked, offering a hand while looking down.

Jade snickered, "your so cheesy you know? But yes, you may have this dance."

As the happy couple quickly joined the others dancing, Beck used a free hand to pull out a small box. Jade raised her eyebrows, "if your gonna propose, you should stop before you embrasasse yourself, I want to marry you but I've just turned 16. I'm not getting married now."

Beck smiled, "not a proposal," he opened the velvet box to reveal 2 nut and bolt necklaces, "more of a promise. A promise ring of sorts."

"Beck. This is perfect." Jade leaned in kissing her boyfriend.

He slipped the necklace over her head, "I'll be yours forever babe. I love you."

Jade touched the necklace, "and I'll be yours forever. I love you too." She said, their foreheads touching as they waltz through the room, a vulnerability Jade would only show in private, but in her eyes, it was just them and that was close enough.

Alright! That was it! It took me so long to finish this, writers block and procrastination is not fun. I do have an important question for y'all though. Do you want me to continue with the lawsuit even though we all would know who wins in the end, or should I just leave it off here cause I think this is a pretty good place to leave off.

Also, as previously mentioned, I won't be continuing another storyline/plot anytime soon, maybe I'll contine over the summer but right now, I don't have enough time but I will still post one shots, but most likely they'd be Reign or Dynasty one shots, as I'm a lot more interested in those shows now.

(P.S: this chapter would've been posted days ago but I moved into a new house and the wifi isn't set up yet.)
