Star Wars: The Tano Bonteri's

Disclaimer: I do not own star wars, clone wars, rebels or The Bad Batch which I will possibly integrate into this story after the end of the first season. I also do not own any of the lore or characters from any of the star wars games or comics, both legends and canon since I will more likely than not use a mix of the two.

A/N: I've never written a fanfic before so I apologize in advance if this one isn't very good so please don't hate me.

chapter 1: The Call

Lux Bonteri was on his way to the supreme chancellor's office to discus the final documents that would officially make Onderon part of the republic, but as soon as the door slid open the young senators mouth dropped and he wanted to throw up from the scene that lay spread out before him.

The head of Jedi master Agen Kolar lay at the base of the doorway with the rest of the Zabraks body laying a few feet away right below the archway that led into the chancellors office. Not five feet from were the first dead Jedi layed was the body of the Jedi Saesee Tiin, who had a massive gash going down his chest and stomach, making many of his organs visible.

Lux wanted to run at that very moment but the sounds of lightsabers clashing from further within the chancellors office drew him in. He came to the archway leading to the chancellors office and peaked his face into the chamber and at that moment he saw the chancellor himself yank a crimson red blade from the impaled body of Kit Fisto.

As the Nautolan Jedi master fell to the ground the chancellor then turned and started dueling Mace Windu and at that moment lux heard the door that he had entered from slide open again.

Lux thought quick on his feet and dove behind a couch that sat a few feet away to hide himself from the newcomer. When this new arrival was about half way between the door and the archway leading to Palpatine's office the Onderonian made a break for the door leading out of the chancellors chambers. He only looked back for a split second only to see the back of the newcomers head which sported a hair style that Lux had only ever seen on one person, Anakin Skywalker.

As lux ran down the halls of the senate building one thought kept screaming to him inside his head, "Ahsoka, I have to tell Ahsoka and warn her" Lux eventually said too himself.

Quick authors note: Yes I changed the fight scene between Palpatine and the Jedi but I did it for a reason that will become clear in a later chapter.

Ahsoka was on the bridge of the Venator class star destroyer with Captain Rex standing at her side as the ship disembarked from the war torn city of Sundari. The siege of Mandalor had destroyed many lives and maybe even part of the mandalorian culture but it had resulted in the capture of the man that many belived to be the sith who started the whole war. Ahsoka contemplated this as the ship exited the atmosphere of Mandalore and entered hyperspace.

After a minute or two of staring out into the beautiful chaos of hyperspace Ahsoka's holodisk started to ring. She immediatly answered it and the image of Lux Bonteri appeared.

The small hologram showed the young Onderonian running at what looked to be as fast as he could with a look of sheer terror on his face.

Ahsoka seeing and sensing the young man's fear immediately said "Lux what's wrong?" she asked while Rex watched and listened with intent off to the side.

Lux only momentarily slowed down to round a corner and catch his breath before responding but even then, he had to take very deep breaths between almost every word. "Ahsoka... I... just saw... chancellor Palpatine... kill... three Jedi... and start to dual... Mace Windu... with a blood red... lighsaber!"

Ahsoka was immediatly confused and in disbelief of what she had just heard but Rex, who had been silently listening to the whole conversation suddenly took in a gasp of air so deeply and suddenly that it got Ahsoka's attention.

"Rex, what is it?" Ahsoka asked with a look of concern starting to grow on her face.

"Fives, he wasn't crazy; he was telling the truth." said the clone captain with a look of pure shock and horror on his face.

Ahsoka immediately realized what Rex was talking about having been told about what happened with clone/ARC trooper Fives by Rex only a few days prior.

Ahsoka quickly turned back to face the small hologram of Lux Bontari still in her hand. "Lux, don't loose this communicator no matter what, I'll call you later and tell you where to meet up." the young Tagruta said before deactivating the holodisc and reattaching it to her belt. Ahsoka and Rex simultaneously both ran to two seperate consoles as fast as they could and started transmitting two different messages to every republic comm channel they could think of. Rex sent out a transmition to all clone troopers that were listening to immediately either remove their inhibitor chips, which at this point all clones knew about, distance themselves from any and all Jedi, or find a way to restrain themselves. Ahsoka's transmition told any and all Jedi to run and hide from the clones or at the very least try to get the inhibitor chips out of as many clones as they could. However, since the ship was still in hyperspace they could only send out their individual signals one comm channel at a time.

Ahsoka was about to tell all of the clones on the bridge to get to the medical bay when suddenly every comm devise in the room turned on and uttered the three words that would forever change the galaxy, "Execute order 66". Every clone in the room suddenly started to raise their blasters, some slower than others as they were trying to resist the spell the inhibitor chip was putting them under. Ahsoka suddenly turned around to look at Rex only to see him in tears as his helmet fell from his trembling hand as he raised his blaster pistols screaming at everyone and no one at the same time to stay back. Suddenly with one last desperate scream Rex hit a button on the side of one of his pistols and with one fluent motion raised that pistol to his own head and pulled the trigger.

Ahsoka screamed out at the sight of her best friend pulling the trigger on himself to save her. Before she even knew what she was doing Ahsoka was levitating in the air and curled up with her knees to her chest and her arms making an X in front of her. In the blink of an eye her limbs shot outwards releasing a shockwave of force energy in all directions slamming all the other clones in the room to the walls and knocking them unconscious.

The former Jedi quickly ran to Rex's body and held him in her arms; tears filling her eyes and clouding her vision. The Tagruta couldn't believe what Rex had just done to save her. The mere thought caused her to relive the memory causing Ahsoka to cry even more.

Ahsoka suddenely heard what sounded like a breath coming from the body of her best friend but she brushed it off as lost hope or denial. Suddenly she heard another breath, this time feeling Rex's chest expand as he did so. Ahsoka looked down and saw that Rex was indeed alive. Ahsoka then looked at the clone's head more closely and realized that their was no blaster hole in the clone captains head. She took a quick glance at the blaster that Rex had been holding when he shot himself and saw that it was set to stun.

Ahsoka wasted no time in carrying Rex to the med bay using the force to enhance her strength so she could lift him.

Once in the medical center Ahsoka immediately locked the door and used her lightsabers to destroy the control panel. She then moved Rex onto the examination table and programmed the machines to start scanning the clone's head for the inhibitor chip so they could remove it.

A few moments later, with a little help from Ahsoka and the force, Ahsoka heard the medical droid beep indicating that he had found the chip but before Ahsoka could tell him to begin with the procedure she sensed someone sneaking up on her from behind and quickly turned herself around and blocked what would have been a solid blow to the head. Ahsoka then intercepted her assailant's other arm and held both arms back with all her strength. It was only at that moment that the attackers face became visible. Ahsoka immediately recognized the face tattoo of the Republic crest on the clone troopers face.

"Jesse, this isn't you, you have to fight it, you have to fight it!" Ahsoka said as she held back Jesse's arms which were attempting to strangle her.

At the sound of her words Jesse seemed to lessen the tension in his arms for only a second before resuming his deadly struggle with Ahsoka.

Ahsoka could now see Jesse's eyes clear as day and they too were filled with tears, it was at that moment that Ahsoka realized that Jesse wasn't controlling his own body but some foreign object that was enslaving the ARC trooper to do it's bidding.

She also realized that Jesse wasn't wearing his armor, only his black body sock since he was still recovering after his run in with Maul. Ahsoka knew that she couldn't beat Jesse in a battle of physical strength and she knew that if she wanted to survive she would have to fight dirty. Ahsoka quickly but silently shifted her leg into the proper position between Jesse's legs and thrust her knee upwards into the clone troopers crotch. Jesse howled in pain as he suddenly yanked his hands from Ahsoka's grip to hold his pubic area as he curled up into a fetal position on the floor in a futile attempt to make the pain go away. Ahsoka, not missing a beat, quickly placed bother her hands on either side of Jesse's head and uttered one word. "Sleep" she said in a calm, almost hypnotic voice. Jesse's eyes rolled back into his head as he fell over completely unconscious.

Ahsoka wasted no time in telling the medical droid to start removing Rex's chip while at the same time moving Jesse's slumbering body onto the operating table parallel to him.

It took only a few minutes for a passing group of clones to determine that someone had locked themselves in the medical bay. A few minutes and a couple of denotators later, the clones were preparing to charge into the med bay with everything they had. Luckily their was an astromech in the medical room that Ahsoka used to jam their comms so they didn't alert the whole ship to were they were. As soon as the first trooper charged in Ahsoka knew she was in trouble when a clone carrying a minigun walked in the door and almost immediately had one of her lightsabers destroyed by a perfectly placed blaster bolt.

Not thirty seconds later Ahsoka lost her other lightsaber as a result of taking a blaster bolt too the shoulder. She was about to be shot execution style in the head by three different clones at once when suddenly what looked like a clone trooper helmet collided with the helmet of one of the other clones, followed quickly by a vast assortment of medical supplies and more armor pieces. At the same time Ahsoka suddenly heard and saw blue blaster bolts fly past both sides of her head, each one landing square in the chest of it's clone target until their were none left alive. Ahsoka instantly used the force to reseal the medical bay doors. It was only then that she realized that Jesse had been throwing pieces of his own armor to help protect Ahsoka, leading her to the conclusion that he had not been allowed to bring his blasters with him when he was sent to the medical bay. Rex was now sitting up-right with his pistols still raised and pointing at the door with smoke still coming from the barrels of his twin blasters.

"Are you guys all right?" was all Ahsoka could manage to get out. Jesse was the first to respond while repositioning his hands so one held the spot on his head where his chip had been removed while the other resumed covering his crotch area. "I just got kicked in the crotch and had part of my brain removed, but enough about me, how has your day been going?" the clone lieutenant said with a slight chuckle in his voice.

"Yay, sorry about that Jesse, but in my defense you were trying to strangle me at the time." said Ahsoka in response. It was at that moment that Ahsoka's body ran out of adrenaline and the pain from her blasted shoulder took hold on her. Ahsoka fell to her knees while raising her arm to hold her shoulder. Not a minute later, Ahsoka's body gave in to the pain as she passed out.

Lux didn't remember how he got out of the senate building, or even how he ended up on a private transport shuttle. The first thing he remembered after calling Ahsoka was holstering his concealed blaster back to his ankle strap and tossing a pilot droid with a hole in its head out of the pilot's seat.

Immediately after taking off from Coruscant Lux flew to the near by planet Tython, the ancient home world of the Jedi. Not long after landing Lux's communicator disc started to ring. He instantly answered it but was greeted by Rex instead of the Tagruta he was hoping for. "Rex, where's Ahsoka? She said she would be calling me later to tell me were to meet up!" Said Lux. "It's good to see you too kid, thanks for asking." said Rex in a very sarcastic voice. "Ahsoka's here and safe, and I've got an idea about were to meet up. Head to these coordinates on Saleucami." answered Rex as he transmitted the coordinates to Lux.

When Ahsoka started to wake up, the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was the face of a clone she didn't recognize who had his hair pulled back into a ponytail and sported a pair of sideburns. Ahsoka quickly tried to run from the clone fearing that he may try to kill her like the others did, but quickly found that all her limbs were numb. The clone, noticing Ahsoka struggling to move quickly called out "Suu, she's awake!" Ahsoka was able to turn her head towards the door leading into the room just in time to see a purple/pink skinned Twi'lek women walk in fallowed by a pair of Twi'lek children who themselves were fallowed shortly by Rex and Jesse who were no longer wearing their upper body armor.

"Stay calm, this should help get the drug out of your system faster!" Said the purple female Twi'lek as she picked up a syringe and injected it's contents into Ahsoka's neck.

After a few minutes, Ahsoka could move most of her upper body again so she decided to ask were they were.

"Well let's start by introducing ourselves, I'm Cut Lawquane, this is my wife Suu, my sun Jek, and my daughter Shaeeah." said the clone with the ponytail as he gestured to the members of his family as he named them off.

"I'm Ahsoka Tano, and I can assume you already know Rex or Jesse?" said Ahsoka as she started shaking hands with the Lawquane's.

"They know me after a mission to Saleucami many years ago." said Rex.

"I'm surprised you never reported finding a deserter, or at the very least never told me about it." Ahsoka said after coming to the conclusion that Cut was in fact a deserter.

"They saved my life after I was severally wounded, and I didn't want to risk his family being ripped apart."

"And that is a debt that can never trully be repayed, so stay here as long as you like." said Cut as he patted Rex on the shoulder.

It was at that moment that Shaeeah suddenly called out "Daddy, do you hear that?" she said as she cupped one of her ears. It took a second for the adults to pick up on the sound she was talking about, which they all quickly made out to be the sound of an approaching ship.

All of the adults immediately sprung into action with all three of the clones grabbing their weapons while Suu picked up a sniper/hunting rifle and Ahsoka force pulling her remaining lightsaber to her hand from a nearby table, thou it was in vain since she still couldn't move her legs or even sit up straight.

The adults were now positioned with their backs against the walls at the front of the house either sitting below or standing next to a window. As soon as the door of the approaching ship opened and it's occupant stepped down the ramp Rex immediately held up his fist and yelled out "hold your fire".

A few seconds later Ahsoka saw Rex open the front door to let the newcomer in "good to see you made it" said Rex to the new arrival who's face was still hidden to Ahsoka by the door. "Where's Ahsoka?" said a voice that instantly brought a warm feeling to Ahsoka's chest. "She's right this way." said Rex as he closed the front door finally revealing the face of Lux Bonteri.

Lux wasted no time in running to Ahsoka's bed side and giving her a hug which Ahsoka did her best to reply thou her arms were still a little numb.

"What happened to you?" said Lux after noticing the bacta patches on her shoulder.

"I was just wondering the same thing!" said the Tagruta in response while shooting a questioning look at Rex and Jesse.

"That's a pretty long story" replied Rex.

"And I've got time to hear it." said Ahsoka.

A/N: this part takes place between the time directly after Ahsoka passed out and when Rex called Lux.

"Ahsoka? Ahsoka?" repeated Rex after seeing his young commander and friend fall to the floor of the med bay. Both Rex and Jesse quickly ran over to the Tagruta's side and lifted her onto a nearby examination table. After placing her on the table Rex noticed the blaster hole in Ahsoka's Left shoulder.

"Jesse, get that medical droid over here!" said Rex while pointing to a deactivated medical droid standing in the corner of the room. As soon as the droid took a look at Ahsoka it told the clones that Ahsoka was simply passed out, likely as a result of exhaustion and the shock from being shot.

"Well can you wake her up?" said Rex.

"Wait!" said Jesse in a very sudden voice that was one octave away from a yell.

"Rex we can use this to our advantage." said the clone lieutenant.

"How?" replied Rex.

"If we can find something to slow her heart rate and breathing to almost nothing, we might be able to trick the other clones into thinking she's dead..." "and think were leaving the ship to go dump her body." said Rex finishing Jesse's sentence for him.

"Droid, is their anything in here that can do that?" Rex asked the medical droid.

"Their is." said the droid while sifting through a nearby cabinet. "How long do you wish for her to remain in this state?" questioned the droid.

"Just a couple of hours" replied Rex. The droid immediately started to fill a syringe with the proper amount of the drug. After the droid had injected the drug into Ahsoka's neck Rex and Jesse started collecting bacta patches and applied them to Ahsoka's torso, then they took a bag of transfusion blood and dripped it onto the bandages so it would look like Ahsoka had bled to death. They then moved Ahsoka onto a levitating stretcher and pulled a sheet over her slumbering body and set out for the main hanger.

When they got to the main hanger what looked like over a hundred clones were guarding the only shuttle in the hanger. One of the clones immediately looked under the sheet to see Ahsoka's "dead" body. "How did she die and where?" asked the clone.

"We found her in the med bay, looked like she'd been shot and tried to patch herself up but couldn't stop the bleeding." explained Rex. "We're requesting permission to move her body to the shuttle for transport off of the ship as soon as we exit hyperspace." said Rex. "Permission granted." said the clone trooper as he gestured for them to continue moving the body onto the shuttle.

The moment before Rex and Jesse were on board the shuttle the doors on the right side of the hanger slid open to reveal the red skinned zabrak Darth Maul.

"Where do you think your going with my ship?" said Maul in a voice that was somehow part anger, part sarcasm, and part chuckle all at the same time. As the red skinned sith was saying this he pulled a small cylinder from behind his back and pressed a button on top. In the next second the entire ship started to shake and somehow the main fighter deployment doors opened and the chaos of hyperspace quickly disappeared and the image of a white colored planet came into view.

"Blast him." Rex and Jesse both commanded in unison. All of the clones in the hanger started to blast the sith lord with the addition of Rex while Jesse finished moving Ahsoka onto the shuttle. As soon as Jesse had completed his task he turned around to tell Rex to get on board to see that only around a dozen clones still stood, since the rest had been crushed by supply grates or cut in half by pieces of metal that had been thrown through the force.

Rex was on board in a second and in the next second both clones were in the pilots seats trying to get the shuttle moving but their attempts were in vain because the infuriated zabrak was holding back the ship with all his might. Jesse quickly got out of the co-pilots seat and got on the rear gun in an attempt to blast Maul. The second the turret opened fire the zabrak simply lifted his left had up with his fist clenched and in doing so up lifted a piece of the floor and used it as a shield.

The Venator was now beginning to burn up as it entered the atmosphere of the planet below. Rex was even starting to feel the heat from within the cockpit of the shuttle. Jesse's turret gut had just overheated as a result of the heat and over firing. The clones were about to except their fates when suddenly one of the clones behind Maul that had been seemingly dead suddenly jumped up on top of Maul and with grenades' in each hand. In the next few seconds the entire hanger irrupted into flames with Maul and the clone at the center of the inferno. The shuttle suddenly shot out of the hanger and quickly took an upwards turn out and away from the planets atmosphere.

After going in to investigate the crash site and determining that their were no survivors and discovering that Maul must have planted detonators on the hyperdrive reactor Jesse finally gathered enough strength to tell Rex "captain, it's time to go." It took Rex a few minutes still before he too had the strength to leave.

A/N: Now we are back at the point where Rex is just finishing telling Lux and Ahsoka what happened and how they escaped.

"I called Lux and told him to meet us here right after we left the atmosphere." said Rex as he concluded the story.

"And you're sure no one survived the crash?" asked Ahsoka.

"I know what your thinking commander." said the clone captain as he pulled out his holo disk and prepared to project a picture form it. "You kids shouldn't see this!" he said to Jek and Shaeeah, inciting the children's parents to cover their eyes. Rex than activated the holo disk with the desired picture appearing. The image before her confirmed what Ahsoka had been thinking. The image consisted of the charred remains of a zabrak with the lower half of the remains consisting of partially melted metal legs. "Maul is dead Ahsoka." said Rex. Ahsoka let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding and she felt guilty about being relived that someone had died, even if that someone was a sith lord.

"Jesse and I have already decided that we're going to go back to bury our brothers" said Rex after a few minutes

"Take this with you than, you need to leave some sort of evidence that I'm dead." said Ahsoka as she gestured for Rex to take her lightsaber. Rex's face consisted of shock and disbelief. "Commander, I can't; I thought a Jedi's weapon was her life!" argued Rex. "It is." answered Ahsoka "But I'm no longer a Jedi." Ahsoka finished in a cold, stern voice that almost made Rex shiver. Rex, seeing that their was no changing Ahsoka's mind took the saber as he hugged his long time commander and best friend goodbye with a heavy heart and tears in his eyes knowing it would likely be the last time he ever saw the young Tagruta.

"We should probably get going too." said Lux. "I was contacted personally by senator Organa on the way here telling me were to meet up and that Obi'wan and yoda would be their!" said the young onderonian. "Than let's get going." answered Ahsoka.

It had been about an hour since Lux and Ahsoka had arrived at the medical facility at Polis Massa when all of a sudden several medical staff rushed by carrying what looked and sounded like a pregnant woman crying. Both Ahsoka and Lux jumped out of their seats and followed the crowed until they got to the birthing room where senator Organa, Obi' wan Kenobi, and Yoda were all staring into the room through the glass with sad and dreadful looks on their faces. "Masters, what's going o..." Ahsoka cut herself of as she looked into the room to see Padme, the closest thing she'd had ever had to a mother, lying on the bed/table in the center of the room.

In less that two seconds Ahsoka was inside the birthing room as Padme gave birth to the first of her children. Ahsoka held Padme's had through the entire prosses and after She had named the twins Padme looked into Ahsoka's blue eyes with tears filling her own. "Ahsoka, please take care of them, be the mother they will need!" said Padme as her head slowly fell to the pillow on the bed as she took her last breaths. With her eyes beginning to close Padme looked up at Ahsoka as the young Tagruta said the words that would forever change her life and the galaxy, "I promise." said Ahsoka with a shaky voice as Padme closed her eyes with a smile on her face knowing that her and Anakin's children would be raised by the greatest women possible. In the next moment Padme's body went limp as one last breath exited her mouth.

Senator Organa, Yoda, and Master Kenobi were all discussing what should be done with the children of the chosen one. "I believe they should be split up, make it harder for the sith to find them." said master Kenobi. "NO" said a voice from the doorway. It was Ahsoka who had both of the twins in either of her arms as they snuggled against her body. "I will not break the promise I made to Padme." said Ahsoka "Besides, I can sense that they have a force bond that is exceptionally strong, and if they are raised apart than that bond will be broken and could likely damage their connection to the force as a whole." argued the former Jedi. "You don't know hardly anything about being a parent Ahsoka!" argued Organa. "That's why I plan on going with her!" said a voice from just beyond the door, in the next few seconds Lux Bonteri appeared in the doorway next to Ahsoka as he took Leia from from Ahsoka's right had and started cuddling her against his own body. "Right after my aunt gave birth a few years ago my mother and I lived with her for nearly a whole year helping her raise her daughter since the father was dead, so I know how to raise children."

It only took a few more minutes to convince the others to let Ahsoka and Lux take the twins. "Okay, you take care of the twins, and I will go into hiding in the mountains of Alderaan, while Master Yoda will go into hiding on Dagoba." concluded Obi' wan.

A/N: the next chapter should be posted within a few days but I make no promises since I got horrible writers bloke just writing this chapter, also the next chapters probably won't be as long as this one.
