Chapter 1: Unexpected Heroism
It was a normal Saturday evening, Mineta, Denki, Momo, and Jirou were out doing some shopping, well, Momo and Jirou were shopping, while Denki and Mineta were looking at Video games. While Mineta and Denki being out and about together wasn't odd at all, Denki invited his girlfriend of a whole two days, Jirou, with them, and she invited her best friend.
The odd thing was that Mineta was so fixated on getting the newest, flashiest and most awesome game ever that he didn't even act Perverted, in fact, since the festival and Endeavor's fight with the nomu, he hasn't really been a problem.
"Oh my god... I got the collector's edition, it's like, so cool, it's an RPG action open world Hybrid." Mineta said with excitement. Denki was happy, and of course, wanted to see this game in action.
"Ya know, there is such a thing as over hyped, and besides, it's made by an American game company, not saying their games are bad just... against the common grain?" He asks his shorter friend.
Mineta let out a huff. "I'm half American, remember, I have my mom's family name, but my dad lives in America." he says, of course, his grades in english prove it, second in the class, without even trying, if he did try, he could probably ace that subject, but that thought was for another time, for now. "Tales of Blood and fire, here I come!" He says with a fist pumped into the air as both friends walked out of the store.
Walking along the street, both boys were heading to the store they knew the girls were at, Mineta was already reading the booklet that came with the game, and Denki was snickering at him.
"Bro, you are mumbling like Midoriya." Denki said with a smile.
"Huh... HEY! It's not a bad thing, I mean, Midoriya is good at quirk studies... and I don't mumble!" He said with a frown. "Anyway, let's see if the girls are finished so that we can get back to the dorms, I'm so glad tomorrow is Sunday, that means no class." The Grape haired boy says with even more excitement.
Denki let's out a sigh. "Guess I'll have to check in on you to make sure you eat, last time you almost passed out when..." He looked to see Jirou and Momo on the opposite side of the street as they approached the crosswalk.
"She is so damn pretty." Denki said as he took notice of Jirou. Mineta just looked up and smirked. "I'm happy for you, you got a girlfriend, I got the best game ever, looks like it's all ups for the boys." he says.
Just then a car swerved, heading towards the intersection as full speed, with a red light. Denki was too entranced to notice and Jirou was looking in her backpack and hadn't stepped onto the crosswalk yet, however...
... Momo had started crossing, and Mineta noticed and dropped the bag he was carrying, running at full sprint, that car was going to hit Momo, and Mineta acted without thinking. "MOMO, LOOK OUT!" He said as he used one of his grapes to propel himself from halfway along the crosswalk by dropping it on the ground and leaping off it with one foot towards her, pushing her out of the way just in time for him to be the one to get clobbered by a speeding sports car.
Momo looked up to see the little gremlin coming at her, at first she was put off by it, but she saw the look on his face, one of desperation.. Wondering why, she found herself pushed back, only seeing a red blur in front of her and the sick sound of a body hitting something moving way too fast.
"MINETA!" Denki yelled as he races onto the street and slid to a stop by his friend. "SOMEONE GET AN AMBULANCE!" He yelled as he looked down at his now battered friend. "C'mon Minoru, wake up... no pulse.. shit.. shit... " He said as he rubbed his hands together. "Just a small jolt... CLEAR!" He yelled as he gave a shock to his friend's chest, a sputter and a faint pulse came. "Stay with me man... I'm here bro." he said.
