It was a cold autumn evening, the beautiful Boiling Isles sun was setting, the sun here was always so stunning, almost blinding in ways.
Oh right, this is a new journal, I forgot to introduce myself
! I AM LUZ NOCEDA!
I am a currently 14 year old artist, fantasy fan, and aspiring witch, I got stranded in another world bla bla bleh
Anyways, I was sitting in the kitchen with a cup of hot tree eye juice, my mind was basically melting into bliss, Eda was passed out on the couch, once again, she always tried so hard to support us all, she really needs the rest, and she just drank a bunch so it'll probably be good to get it out of her system anyways.
Hooty and King were playing some sort of game outside when King ran through the door screaming and before I could see him clearly he was already on the second floor with hooty going after him, every millimeter they moved they seemed to break something, it was like a nightmare, you could hear every kind of material shattering against the wall or floor or ceiling or teeth or something. Eventually King remembered that he has some sort of voice magic so he let out the loudest fucking screech I have ever seen, it reaches so far that it shattered parts of the living room, and to an extent even the kitchen, and Eda was still fast asleep, like the hard working wonderful mom she is. I immediately went upstairs to investigate, the further I got up the more the floorboards were creaking and cracking, the third to last one completely broke as soon as I stepped on it, I was extremely freaked out for a second but I just had to pull my leg up out of the floor, I looked down and the area below the floor seemed to go down for miles and miles and miles, like an elevator shaft. I knew as soon as i got up there those two would be in so much trouble
After a second of frustration I shouted "KIIIIIIIIIIING, HOOTY!" and it felt as if the whole world was shaking in anger, I started running around the second floor to try and find where they were but I kept falling through floors and running into walls and random pieces of furniture and ceiling and random items Eda has collected over the years kept hitting my face or shoulders or whatever, eventually I just started shouting and stomping my foot, I punched a wall and it hurt really bad so I yelled out profanities and stuff about how my boo boo hurts until I got the motivation to keep going.
I found the two bastards hissing at eachother and backing away, I stormed in with pure annoyance and anger in my eyes, Hooty and King were so caught up in their little game that they didnt notice me, so I slammed my foot onto the floor and they immediately looked at me, but then my foot once again smashed a piece of the floor and my left leg (my left, not your left, so most likely your right) went straight through the floor, I pulled my leg out and let out the loudest cry of anger that i think either of them had ever heard, I shouted at them "YOU LITTLE SHITHEADS ARE IN SO MUCH FUCKING TROUBLE, YOU DESTROYED NEARLY THE ENTIRE HOUSE", King and Hooty had looks of shame and fear in their faces and hooty quietly said with hesitation and a clear gulp in his throat just beforehand "sorry, Luz", it seemed like they were going to say more but I quickly interrupted with "sorry isnt going to cut it, hooty!, you destroyed nearly the entire house, now I have to go learn woodworking and figure out how to fix everything", the two demons seemed speechless, they both walked away with a very sad tone.
I panicked for a few minutes walking around the living room in circles trying to figure out what to do, I eventually let out a frustrated yell that was probably heard by everybody in the house. Immediately after, Eda woke up, her eyelids shuffled back and forth between open and closed for a bit before opening for good, she let out a quick yawn and took a confused look around the place, it felt like there was a spike in my chest as soon as I realized she woke up, she quietly muttered a few confused words and then I quickly said "sorry, well um, uhhh…. Hooty and King were playing outside and then they ran into the house and started wrecking everything and the house nearly fell apart and I yelled at them and now I have to fix this and I don't know AAA-" I was cut off by Eda "woah, its ok Luz, I'll help, I have experience in this kind of thing, after all I did help you build that portal last week, "oh yeah… the portal'' I said quietly, almost as if I didn't want her to hear me. Eda stood up and pushed her back into place, she said "whelp, better get to work, all of this damage ain't going to fix itself, come down to the basement with me". She opened the basement door and I followed behind her, the basement was dark and creepy but it isn't really bad when I'm spending time with Eda, as we looked around old boxes for the stuff we needed Eda found her old toolbox and some wood, stone, and a few other building materials, she then said "hey Luz, i can't find the wrench in here, can you find where it is", I replied "sure thing" and started looking around, after about 15 seconds I spotted something that looked like a wrench and said "this one?" in a slightly loud voice while holding it up so Eda can see, Eda swiftly replied "yup, that's the one", i tossed it over to her and she caught it midair, she mumbled something under her breath but I couldn't tell what it was, I asked her and she said " "weak nerd arms", huh", I chuckled a bit and continued to help her whenever she needed help finding something, eventually we got upstairs and got to work, I mostly helped with handing her stuff and putting the occasional few nails in but once we got to the bathroom area we were in awe at how badly it was damaged, "yeesh, this is going to need some work" Eda said in that slightly annoyed tone. It mostly went the same from there until Eda said "hey I'm busy with the toilet, could you fix that burst pipe over there, looks pretty nasty", I was somewhat surprised by the fact that I was asked to do something like that completely on my own, and even more shock that somebody trusted me to do it, I got to work on sealing up the broken pipe, eda looked over with a face of pride and said" good work, i'm really proud of you kid", my face lit up like discord light mode, Eda smiled and went back to work on the rest of the house. She never asked me to do something completely on my own like that for the rest of it, but I didn't forget when she did that.
After six hours of exhausting, mind bending work that almost fried our brains, we both walked over to the couch and fell down on it to rest almost simultaneously. Eda looked at me and said "you know, you've really grown over the course of your stay here, I said "really?!", and Eda replied "yeah, of course, you started off as some kid with an overactive imagination who always thought of yourself before anyone else, now look at you, helping your new mom fix up the house after being severely damaged me some demons, thats an incredibly selfless task that you could've just refused, but you didn't, you've learned things over the course of your stay here and you've become a much better person, and for that I cannot explain just how glad I am to be your mother, I almost shed a tear, I was so moved by Eda's words, I said something along the lines of "and i couldn't have done it without you".
Eda layed down further on the couch and closed her eyes, I soon followed along and dropped down onto the cushiony sofa and closed my eyes, me and Eda started moving until we were hugging each other, almost like instinct, eventually I guess I hit her hair and my head dived into it, it was incredibly fluffy, and it didn't feel suffocating at all to be in, all of the hairs were so well made that it let oxygen into her hair, it felt amazing just having my head in here while cuddling my mom, it was the coziest thing ive ever experienced, I cracked a huge smile as i had my eyes closed and Eda's wings wrapping around me as I was hugging her, and my head was sunken into her soft, cozy, large, pocket dimension hair. And we both drifted off to sleep in the peace of the night.
