Prologue
Destiny Islands were named after the star-shaped Paopu fruit the palm trees bear, which are rumored to intertwine the destinies of any who share one. Some find the concept romantic, but others existentially dread the possibility of predestination, and consequent illusion of free will. Most couples partake in the romantic ritual, while others choose to take their relationships' fate into their own hands, and some individuals share the fruit with anyone who they want to keep in their lives, but few share it nonchalantly with whoever, as they don't believe the rumors.
Rem happens to be one of these nonbelievers, but, today, she will unknowingly intertwine her destiny with that of a mysterious marauder.
