AN: The following is fiction based in the Naruto world, I don't nor do I really wish to own Naruto or any characters, themes or settings from the original manga and anime series.
Ever since I was born, my mind has had an unexplained need for blood on my hands.
Not in the literal sense, but metaphorically.
What I'm trying to say is that my mind needed me to kill.
My name's Haruno Botan, and I killed my first victim at 4 years old, my twin sister, Sakura.
She was nice enough, but when you see your sister attempting to climb up a tree after you, who doesn't have the urge to push them down, eh?
Okay, so maybe I'm not normal, but on the bright side, nobody found out it was anything more than an accident.
At age 8 I started at the Shinobi Academy, and it was the most fun I'd ever had.
Okay, so the first year wasn't, since it was nearly entirely theory and body conditioning, meaning exercise. But after that, it was amazing.
The academy instructors for my class, Iruka-sensei and Mizuki-sensei had us do weekly spars against one another, where I really shined.
I consistently got 2nd place in these little mini-tournaments, occasionally grabbing first from Uchiha Sasuke, but that was rare, especially so after the massacre, when he wholeheartedly put his entire soul into his training.
I, however, wasn't really one for training, so my grades weren't great, I preferred practical experience, so I often went out into the woods and hunted small animals, slitting their throats purely for sport.
It was great.
During the third year of the academy, we started working with chakra, which interested me mildly, I liked the basic academy three since they would be useful for the things I was interested in, distraction, Infiltration and avoidance, but anything more flashy or complex wouldn't interest me greatly, due to my preference of killing quietly, usually unsuspected and from behind.
I suppose now is as good a time as any to tell you about my second, human, kill. It was another kid, of course, my age, 10, during my third year at the academy. It was a simple job really, I had the urge, so I committed, luring him into the more forested area near the back of the yard, and quickly slitting his throat with a kunai.
I knew it would be easy to get caught, but I was extra careful, I made sure it was at the later end of lunch break when most people were either inside or getting ready to go inside. I was especially careful not to get any blood on me, and also cleaned the kunai on his clothing, as to not leave any evidence on me.
Apparently, it's easy to get away with murder in Konoha, who'd have guessed?
Me. I did, because just a week afterwards, I did the same thing, and once again the week after.
Turns out, they took notice that time, and I could tell, even though they said nothing.
How could I? It's simple, usually, the instructors would remain inside during breaks, but they had started to remain outside, watching the students.
Well, needless to say, this annoyed me, but it wasn't a large issue, I could just go back to hunting small animals instead of humans.
