Neku swore Joshua was trying to apologize.
He wasn't quite sure how Shibuya's Composer always knew when he was about to die, but he was greatful for the assist.
Especially after the incident involving the gang shooting that Neku had the unfortunate luck of getting in the middle of unintentionally.
He was simply going home after school, when suddenly three gang members tore down the block he was walking through, guns blazing. Three more came from the opposite direction, also shooting. The two groups crossed in front of the startled teenager, and he swore that he was about to re-enter the UG by bullet...again. He closed his eyes, waiting to be made into swiss cheese by the pelting lead...
But not a single bullet touched him. Not even a graze.
Curious, Neku opened his eyes and saw something that he would remember for the rest of his life.
There were indeed bullets all around his body...but they were suspended in the air, as if time around him had stopped. He knew it hadn't, because other things in the area were still going, including the shooting. Even that stopped once the two feuding gangs turned the corner and were out of his sight.
Freaked out, the orange-haired teen slowly stepped out of the middle of the 'bullet wall'. As soon as he was clear, it was as if time resumed, and the lead went speeding off into a nearby wall.
Neku's eyes went wide. He'd seen this before!
Joshua?
