NOTE: This story is a sequel to Pyrrha Fantasy: Crisis Core. You need to read that story to fully understand what is going on. But a little warning. It's an outdated story so don't be surprised if you notice several flaws.
Welcome Back, Pyrrha Nikos.
When it comes to warriors, there is always one certainty. Death always catches up to them at some point. This was the case with Pyrrha Nikos. She used to be a student at Beacon Academy and formerly a member of Team JNPR. But during the fall of Beacon, Pyrrha engaged in battle with Cinder Fall, who had gained full possession of the Fall Maiden's powers. Despite her valiant efforts, Pyrrha was defeated. Cinder murdered her shortly thereafter by shooting her through the chest with an arrow at point-blank range, before disintegrating her remains and scattering her ashes. But her death was not for nothing, as it motivated the remaining members of Team JNPR join Ruby Rose in her journey to Haven in order to track down Cinder and her faction.
But Pyrrha left a bigger impact on Renmant than she might've been aware of. A memorial statue of Pyrrha is erected in Argus, where she trained before attending Beacon, and people will continue to miss her for many years to come. While others will try to live up to her legacy. Something Pyrrha might've been proud of.
But while death is normally the end of a heroes' journey, Pyrrha proved to be more special than anyone would've guessed. After her death, her soul was retrieved by the God of Light. Pyrrha was given a second chance at life and her body along with her weapons were restored, allowing her to enter a brand new world. In this world she would meet a young man named Zack, who somehow helped her get in to SOLDIER, elite super soldiers, enhanced by the power of Mako.
To say Pyrrha's life with SOLDIER was hard would be an massive understatement. So many things happened to her, she would even enter an relationship with the Legendary Sephiroth. But one night would destroy her new life forever and she would experience first hand just how evil the people she worked for was, she would even be confronted by the death of her new best friend and brother figure, Zack, something that would effect her forever.
Ever since then, she's been traveling around. But now she was returning to a place she hadn't been to for a while now. Midgar, the capital city and power base of the Shinra Electric Power Company. Powered by eight giant mako reactors that were erected by Shinra, Midgar is known as the city of mako. Rising 300 meters above ground level, the steel plates surrounding the Shinra Building offer comfortable residential districts for its well-heeled citizens. Below these plates, however, are the dark and derelict slums for the impoverished.
"After all this time, I somehow find myself back here" Pyrrha mused to herself as she was sitting one her motorcycle. She was not to happy about this, since after everything that happened, she swore she would make life difficult for Shinra, by destroying as many of their operations as she could. She was thinking about going after the Midgar reactors, but assaulting one on her own could be to much even for her. Not to mention the amount of people that could get hurt by it.
She then puts her helmet on and continues to drive. Soon enough she arrived at Sector 8, one of the eight sectors that divide up the city. The sector is known for Loveless Street, its main area of business and art, located in the business district. There, the Genesis fan club meets and performances of the epic Loveless musical take place. Sector 8 gives a glimpse of life in Midgar that those who escape the poverty of the slums can enjoy.
Pyrrha had a bad history with Genesis, so she wasn't going to check that out. She parked her motorcycle out of sight. She knew it was risky to come back here, since Shinra is hunting her. But with any luck, they wouldn't believe she would go back to their capital city. So one could say Pyrrha was hiding in plain sight. The reason she even came back was because she had been on the road for so long and wanted to relax in a city for a while.
"Back where it all began" Pyrrha mused as walked through the streets. She wondered if she should try to visit Aerith and Nora, a little girl with the same name as Pyrrha's old teammate. Pyrrha shook her head "No, I can't do that. The Turks are likely still guarding Aerith. Going there would cause more harm than good".
She sighed to herself. Being on the run leaves you with a few friends. Still she looked around the city and could see the Sector 1 reactor in the distance. If only people knew the damage it caused to the planet, while they were just enjoying the energy it provides them. But there was nothing Pyrrha could do about it at the moment. She found the nearest hotel and rented a room.
She entered her room and took the chance to have a much needed shower. She sighed as the hot water washed away all the dirt and sweat from her body. She hasn't had the chance to wash herself for weeks now. Being on the run left little time to relax. But no one in Shinra knows where she is now, and are hopefully still looking for her outside of Midgar. Pyrrha turned of the shower and grabbed as shower. She entered her bed room, still drying herself of, seeing no need to cover herself as she was alone.
She put her towel to the side and picked up her clothes, but her nose twisted in disgust "Note to self: Buy new clothes that doesn't smell like 100 sweaty boys".
She shook her head, and just decided to sleep naked for the night. She was confident nothing would happen. So she got in her bed and drifted of to sleep... but during the night she was tossing and turning several times as flashes of a certain someone kept appearing in front of her. She tried to ignore them but it was very difficult... and when the man reached out his hand, Pyrrha sat up in her bed, breathing hard and sweating a lot. She looked around and realized it was just another bad trip down dark memories. Something she had been experiencing many times already.
She put a hand on her head in frustration "One night sleep... is that really so much to ask for? Just one night sleep!".
But sleep stopped being her main concern as she felt her room shake and a bright light in the distance shined through her window. Pyrrha jumped out of bed and ran up to her window, not caring that she risked flashing anyone who looks at her window. She saw the reactor... it has been blown up! And the damages had spread to the city. Pyrrha threw her dirty clothes back on before jumping out the window and began rushing towards the disaster area.
Once she arrived she saw several buildings had been damaged, and people were struggling with trying to process what just happened. Soon an Announcement was heard "Attention all citizens. Attention all citizens. This is an alert from the Shinra Emergency Operations Center. Unidentified intruders have detonated a bomb inside Mako Reactor 1. Multiple explosions have been confirmed, as well as ongoing fires. In response, a disaster warning has been issued in Sectors 1 and 8. Structures in the area are at high risk of collapse, rendering the entire sector hazardous".
Pyrrha was horrified by what she saw. Sure she hated Shinra, but these people didn't deserve to suffer for it. Whoever blew up the reactor went way to far. Pyrrha decided to go and see if she could help anyone that might be trapped. Doing this would risk her getting caught by Shinra, but that was a risk she was willing to take. She ran in to the burning parts of the city, anyone trapped by the flames would have a much harder time getting out. But the fire made memories flash through Pyrrha's head. This wasn't the first time she had seen buildings burn and innocent suffer because of an attack by someone insane.
She tried to shake those memories out of her head as she continued through the rubble "Hello! Is anyone here?! Anyone trapped!? Hello!".
She didn't rechive any answers. She hoped it was because the people had evacuated. But she feared it could also mean that anyone trapped here didn't survive. Not a feeling she wanted to give much thought to. But some falling rubble almost hit her. A building was growing more unstable and began collapsing more and more. Normally dodging it would've been easy, but a surprise explosion from a fuel tank sent Pyrrha on her back, and some rubble landed on her. Something like that would've killed a normal human. Luckily, Pyrrha was no ordinary woman.
"Damn..." She cursed as she pushed the rubble of and sat up "Why does these things always happen...?".
"Pyrrha..." Came an all to familiar voice.
Pyrrha's eyes became wide as she slowly looked up "Sephiroth...".
The tall silver haired man smiled down at her "You remember the fires, don't you Pyrrha? The flames that threatens to consume this entire world".
"Flames you started!" Pyrrha snapped.
"Did I? Or maybe the flames were already there. And you just couldn't see it before" Sephiroth said.
"What do you mean?" Pyrrha demanded.
"Come now Pyrrha, I know you can feel it. Our beloved planet is dying. Slowly. Silently. Painfully. You can feel it, can't you Pyrrha?" Sephiroth asked.
Pyrrha was silent for a moment "Yes... I can feel it. But I am doing what I can to ease the pain".
"Easing the pain is not the same as getting rid of it. Were the planet to die, so many things would be lost. And out of all the things I would loath to lose, it would be you" Sephiroth said.
Pyrrha got back up and glared at him "I've told you before. Whatever was between us died when you destroyed Nibelheim. There is nothing left between us now".
Sephiroth chuckled "We both know that isn't true. Our bond is far to strong for that. Remember it Pyrrha".
Pyrrha suddenly grabbed her head in pain as memories began to flood her head "No! Stop it! Stop it!".
"Remember" Sephiroth said.
Pyrrha felt the pain grow as she shook her head "Get out of my head! Get out! Get out!".
Sephiroth smiled "In your heart and in your soul. You know our love never died, and it never will. We are meant to be together. You will always belong to me".
"NO!" Pyrrha screamed as she fell to her knees.
Sephiroth walked up to her before lifting her chin to make her look at him "Soon, my love. You will rule this world by my side. I'm looking forward to the day when we spread our wings and fly across a perfect new world".
Sephiroth finally vanished, leaving Pyrrha shaking. She slowly got up and decided to just leave. So much for laying low in Midgard for a while. But as she was heading towards the area she left her bike, she noticed someone in the distance. Her eyes became wide as it was someone she hadn't seen for a very long time.
"Cloud..." Pyrrha whispered to herself.
Looks like she would be having another change of plans. If Cloud was here, Pyrrha needs to stay and find out what exactly is going on here.
And just like that, a new adventure was waiting for her.
.
The long awaited sequel to Pyrrha Fantasy: Crisis Core has finally arrived. Sorry it took so long and sorry that the chapter is rather short. It was only meant to set up the story, so I will do my best to make the following chapters longer.
And for those that wonder. Yes this takes place in the Remake, since that game gives me a lot more to work with.
.
With that, I hope you are happy that the sequel is finally here and I hope it will be worth the wait down the line. Please tell me what you think.
