Chapter 1

What happened? What was going on? One minute he was running with katana in hand to go save Kyojuro Rengoku and the next he was back on the ground. Tanjiro got up, using his arms to hold him up. He looked up to see the Upper Three demon Akaza and Kyojuro Rengoku standing feet apart from each other.

"Mr. Rengoku... " Tanjiro froze. His scent. The Flame Hashira's scent was familiar yet different all the same.

"Well Kyojuro, how do you feel?" Akaza asked Kyojuro.

"How dare you... how dare you turn me into a demon without my approval!" Kyojuro screamed at him, his katana in hand, ready to continue to fight the Upper demon.

Tanjiro froze once again. Mr. Rengoku... is a demon!?

"Well, now that your wounds have healed and you're much stronger now, why don't you join with us." Akaza replied.

"No. I would never betray the Demon Slayer Corp! I have a mission and I will see it fulfilled, demon or no demon!" Kyojuro replied back.

With his great speed, Kyojuro went to slash at Akaza but Akaza leaped out of the way. He landed a few feet away from Kyojuro.

"I won't be your opponent for today. Your opponent will be the sun." With that, Akaza ran off.

Tanjiro was now on his feet. He overheard what Akaza said and realization dawned on him. The sun! Mr. Rengoku is a demon! He can't be in the sun anymore!

"Mr. Rengoku!" Tanjiro ran over to Kyojuro and Kyojuro turned to look his way. "You need to stay away from the sun! Hurry!"

"Indeed, young Kamado." Kyojuro replied.

Together, Tanjiro and Kyojuro stayed in the shade, safe from the sun. Inosuke joined them after he was told to make sure the passengers, Zenitsu, and Nezuko were okay.

"So, you're a demon now." Tanjiro said, looking up at Kyojuro.

"Yes, that is correct. The Upper Three demon turned me into one without me knowing. Even I didn't see that coming." Kyojuro said.

"Will the other Hashiras still accept you as part of the Demon Slayer Corp?" Tanjiro asked.

"That depends on their decision. They will most likely want to test me to see if I will hurt another human." Kyojuro said.

"Well, we can't travel through the day and I don't think you'll be able to fit in the box with Nezuko so we'll have to wait til night." Tanjiro said.

"Then it's settled. We'll wait til nightfall." Kyojuro said.

"I would have to explain to Zenitsu of what happened." Tanjiro said to Inosuke.

"You know he's going to freak out, right." Inosuke said.

Tanjiro sighed. "Yes, I know."
