GKC: What's up, everyone! This is GKC here bringing you a new crossover between Mobile Suit Gundam and Final Fantasy 14.
KRD: And it's me, Kamen Rider Duelist helping him out! I gotta say, this story has me interested! And let me tell ya, the Gundams in this fic are badass!
GKC: Yep! In fact, since this is based in the world of Hydaelyn, the Gundams are named after notable summons from the game. However, in this AU, magitek is taken to the next step by creating space colonies and allowing the people to explore the stars.
KRD: Not only that, this AU will have more militaristic presence than you can ever imagine possible. So expect a lot of wardrobe changes!
GKC: But for now, let's get on with the disclaimer, shall we?

*BONK!*
Fool! This isn't Star Trek!
Oh fine you party pooper…
The world of Hydaelyn…
A planet teeming with the magical element known as Aether. A vibrant planet blessed by the light of the Crystal. Amid azure seas, encompassing the westernmost of the Three Great Continents there lies a realm embraced by gods and forged by heroes. Her name… Eorzea. It is made up of several landmasses, the largest of which are Aldenard, Ilsabard, Othard, Meracydia, and the New World. Only the realms of Eorzea, the Old World, and the Far East have been completely revealed.
In the time of the distant past, magitek was experimented and built from the days of the Allagan Empire. Technology that was able to bind magical creatures and god-like beings to render them under their control.
But now during the Seventh Umbral Era, technology has reached new heights in the form of space travel. Mankind, which had once been at war with each other for so long, managed to come together in a show of good faith in order to make their lifelong dream come true. Crystals, fueled by aetherial energies, became fuel for spacecraft and before long they became the essence of life for Man's greatest achievement: Space Colonies.
A total of twelve space colonies had been constructed before the beginning of the Seventh Umbral Era. Each colony housed thousands or hundreds of thousands of citizens within their cradles. It was a time of peace and prosperity. But such a Golden Age… would soon come to an end. And this utopia… would become a dystopia.
In the few years of prosperous peace that radiated all of Eorzea, the land separate from the city-states made plans for conquest. The Imperial Nation of Garlemald, an empire of humans who lack the ability to use magic and resort to using magitek to promote their warmongering ways. The Empire waged a bloody war that called all of Eorzea's free people together to resist their would-be conquerors, dubbing themselves the Eorzean Alliance. Unfortunately, it proved to be a dreadful war as many nations before Eorzea were conquered and melded into the Garlean Empire such as Doma and Ala Mhigo. Not even the space colonies were safe from the Empire. Five had already been claimed while the rest remained in control of the Alliance. Warfare had changed from swords and spears to piloting great metal behemoths classified only as Mobile Suits.
And so, the Eorzean Alliance agreed on making one last ditching effort to turn the tide of war, and that was to build a new kind of weapon.
Gundam.
They are an advanced, high performance mobile suit, constructed to be much more powerful than the standard production of mobile suits, and equipped with the latest experimental technology available at the time of their construction. These machines, fashioned and crafted by Cid Garland, were to be the vanguards in the war against the Imperial forces. However, during one of the bloodiest battles in the war, a great calamity had brought its wrath down upon the planet in the form of the ancient black magic spell, Meteor. Garlemald had studied relentlessly in harnessing the spell's power. However, they neglected the dangerous effects in activating the spell. It was sent on a collision course to the planet, seeking to destroy the entirety of Eorzea. In a last ditch effort to prevent a destructive bloodbath, a Sharlayan Archon named Louisoux gathered his fellow Archons and bid them pray to the Twelve Gods of Eorzea. In desperation, the Twelve enacted one of the most powerful binding spells to stop Meteor in its path. Thus, rendering the devastating spell moot. But in the aftermath of the battle and Meteor's pause, the Gundams were missing.
None knew what happened to the machines, only that they were lost in the chaos.
But… that is where our story begins. Five years later after the Seventh Umbral Calamity.
[Space Colony Tiamat - Eorzean Alliance Territory]
The agricultural colony, Tiamat. A peaceful colony that knew not the ways of war.
Amongst the many citizens of Eorzea's free people, a young Midlander Hyur man was busy tinkering with a small mechanical object. With one wrench in his mouth and the other tightening a screw, he worked diligently on it before lifting up a lens piece from his goggles. "Alright, that should do it." He nodded to himself in satisfaction.
The young man possessed neck-length raven black hair with crimson highlights that colored around the edges of his hair, crimson red eyes, and light skin. He was dressed in a simple red t-shirt, black shorts, and white socks.
This young man is Sorom Jaeger, an orphan who took many odd jobs in order to pay the bills while also dealing with school.
"Sorom, are you in here?" A female voice called out from within his apartment.
"I'm in my bedroom, Yukino," Sorom responded while he continued to fix up the machine.
The door to his bedroom opened, revealing a Miqo'te girl with long snow white hair, crystal blue eyes, the markings on her cheeks were greyish brown, and flawless pale skin. She wore a blue kimono with a dark blue obi belt that hid her impressive figure and black geta sandals.
"You're still working on that contraption?"
"It's one of my projects, Yukino. I can't help it if I want to finish it up." He told his childhood friend.
"You've been working on that for over a week."
"And I'll keep working on it until I'm done." Sorom stated. He tightens a screw into the device and takes a small spherical covering, placing it over the machinery. "Alright, let's give it a test run." He flipped a small switch on the back as the machine's eyes suddenly flashed a bit before blaring a soft red.
"Haro! Haro!" The ball-shaped robot flapped its 'ears' in excitement. "Hello, Sorom! Hello, Sorom!"
"Yes! It works!" Sorom cheered.
"What… is that?" Yukino blinked in amazement.
"This, my dear kitty friend," The young man gestured to the bouncing machine. "Is Haro! The world's first robotic pet!"
"A robotic pet, eh?" Yukino eyed the robot in question as she circled around it. "Well… it certainly looks like someone would want to keep it as a pet."
"Yup! And now I can make many more and fetch myself a pretty Gil a plenty." Sorom grinned.
"Haro! Haro! Pretty Gil! Pretty Gil! Sorom rich man!" Haro said, bouncing up and down.
"Okay, okay, tone it down, Haro." Sorom told the small robot.
"Well, are you going to present it? Your invention has to be patented after all." Yukino pointed out. "Not to mention you'd have to get a license in order to properly make these robotic pets for a business and-"
"Yukino, you're rambling again." Sorom pointed out.
"Huh? Oh, ehehehe…" Yukino laughed nervously. "So… what now?"
*Grumble*
Sorom looked down at his stomach with a tinge of red on his cheeks, "Uh, now I get something to eat."
"What would you do without me?" Yukino sighed, shaking her head. "Stay there. I'll cook something up for you."
"Ah, you're the best, Yukino! And that Doman cuisine is delicious!" Sorom compliments the Miqo'te girl with a comically joyful smile on his face.
"Yeah, just sit tight." Yukino rolled her eyes with a playful smile before going downstairs to cook him his favorite.
"Yukino, pretty! Yukino, pretty!" Haro chirped as it bounced up and down happily.
"Yeah… she is…" Sorom said with a content sigh.
LINE BREAK
Several miles from the space colony, a lone ship approached it under silent running. The ship is a battleship-class vessel known as a Gration-class ship. Emblazoned on its dark grey surface was the insignia of the Garlean Empire's XIVth Legion.
Standing at the bridge of the spacecraft was the captain of the ship, dressed in the officer's uniform for the Imperial Space Fleet. He had short-cut brown hair, blue eyes, tan skin, and possessed the 'third eye' on his forehead like all pure-blooded Garleans. This man is Milus rem Caucusa, captain of the Excellency, his ship.
"Can't believe the Black Wolf himself would give me this mission. Though I find it hard to believe that those savages from Eorzea could ever hope to turn the tide with some nonexistent mobile weapon." Milus said to himself, watching the stars pass by while his ship drifted closer to SC Tiamat.
"Captain, we're within range of the colony." One of the bridge officers informed his CO. "What are your orders?"
Milus looked back at the man, "Scramble the mobile suits. If there really is a weapon that the Eorzeans are building in secret in that colony then we have to either capture it… or destroy it."
"Yes sir." The bridge officer said, before pressing a button on the console. "All hands to Level 1 Battle Stations. Scramble all mobile suits."
Down below in the Excellency's mobile suit deck, several humanoid machines colored black, red, and bronze were being equipped with automatic weapons, blades, shields, and even rocket launchers. The pilots were dressed in black-red pilot suits with the helmets having a dark purple visor. They all floated towards their respective mobile suits and once they entered the cockpits, the doors on the chest closed and the mono-eyes of the machines lit up to life. The computers and monitors then turned on as they went online.
The Imperial mobile suits were all IMPR-X01 Pious, the basic footsoldier for the Garlean Imperial Mobile Suit units.
"Mobile Suit team, you are cleared for launch! Glory to the Empire!"
"Glory to the Empire!" The pilots all declared in unison.

"Delicious!" Sorom said with a bright smile as he ate the Behemoth beef ramen that Yukino had made for him. Amongst the spread of food that sat on his dining table were several pork buns, a few strips of meat that looked similar to chocobo wings, deep-fried sweet rolls, a plate of fried rice, and lamb chops.
Yukino watched with a sweatdrop as her friend chowed down on his meal, eating with all the grace of a savage wolf.
"When was the last time you ate?" Yukino asked, almost scared to know.
"What's today?" He pondered while chewing on a pork bun.
"It's Saturday."
"Two weeks." Sorom answered bluntly.
"You could've died!" She cried out.
"Eh, I would've been fine." He said with a shrug.
"That's not okay!"
"I'm eating now, aren't I?" Sorom rolled his eyes.
"Mmm…" Yukino pouted. "Whatever. You better fill up otherwise I won't cook for you for a month."
"No! Anything but that! I couldn't live without your cooking!" Sorom whined.
"Then stop overworking yourself to death."
"Okay, okay," The Hyur teen pouted. "Geez, you're like a mom sometimes…" He then continued scarfing down all the food he could and a few seconds later…
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*
"Hurk!" The young man nearly choked on his food, patting his chest to relieve the stress after he took a drink of water. "What the seven hells was that!?"
"Did a meteor hit the colony?" Yukino wondered.
"Alert! Alert!" Haro warned its master before opening it's small 'mouth' to reveal a projector that showcased an image of security feed from the colony… and the large hole torn into it.
"A hole in the colony?!" Sorom exclaimed in shock. "No way a meteor did something like that!"
The feed from Haro also revealed the perpetrators behind the attack as they entered the colony in droves.
"The Garlean Empire?" Yukino gasped.
"Dammit! Why are they attacking us!? We're neutral!" Sorom snapped, bashing his fist on the table. He stood up from his seat, gathering Haro into his arms. "Yukino, we have to get out of here now."

Meanwhile, during the attack on Space Colony Tiamat, an approaching space vessel with a symbol resembling an eye in the center of a rising dawn plastered on its surface was approaching the colony.
The spaceship itself was a huge white space assault ship. Its armament featured blaster cannons, beam guns, CIWS, linear cannons and several missile launchers. Being the first ship of its class, not only could it travel in space, but in the air and on water, it could also submerge and cruise underwater. This was the famed new battleship that the Eorzean Alliance had constructed, the Revival. Its true power lies hidden in the ship's cavernous hangar bay: it supplies room for ten Mobile Suits.
The captain of the Revival is a young Highlander Hyur woman in her mid to late twenties with blonde hair that she keeps in a ponytail with long bangs hanging down the sides of her face, sapphire blue eyes, and light skin. She is dressed in a pink top that showcased her toned midriff, brown culottes, fingerless gloves, and brown boots. Her name is Minfilia Warde, the leader of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, an organization that works to help bring peace to all of Eorzea and her colonies while following the ways of the Twelve. While they work as an extension of the Eorzean Alliance, they are independent and possess advanced technology.
Like any citizen of the free lands of Eorzea, Minfilia sought to keep the people safe from the threat of tyranny and bloodshed. Hence why she and her crew took this mission to secure a recovered weapon from before the Seventh Umbral Calamity.
"Deep in thought, Minfilia?" A charming voice inquired.
The captain looked to her right side, spotting her XO and leader of the MS team aboard the Revival, Thancred Waters. He was a Hyur of medium height with ash-blonde hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. He wears a white long-sleeved shirt covered by black tunic with leather belts over his left shoulder and a black belt on his waist. He wears white fingerless gloves and greenish pants with heavily padded black leather boots.
Minfilia smiled at her oldest friend, "In a manner of speaking, Thancred. It's just…" She paused when she grasped her head as if in pain. Suddenly, a vision appeared in her mind…
A burning city…
...an army of Imperial mobile suits…
...a shadowed mobile suit with dragon wings and glowing yellow eyes.
The vision suddenly ended, causing the captain to gasp.
"What's wrong?" Thancred asked.
"Tiamat is under attack!"
"What?"
"All hands, Level 2 Battle Stations! I repeat, all hands, Level 2 Battle Stations!" The captain repeated on the intercom.
"I'll get Yda and Yugiri suited up. Give us the word to launch when we're ready." Thancred said as he took off out of the room.
Why? Why did it have to happen now?
In her line of work, she knew that at some point or another, peace will eventually be disturbed and they will have to fight in order to keep the peace.
They have been fighting in hopes that the war will end swiftly, but that proved to be a lie. It was dragging on. Perhaps maybe too long. Eorzera's history was forged by the flames of war, tempered by the hammer of ambitions and ideals, while set on the anvil of time that kept constant. And this war was no exception. Granted, it will take time before peace can be made, but there was no telling of when it will ever come. There was so much hatred between the two races of humanity, that people begin to doubt whether or not this war will ever end.
The only thing they could do was hope and pray.
Minfilia hoped that the citizens of the colony would be safe until they arrived…
LINE BREAK
Sorom tugged the hand of Yukino along as they fled from the destructive force of the Garlean Empire. Haro was safely tucked away in a backpack that the young man brought along.
It was chaos.
It ensues people in many conflicts. Whether it's fighting or fleeing for their lives from terror, everything is and will be in complete disarray. There is only so much order can do to calm the masses, but for this particular situation, there is very little order. People were running about, fleeing for their lives as the Mobile Suits shot at anything that was military related and some were unfortunate to be caught in the explosions. Warning alarms have been ringing non-stop and evacuations to the nearest shelter are all but impossible.
"Dammit, we're never going to make it to a shelter if this keeps up!" Sorom cursed with gritted teeth. "Damn those Garleans."
"Sorom…" Yukino said worriedly.
"Don't worry. We'll be safe. We just have to keep moving." Sorom assured.
*BOOOOOOOOM*
An explosion ripped right in front of the two teens as they bore witness to an Alliance mobile suit equipped with a simple sword and shield battling a Garlean Pious.
"A Gladiator!" Sorom exclaimed, recognizing the model of the EA mobile suit. The Gladiator brought up its shield as it defended against a barrage of bullets from the Pious's machine gun. It then ran towards the Pious as the bullets continued spraying. It brought out its sword then swung at the Pious. The Garlean mobile suit blocked the attack with its rifle, sacrificing its range weapon in order to punch its Eorzean foe in the face, knocking it directly into a candy shop.
"No, my favorite candy store!" Yukino cried out.
"Forget it! C'mon, keep going!" Sorom shouted, as the two childhood friends kept running.
The Pious took out a handheld axe as the blade glowed red hot with heat. It raised up its weapon and brought it down on the Gladiator, directly gouging out its cockpit and the pilot inside. Sorom could barely hold his anger back as the Garleans slaughtered everything in their path. It didn't matter if it was military personnel or civilians that got caught in the crossfire. To them, Eorzeans were all nothing but barbarians. "If only I had power…" He said to himself.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOM!*
"Yukino!" Sorom exclaimed as he hugged her tightly as an explosion rang out nearby causing them to roll on the ground before stopping. "You okay?"
"Y-Yeah…"
The crimson-eyed youth looked around for any form of cover before he spotted what looked to be an abandoned warehouse. "Over there! We can use that for shelter!" He gestured at the building. Yukino nodded before the two managed to stand on their feet and ran towards the abandoned warehouse. Once inside, they closed and locked the door. "Alright, we should be safe here."
"Are you sure?" Yukino pondered.
"Not so much. But it's better than nothing."
"Hmmmmm…" Yukino looked around before noticing something strange about the warehouse. Right in the middle of it, was something very huge and it had a large cloth over whatever this giant object could be "Hey Sorom, look at that!"
"Haro!" Sorom's robot pet suddenly jumped out of his backpack and rolled over to the tarp-covered object.
"Haro, get back here!" Sorom called out, but it was no use.
"Gundam! Gundam! Gundam!" It exclaimed, jumping up and down.
"Huh?" The young man raised a brow in confusion before he approached the small robot. "What are you talking about, Haro? What the seven hells is a Gundam?"
"Gundam here! Gundam here! Beat bad robots! Beat bad robots!"
"Sorom, what's it talking about?" Yukino asked.
Sorom narrowed his eyes as he stared at the tarp then grasped it with both hands, "Only one way to find out." With the help of Yukino, to reveal… a mobile suit?
The mobile suit itself had a human-like appearance but it was covered in black and white armor with the cockpit hatch and the feet being red. The head of the machine seemed humanoid enough save for the white faceplate, the two dimmed eyes, and the golden yellow antenna horns on its forehead. It also had a dragon head-shaped torso along with dragon wings and claws.
"Whoa…" Sorom said with amazement.
"That's a… Gundam?" Yukino got out.
The Haro's eyes then glowed and for some reason it was scanning the mobile suit before jumping up in excitement. "Gundam Bahamut! Gundam Bahamut!"
"Bahamut?" Sorom repeated.
"Like the Primal?" Yukino added.
Taking a leap of faith, the Hyur teen climbed up onto the chassis of the Gundam while Haro bounced after its master. Sorom stared into the lifeless eyes of the mobile suit and pondered, "What are you doing here though?"
"Get in! Get in! Beat bad robots! Beat bad robots!"
"Huh?" Before Sorom could contemplate Haro's strange behavior, the cockpit hatch of the Bahamut suddenly opened, surprising the two childhood friends. "Okay, that's freaky."
"S-Should we get in?" Yukino asked.
"We might as well." Sorom said. "Come on." He stepped toward the hatch as Haro already hopped inside. He waited for his friend to arrive before he assisted her by lowering down near into the cockpit. Once they were in, the cockpit slowly closed itself and suddenly the cockpit lit up with life.
[Initiating Start-up Sequence]
"What the-" Yukino gasped as the control panels all lit up and the monitors in front of them turned on to reveal what was outside of the Gundam. In front of them, the computer was loading up.
Welcome to E.A.M.S.
Eorzean Alliance Mobile Suit Operation System
"It turned on by itself?" Sorom said to himself before a scanner popped out in front of him then shined a red light in front of his pupils.
[Biometrics scanned. Genetic Code registered, locked, and engaged.]
[Primal Aetherial Energy Core online]
A pair of holographic control levers appeared on the pilot seat, surprising Sorom as he gingerly grasped them in his palms. Shockingly, they seemed to be made of hard light material, allowing the young man to grasp and hold them with ease.
[PRG-01 Bahamut ready for launch]
"Whoa… this is awesome." Sorom said in amazement.
"Do you even know how to control this thing?" Yukino asked.
"Honestly, no. But-" Sorom's eyes suddenly widened as his mind suddenly felt numb and the electrical synapses were going into overdrive.
"What's wrong?"
"I… It's weird. I don't know why but… I think I can control it."
"But you said-"
"I know what I said. It's hard to explain but… my mind was suddenly fed data on this mobile suit. For some reason, I now know how to work this thing." Sorom explained.
"Launch! Launch!" Haro chirped as it bounced around in the cockpit.
"Haro, stop moving around. You'll distract me." Sorom told his robot pet. He looked back at Yukino. "Make sure to hold on tight. There's no telling how rough this might get."
"Alright." Yukino nodded.
Sorom looked back towards the control and with a push forward, the Gundam slowly rose up while yellow optics flashed in the darkness.
LINE BREAK
["Any sign of the target?"]
["Negative."]
["Heh, why don't we just destroy the whole colony? We can scavenge through the wreckage for it easily."]
["Don't be a fool. If you destroy the colony, you could destroy the target as well. It needs to be intact!"]
*CRASH!*
Their sensor alarms started ringing loudly as they looked towards the abandoned warehouse that suddenly had its roof fly off and its walls torn down, causing the structure to produce a large dust cloud. It slowly billowed out, but in the dust cloud, there was a large silhouette of a mobile suit, and its yellow eyes glowed menacingly. The pilots were unnerved by the appearance of the new mobile suit, but then their computer detected the Aetherial Energy Signature coming from it.
["Target confirmed! I repeat, target confirmed!"]
["Proceed with capture! We must obtain that mobile suit!"] One of the Garlean pilots informed the rest of their comrades.
"Alright, show me what you got," Sorom said to the Gundam, and the control lit up briefly as if it… responded to him. The teen boy shook off the thought before looking forward. "Sorom Jaeger, Bahamut, heading out!" He said, before gunning the thrusters and it moved forward. The Gundam's thrusters ignited, propelling the mobile suit directly at the Imperial machines. Looking at his screen, he chose the weapon he wanted and then the machine guns mounted in the temples of its head began spraying bullets at the Pious machines.
The Garleans raised their arms to block the bullets, which merely pinged off the armor before the Bahamut slammed right into the lead machine.
"Grrrrrrrrr… this power!" The lead pilot gritted.
"Take this!" Sorom said, before rearing the Bahamut's fist and slamming it into the lead's pilot mobile suit's head with a loud crunch as it caved in. Inside the mobile suit, the lead pilot's camera was destroyed, replacing the screens with static, unable to see anything as the mobile suit crashed into the ground. The Gundam turned around to face the other Pious mobile suits, "Alright, who's next! I'll crush all you Garlean scumbags!"
["To hells with the orders, destroy that monster!"] A Garlean pilot ordered as his Pious opened fire on the Gundam.
"I don't think so." Sorom said as he maneuvered his Gundam to move in a zig-zag pattern to dodge the bullets. When he got close, he reared his fist and did an uppercut to the chin of the second Pious mobile suit, sending it flying. A third Pious pulled out a short sword and tried to stab the Bahamut in the chest. But it was a big mistake as the dragon-head from the Bahamut's chest suddenly opened up and bit the short sword to pieces, rendering it useless.
"Did you do that?" Yukino asked in amazement.
"I wish I did." Sorom answered with equal shock.
The Pious looked down at it's broken blade in what could only be attributed as shock. The clawed hand of the Bahamut grabbed the Garlean mobile suit by the head then kicked it right in the chest, taking the head clean off the body.
"Whoa…" Yukino got out.
"Okay, I definitely didn't do that." Sorom pointed out in shock.
"Of course you didn't. I did."
The two teens paused and looked at one another with a sense of dread.
"You heard that too, right?" Sorom asked his friend.
"Yeah… who… said that?"
"Over here. Look at your screen."
The Hyur boy and the Miqo'te girl followed the source of the voice until they were staring… at the face of a black dragon!?
"Seven hells!" Sorom cried out in shock.
"Calm yourself down, boy. You should be honored that you're talking to a Primal such as I!"
"W-Wait, hold on, you're… the Bahamut?" Yukino asked with hesitation.
"Of course! Who else but I could look as magnificent in black?"
Sorom sweatdropped, "You've got an ego on you…"
"Watch that tone of yours, boy. I can easily reject you as fast as I accepted." Bahamut said. "I sensed something from within. You have the spirit of a warrior. That is why I have chosen you to be my pilot."
"You can't be serious…" Sorom said exasperated.
"Does it look like I'm jesting, boy?"
"Can't tell. Your face looks like it has an eternal scowl."
"But hold on, how come you're here?" Yukino questioned.
"It's a long story. But to make it short, that damn Meteor during the Seventh Umbral Calamity sent me and my siblings flying all over the place and we've been separated ever since."
"Wait, siblings? How many?"
"Nine."
"So there's ten of you altogether!?" Sorom cried out.
"The fact that you're this surprised amazes me…" Bahamut deadpanned.
"The heck is that supposed to mean, you flying gecko!" Sorom exclaimed in comical anger.
"That's black dragon to you, prick!"
"Guys enough arguing! We got more baddies!" Yukino pointed as more Pious mobile suits showed up.
"Shit, I can't fight all of them with just my fists. I need a weapon." Sorom cursed.
"I still have my beam sabers." Bahamut pointed out.
"Why didn't you say that earlier!?" Sorom cried out.
"You never asked."
"…we'll talk later. Right now, let's kick some ass!"
"Hahahaha! I like your spirit, boy!" Bahamut laughed.
"It's Sorom Jaeger, and don't you forget it!"
"Very well, Sorom Jaeger. Use my power to tear your foes to pieces!"
The Gundam brought it's right hand to its hip as a handle juts out, allowing it to grasp it and bring it up. The emitter within the hilt powered on as a bright purplish-pink blade of energy emerged. "Come and get it, you Garlean pricks!"
LINE BREAK
Back to the Revival…
"Do we have a visual of the interior of the colony?" The captain asked.
One of the crew members, a young Elezen boy with long white hair in a ponytail that is held by a blue knot, blue eyes, and pale skin. Despite his feminine appearance, he had a decent amount of boyish charm. He had a large delta-shaped earring on his left ear, a white tunic with matching pants and boots, a blue coat with a black hood and black gloves. This is one of the twins aboard the Revival and the grandson of Louisoux, Alphinaud Leveilleur.
"Unclear, we need physical evidence from our mobile suit team." The boy informed Minfilia.
"Damn… what about visuals on the enemy flagship?"
"Database matches it as the Excellency. A ship from the XIVth Legion." A Miqo'te woman with light brown skin and brown facial markings, light teal eyes, and white hair with two frontal pigtails tied with rings said. She wore a white dalmatica with silver patterns, blue trousers, and black ankle boots. She wears a visual device on her neck that allows her to analyze aetherial activity in the environment. She has the tattoo of the Circle of Knowing on her neck. This is Y'shtola Rhul.
"Of all the ships, it had to be that one." Minfilia clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"We should thank the Twelve that it isn't the Black Wolf's flagship." Alphinaud pointed out.
"You're right. But it's still troublesome all the same." Minfilia said.
"Captain, we just got word from our Mobile Suit Team, Gundam Unit Bahamut is active!" One of the crew members announced.
"What?" Minfilia gasped.
"Impossible, that Gundam has been lost in the Seventh Umbral Calamity. What's it doing all the way hiding out here?" Alphinaud gasped in surprise.
"Have Thancred and his team intercept. Stop any of the Imperial mobile suits from getting their hands on Bahamut!" Minfilia ordered.
"Yes Captain. And what of the Excellency?" Alphinaud asked.
"We'll have to deal with it ourselves until they either retreat or are destroyed."
"Understood. Preparing to engage the Excellency."
LINE BREAK
"Sir, we have an EA ship coming up on our starboard! It's the Revival!" One officer shouted as the alarms were ringing on the bridge.
Milus cursed under his breath, "So those bothersome Scions of the Seventh Dawn have finally made their move." He turned to his crew. "Bring up the energy cannons! Load all anti-air defenses and prepare missile tubes for anti-ship combat!"
"Yes sir!" They said in unison as they typed away on their computers and said weapons were coming online. The energy cannons extended their long barrels, anti-air guns were coming out, and all the missile tubes opened up and said missiles jutted out, waiting to be launched. "Weapons loaded and ready!"
"FIRE!"
The Excellency fired its laser cannons and missile tubes at the Revival.
"Take evasive action!" Minfilia ordered. "Evasion pattern Alpha!"
"Affirmative!" Y'shtola acknowledged the order and maneuvered the ship to avoid the incoming heat.
"Return fire with the impulse guns!"
The Revival aimed short-barreled cannons at the Garlean warship, firing three emerald beams that managed to the portside of its armor.
"Direct hit!" Alphinaud informed the captain.
"Prepare the high-energy cannon! Fire on my command!" Minfilia commanded.
"Sir, direct hit on our port side!" One crew member of the Excellency shouted. "Structural integrity is slowly deteriorating! Decks 8-12 have been sealed off!"
"Gods dammit! Blast those savages to space dust!" Milus shouted.
"FIRE!" Minfilia commanded. An energy cannon mounted on the Revival fired a high-powered beam that sailed through space until it slammed directly at the bow of the ship.
"Direct hit! We're losing power!" One of the men shouted. "We can't take any more hits!"
"Dammit! Have our mobile teams retreat! We're leaving!" Milus ordered.
"But what about-"
"We already confirmed their presence from the mobile suit team." Milus said. "Right now, our priority is escaping! Sound the retreat!"
The Excellency fired what seemed to be flares, two of which were red while another was white.
"They're breaking off, Captain!" Alphinaud said.
"Hold fire, let them go. We've beaten them today." Minfilia ordered. "Have Thancred recover the Bahamut and bring it back aboard."
"Aye ma'am."
LINE BREAK
Back in the colony…
"C'mon! Is that all you got!?" Sorom challenged as the Pious mobile suits surrounding them were slowly backing off.
For half an hour, the Bahamut used the Beam Sabers to incapacitate the Pious mobile suits he had cut down around ten and there were five left. The pilots were getting nervous. This was the power of the Gundam, Bahamut? They knew of the legends, but they bit off more than they could chew.
"Well? I'm waiting! Is the so-called Garlean Empire afraid?" Sorom mocked as he kept the beam sabers up in a defensive yet offensive posture.
Just as they were about to do something, there was a transmission coming from one of the Pious mobile suits. "Yes sir. What? Understood." He said, before the transmission broke off. ["All units, retreat! The Excellency's been hit! Return to base!"]
The five remaining Imperial mobile suits ignited their thrusters and took off towards the hole in the colony, leaving the Gundam by itself.
"They're running?" Sorom raised a brow in surprise.
"Good riddance, I say." Bahamut huffed. "Those guys were rookies. They can't beat a Primal like me."
Just when they thought they had a break, a squad of Gladiators touched down on the ground, surrounding Bahamut and aimed their rifles at him. ["Hands where I can see them!"]
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hey! Hold up!" Sorom cried out.
"We didn't do anything!" Yukino cried out.
"More foes to crush?" Bahamut comments as the Gundam tightens its grip on the beam sabers.
"Bahamut, don't be hasty. These are EA Gladiators, the good guys? Okay~? Let's not go on a rampage here." Sorom cautioned.
"They have guns pointed at us."
"Even so, they're the good guys, and we need to behave!"
"Please, Bahamut? Sir?" Yukino pleaded.
"Haaaaaaa… you're lucky the lass is a good kitty… Got a soft spot for kitties…" Bahamut groaned, before the Beam Sabers receded back and the Gundam raised its hands. "Alright you whippersnappers, make it quick, cause I don't wanna be involved any longer than we have to."
Another Gladiator, this one seemingly heavily modified and marked with a symbol for an eye plastered on the shoulders landed in front of the Gundam. It looked at the EA Gladiators with its bright green visor, ["Stand down, gents. This is official Scion business."]
The leader of the EA mobile suit team stepped forward, ["On whose authority?"]
["Lady Minfilia as well as some approval from the three High Leaders of the Eorzean Alliance."] The Scion Gladiator pilot answered.
"Uh… who's this?" Yukino asked.
["Pilot, if you would be so kind as to step out of Bahamut, we can talk this out like civilized citizens, hm?"] The Scion Gladiator offered.
"Well, Sorom?" Yukino asked, looking at the boy.
"Might as well. We need to be in their good graces if we wanna live." Sorom said. With the press of a button, the doors to the cockpit opened revealing the two teens and Haro. The pilots were no doubt shocked that the one piloting it was a child. Placing a foot on a triangle handle that was attached to the roof of the cockpit, holding onto Yukino, a rope slowly descended down from the cockpit to the ground before they got off.
["Well, that's something you hardly see everyday."] The Scion Gladiator pilot comments before the mobile suit lowers down on one knee as the cockpit hatch opens. Out stepped a man clad in a black pilot suit with the Scions' symbol emblazoned on the torso while the smooth helmet covered his face. The green visor hiding the pilot's features. He then jumped from the cockpit to the hand that was lowered down then walked off the hand to the ground before meeting up with Sorom and Yukino. The pilot then took off his helmet to reveal the face of Thancred, who had his usual charming smile to disarm any form of conflict.
"So, which of you kids is the pilot?" He asked the teens.
"Uh, me?" Sorom replied, raising his hand a bit.
"And what's your name?"
"Sorom Jaeger… sir." He introduced himself. "You are?"
"The name is Thancred Waters. I'm one of the ace pilots for the Scions of the Seventh Dawn." Thancred greeted with a chuckle.
"Thancred… wait, as in the Thancred Waters? Of the Circle of Knowing?" Sorom went wide-eyed.
"The very same." The older man nodded.
"Wait what? You know him?" Yukino asked.
"How could I not? They're dedicated to Eorzea's salvation from the Calamity!"
"That, and we also had a hand in preventing Meteor falling onto our planet." Thancred pointed out.
"Hey, I'm still here you know!" Bahamut reminded them as he looked down at them.
Thancred stared at the Gundam with interest, "So the rumors are true. Cid actually made a sentient mobile suit."
"Cid?"
"Cid Garland. He's the madman behind making him and the others."
"Where is that old coot anyway? I got more than one bone to pick with him and then I'm gonna roast his ass after!"
"Sorry, can't let you do that. He's our ship's head mechanic and chief engineer. We really need him to, you know, fix our stuff." Thancred stated.
"Hmph!"
"Someone's pissy today…" Sorom muttered.
"Anyways, we need you two to come with us. I know it's sudden, but since Sorom's now the pilot of Bahamut, it's not safe for you here in Tiamat. The Garlean Empire is gonna come after you. With Bahamut's discovery, you now have targets on your backs."
"You mean… we have to leave our home?" Yukino asked sadly.
"Yes. I'm sorry, but it's the only way we're gonna keep you both safe." Thancred said.
Sorom looked at the smoke that emanated from the charred remains of a few buildings from his home colony. Ever since his parents had passed away, he only relied on himself to get by. Now he had a chance to change his life for better or worse.
"When do we leave?" He asked Thancred.
"We can leave right now."
"Alright."
"Sorom… are you sure?" Yukino asked.
"Yukino," The Hyur teen looked at his childhood friend. "This doesn't concern you. I'm the pilot for Bahamut now. If I leave, maybe Garlemald will leave the colony alone. You'll be safe."
"Sorom…" Yukino muttered, before she had a determined look on her face. "I'm coming with you!"
"What!?" Sorom gawked.
"Miss Yukino, I don't think-" Thancred tried to say.
"I'm going with him. Wherever he goes. I go too." Yukino said, before looking at Sorom. "Besides, if I remember, you said you can't live without my cooking."
"Gahhhh, dammit why do you have to go and say that!?" Sorom cried out in dismay.
Thancred sighed, "Alright, alright. No use arguing with a woman who has made up her mind."
"Hehe, this kitty cat's a keeper." Bahamut chuckled.
"Shut it, you flying gecko!" Sorom snapped.
"What's the matter? Afraid to admit you like the kitty cat?"
"There better be a gods damned mute button in there…" Sorom grumbled with an embarrassed blush.
Well, at least one thing is for sure. Everything in Sorom's life is gonna change. For better or for worse.
