Saturday
Just as Chie smiles, the entire place starts shaking. "What the…" As Francis looks around, he notices a circle light not too far from them. "Run!" Following Teddie, the group steps onto it, finding themselves teleported out of the cave. Just as they stand outside, the whole place falls apart, leaving naught but rubble behind.
"Yukiko-" "Let's talk at the entrance." After Yukiko cuts him off, Francis nods. As the group moves, Chie and Yukiko support one another, Francis looking at them from the side with a smile.
"The feelings that Chie and I had suppressed probably created that place somehow." After Yukiko speaks, Yosuke stares at her as Francis rubs his chin. "Like your castle?" Francis questions her, causing her to rub her chin. "I… don't really know." "I mean, this place is weird." Chie speaks up. "I suppose our thoughts and emotions affect it somehow. I mean, that's how we use our Personas."
After she speaks, Francis continues nodding to himself. "That's true…" "Amagi, think it will happen again?" Yosuke's question leads to her shaking her head while frowning. "I don't know…" With nothing else, the group leaves the TV. After the girls go their own way, Yosuke and Francis stand at a quiet spot.
"So what's our next move?" Yosuke questions him. Francis rubs his chin for some time before looking at Yosuke. "Well…"
"Everyday young life Junes~" As the Junes theme song plays, Francis lets out a sigh. "Oniichan?" Hearing Nanako call him, Francis musters a smile. "I am fine." Despite his statement, Nanako continues looking at him with concern, causing him to continue smiling.
"Don't worry. It's been a long day, that's all. Come on! We have to buy the radish for your Daddy, remember?" While still carrying a frown, Nanako nods before going over to the vegetable section.
As Francis and Yosuke were talking prior, they decided on waiting for the girls. Afterwards, they would go through with their idea of bringing Dojima into the TV. While Francis and Nanako were at home afterwards, the young girl received news of her father returning. This led to her wanting to make salad for him.
However, realizing that they were out of radish, the duo decided to come to Junes to buy some for the salad. At the end of the chain of events, Francis finds himself bombarded by the song he has always found distasteful. "Everyday young life Junes~" As the song plays once more, Francis ignores it, looking down while thinking about what the inner voice said when he was at home.
Thy bonds that form Thy Fool Arcana have strengthened, and Thou shalt receive more power when wielding and fusing Personas of said Arcana. Thou art also closer to Thy true power.
"Onii-chan?" Nanako's call brings Francis back to the present, and face to face with her looking at him worryingly. Seeing this, he smiles. "I am fine. Don't worry. Let's buy what we need." As the duo are checking out, Nanako's phone rings. As Nanako picks it up, Francis sees a look of concern on her face.
"Who is it? Maybe I can talk to them?" After being questioned, Nanako looks at Francis sadly. "It's Daddy…" After some wait, the two find themselves in Dojima's car, with the older man glaring at the two as they get on, followed by an awkward silent ride back home.
"How could you two go out at a time like this?! Don't you know it's been dangerous lately?!" Francis falls back slightly as his uncle scolds him upon the trio's return to their place. Everybody goes out anyway…" Nanako sulks as Dojima pants with effort. "I have to agree with her." Francis adds on, causing Dojima's glare to dart towards him.
"No going out at night!" Dojima's shout once again startles Francis. Francis then feels a small hand, possibly Nanako leaning on him. Dojima then comes to a pause, his eyes wide with what seems to be fear. "Dojima-san." Francis draws his attention. "I know you set that rule, but there were plenty of people walking outside. Surely you saw that?"
After being spoken to, Dojima looks down with a frown. As Dojima remains silent, Francis turns around, seeing Nanako looking at her father sadly. As the trio have dinner, more awkward silence hangs between them as the father and daughter dine with glum expressions. Francis, while at the side, remains quiet, looking at the sight calmly.
After dinner, Dojima and Francis continue sitting at the dining table as Nanako goes to her room. Despite Francis looking at Dojima, the older man continues looking at the dish which they placed the radish, the one Francis and Nanako bought, in. "We can go get more." Francis says, forcing a smile as he does and drawing a sad smile from his uncle.
"Were you scared?" Francis continues as his uncle remains silent. Dojima looks at him sadly and nods. Dojima then looks away, rubbing the back of his head, before turning back and smiling sadly. "So, uh, how was your day?"
"Is this really what you want to be talking about right now?" After Francis questions him, Dojima's eyes open wide, seemingly afraid, before he looks down and grasps his hand tight. "I was scared," Dojima says while clenching his teeth, "and so I got angry." "Scared of?"
"That Nanako would be gone." Dojima then looks down, his expression out of Francis' sight. "What actually happened to Auntie?" After Francis questions him, Dojima remains silent. However, Francis could see him continuing to clench his hands tightly. "It's all right. You don't have to tell me. Not now at least."
As Dojima continues facing the ground, Francis looks to the side, fumbling the sleeves of his jacket as he does. "Tell me," Hearing Dojima speak, Francis swiftly turns over, seeing his uncle look at him sadly, "What should I do?" Francis continues staring. "What?" "I just… can't control myself, my fear, my grief,my… anger." "Do you hate Nanako?" Dojima shakes his head.
"Do you hate yourself due to what happened with Auntie?" Dojima looks down, staying silent. Francis lets out a sigh before continuing. "I… I don't know, but if you love Nanako, why not think about what she wants?"
Dojima's eyes widen before he stands up and walks towards his room. "Get some rest." "Wait." Before Dojima could leave, Francis stops him. "Listen," Francis says after getting Dojima's attention. "There's something I need to tell you, but maybe not now." Dojima looks away briefly before speaking to Francis. "Maybe tomorrow?"
Sunday
"Uh…" Francis rubs his head as he and Yosuke are seated at Junes. "You okay?" After being questioned by Yosuke, Francis nods. "Did you tell him?" Another question, another nod. "Give me a moment…" Francis says before resting his head on the chair's handle, thinking back to the early morning conversation he had with Dojima.
Just now…
"Coffee?" Dojima asks a half asleep Francis, who yawns before nodding. After making the coffee, Dojima continues sitting opposite Francis, who rubs his eyes after taking a few sips. After taking a deep breath, Francis looks at Dojima calmly.
"I know a few things about what happened to Yamano." As Dojima's eyes widen, Francis continues. "Konishi and Yukiko too."
Now…
"He wasn't too eager to let me go after that…" Francis says as he looks into the distance, his eyes narrow and unenergetic. "I told him that I can show it to him, but I need some time to prepare first. He was still persistent, but let me go when he realized that was easier." "So we going in later?" Yosuke questions Francis, who shakes his head. "Let's wait for the girls."
After Francis responds, Yosuke remains silent. Turning over, Francis sees the young man peering into the distance with his brows wrinkled. "Say," Yosuke speaks up before turning over, looking at Francis sadly, "Do you… do you blame me? For how I treated you back then?"
Francis smiles, feeling his grogginess still weighing on him. "Nah." Yosuke looks down while smiling. "That so…" Silence continues to hang between the two as they continue to sit, FRancis staring at Yosuke while the latter continues to smile sadly. "Anyways," Yosuke says as he stands up. "You leaving?" Francis questions him before he could walk away. "Ya. I figured since we have no plans." "We could just hang out."
After Francis speaks, Yosuke looks away, his brows wrinkled as he does. "Yosuke?" After being called, he turns around. "See-" "Hanamura!" Before Yosuke can go, two girls, seemingly a few years older, walk up to him. "How may I help you?" Despite Yosuke's polite tone, the girls continue to glare. "Well! You better listen!"
The two girls continue to go on about various Junes-related issues to Yosuke, talking to him rudely as they do. As they do, Francis can clearly hear that the complaints are unjustified. While smiling and nodding, Yosuke calmly answers their complaints. After some time, Francis gets up, startling the girls as he does.
"Francis, what are you doing?" Yosuke's call snaps Francis out of his anger, the latter relaxing his hands before taking a deep breath. "What are you looking at?!" After the girls shout at him, Francis takes another deep breath before forcing a smile. "Sorry, my friend and I were talking until you butted in."
Despite his politeness, the girls continue to glare. "Senpai!" Yosuke calls out, drawing everybody's attention. With him diffusing the situation, the girls then leave, shooting another glare at Yosuke before turning around. As they walk away, Francis turns to Yosuke. "Why did-" He pauses as Yosuke looks down with a frown.
"My father's the manager after all." Yosuke then sighs and sits down. "That's why they all come to me." "I am sorry. I-" "You know." Yosuke continues. "It's not like I really mind. Just…" He comes to a pause, looking far away as he does. "Yosuke?"
"It's so pointless. All of it. Complaining about the most useless of things. All of it, so boring and pointless. I guess that's why I was so excited when I learned about the other side. I was thinking 'Finally. Something worth my time.' And when…" Yosuke looks down, biting his lip as he does. "When you said that I could be better, I… saw you as someone special, someone important. That's why… I was pissed when you said you wanted to leave. I felt… betrayed…"
Silence hangs between the two as they both look down sadly. "I…" Francis speaks up, drawing Yosuke's attention. "I don't blame you. For thinking that all this is a waste of time, for you getting angry. I think… you had the right, you know?" "But… it… felt wrong…" As Yosuke continues frowning, Francis shows a sad smile. "Then do better. If you think it's wrong, try to improve yourself. I will stay by your side. I am… more or less sure the others think so as well." The two continue smiling at one another, not saying anything.
