well, I haven't been around much have I? I'm sorry for that just finished school and on my summer vacation so I will have plenty of time to write, and the reason why I'm writing this story is that I just finished all of the legends of chima and I'm heavily inspired to write about it, as for my other stories I wouldn't expect much anytime soon. I've hit a lot of writer's block and have tried but simply don't have any "urge" to continue but I will at some point this summer. Now enough about me let's get to it.

I walked through the cold and dark woods, it was the dead of night and all I could hear was the light chirps of grasshoppers in the distance. I was hungry, cold, lost, but still, I walked. With one hand on the stub of my left shoulder where my left arm used to be. I lost track of how many times the sun had set since that day, the day that made me so.

Alone.

All I had ever known, gone. all I know now is the cold, dark forest, and for some damn reason, I never stopped until I passed out, but when I woke, I got up and kept walking, barely ate, hardly drank, just, walked.

The sun's rising glare could be seen in the distance through the trees, brought a warmth to the woods that I honestly couldn't have cared about. Until the woods suddenly cleared into a massive plain of sorts, rocks scattered about and tall blades of grass. but what really seemed to knock me out of my mindless state was the incredibly tall spire that stretched into the clouds, with white buildings and such covered it.

As I admired this beauty of what seemed ungodly beautiful architecture, I heard a screech of a sort of bird and the flapping of wings, and a voice.

"um, are you okay? are you lost?"

The first voice I have heard in who knows how long, obviously female from the tone and pitch. I turned my head slowly to face the voice, exhaustion quickly taking hold. I found myself looking upon a creature I had never seen before, The creature's feet seemed like talons but also feet in a way, some hybrid mix, the legs were coated in white feathers with a few light blue here and there around the knees. The body was slim and slightly curvy but quite athletic, with a set of medium-sized breasts that confirmed the gender of the creature to be female and a quite large set of wings. Her hands had long-ish claws instead of regular nails, and her head with a large yellow beak with golden eyes, covered in feathers of white and blue, which made me suspect avian of some sort, but she also wore armor, enough to cover herself but her belly was somewhat exposed along with some sort of headwear. but at the center of her chest piece was a strange empty circular socket, to hold some sort of jewel or something.

Before I could even think of responding, exhaustion, hunger, thirst, everything I had neglected before suddenly hit me like a freight train. I fell over backward landing on my back and instantly started fading to black, and I could the voice of the creature talking, fading out.

"oh my, you need help, ill help you..."

And I was out.

As I began to come too, I could feel as though something was putting pressure on my left arm stub, and I'm not gonna lie, it fuckin hurt. I jolted up instinctively punching whatever was on my left. I made contact with something hard and surprisingly got a response, vocally.

"OW! MY BEAK!" I heard as I looked to see another similar-looking creature as before but definitely male this time on the ground holding his face, most likely in pain from me jabbing his beak.

I looked to my stub to see it mostly bandaged but the rest hanging off, it clicked that this man was some form of doctor and was bandaging up my arm. Instant regret rushed through my body as I tried to get up, but noticed that I was hooked up to many things like fluid and nutrients, guess they were keeping me alive.

"you sleep for 3 DAYS to wake up and punch me? how unbelievably rude, and I worked so hard to help you." the creature continued as he got up and walked away holding his beak.

I replied, "I'm sorry it was reflex I swear, your bandages were really tight and it hurt."

"hmp" he went and walked out of the room.

I took this time to look around, the room was very wooden with a white stone-looking wall behind me which the bed was up against. I took out the needles in my right arm hooking me up to the stuff and stood up. only to get very light-headed and fall back to the bed. I tried again but this time was at least able to stand.

I heard a door open and looked to see yet another one of those creatures in a robe walk in, and begin to speak.

"Greetings, you've been asleep for quite some time. My name is Ewald, and you? he asked.

it took me a second to even remember my name, I responded.

"Riley, that's my name, Riley," I said holding my head.

"well greetings Riley, one of our own, Eris found you at the base of our great spire, you passed out the second she spoke to you, and to be honest we have never seen anything like you," he responded

Now I know that one creature's name was eris, I'll have to thank her later. I continued

"and to also be honest I've never seen your kind either," I said trying to take a step and almost falling. catching myself on the bed.

"Really, you've never heard of the eagles? he asked shocked

"well I have seen eagles before but you don't really fit the bill. they're about this big" showing with me hands their size. "are mostly brown and don't talk" I responded

"hmm you come from far away, where are you from? and what exactly are you?" he asked curiously.

it quickly came back, the horrid memories of the slaughter, I almost fell over from shock, the "eagle" coming to my aid.

"I'm human, not even an adult, I'm only 17, and where I'm from no longer exist, ravaged by war, the slaughter, the death" I managed to say dropping to my knees.

"ok, ok, ok, we don't need to talk about it now, you must be starving, here. let's get you something to eat" he said helping me to my feet.

He helped me to a room down a series of halls where he set me down at a table in a massive library. Another eagle brought us both a dish of some sort of fish, whatever it was tasted fucking delicious. The only weird part is that I ate like five plates of it, Ewald looked at me like I was crazy.

"wow, you really were hungry," he said

"Hey don't judge me," I said wiping my mouth "if you wandered through the forest for probably longer than a month barely eating you'd do the same"

He was baffled "you've been wandering the woods for over a month? on FOOT," he said shocked.

"Yeah, ever since, the slaughter" I shrunk in my chair thinking about it.

"you don't need to talk about it if you don't need too," he said

I slammed my fist on the table, this made him jump but it was soo loud it caught the attention of a few other eagles in the library.

"my apologies, I just need to get it off my chest, okay, but just thinking about it makes me weak, but makes me ungodlily enraged, cause that's how I lost my arm," I said trying to relax

"oh Thank the great eagle your okay" I heard from a familiar voice

I looked to see the very same eagle I met at the base of the spire.

"why hello, eris correct?" I asked

"Yup, I guess Ewald told you about me huh" she responded.

"yeah he did, hey I just wanted to thank you for helping me out there, I've been just walking and passing out over and over for the last month or so I think," I said shaking her talon/hand.

"oh you're so welcome, it's pretty much in my nature to help people," she replied looking away with a shy look.

"a very good trait to have" I replied.

"hehem, thank you for stopping by eris but shouldn't you be organizing those books like I asked" Ewald cut in.

"oh I'm sorry Ewald ill get right on it" and she started to fly away.

"ACH hold up," I said stopping eris, "you can come to sit with us, you saved me after all right, and id like to get to know you, and Ewald that was quite rude I must say if those books need organizing so bad why don't you do it, don't make a kind woman of her stature do your bidding." I finished.

both looked at each other quite shocked, then Ewald replied "I'm willing to treat you as our guest in our home, but I will not take be disrespected about how I do things in my library"

"and I honestly don't care, as a woman, she should have more respect and shouldn't be pushed off like that it's just rude and also disrespectful, along with I personally she should be here for this conversation since she did pretty much save me. and once again, it's YOUR library why don't you do it." I replied with a stern tone.

"eh fine, please have a seat eris, I'll take care of the books later," he said and eris took a seat.

"Now, where was I, oh yes, my home." I quickly gathered my thoughts and began. "I come from a kingdom called Rome, we were the biggest out of a group called the table of twelve, where twelve kingdoms lived together in peace, helping each other whenever it was needed. but one of the kingdoms, the Persian empire, became overzealous, believing that they deserved more, demanding things such as land, food weapons, and other such things. they were the only other kingdom to rival ours for just sheer numbers alone, but we had the technology to keep them in check for a while. Tensions grew and grew until all-out war broke out between Persia and the rest of the kingdoms. we almost wiped them from the continent, however, since it wa 11, until..."

"Until what?" eris asked

"the slaughter," I said and continued, "the king of Persia with no other options tampered with the dark arts, a magic that was forbidden by the table of twelve, he used it to conjure an army of demented, undead, monsters that took 10 men to take down one. they marched on our city first since we were the biggest threat, they tore down our wall and slaughtered our people, the women, the children." I stopped starting to cry. eris and Ewald in complete shock.

"I served..." I continued "I served alongside the king, king Thomas of Rome, my father as the primary commander and strategist of the military and technological development." they both gasped, and I continued " I was very smart becoming a very fear commander, nor from my brute force but my cunning, no one could beat mt tactics, expect the dark magic. I can still hear the screams of my people being slaughtered in the streets." I stopped pretty much sobbing.

"When the time came for them to break down the last doors in the castle where I planned to die alongside my father, but then he used the magic the great merlin the magnificent discovered so long ago to teleport me outside the city and told me to run, run as far as I could and make sure our peoples legacy never dies. he also said he sent off rare and powerful artifacts to make sure that the Persian empire couldn't get its hand on it. as I ran I confronted one of those monsters, I barely escaped with my life but lost my left arm in the fight. and since then all I have done is aimlessly walk the woods, wondering why I didn't just kill myself to end my misery. but I always remember what my dad said, to keep our legacy alive. so I kept going until I ran into you guys. now, I don't know what to do"

I put my head on the table just full-on crying. both of the eagles coming to comfort me.

well now that really got dark didn't it, either way i plan on getting another chapter our so stay tuned.
